first christmas | buddy & monkey: double the trouble
summary: the first part of the flash back to buddy & monkey's first christmas.
double the trouble masterlist
“Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful,” Jordan sang the song lyrics aloud as you were forced into a shopping trip with Leah and Jordan, and a 7 month old Buddy, who seemed most fascinated in the lights and decorations draped around the shop, “Since we’ve no place to go. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”
“I’m bored,” You felt like you’d already voiced your opinion a few times, but both the older girls seemed too distracted by the Christmas decorations to notice your disinterest in the shopping experience, “How much longer do we gotta be here for?”
Christmas was known to be a festive time, it was supposed to be filled with magical memories and joyous fun, however for you, the past had always been the complete opposite.
Growing up, all you’ve ever known is a bleak Christmas day in a cold and mould infested house, with numerous beer cans strewn around while the stale smell of cigarettes lingered in the air.
So your version of Christmas? It was nothing but plain hell.
You knew this year would be different though, of course, in your new home. It’s the only topic Leah’s been talking about since the beginning of November, so you’re confident to think that the blonde is definitely planning to go all out this Christmas.
Which led you to where you are currently standing in the Christmas aisle in a busy shop, and you were growing bored, increasingly fast.
“Why are you all mopey, little one?” Jordan was the first to notice your complete disinterest in the Christmas decorations.
What was so special about these decorations, anyways?
“I’m bored. When can we go home?” You complained one more time, darting your interest to something completely different - Lego, bingo. Now that was fun!
“Got something better to do, huh?” Leah teased as she turned to look at you.
You shrugged your shoulders in response, “I got homework to finish, and a game of Fifa I wanna play as well.”
“Since when do you willingly do homework?” Jordan joked, nudging you playfully with a grin.
“Since, uh, now… I’m bored here, can we please go home?” You all but attempted to plead, you were bored out of your brains right now at that very moment.
Jordan chuckled in amusement and gently patted your shoulder, “Just a bit longer, little one.”
You resisted the urge to throw your head back and groan aloud. Why do people actually like to shop? It’s so… dull.
“I think we might need to get a new tree this year, you know? We’re due a new one, and maybe some decorations to go on it–” Leah rambled on, her excitement for the new tradition this year. “Oh, and the baubles! We need to get new ones’ for both the girls this year,”
“Whatever you want to do love, it’s fine with me,” Jordan agreed with the blonde before she turned back around to look at you, “Have you decided what type of advent calendar you want this year, little one?”
You arched your brow in confusion, “What’s an advent calendar?”
“Well, it’s a chocolate in a calendar, pretty much… And look, they even have ones’ that are Shrek themed as well! How cools’ that?”
“I… I don’t get it,” You murmured, still confused about the idea of it.
“During the 24 day run up to Christmas from the 1st of the month, you get to open a window each morning with something behind it, normally chocolate,” Leah took over explaining to you, “If you don’t want chocolate then there’s other options of what you could get?” She suggested.
“Um, I… I do like chocolate,” You were apprehensive to agree, you did kind of want one but you didn’t want Leah and Jordan to go out of their way and buy you one, “But it’s okay, I don’t need one of them. I’ve never had one before, I don’t need one now.” You told them.
You’ve never needed one before, so why do you need one now?
You never understood the tradition of advent calendars. You were never lucky enough– no scratch that, you never even attempted to ask your dad for one, despite how much the other kids at your school would boast about them.
What was so good about one of them anyways?
Jordan, however, seemed very insistent for you to pick one up though, even with your reluctance to disagree, “Little one, you need to have one. It’s a tradition.”
“No, no, I don’t. I’m fine,” You repeated, shaking your head, “I don’t need one of them.”
“But you have to have one, little one. Oh, what about a sweet one instead? You like them, don’t you?” Jordan’s eyes widened in excitement, pointing her index finger in the direction of one designed with sweets, “I’m pretty sure there’s even a crisp one as well!”
“No, it’s okay. I really don’t want one,” You continued to insist on not wanting a calendar, much to Jordan’s continuous insistence that you needed one.
Jordan shook her head at your response, “Nonsense, I’m not having it– I’m getting you one of them,” Without further words, she proceeded to grab the one with the Shrek design on it and tossed it in the shopping trolley in front of her, “You can’t go without one, not on my watch, little one.” She joked, although you couldn’t help but feel bad about you having it though.
It’s something you weren’t entirely used to, you didn’t know how to react when people brought you stuff.
“Le,” You whined, looking at Leah with a somewhat pleading look with a bit of hope that she would jump in and help you out, “Tell her. Please.”
“Jord, calm down a bit love,” Leah told her girlfriend with a soft tone of voice, sharing a knowing look with her, before she turned back to you, “I think Jords’ just excited for you to have one and share this experience, my girl.” She explained gently.
You shook your head in protest against the idea, “I don’t want one, I don’t need one. Save the money, save it for something else!”
“Little one, it’s not going to break the bank,” Jordan snorted in amusement, failing to see that you were beginning to get worked up over it, “It’s just an advent calendar.”
“I don’t deserve one,” Your bottom lip trembled, your hands began to become shaky and you could feel your breath getting rigid.
Jordan furrowed her eyebrow in confusion, “What’re you talking about? Everyone deserves an advent calendar, little one.”
“I don’t. I’m nothing but a menace, I’ve not been doing well at school… I got into a fight with a kid,” You began to stutter your words, feeling yourself getting upset by such a silly little thing.
“Menace or not, you still deserve an advent calendar, and you’re not going to change my mind on the matter, little one,” Jordan continued to insist, not realising how you’d become a lot more stiff about things.
“I don’t… I don’t want one!” You exclaimed, feeling all the emotions inside you get too much, as Leah and Jordan both pause and look at you in concern, “I… I don’t want one!” You repeated, barely louder than a whisper.
Leah seemed to understand straight away as she gestured for Jordan to watch Buddy before she moved to stand in front of you, “Hey, breathe,” She told you in a calm and gentle tone of voice, “It’s okay, you’re okay. How about me and you go stand outside, and get a bit of air, yeah?”
You nodded hesitantly in agreement, “O… Okay.”
“Alright, come on then, my girl,” Leah murmured, gently wrapping her arm around your waist as she guided you out of the busy shop to stand outside, “Just copy me okay? In and out, in and out…”
You followed her instructions and began to slowly feel the overwhelm start to drift.
“Is that better now?” Leah questioned, genuinely concerned as she rested her hand on your shoulder.
“A bit,” You told her quietly in agreement, “I… I’m sorry for having a meltdown in the shop, I didn’t mean to do that. I… I’m sorry for my outburst.”
“Hey, you don’t need to apologise, alright? It’s okay to feel overwhelmed,” Leah reassured you, pulling you in towards her as she enveloped her arms around you, “If you really don’t want to have an advent calendar either then that’s okay, I think Jord was just getting a bit excited and she wants you to experience the things that you haven’t before…” She held you close, her hands gently rubbing your back as she whispered soothing reassurances.
“I just… I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal,” You murmured, your voice muffled against Leah’s coat, “It’s just chocolate.”
“I know, my girl,” Leah replied softly, using her own nickname for you that comforted you the most, “But well, it’s not really about the chocolate, though. It’s more about the memories that we’re going to make instead. It’s about creating new traditions for you, me, Buddy, and Jords as well.”
You stayed quiet for a moment, processing her words that Leah always had a way of making things sound less daunting, like they weren’t as overwhelming as they felt.
“I don’t wanna waste money though,” You mumbled, still hesitant, “You already plan to spend so much on me, and Buddy as well as Christmas decorations…”
Leah pulled back slightly to look at you with her eyes full of understanding, “Listen to me, my girl,” She said with a gentle firmness, “This isn’t about money, alright? It’s about showing you how much you’re loved, and that you are a part of this family. You deserve nice things, just like Buddy does, and you deserve to feel the magic of Christmas, even if it’s new to you.”
“I… I don’t know what to think,” You admitted, as your bottom lip wobbled again, and you ducked your head, hiding your face.
Leah cupped your cheeks gently, coaxing you to look at her, “I know it’s hard to accept sometimes,” She said, her voice a whisper, “But Jords and I love you so much, and we want to do this for you. Can you let us? Just this once?”
You hesitated, then gave her a small nod in agreement, “Okay, but only if it’s not too expensive,”
“Atta girl,” Leah smiled, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, “It won’t be. I think that Jords’ might be more excited about the fact there’s a Shrek one for you.” She teased, her tone light and affectionate.
You pouted, “Can we go home now?”
Leah laughed, draping an arm around your shoulder as she steered you back inside, “Patience my girl, patience.”
“Yeah, Le’s still got the rest of the aisle to ogle over,” Jordan joked, catching the tail end of the conversation, and exchanged a quick glance with Leah, checking if you were feeling better.
“Urgh, but it’s so boring! They’re all the same, aren’t they? I’m flippin’ bored!” You groaned dramatically, bouncing back to your chaotic self like you hadn’t just had an outburst ten minutes prior to being back in the shop.
Leah chuckled and took over pushing Buddy in her pushchair again, “We won’t be much longer.”
“Ugh,” You huffed, wandering over to a shelf of toys where your curiosity piqued, “What does this do?”
Jordan turned around to see what you were talking about and smiled in amusement, “Press it and find out.”
“Okay then…” You furrowed her eyebrow in confusion, reaching forward and pressing the button as the music blared aloud, and in the process making you jump half a mile, “Jesus– Oh my God. That was scary!” You exclaimed, holding your hand over your heart.
Jordan burst out laughing at your reaction, while Buddy seemed to find great amusement in the music at least, “Made you jump, huh?” She teased.
“Shut up,” You grumbled, though your lips twitched into a reluctant smile, “Do people actually like these things?”
“So, I take it you don’t want one, then?” Leah teased.
“No!” You were quick to exclaim, “Absolutely not. Not a single chance!” You were dead set against the idea of one, even if Buddy seemed to really like the music.
“Are you sure?” Jordan joked.
“I’m positive. Nope, I definitely don’t want one of them!” You insisted, firm on your decision as you were just relieved it stopped playing the music, much to Buddy’s disappointment instead.
Leah pointed to a display of stockings nearby, her eyes lighting up, “Oh, look at these! How adorable are they?” She was in awe over them as she turned to look in Jordan’s direction, “We have to get them. All four of us can match!”
“They’re cute,” Jordan agreed.
“That’s settled then. We’re getting them,” Leah didn’t hesitate to quickly rummage through and find the correct initials for all of you before placing them in the ever-growing shopping trolley, “What do you want for Christmas this year, my girl? You need to start and think, so you can make your list out for Santa.”
You tilted your head, “Santa?”
“Yeah, you know– the man in red and white who brings you presents,” Jordan explained, throwing her arm around your shoulder and steering you in the direction of more Christmas decorations.
You frowned, “Well the kids’ at school talked about him, but he never visited my house– Does he only visit special houses?”
Leah’s smile faltered briefly, “Uh, I think he might’ve been stuck getting in the house.”
“Oh,” You murmured in realisation, “Well, me and this ‘Santa’ have personal beef then.” You said, crossing your arms over your chest.
Leah’s eyes widened and she tried to lean in to Jordan and whisper, “Remind me to hold her back when we take them to visit the grotto,” She was almost certain that you might attempt to try and fight the man.
Jordan snorted, “Noted.”
“I don’t like this Santa fella,” You declared.
“Right then,” Leah began to speak as her gaze softened, “How about you have a think what you would like for Christmas, write it down and then you can give it to one of us instead. How does that sound?”
You shrugged your shoulders, “But I won’t want anything though.”
Jordan frowned, “You have to have presents to open on Christmas day, little one. You can’t not have anything to open.”
“Why? I don’t get it,” Your voice softened, the usual spark dimming as confusion flickered over your face, “It’s never happened before.”
Jordan hesitated, her eyes darting to Leah for help, “Well…because it’s Christmas, and everyone deserves them on this very special day.”
“I… I still don't understand,” You murmured, your voice quieter now, “I’ve never received them before. Why hasn’t he come before? Was I really that bad?”
Leah crouched down in front of you, her gaze steady and full of warmth, “No, Monkey, you weren’t bad. Not even a little bit.”
You frowned, your arms wrapping around yourself protectively, “Then why now? Did I do something to deserve them this year?”
“You don’t need to do something to deserve them, my girl,” Leah reached out, gently taking your hands in hers, “I think Jords’ might’ve worded that a bit wrong.”
“Yeah,” Jordan admitted, stretching the back of her neck awkwardly and unsure what exactly to say next in case she messed up again, “Sorry, little one.”
You looked between them, still uncertain about a lot of things, “Oh.. Okay then.”
Leah’s lips quirked into a playful smile, “It’s just nice to receive them from Santa, you know? This year we’ll leave out milk and cookies for him, maybe even a carrot for Rudolph, and then when you’re asleep, he’ll come and pay a visit. So when we wake up on Christmas morning there’ll be presents waiting under the tree, just for you.”
“Wait… Whos’ Rudolph, and why is he getting a carrot? That’s lame!” You exclaimed, trying to keep up with the different names’ that you’re very unfamiliar with, “Why isn’t he getting cookies? That’s not really fair, is it?”
“Rudolph is one of Santa’s reindeers that helps him fly his sleigh,” Leah chuckled, shaking her head in amusement, “He’ll need a healthy snack as well, he can’t eat cookies like Santa.”
Your brow furrowed as the skepticism creeped in, “This Santa fella sounds like a creep still…”
Jordan laughed and shook her head, “He’s not, little one. He’s just… magical. It's part of the fun.”
You kept your arms crossed, not entirely convinced about things, “Yeah, I’m not convinced much there but whatever you say,” You told them both, “I’m still mad at him for not showing up until now though.”
“This tree is perfect,” Leah beamed a wide smile as she stood there with her hands on her hips as she admired the brand new tree standing in the corner of the living room, “I can’t wait to decorate it!”
“Are you sure that you want to put it up already?” Jordan questioned, raising an eyebrow, “It’s only the middle of November.”
“It’s never too early for Christmas, Jord,” Leah replied confidently.
“Are you sure about that?” Jordan teased, admiring the way that her girlfriend stood there beaming with pride.
“I’m sure! The house is going to look so magical when it’s all done, and it’s going to be great for both of our girls,” Leah turned towards you, her smile softening, “Do you want to help me decorate the tree, my girl?”
You hesitated, shifting awkwardly, “Do I have to?”
“You don’t have to, if you don’t want to, but it might be fun,” Leah suggested in a gentle tone of voice, “We can even put your special bauble on there that we brought, can’t we?”
Jordan snorted in amusement from across the room, “Remember how much fun this is when our 7 month old is trying to pull all the lights and baubles off the tree, eh?” She teased.
“Don’t be a Grinch, Jord,” Leah shot back, playfully as she stuck her tongue out at her girlfriend.
You tilted your head curiously, “What’s a Grinch?”
There was a short collective gasp from both Leah and Jord, “He’s only the best character in one of the greatest Christmas films!” Jordan exclaimed, “We can watch it if you want?”
Leah laughed at Jordan’s reaction, “It’s a bit too early for Christmas films, don’t you think?” She teased in response to earlier.
Jordan scoffed, “Oh, really? Says’ the one who wants to put the tree up already!” She pointed a finger at you and Leah dramatically, “We’re watching The Grinch. No arguments. It’s for educational purposes.”
“Whatever you say. Just as long as you don’t complain about me putting the tree up then,” Leah responded, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
“You can go ahead and put the tree up, me and our girls are going to watch the movie,” Jordan instructed, wasting no time to turn the TV on and sought out the film to watch.
“I think Buddy’s more interested in the lights,” Leah retorted, watching Buddy, who was currently mesmerized by the dangling, twinkling lights draped across the tree as her tiny hands tried to reach out for them, determined to grab them, “No, no. Those aren’t for you to pull on, bubba.” She said, scooping Buddy into her arms before she could cause too much mischief.
Jordan smirked in amusement, “Oh, I give it a week before she’s trying to pull the baubles off the tree.”
“No way,” Leah gently kissed Buddy’s forehead, “Those aren’t for you to pull on, bubba. Mummy’s trying to decorate the tree so it’ll be all pretty. You just like looking at them, don’t you, huh?”
Buddy babbled happily in response, making Leah and Jordan both laugh.
“Let me take her so you can finish the rest of the tree,” Jordan offered, scooping Buddy into her arms and pressing a gentle kiss on top of her forehead, “I don’t blame her for being so mesmerized, you’ve made it look wonderful already, love.”
“Thanks, babe,” Leah murmured, exchanging a gentle kiss on the lips with Jordan, “Monkey,” She called over to you gently as you sat curled up on the sofa with your head buried in your phone, “Are you sure you don’t want to come and help decorate the rest of the tree? There’s still a fair bit to go.”
“Oh, uh, no… no, I’m alright,” You hesitated, your hands fidgeting nervously, “I’d probably just end up messing it up or something.”
Leah moved closer to you, “You won’t mess it up, my girl. I’m sure of it.”
“I’ve never decorated a tree before though,” You admitted, looking down while your voice is barely audible, “I… I don’t know what to do.”
“Hey, it’s okay,” Leah’s heart ached at the vulnerability in your voice, she moved to sit beside you and pulled a box of baubles closer, “Everyone has to start somewhere, right? How about this? You take the special baubles we picked out for you and choose a place for them on the tree. You can make it your own.”
“Are you sure?” You continued to look at Leah hesitantly.
Leah smiled warmly, “I’m positive, my girl. Come on, let’s do it together.”
Tentatively, you picked up a shiny bauble with your name etched on it. With Leah by your side, you found a perfect spot on the tree and carefully hung it on the branch, “Is this okay?”
“There we go,” Leah said proudly, stepping back to admire your work, “Hey, that looks amazing. Nice one, my girl!” She said as she wrapped an arm around your shoulder, squeezing you lightly.
"How much longer do we have to wait in this line now?" You grumbled, your impatience getting the better of you as you fidgeted in your spot, "It feels like we've been here forever!"
Another tradition you couldn't fathom was the idea of going to pay a visit to Santa at his grotto, but you were, standing in a line with Leah, Jordan, Buddy and Amanda, who'd decided to join the trip to experience the magical moment of Buddy meeting Santa for the first time.
The line to Santa's grotto stretched endlessly, or at least so it felt like it to you, and you couldn't help but continue to fidget impatiently while standing beside Leah, "Patience, my girl." She reassured you, knowingly.
"This is our Monkey we're talking about. I don't think she has patience," Jordan joked, peering up from looking at her phone, amused by your grumbles.
Amanda gave you an amused smile, bouncing a bundled up Buddy in her arms, "We're almost at the front now, Monkey."
You huffed, glancing ahead at the entrance of the grotto, "Why're they so small?" You speak your mind without a second thought, gesturing to the small people, dressed in bright costumes, bustling around, "Those little people are kinda low-key terrifying." Their cheerful movement only made your expression sour further.
"They're called Elves, Monkey," Jordan said, stifling her laughter.
You squinted, still not entirely convinced, "I don't care what they are called, they're still freaky," You muttered, "Are people actually that small?"
"Monkey!" Leah hissed, her voice dropping to a sharp whisper, though her lip twitched in amusement, "You can't say things like that, don't be rude."
"But I'm not bein' rude, I'm just bein' honest," You argued, gesturing dramatically towards said elves, "They are tiny though, right? Like, freakishly small!"
"Stop it," Leah shot you a warning look.
Amanda cleared her throat, clearly fighting back her own laughter, "So, do you know what you're going to ask Santa for this year, Monkey?" She asked, steering the conversation in another direction, and trying to get some inkling of what you would like.
"Hell nah, there's no way I am tellin' that creep what I want," You told her firmly, crossing your arms your chest, "Amanda! Did you know that he actually sneaks into houses when you're asleep?"
"Yes, I've heard about that," Amanda agreed, her tone teasing as she rocked Buddy, who stared at you with wide eyes.
"It ain't right, is it? It's weird, like dude, I'm sleepin' so g'way!" You exclaimed, your hands flying around in exasperation, "He like sneaks into the house in the middle of the night, and that's just borderline creeper alert!"
Amanda chuckled in amusement, entertained by your antics that she's not seen entirely before considering you're usually more secluded and reluctant to speak around any of Leah's family, "Your big sister certainly is funny, isn't she?" She coos to Buddy, bouncing her lightly in her arms.
"Looks like it's nearly our turn to go in now," Jordan motioned, nodding towards the family ahead of you as they disappeared into the grotto.
"Great," You declared with a newfound determination, your face set in a scowl, "Me an' the fella in red need to have words." You told her, rolling up your sleeves, more than ready to scrap with him.
"Whoa, no, no, no!" Leah was quick to react, grabbing your arms and pulling you back, "I don't think so. Monkey you cannot fight Santa."
You scrunched your face up in confusion, "Why not? He's the one that's left me out every other year until now! Let me 'ave him. I can fight him!"
"No, absolutely not," Leah told you in a firm tone of voice, "I know you might be upset about the past but that still doesn't mean you can try and fight him, alright? It's definitely not okay to do that."
"But, he forgot me..." You whine in protest.
Leah sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose,"Monkey, I'm being serious now. No fighting Santa Clause, do you understand?"
"There's a sentence I bet you never thought you'd say, love," Jordan quipped, amusedly.
"Fine," You grumbled, crossing your arms, "I won't try to fight Santa."
When your turn finally came, Buddy's reaction was immediate and dramatic. As soon as her eyes locked on Santa's jolly face, within seconds she was letting out an ear-piercing wail, burying her face in Amanda's shoulder, clinging onto her like her life depended on it.
"Oh dear," Amanda said, patting Buddy's back, "I didn't expect that reaction."
"Oh bubba," Leah cooed in a gentle tone of voice, "He's not that scary, I promise."
"Here, let me take her," Jordan said, gently scooping Buddy into her arms, "Shh, it's okay, Buddy. It's okay."
"Is it? Cos' I think she might have the right idea," In your defence, you did try and keep your word, however your anger can't be helped, and seeing the man with a joyful expression just made you twitch with rage.
"Don't even think about it, Monkey," Leah warned, sensing your intentions.
Ignoring her, you stepped forward, jabbing a finger in Santa's direction, "Listen, 'ere, mate, yeah?" You began, your tone scolding, "You can't come into me' house while I'm asleep, you creep! But also, since you're taking notes... I like Shrek and LEGO, so, capiche?"
"Oh no," Amanda mumbled, trying to stifle her laughter.
Leah groaned, pulling you back, "That's enough, Menace. Reign it in."
"But I wasn't done yet!" You protested.
"Oh no, we're definitely done. Let's go, out there," Leah declared, steering you toward the exit, "Keep this up and you'll be getting coal in your stocking."
You scrunched your face up in confusion, "What's coal?"
"Never mind," Leah muttered.
"Well at least this trip has been somewhat memorable," Jordan quipped, exiting the grotto with a tearful Buddy in her arms.
Leah exhales a deep sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose, "And to think I just wanted a photo of the girls with Santa, is that too much to ask for?" She mumbled, glancing between you and Buddy.
"What's so fun about a walk in the woods? It's freezing outside!" You complained, leaning up against the doorframe of the living room with a scowl etched on your face.
"It'll be fun," Leah chuckled as she finished off wrapping a present, carefully placing it in a gift bag.
You scrunch your face up in disagreement, crossing your arms over your chest, "I'm not convinced."
It was now Christmas Eve, which meant there was yet another tradition - a walk with Leah's entire family. You weren't overly keen on the whole idea of that one though.
"Do I have to come?" You questioned, not thrilled about the idea.
"Yes you do. Stop being grumpy," Leah said, smirking.
"I'm not grumpy, but there's gotta be better things to do than go for a walk in bitter temperatures!" You dramatically huffed, throwing your arms up in the air in protest.
"Okay, now you're being dramatic," Leah teased, "It's not even that cold outside-- Buddy's excited, aren't you, bubba?" She cooed, crouching down to scoop Buddy off her playmat, where she lay there, admiring the twinkling lights.
You glanced at Buddy, who let out some babble you didn't really understand, "Yeah, she sounds like she's thrilled. Besides, she doesn't even have to walk!"
"What's going on?" Jordan asked as she walked in, eyebrows raised.
"Leah's forcing me outside when it's freezing Jord!" You whined in protest, dead set against the idea, "Why do I even have to come?"
Jordan chuckled, "Oh, I'll leave this one up to you to deal with." She joked, gently taking Buddy from Leah to get her ready to go out, "Come on little miss, let's go and get you ready to go out, shall we, hm?"
"Oh thanks babe, I really appreciate the help," Leah murmured sarcastically, shaking her head, "You're part of the family now, Monkey, and it's a tradition of ours."
"But I... I like being warm," You mumbled, keeping your arms crossed over your chest.
"It's not that cold outside, Monkey," Leah said, rolling her eyes as she walked through the hallway to grab her coat off the peg, "You'll like it, I promise."
"It's England, it's always cold, Leah," You complained, still not liking the idea one bit.
Leah pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head, "Here, coat and shoes on, please."
"Fine," You huffed, stomping your foot as you reluctantly took your coat from Leah, "But I'm still not happy about this!"
As it turned out, you did end up having some kind of fun at least, with Jacob, Leah's brother and Ben, Leah's cousin.
"Race you there!" Jacob shouted.
"Nah, I'm gonna beat you first!" You yelled, sprinting ahead.
You and Jacob seemed to get on like a house on fire, he was only a couple of years older than you give or take, so it was fun and Ben was like a big kid anyways.
"I'm gonna beat you both, slow pokes!" Ben joined in, grinning as he bolted to catch up with you both.
From behind, Leah and Jordan watched with amused smiles as they walked with the rest of Leah's family, "So much for her not wanting to come then, huh?" Jordan quipped.
"Tell me about it," Leah chuckled, shaking her head as she watched you race ahead of Jacob and Ben, "Be careful, Monkey, or you'll slip--" She trailed off as you skidded slighty but caught yourself, "Yep, she definitely didn't listen to a single word I said then."
"Relax, love," Jordan reassured her girlfriend, clasping her own hand in Leah's, "She'll be fine, she's sensible."
Leah raised an eyebrow, "This is Monkey, we're talking about right? The one who personally tried to fight Santa at the grotto, remember?"
"Yeah... You're right there," Jordan laughed.
"Oh, I heard all about that!" Holly, Leah's cousin, chimed in, clearly amused, "Absolutely hilarious!"
"Oh, don't even remind me," Leah groaned, "It was so embarrassing, honestly."
"But she did seem determined about it, though," Jordan quipped.
Berny smiled warmly, "I have to say it's nice to see her coming out of her shell a bit more now."
"I'm used to her being quiet around here. She's a right little firecracker, isn't she?" Amanda chuckled, noting back to the trip at the grotto, and also hearing about other incidents.
"Oh, she definitely can be," Leah said softly, "It's taken her some time getting used to it, but she's slowly starting to get there."
"I have to admit when you first brought up the idea of bringing a teenager home when you were heavily pregnant, I did have some concerns," David, Leah's dad, who had been quiet until now, piped in.
Amanda hummed in agreement, "I think we all did."
"Same here," Jordan admitted, "But you try going against a hormonal heavily pregnant woman who was determined to do it. I know when to pick my battles."
Leah shot her a playful glare, but her face softened at Jordan's next words, "I wouldn't have it any other way now with our little family." She said, leaning over and kissing her girlfriend on the cheek.
"Nice save," Leah retorted, smitten by her girlfriend's words.
"She's a great kid, Le. She does seem settled," Holly stated, watching with a fond smile as you ran around with Jacob and Ben, laughing and having fun.
Leah nodded in agreement, smiling, "She is great, and she absolutely adores Buddy as well."
"They are going to be double trouble together," David joked, patting Leah on the shoulder, "I'm telling you when Buddy's old enough to talk, they'll run rings around you both."
"I don't look forward to that," Leah grimaced, her head filled with images of all sorts of chaos you and Buddy would cause, "Thank God there's still time to prepare for that."
"Do you think she's excited for Christmas?" Berny wondered.
"I think so?" Jordan replied, making it sound more like a question than an answer.
"She's never really gotten to properly experience it before, until now," Leah explained to her family, "She was pretty reluctant to even let us buy her an advent calendar this year."
Jordan winced at the memory, "Yeah, that was an experience."
"It's a first Christmas for both of them, you'll just have to make it extra special," Jordan, Leah's cousin, chimed into the conversation.
"And just think this time next year, you'll have your little boy as well," Leah told her with a soft, genuine smile, "Buddy will have a friend then." She added, glancing down at the sleeping 8 month old in her pushchair.
"That's right," Jordan hummed, resting her hands on her own ever-growing baby bump, "I can't wait to meet him."
"It'll fly by before you know it," Amanda told her, "Leah said the same about Buddy, and before we all knew it, she was here." She cooed, crouching down to place a gentle kiss on the top of Buddy's forehead, who was still fast asleep.
"I just don't want Monkey to feel too overwhelmed by it all, and I know our family can be a lot sometimes," Leah admitted, feeling weary about tomorrow and how much it might be for you compared to usual.
"Don't worry, bubba, I'm sure she'll be fine," Amanda reassured Leah, "Don't overthink it so much, alright? Let's just take it one day at a time."
"Yeah, you're right," Leah nodded in agreement.
"Now, I've wrapped both of the girls' presents for you both to take back to your house when you go," Amanda explained to Leah and Jordan, "I thought it was best so you could open tem at home without everyone around."
Leah nodded along, listening to Amanda's explanation, "Thanks, Mum. I'm sure the girls will both love them,"
"I bet Buddy will love the wrapping paper more," David chuckled, peering down at his granddaughter, who's succumbed to sleep.
"I have kept the receipts anyways just in case the clothes aren't the right size, so we exchange them, of course," Amanda added in, weary about the fact that the clothes might not be the right size.
"I'm sure they'll be fine," Jordan quipped, shrugging her shoulders, "Oo, speaking of trouble, here she comes!" She motioned to you, racing back towards them.
"I won!" You exclaimed, slightly out of breath as you leaned over, your cheeks were rosy red from the cold, "Did you see? Them two are slow!"
"Oh yeah, totally. You definitely out run them!" Jordan teased, ruffling your hair, "You look freezing, little one. Ready to go and grab a hot chocolate now in the cafe?"
Your eyes lit up at the question and without any hesitation you answered, "Yeah!"
"I've heard that you really like hot chocolate, Monkey?" Holly chimed in, curiously, having heard about your liking for the sweet drink as the whole family headed in the direction of a cosy cafe.
"I do, but it has to have whipped cream and marshmallows, otherwise it's lame," You rambled, your shyness completely going out of the window.
"I tend to make pretty good hot chocolate, if I do say so myself," David declared, keeping his hands stuffed in the pocket of his trousers.
"Oh yeah, Monkey. You'll have to try one of David's special ones that he makes," Amanda piped into the conversation with a knowing smile.
Leah chuckled, "I learnt it from the pro himself. Ain't that right, Dad?"
"Of course, sweetheart," David replied in agreement.
"Really? Can I try one?" You asked, curiously, wanting to try it for yourself to make sure it was really that good.
"Of course you can," David agreed, a fond smile on his lips, "Tell you what, I'll make you one tomorrow. How's that sound?"
"Deal!" You exclaimed.
You all reached the cafe and didn't waste time huddling inside of it, it was mostly quiet, with only a few other people sat down, and the smell of hot chocolate and fresh baked pastries filled the air, enough to make your mouth water.
"Right, you, come on let's go and find a table to sit down at," Jordan gestured you in the direction of a table in the far corner, big enough for the whole family.
"I'll go and order the drinks," Amanda made the decision, looking around everyone, "Hot chocolate, all round?"
"Yeah, please, Mum!" Leah agreed, steering the pushchair in a spot that wouldn't be in the way and Buddy could still sleep peacefully.
"Go on then!" Jacob didn't hesitate to agree, sliding into the empty seat on the other side of you, "Monkey, when you come round tomorrow, we have to play Fifa!"
"You're on!" You declared, nodding in agreement as the two of you just fell into conversation about the game.
A bit later on, you sat there with your warm hot chocolate in your hands while deep in thought. You weren't used to all these people around you and it feels somewhat strange, but also comforting as well.
"What're you thinking about, my girl?" Leah noticed your distant look, looping her free arm around your shoulder and pulling you in towards her.
"It's just, well it's weird, you know?" You mumbled, hesitant to speak your feelings into words.
Leah arched her eyebrow, "What is?"
"Havin' a family, like, a proper family," You admitted, your tone of voice quiet, afraid to say the wrong words to her, "I just... I just, I mean, I've never really had one before, it's always just been me and my dad, and now there's a lot of people around. They've welcomed me in, but they... they don't really know me, do they?"
Leah's expression softened, "They're getting to know you, Monkey, and they all love you," She explained in a gentle tone of voice, "And that's family, for you. You're one of us now, remember? You're a Williamson." She declared.
"Actually, love," Jordan interjected with a grin, "She's a Williamson-Nobbs, remember? Get it right."

Home for the Holidays
Summary: spending the holidays with one Touya Todoroki.
Touya/Dabi x gn!reader who grew up w Touya (childhood friends gotta be my favorite trope w him tbh)
fluff!
Warnings: language, implied murder (lol), crack behavior with a cheery twist bc Christmassss
a/n this has been in my drafts since early November lmao 😌
✦•······················•✦•······················•✦•······················•✦ Making cookies, buying presents, hanging lights, decorating trees, and drinking tons of hot cocoa was just a few of your favorite things about the holidays. But most times, you’d spend it with family, or, regrettably, alone.
That is, until Touya came back into your life.
When the two of you were kids, you’d always exchange gifts and enjoy the holidays together- he’d even attempt to make you hot chocolate whenever you came over and the wind brought a chill. But for a while, you’d thought you’d lost him. You’d been made aware of his accident only a few days before his funeral, something you’d never thought you’d have to attend so soon.
But, sometime after you’d gotten out of college- found your own place, settled in by yourself- he found you again, or rather you found him, because he knew where you were the entire time. It took you less than two seconds to recognize him in that dimly lit parking lot as you wandered out with your groceries, and this was something that both surprised and deeply touched him. Scars and all, he was still your best friend.
Needless to say though, you haven’t let him go since. It’s been a few months since then, and this was gonna be your first Christmas together in a long time. Even Touya was excited, though his expression of this fact was… not all there.
“Touya! Where have you been, I’ve been calling for hours!”
“Job. What is all this?”
he gestured to the various lights and Christmas decorations littering your apartment with a confused and almost disgusted expression, trying to hide the fact that these lights you’d hung were hitting him with wave upon wave of nostalgia. “I hung Christmas lights. without you. I tried to call but you wouldn’t pick u- what’s all over you!?”
“…blood”
“why exactly!?”
“job. You making cookies?”
He brushed off your concerns, a smirk on his stapled face as he kicked off his boots at your door and marched past you to the kitchen, where you’d been working on cookies for a while, prepping for a Christmas party with your friends.
“yes- ah! don’t touch”
you gently smacked his hand away from the freshly baked cookies, leading him to pout at you.
“what do i bother visiting you for if you won’t let me have cookies when you make em?”
“you’re here for cookies?”
“…is that a problem?”
After a few minutes of jabber back and fourth about cookies, you finally relented and let him have a few, a pleased little smile on his face when you did. Before you knew it, he’d popped a few ideas and now the two of you were bundled up with hot cocoa (that he prepared while chatting you up) and he was setting up a Christmas movie.
“Touya?”
“yeah?”
“I thought you were only here for cookies?”
You smiled as you spoke, watching him as he continued searching for a movie. His jaw tensed slightly, his eyes flickering with something much softer than you anticipated as he glanced back at you.
“well… maybe not just cookies.”
he started up your favorite Christmas movie, the one you always forced him to watch with you growing up. The one you two would cuddle up under blankets and watch all night as kids. Touya may be a villain, but he was a damn sentimental one.
“maybe i like your company…just a little bit.”
“awww you love me?”
You teased, a smile plastered on your face as he choked on his hot cocoa, glaring back at you, but you swore he was blushing a bit in the dim light of your newly set up Christmas tree.
“don’t push it, y/n… now shut up the movies starting”

Hellooo, I hope ur doing well ;) Can I request Bruce Wayne/Batman for the headcanon meme ? I know this is a lot and I apologise in advance lol, but I’m genuinely so interested about your takes on Bruce 🫶🏼 Hi anon, I hope you don't mind but I'm posting this as a text post so I can add a read more to it. Thank you so much for the ask, I'm honored that you're curious my HCs. Again thank you, and have a super rest of your day! 💖💖💖
• what religion are they? how do they practice? Canonically, I believe he was raised catholic, and identifies as an atheist because if there was an all knowing God, why would he let Gotham exist as it is?
But I’ve always had trouble rationalising religion in comics. I’m also an atheist but if I’d met/knew Gods literally walked the Earth (Zeus for example) I would be having a crisis of faith. Pretty sure Superman once met the Christian God? Bruce clearly has a stronger sense of belief than I.
So, practice wise; Growing up would be church on Sundays, grace before dinner. Nightly prayers. Once his parents had passed, while Bruce would be questioning his faith, I don’t think Alfred would have enforced such things if Bruce didn’t want to continue practicing.
• what holidays do they decorate for? For the longest time he didn’t decorate for any. Alfred decorated at least for Christmas every year, but Bruce stopped noticing once he became Batman.
It wasn’t until a young Dick mentioned he’d never been trick or treating that Bruce started to put the effort in. That year Dick had the best Robin Hood costume, Bruce dressed as Little John, and Alfred as Friar Tuck. Not only did Dick get to go trick or treating, but Bruce and Alfred decked out the front yard for any local kids too.
When thanksgiving rolled around, Alfred was delighted that Bruce seemed to care about it again, having gone out to buy new centre pieces. And that year was the first year since he was child that Bruce helped put up the Christmas decorations.
Every year he tried to one up the last, however, his presence on the day dwindles until Dick goes off to college and Bruce’s motivation to care about such frivolous things while Gotham needs him is gone. But this exact process repeats with every adopted child until there’s always somebody home, be they young and living with him or old and visiting.
• what clubs / sports were they involved in as a child / teenager When he dropped out of school, that also meant quitting any clubs and sports. The lack of team sports is probably a contributing factor to his inability to communicate well with others outside of strategy. However, prior to that he was a Cub Scout, as well as tennis and fencing (fuckin’ Rich kids).
Post homeschool (much like in the Gotham TV show) Alfred ensured Bruce was still doing outdoorsy activities; camping, hiking, learning survival skills. As well as Bruce insisting on multiple forms of combat training. He continued fencing.
• do they take any medications? No. That’s not to say he shouldn’t be on medication, he just doesn’t. Hard to speak to a professional when you can only tell them half of your life.
He does however take daily vitamins along with his protein, creatine etc. If he’s not taking supplements, Alfred is sneaking them into his food. He eats nothing but protein, gotta make sure he’s getting his nutrients somewhere.
• do they watch the olympics? do they prefer summer or winter Rarely has the time. But if and when he does sit down to watch I’d say his preferred watches are; tennis, fencing, boxing, and judo. Sports that mean something to him. For that reason he also prefers the summer games over winter.
• what are they like when they're sick? Nightmare. Alfred is a saint for putting up with it, honestly. That WFA comic where he’s trying desperately to get back to work whilest injured is 100% accurate to my imaginings. Even when he’s too sick to move, he’s still thinking up ways he can sneak out of bed, wondering if he should build a batlaptop for these sorts of occasions.
Crime is never sick; therefore Batman can’t be sick!
• what do they usually buy in a gift shop? It varies from place to place but typically:
Fridge magnet and/or some other small kitchen accessories for Alfred.
Stationary for Damian.
Preferably a cola drink, but if not a snack for Tim. He’s specifically looking for decorative packaging that can be saved. [See this Tim HC]
Pin badges for Babs.
Postcards for Dick.
An oversized hoodie for Cass. Black only.
An oversized hoodie for Steph. Tacky only.
Keying for Jason.
Puzzles or decorative decks of playing cards. (Duke is into tabletop card games, Bruce thinks they’re the same thing)
A coffee mug for himself.
• what color was their childhood bedroom? Blue, and it’s still blue but a lot of the furniture has changed. Can’t sleep in a kids bed forever.
Most of the new furniture is sleek, modern looking and black. He likes the gothic style, but this is where he often brings his dates/hook up, and the minimalist style suits his image better.
The old bed, desk, toy box etc haven’t been thrown out or anything, they’ve been used by most of his family as they’ve grown up and are currently in Damian’s room. Everyone who has used the desk (B included) has carved their their initials on the underside of it.
• what does a typical day off work look like for them? A day off? What’s that? Seriously, even if he’s not being Batman, he’s being Brucie, Mr Wayne, Matches, or Dad or even just working out.
On the rare, rare, rare occasions he’s not doing any of those things, the first thing he does is sleep in. He probably needs to sleep for 5 days straight, but he’ll only sleep until 10/11ish.
By now he’s missed breakfast (which is served from 8-9), so he’s latching onto the first person to pick up the phone and taking them out for brunch. By now he’s already itching to get back in the cave, and to thwart this he forces himself to stay in the city; go to a museum, walk in that park, visit a friend, go shopping for (another) new watch, anything but return home.
Will surprise Damian by picking him up from school. Damian, as he gets older externally complains and cringes more and more, but he loves it.
When they get home, he becomes a nuisance until dinner, offering help to everyone with anything to distract himself. It’s appreciated but nobody needs help with homework or housework.
After dinner is the home stretch, and the easiest part. He gathers as many people as he can in the family room for films or games, and by the time they’re done it’s bedtime.
He’s in the batcave at midnight.
• how many pillows do they sleep with? One. He has at least ten in the bed, every night she shifts all but his favourite to the floor, and every morning Alfred makes the bed and puts them all back and arranges them perfectly.
• what's their least favorite chore? He rarely does chores, but Alfred must have time off. The first time he took a week off since Bruce became Batman was the first time he realised the impracticality of having a CAVE! So much sweeping and dusting and everything smells damp, he has no idea how Alfred keeps it liveable because after 2 days Bruce was overwhelmed and ready to risk it all by moving everything upstairs.
• how often do they do their laundry? He doesn’t. If Alfred isn’t available, he’s been specifically instructed to take anything that needs cleaning to the dry cleaners. Not because he’s incapable of doing laundry, he’s not completely inept at doing normal things. He just thinks he can do it better. Which often results in the washer-dryer being ‘upgraded’ in ways that nobody ever needs, and Alfred hates it.
• what is their favorite wine / liquor? Prefers wine to spirits, specifically red. Or better yet, champagne.
When he does drink spirits he leans towards brandy, the same kind that his mother would drink.
• what is their favorite scent of candle? Citrusy, fresh scents. Something strong that pierced the musty smell of the Batcave or the damp of the city. Sage & citrus, lemon lime, maybe even mint cucumber.
• what's their guilty pleasure tv show? Again, he rarely watches TV. But I think at least once while on ordered bed rest he ‘accidentally’ watched every season of the Kardashian’s. He 'hated' every second.
He’s assigned all of his children a Kardashian and keeps up to date with every episode, just as a person who hates the show would do. He will never tell anyone else.
Tim knows. Bruce knows that Tim knows but they’ve never discussed it. Tim has never seen a single episode, but he’s seen memes, and will quote them in front of people to make Bruce sweat.
• have they ever done volunteer work? Bruce is a known philanthropist. The Wayne Foundation is a non-profit which primary cause is funding charities, hospitals, medical research, urban renewal, etc.
He puts a lot of money into The Wayne Hospital (or whatever its called dependant on the media). He also funds a lot of youth centres, and rehabilitation centres.
But as for actual hands-on charity work, no. It anything it would cause more harm than good.
Could you imagine being homeless, starving, at your lowest, and when you arrive there’s fucking media vans and photographers everywhere, cataloguing your worst? And then inside, the herald prince of the city that has screwed you over, billionaire Brucie Wayne is serving you ladles of dirt-cheap slop? You'd be mortified, pissed.
• do they listen to music or watch tv more often? Definitely music. TV is time consuming; music is easier to multi-task. I don't think he listens to much of anything other than classical and meditative music. Maybe some kind of classic rock workout playlist on Spotify that Babs occasionally hacks into and keeps adding back-to-back plays of Black Betty. Bruce gets so into his workouts that he doesn't notice until one day he realises he's done a 2-hour cardio session and Black Betty has been playing the entire time.
• do they watch the superbowl even if they aren't into football? Not into football and barely has the time. However, when it's football season, the men (and some women) in his social circles go crazy for it, so he keeps up with the matches through news reports and tries to watch the final, Batman missions permitting.
(Psst. I'm from the UK and know nothing about American football. I presume the Superbowl is preceded by a series of tournament matches like euro football (soccer) is?)
• do they collect anything? Children
Watches, and cars. Later in life, he's fixed on these things a lot more, because he's been collecting them for so long. But they started purely as a way to fit in with his high society peers. To make him appear more normal.
Imagine that scene in American Psycho where they're comparing busisness cards, but it's Gotham’s richest competing over who has the latest watch, the nicest vintage car etc. Now that he knows what he likes he's more focused in on those; he like vintage European watches and American cars.
I also love the idea that Dick once bought him an ugly novelty tie (completely earnestly) on like his second Christmas at the Manor, and that quickly became a tradition. Every year he gets a new tie, the most hideous the kids can find, and the following year, Bruce wears it during Christmas dinner.
• what hill are they willing to die on? Mint is the superior dessert flavour, milkshakes, ice cream, Oreos, coffee syrups. Dark chocolate and mint = peak.

I know it’s late foe Christmas, but maybe this with Bucky? Any Bucky you want. Reader didn’t celebrate Christmas the way Bucky did when he was small, so both reader and their kid are so excited for experiencing Christmas in a new way, choosing Christmas tree, decorating it, preparing gifts, having Christmas dinner, and so on.
Thanksssss!!!!
18+
NEVER TOO LATE, in fact there's just 357 days left until next Christmas, so lets get an early start shall we? This is not a late Christmas fic okay, we’re just super early.
So much flufffyyy fluffff and bonus smutttt (breeding kink, pregnancy kink)
Imagine Bucky loved Christmas when he was little because his Ma would always have the perfect dinner ready, a knitted sweater along with a few small presents under the tree. He’d leave milk and cookies out for Santa with his sisters and being the sweet big brother he is, he’d make sure to wake up in the middle of the night to drink half the glass and finish up what they’d left out.
As he got a little older, he got excited to be able to buy presents for them too. He’d save up for the entire year so he could get them something nice. He’d find the perfect doll for his sister, jewelry for his ma, a watch for his dad. He’d make sure Steve joined them every year along with his family.
He adores the holidays because it brings family together and now that he has one of his own and a home, he’s ready to go all in.
Buying the tree
Bucky grinned, carrying Becca on his shoulders while you walked though through the tree lot, inspecting which one would be the best for this year. You smiled at the scent of the fresh pine needles that lingered in the air. You couldn’t tell who was more excited; Bucky, you or your daughter. You walked past a number of them, some super tall, short, narrow and scanty.
“Daddy that one!” She pointed to a plump full tree, her tiny hands patting Bucky’s head so he’d know where to look. “That one please!”
“You like that one jellybean?” He walked over to the large tree, chuckling to himself hearing her excited sequels from above his head. After picking the tree, Bucky strapped it to the hood of the car, excited to go home and start decorating. He pulled up to the drive way, easily grabbing the tree and shaking it a few times while you gave him an odd look.
“Gotta shake it or we’ll have spiders in here” Bucky snorted, giving the tree a few more precautionary shakes, knowing full well if he failed to do so, he’d be on spider duty for the next week. The human spider he had to work with was enough for him.
“C’mon bub, lets get the durations out!” You scooped your daughter from her car seat, the both of you running into the house and changing into some comfy clothes before setting out some decorations and crafting supplies. Bucky brought the tree in, deciding to set it up in the living room near the fire place while Becca got started on crafting.
“This is the first real tree I’ve ever decorated” You looked at the perfect tree in awe, while Bucky smiled, kissing your temple and untangling the Christmas lights.
“What did you used to do for Christmas, baby?”
“Hmm, we always had a plastic tree” You thought back to the sad tree your family pulled out year after year, the scanty branches nearly nonexistent. “Never had a real one”
“Daddy, help me make a weindeer” Becca was splayed on the floor, felt sheets and markers surrounding her. You smiled, watching Bucky hold her tiny hand to trace the brown felt sheet, the both of them with identical expressions, fully focused on making the perfect reindeer decoration. By the end of the night, you had a felt snowman, felt reindeer and your absolute favorite; a little white wolf.
“Just like daddy” She grinned, handing it to him, insisting he put it up. Bucky swallowed the lump that tried to form in his throat, kissing her chubby cheek before carefully hanging it on the tree. “Can we put the star up now, please?”
“Of course angel” Bucky lifted her up, as she placed the star on top of the tree, his eyes wide with amazement at the finished Christmas tree.
Wrapping presents
You snorted, watching Bucky grumble under his breath, another piece of tape stuck to his arm while he tried to wrap Steve’s gift. Of all Christmas activities, wrapping gifts was his least favourite. He was happy to cut paper, ribbon and tape but he wasn’t a fan of figuring out how much paper you needed and why all of his folds were soo crooked.
“You okay there Buck?” you asked teasingly while he looked at you with puppy eyes, nudging the box towards you, hoping you’d finish while he focused on the gifts that went in bags. You wordlessly took the box, switching so he could add tissue paper to Tony’s bag instead.
“How ya doing there jellybean?” Bucky looked over his shoulder to see Becca huff on the floor, unrolling even more paper so she could wrap the skateboard she had picked out for Morgan.
“I can do it!” She stated, determined to wrap the present for her best friend all by herself without help.
You added name tags and bows to everything, using your husband as a human wall while you quickly got started on your daughters gift and she was thankfully too distracted to see what you had been up to. You had both bought her her first doll house, one that was as tall as her (there was no convincing Bucky to get a smaller one, his babygirl would get the nicest doll house to play with)
“You never told me what you wanted for Christmas doll” Bucky playfully nudged you while you giggled, adding a few bows to the gift.
“Hmm, do I get to have my super solider for Christmas this year? That’s all I really want” You look at him with hopeful eyes, worried a last minute mission would take him away.
“Nothing could take me from you on Christmas, I’ll be right under the tree with a bow in my hair if you asked me to baby” Bucky smiled, “Now what does my angel actually want” You shook your head, swatting him away as you started to clean the table. There truly wasn’t anything you wanted but to have him with you.
(Of course what you don’t know is he’s already wrapped your gift and hidden it in the closet)
Christmas Eve
“Does Santa like Oreo’s or Gingerbread men?” Becca rummaged through the boxes of cookies, carefully inspecting each one so she’d have the perfect assortment by the tree.
“I think Santa like’s chocolate chip cookies, maybe even some of the sugar ones and if you’re feeling generous tonight, maybe Santa would appreciate a glass of daddy’s special apple juice” Bucky
“That’s what you and mama like!” She got to work getting out two of each cookie before grabbing a glass for the milk. “Daddy you pour the apple juice”
“Oh my god” You snorted while Bucky grinned to himself, adding a glass of whisky beside the milk.
“Time for bed now baby, Santa will only come by if you’re asleep” Your baby gave you grabby hands, happily cuddling into you while you carried her to her room, tucking her into the sheets.
You went back down, giggling when you say Bucky with a Santa hat, munching on the cookies, patting on the seat for you to join him while he sipped on the dark liquid.
“Naughty Mr. Clause” You pecked a kiss onto his nose, squeaking when he pulled you onto his lap.
“Naught for you Mrs. Clause” He winked, bringing you down for a kiss, the both of you cuddling by the fire place. He couldn’t help but run his hands through your hair, humming at the softness of your lips, chasing more of you each time you pulled away for air.
“What if Becca wakes up” You panted, your forehead resting on his.
“Then she’ll understand the song I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” He smirked, pulling you in for another kiss.
Christmas day
“Merry Christmas sweet heart” Bucky mumbled, his voice still low and laced with sleep. He slung his arm around, pulling you close so he could cuddle with you for a while before opening presents. He whined as you wiggled out of his hold to grab him something from the closet, stroking his hair to coax him awake.
“I wanted to give this to you now” You whispered, placing a soft wrapped gift on his lap as he sat up, curiously inspecting the present. His eyes grew wide as he took apart the paper, a thick warm knitted sweater with the initials JBB embroidered on the inside of the neckline. “I made it for you, just like how you Ma used to”
Bucky blinked back the tears that welled in his eyes, running his hand over the soft material. Ever since he had been telling you about all the Christmas traditions he had with his family, you wanted to give Bucky something that came from his childhood.
“I love you” Was all Bucky could muster, biting his lip, throwing it on before kissing you deeply and then slipping out of bed to get Becca.
Your eyes grew wide at the large pile of presents, there were easily 6 more than what you had remembered.
“Bucky, what-”
Bucky gave you a cheeky smile, proud of himself for sneaking away as you slept, placing the extra presents under the tree in the middle of the night.
“Merry Christmas mama!” You felt her tiny arms wrap around you thighs, her face squished against them.
“Merry Christmas babygirl” You kissed the top of her head, her full focus on the large pile of gifts under the tree.
“May I open them now?” She bounced on her heels, “Please?”
She didn’t waste a second as soon as you nodded, grabbing the large red box with her name on it, squealing and jumping into your laps, peppering as many kisses as she could on both of you.
“Mama, daddy, you bought me a doll house?!” Her large eyes twinkled, her hands grasping onto Bucky’s cheeks.
“Do you like it bub” He smiled while she scrambled out of his lap to assemble it. You shook your head at the little pile of gifts that all had your name on it while Bucky waited for you to open them, excited to see you smile.
“Bucky, what did you do” You shook your head, gasping as you opened the first box; a dainty gold chain sitting on a velvet cushion.
“Spoiling my little girl and my wife” He shrugged, taking the chain out of the box so he could clasp it around your neck. “Here, I think you’ll like this one the most” He grabbed the last bag, plopping it onto your lap, his heart racing as he watched you pull off the tissue paper. You gasped, pulling out a soft blue teddy bear that was made from the material of one of his Henley's.
“My ma used to make them if we couldn’t fit into our shirts anymore. I know you like to wear them but I thought you might like this too” He blushed, while you looked at him with teary eyes, clutching the bear to your chest. “Maybe he can keep you company when I go on long missions”
“I love it so much James” You kissed his scruffy cheek, bringing the bear to your face, humming contently at the way his scent lingered on the material. “and I love you”
Christmas dinner
Bucky poured drinks while you carried appetizers to and from the kitchen; the house filled with music, laughter and all of the team and their families. The kids had gathered by the TV to watch a movie while everyone else piled in your living room, a mass of wrapping paper and ribbons all over the place from unwrapping more presents.
You giggled to yourself, watching Sam and Steve team up with Tony and Nat for an intense game of flip cup; Thor made sure he brought bottles of mead so the super soldiers could drink.
“Someone looks happy” You snorted as Bucky made his way over to you, a goofy grin plastered on his face.
“Very happy angel” He pulled you to a quiet corner to sneak a few minutes with you, his hands roaming up and down your waist before playfully grabbing your ass. “Can’t keep my hands to myself when you’re walking around tempting me in this dress”
“Trying to have fun already?” You sassed, poking his side. He pulled you flush against him, inhaling the sweet scent of your perfume, enjoying the warmth of your body. He peeked up for a moment to check on the guests, his heart swelling with seeing everyone together. At his home. With his family.
“YO BARNES STOP DRAGGING YOUR WIFE TO THE MISTLE TOE AND BE MY PARTNER” Bucky snorted hearing Sam’s voice carry through the corridor, reluctantly pulling away from you. “I’ll have to sneak you away again in a bit doll” He kissed you once more before joining by Sam’s side.
Of course the rest of the night goes by with more antics, plenty of food, more of sneaky love struck Bucky and you both wouldn’t have it any other way. After everyone had left, you curled up on the couch with Bucky, Becca tucked to your side, nodding off, her eyes heavy with sleep.
“Hmm, bed time bug” Bucky plucked Becca from your lap, carrying her over to her room and tucking her in carefully. He kissed her forehead while she snuggled into her sheets, cuddled up with her newest falcon plushie.
“Night daddy”
“Sleep tight baby” Bucky was about to make his way out until he heard her little voice again.
“Daddy?” He turned around to see her curious face thinking about what she wanted to ask, blinking up at him before speaking. “Can Santa bring me a brother?”
“A brother?”
“Uh huh. We don’t get to see Cass and AJ or Morgan all the time. I have no one to play with at home”
Bucky melted at her pouty face and puppy eyes, a signature look she had 100% inherited from him. He chuckled, giving her one last kiss before turning on her night light.
“Maybe for next Christmas, does that sound good?”
Bonus: Making Becca’s second gift
You were curled up in bed with a book while Bucky walked in, quietly closing the door behind him.
“Y’know, Becca actually wanted a different Christmas gift” Bucky wiggled his eyebrows while you cocked your head, gasping when he grabbed your thigh and pulled you to lie down against the pillows. He crawled on top of you, setting your book aside before settling himself between your legs causing your oversized t-shirt to ride up.
“Yeah? And what’s that”
“She wants a little sibling to play with” Bucky smirked, trailing a few featherlight kisses on your neck.
“Does she now?” You could feel your heartrate pick up, warmth already pooling between your legs.
“She does” He ran his tongue down the column of your neck. His cock was hard, pressing against your needy core, gently rocking his hips, groaning at the way your thighs squeezed around him. You moaned, spreading your legs further for him, bucking your hips up slightly to chase the friction of his cock rubbing on you. “What do you think mama? One more?”
“One more” You whimpered, desperate to have him in side you. Bucky sat back on his heels, pulling up you to strip your shirt off, and raising your hips to toss your panties away. He wasted no time throwing his boxers off, settling between your legs again, rubbing his bare cock against your entrance.
“You gonna let me put a baby in you?” There was no time for foreplay or prepping for tonight, the both of you now desperate. You whined, frantically nodding, waiting for Bucky to do something but he clicked his tongue, shaking his head. “Say it, tell me what you want me to do”
“Put a baby in me daddy” You moaned, clinging your arms around his neck, your arousal soaking the tip of his cock.
“You want daddy to put a baby in you?” He nudged the tip inside, teasing you, loving the way your eyes pleaded with him, your desperate moans spurring him on more.
“Please? Please daddy”
“Don’t worry doll, m’right here” You both gasped at the feeling of him filling you, inch by inch until he was fully seated inside you. “M’right here angel” Bucky could feel his cock already throb, the very idea of getting you pregnant again made him extra sensitive.
“Move Bucky, please” He started to slowly rock his hips, placing soft kisses along your hairline, resting his forehead against yours. He loved the feeling of your arms wrapped around his body, your legs tight around his waist. He loved the sweet sounds that left your lips, moaning with you over how perfect you felt, how desperately in love he was with you.
“M’so lucky, you know that doll?” He pulled up slightly to look at your eyes, rolling his hips a little faster, chasing more of your warmth “Can’t believe your my wife, mother of my child-fuck-how did I get so lucky”
“I l-love you” Your nails dug into his back, pulling him so his full body weight was on you, the coil in your belly already starting to build feeling him so close. Bucky groaned, giving you deeper thrusts, angling his hips slightly to pull all the way out before slamming back in. You cried out in pleasure, his lips coming down to swallow your moans while he started to drip in your cunt. “Want a baby like you Bucky”
“Yeah? You want a little baby like me?” Your words made his cock throb, nearly cumming on the spot while you gazed at him with heart eyes, nodding while moving your hands to cup his face.
“Fuck-just like you Bucky!”
“Wanted-fuck-wanted to make love to you baby, get you pregnant with my babies while I feel all over you but you make it so hard baby, I just-I just-m’already gonna fucking cum, you feel so good”
“Oh fuckkk-keep-keep going Bucky don’t st-stop” You could feel the hair at the base of his cock rub against your clit, the veins in his cock pulsing.
“Never, I love making babies with you, mama” He panted against your neck, his hand coming to lace with yours, pinning the on the bed. “Prettiest mama ever, not gonna be able to keep my hands to myself when you’re pregnant angel, tellin you right fucking now, m’gonna fuck you and make love to you even when your all swollen and round”
You moaned, your pussy clenching and fluttering at his words while he lost himself further, grunting and panting with each thrust.
“You feel that huh? How hard my cock is for you baby, fuck-how swollen it is when I get to knock this pretty pussy up”
“Get me pregnant Buckyyy” You could feel your orgasm right on edge, your pussy gripping onto his cock with a vice like hold.
“Yeah? Daddy’s gonna get you pregnant angel, can fell my balls throbbing-shit-so heavy baby-almost hurts”
“Cum daddy, cum in me” Your needy voice threw Bucky over the edge, his pace growing sloppy. His hands moved to wrap around your body, holding you as close to him as possible, the head of his cock desperate to release.
“M’gonna get you pregnant baby-fuck get ready, gonna cum, gonna fucking CUM OH FUCKKK-” Bucky stilled, moaning into your neck, struggling to keep his voice low, as his cock spilled endless ropes of cum into you. He could feel each spurt make his cock jump, grinding his hips into you, pushing you against the mattress, making sure you got every single drop.
“Take alll my cum sweets, take it” Bucky kept his cock in you, his hand snaking down to rub your clit. His eyes locked with yours, pupils blown with lust and love as you bit down on his shoulder, your orgasm crashing down on you. “Thats it, cum when you’re all nice and full of me baby” Bucky groaned feeling your walls pull and clench around his softening cock. “God that feels good” The both of you took a moment to catch your breath, cuddled under the sheets, with kisses in between.
“So, we’ll have a little Bucky around for next Christmas?” Bucky smiled down at you, softly caressing your body while you laid on his chest.
“Hmm, we just might” You giggled, nodding, shifting up slightly so you could kiss him. You squealed as he grabbed you, rolling you over so you were under him again, his cock hardening almost instantly.
“James!”
He bit his lip, thrusting into you again as your eyes rolled back, he was going to make sure you were pregnant by the end of the night.
“I mean, our princess did ask for a sibling and she gets what she wants...”

A Normal Christmas (Riff Lorton x OC) *Christmas Special* 🎄
Summary: Riff has never had a ‘normal’ Christmastime, so his girlfriend takes him around to finally get a Christmas tree.
“Wait. What?” I ask in a deadpan tone.
“You hoid me,” Riff replies from the couch. “Never had a tree.”
I blink, my jaw still dragging on the floor. It’s currently December 23, and every time I’ve visited Riff this month I keep waiting for him to get a tree for his apartment. And there’s still no tree! I got so anxious I finally just flat-out asked him why he hadn’t got one yet, only to find out he had no clue why he needed a Christmas tree.
“How are you so calm about this? How have you never had a tree?” I ask with wide eyes.
Riff lets out a deep sigh and shuffles over to the kitchen. “I donno. It’s just…” He scratches his head. “My family’s never really done Christmas.”
I scrunch my nose. “Never done Christmas? How does that even happen-? Oh.” My face falls and realization washes over me.
Riff chuckles. “Grow’n up with little spare change can’t really buy Christmas. After my dad died I just sorta forgot about it. I know it’s supposed to be all grand and exciting, but to me Christmas is just like any odda holiday.”
“Oh my God. Riff, I’m so sorry.” I walk over and take his hand. “I’m sorry Christmas isn’t as special for you. It’s a time-a year that’s supposed to be with family and friends, good food and decorations…” An idea pops into my head and I start dragging him to the door.
“Wait- Wha-? Holly, whaddya doing?” Riff tries to ask.
“All this mope’n around stops now.” I open the door and grab my coat. “Tonight I’m gonna take you to get a Christmas tree.”
The handsome Jet chuckles and tries to wave it off. “That’s real sweet-a ya, Holy. But you don’t gotta-”
“Yes I do!” I stop to face him when we reach the stairwell. “Riff, you’ve never had a real Christmas your whole life. I wanna make it up to you because I luv you. Please?”
Riff goes to argue, but when he sees my pleading eyes he shuts his mouth and rethinks. Instead of answering, Riff wraps me into a tight hug.
“Gee, doll. I donno how to thank you.”
I smile. “You can thank me by helping me carry the tree home. Now let’s go!”
The nearest tree lot is only a few blocks away, and as soon as we enter the gate Riff is already confused.
“So they chop the trees down, drive them here and just… leave them out?”
I nod as I look over a nice and sturdy spruce. “Yeah. Since folks in the city don’t got nearby woods, it’s easier to bring them here. Whaddya think-a this one?”
Riff takes a good look at the pinetree I’m presenting that’s almost as tall as me. “Is it supposed to be small?”
My smile falters by a fraction. “Well… not really. But the bigger the tree the bigger the price. I can only afford a table topper tree.”
The Jet scrunches his face. “A table topper tree? What the heck does that mean?”
“It’s a tree that rich folks put on their dining tables for decoration.”
Riff’s jaw drops. “You mean that whole tree goes on a flip’n table? Jeez, this tradition is weird.”
“Do you mind the small one?” I ask in an uneasy tone.
“I think it’s poifect, Holly.” Riff gets a grateful smile on his face. “Now let me hold up my end-a the bargain and carry it home.”
“Let’s hurry!” I start to shiver. “I hoid there’s supposed to be snow tonight.”
Back at Riff’s apartment we find a spot for the tree by the window. Since it’s small we only have to use cinder blocks to keep in place. Once we’ve finished, Riff gets an odd look.
“Looks good, right?
I smirk and start pull’n out the box I brought from home. “We ain’t done yet, Lorton. We gotta decorate it.”
“With wha-? Oh my God. How much did you bring?”
I let out a carefree laugh as I set out strings of popcorn, a few cheap ornaments, some tinsel, and an old angel.
“A few things from home. I made the angel when I was a kid. And-” I skip over and hand the angel to Riff. “You get to put it on the top!”
Riff gently takes the angel as if I’d just given him a hundred dollars.
“Holly, this… this is the greatest gift ever. Thank you!”
I let out a laugh. “Riff, I’ll admit your gratefulness and enthusiasm is appreciated, but it’s just an angel.”
He gawks at me and sets the angel down, then cups my face in his hands.
“Holly, this ain’t just an angel. It’s you give’n me a real Christmas that’s so special. I don’t even know what gift to get you to say thank-you.”
I wrap my arms around his head and press a kiss on his cheek. “You already did, Riff. You gave up rumbles, you made peace with the Jets. Just the assurance of know’n you’ll come home in one piece is a gift in itself.”
We each lean in to hug, a few seconds go by, and Riff stays silent. After a while I feel him starting to shake and move away to see tears streaming down his worn face.
“I- You- This… I donno what to say, Holly.” He looks to me as a lost sheep who found its shepherd.
I use my thumb to wipe away his tears. “A simple Merry Christmas is plenty enough. Just remember to be the grateful man I know you are, especially around this holy season.”
Riff chokes down more tears and whispers: “Merry Christmas, Holly. I luv you.”
“I know. I luv you too, Jet boy. Now let’s finish decorating this tree before you eat all the popcorn!” I hold up a finger before Riff can argue. “Don’t think I can’t see you snacking on it behind my back! It ain’t for eating, it’s for decoration.”
Riff rolls his eyes. “Alright, alright. Do I still get to eat the cookies you brought over?”
My grin widens. “Yes! I’ll go get them, be right back!” I dash into the kitchen and retrieve a red tin from the counter, then turn around to find that Riff has followed behind me and is waiting with a puppy-eyed expression.
“Can I have a cookie, please?”
The scene almost makes me burst out laugh’n. “The once vicious, fearless Jet leader is begging me for a cookie? Wow, times have changed!”
Riff shows mock offense and tackles me in a hug. “They’re your Christmas cookies, and the best ones I’s ever tasted. Now will ya let me have one or will I have to use other methods to get one?” He starts tickl’n my sides and I go into spasms of laughter.
“Riff Lorton- stop- Stop it! Here here- take it!” I cackle as I shove over the cookie tin. Riff removes the lid and his eyes light up at the sight-a the bright-frosted cookies. “There. Happy now-? Oh!” Before I finish, Riff shoves a cookie into my mouth and then takes one for himself.
“Oh my God,” he mumbles as his eyes roll back in pleasure. “This is without a doubt the best thing you’s ever baked, Holly.”
After I’ve chewed and swallowed my cookie I give his hand a squeeze. “Thank you, Riff. Now that you’s had your sugar high can we finish decorating?”
Instead of answering, Riff sweeps me up and carries me back to the tree. “‘Course we can, doll. Just curious- whadda we do once it’s decorated?”
“You put gifts under it and open them on Christmas morning,” I explain as I resume hanging ornaments.
“Oh. Alright.” I feel Riff come up behind me and outta nowhere he rolls me beneath the branches. “There! You’re my gift, Holly!”
I blink. His pun is sweet, but the thought-a be’n Riff’s Christmas gift is even sweeter.
“You’re my gift too, Riff.” I take his hand and bring him closer to join me under the beautiful but humble tree. “Merry Christmas, Jet boy.”
Riff pecks my lips and gives me a genuine smile. “Merry Christmas, darling.”

Christmas Joy
Christmas Time HCs
(Chamber, Cypher, Fade, Reyna)
A/N : MERRY CRISIS
CW : Christmas?, Eating (Reyna), kissing/hinted innuendos, GN!Reader
Chamber :
He’s going to get you a bunch of gifts!!
I feel like he’s not the type of guy to decorate as much but he’ll get a tree. If you want to decorate he will buy you whatever you wish!
He DOES have the money but I feel that he’s more of a thoughtful gift-giver. Expect trinkets and stuff that reminds him of you! And OF COURSE, a gun! He made it to match with his!
Overall, it’s going to be a pretty chill christmas. He lets you call the shots and lounges with a huge grin on his face. He loves seeing you so happy :)
“Open your gifts, mon chou. I want to see how you like them.” Chamber waved you off the couch to sit next to the tree. Your hands wandered along the precisely wrapped gifts, giving him a warm smile.
“You didn’t have to get me all of this! You’re too kind, Vin.”
The two of you sat for quite a while, going through gifts and giving eachother small kisses. You had expected a different outcome than the thought out gifts. This was your first Christmas with Vincent after all! He had seemed more the type of guy to go expensive but, boy were you wrong. Your heart swelled at the thought of him caring for you, turning to kiss his soft cheek.
“Merry Christmas. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Cypher :
MAN.
He makes little christmas lights out of his old camera parts. The whole bedroom looks like it was straight out of Wall-E.
“Baby it’s very uhh.. Festive!” “Yes, I know. I am too good.” (Smack that sarcastic bastard)
He gets you two a bunch of ‘christmassy’ teas to try as well. Gotta stay warm!
The presents are really sweet as well! He makes you some homemade tech to always have your back! As he said, “I need you to always be safe. Even when my eyes are down, my love.”
Give this man some love and that’s all he could ask for as a gift!
“I-What is this?” Your eyes raised as you walked into your shared bedroom. Old green and red lights on wrapped wire littered the ceiling, looking straight out of Cypher’s dump bin.
“It’s lights! You told me you wanted the room to be festive.” Cypher shrugged in response, continuing to type away at his keyboard.
As much as the lights were ugly, you had to praise him for the effort.
“Wow. How.. Festive. Great job, love.” You leaned down to kiss his temple, holding in a chortle. Your boyfriend was something else.
Fade :
I just imagine her getting you two matching sweaters! (She got Omen to knit them)
Much like Cypher, I feel that she’s a huge fan of warm drinks. She makes hot cocoa and tea! Whatever you wish for is her command :^)
Definitely over decorates the tree and makes cookies! “If Santa won’t eat them then we will!”
Lots of cuddling in blankets and hugs. She craves your attention! (She is very touch deprived, indulge her <3)
She gets you some new clothes & hobby items! She has a keen eye to stuff you like/need.
“Baby, you’re gonna suffocate me!” You squeaked out as Fade’s arms tightened around you. The air was frosty and the two of you laid in bed cuddling.
“No no, don’t be dramatic! You love it.” She graced your face with light kisses, small laughs leaving her mouth in the process. You could only grin at the sight of her so happy, glad to be such a source of joy for her.
“Yeah, whatever you say.” You leaned in, meeting her lips. She separated quickly, face red.
“A little warning would be nice! Whatever.. I guess it is Christmas. That’s your gift though.” She narrowed her eyes in mock sarcasm as the two of you just laughed. This would be a Christmas to remember.
Reyna :
PLEASE.
She sets up mistletoe everywhere. Like you can’t take a step without seeing her smug grin. “Oh my.. I think you owe me a kiss.” “Rey, please. I’ve given you ten. I need to get a drink!”
She cooks a LOT on Christmas day. I feel like she loves the feeling of you being full & happy with everything. Good food and presence makes the best day!
“I don’t need gifts. You didn’t have to spend this money on me!” She tries to deny them but it fills her heart with joy. She’s honored that you got her such thoughtful gifts <3
She got you a lot of items for missions & some.. ‘Other’ items. “It’s a joke! Or was it..”
“This is so good, babe! You should make this more often.” You praised your girlfriend, digging into the food. Reyna only hummed, smiling at your hunger.
“I am glad you like it. There is enough for a few days. We will have to open presents after you are done.” The woman rubbed at your back, setting down a drink for you. You hadn’t expected such a huge meal for Christmas morning but Reyna did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the two of you enjoyed eachothers presence.
After you two had finished eating, Reyna’s arms circled around you.
“Come, let’s go open gifts. I want you to see what I got you.” Her voice was laced with a dangerous note, sending electric shocks down your body. Soft lips brushed your jawline as the woman pulled you into the living room.
“Should I be scared?” You asked.
The only response you got was another kiss and a maniacal laugh.
Yeah, you should be scared.

Trusting Again | chapter 009: Christmas
Word count: 2208
series masterlist • previous chapter • next chapter
“Do we really need to buy all this?” Bucky said from behind me
I turned around and looked at him. “Yes, it’s Christmas.”
“Christmas where? We don’t even have any presents.”
“We don’t need presents to celebrate Christmas.” I grabbed a pancake box and put it in the basket that he was holding
“The house isn’t even decorated.”
I looked at him folding my arms. “Would you stop being so grumpy? You’re ruining the Christmas spirit.”
“I’m not grumpy.” He rolled his eyes
“Yes, you are.” I said as I continued walking
It’s been like a week and a half since we came to Denmark and yes, we are staying for what’s left of the year, obviously. And Nick is still trying to find us a place so we gotta be patient. But I like it here, it hasn’t been bad. Nick is coming back tomorrow even tho he was gonna be out of the country for work, but I basically gaslighted him telling him that he probably won’t see his precious legal daughter for a while and so now he’s coming to spend Christmas here. Tomorrow’s Christmas, by the way.
And right now I’m with Bucky at a supermarket buying stuff for a “Christmas dinner”. I was gonna bring Sam, but he was taking a nap and Steve was cutting some wood for the fireplace so I had to drag Bucky along since none of them, including Nick, want me going out of the house alone.
“Only thing left is the pie.” I looked at the small piece of paper where I wrote the list of things to buy
“Well come on, let’s get it.”
“They don’t have pie.” I scrunched the paper into a ball “We walked right past the section and there wasn’t any.”
“Well then we have to make it.”
“I don’t know how to make pie.” I looked at him
“You made cinnamon rolls the other night.”
“Well yeah, cinnamon rolls are different and easier, I’ve never made a pie before.”
“Pumpkin pie it’s a must have at Christmas dinners.”
“I don’t think we’re gonna find a pumpkin pie here and if you haven’t noticed, we’re in the middle of nowhere basically, we’re not gonna be able to find pumpkin pie close.”
“Then we have to make the pumpkin pie, Lina.” He said
I sighed. “Bucky, I’ve never made pie before.”
He shrugged. “How hard could it be?”
“Why don’t you make it then?” I crossed my arms
“I’ll help you, I don’t mind.”
“You can’t retract it.” I pointed my finger at him
He rolled his eyes. “I won’t.”
“Okay, then let’s buy what we need to make the fucking pie.”
We walked around the supermarket looking for the ingredients and when we had everything, I went to pay and we left. It was snowing a little and of course we came walking, it’s just like 10 minutes.
“I love snow, but I can’t wait to leave Denmark.” I said trying to catch up with Bucky
“I don’t really like it.” He replied “Nor the cold, really.”
“Why? It’s amazing.”
“Don’t know, ptsd maybe.”
“Oh.” Was the only thing I said “Shit, sorry.”
“It’s fine, don’t worry.” He said “I used to like snow tho.”
“You can’t tell me you hate it.”
He let out a light chuckle. “No, of course I don’t hate it, I just don’t enjoy the cold anymore.”
“Understandable.” I nodded “Well I love cold but summer is my favorite season.”
“Why?”
“Well for starters, my birthday is in summer.” I said “And I just love the beach too much, I go every year.”
“And when’s your birthday?” He asked
“July 7th.” I replied
“Close to Steve’s.”
“Yeah, we’ve celebrated it together before.”
“Really? That’s nice.”
“Should we make the pie first?” I looked at him
“Well I’m getting kinda hungry, so no.”
“At night?”
He nodded. “I think it’ll be better, yeah.”
“Alright then.”
(…)
*hours later maybe idk*
“Should I dye my hair?” I looked at the boys
We just finished eating by the way, we ate in the living room since we were watching a movie.
Steve lifted his head to look at me. “You wanna dye your hair?”
“I don’t know, I kinda want to because of all the shit that’s been happening.”
“Well what color? Wanna go blonde like Natasha?” Sam asked
“Nah, I already did blonde.” I shook my head “I bought bleach and a red hair dye but I’m not sure, I’ve never been redhead before.”
“I think it’ll suit you.” Bucky said
“I don’t know, I’m scared of fucking it up.”
“Well if you do, you can dye it back dark I guess.” Steve shrugged
“Yeah, guess you’re right.” I sighed “I don’t know, maybe I’ll do it.. maybe I won’t, I’m not sure yet.” I said getting up from the couch
I went to the kitchen and washed my plate. I was drying my hands with a napkin when Bucky came into the kitchen with his empty plate in his hand.
“Wanna do the pie now?” I asked him
“Absolutely.” He nodded
I giggled. “I love how excited you are about it.”
“Of course, it’s pumpkin pie.” He said and I chuckled
I took out all the ingredients we bought earlier today and placed them all on the counter. I grabbed Nick’s laptop and had to google how to make pumpkin pie and we just started doing it step by step.
(…)
“Is it done?” Bucky asked looking into the oven
“I think it is.” I replied putting the oven mitts on “Watch out, you can burn yourself.” I gave him a small pat on the shoulder and he moved, then I opened the oven
I took out the pie and placed it on the counter.
“Does it look done?” I asked taking off the mitts
“It looks done to me.” He nodded “I wanna try it, it looks good.”
“It needs to cool down.”
“Then put it in the fridge.”
“Google said we can’t, it has to cool down at room temperature.”
“Oh my god, are you serious?” He rolled his eyes “For how long?”
“Like two hours.” I replied “So I’m just gonna leave it here and I’m gonna take a shower.”
“What if I put it outside?” He said and we both looked at each other
“I don’t know.” I frowned a little “Google said that cooling the pie too quickly can make it sink and we don’t want that.”
“Two hours is too long.”
“Just do something, time goes by fast.”
He rolled his eyes. “I hope.”
(…)
It’s been like three hours, literally. After we got the pie out of the oven, I went to take a shower and when I got out, Bucky was watching a movie with Steve in the living room so I just went to Sam’s room and we’ve just been talking for a while.
“Hey, I forgot to tell you.” He walked over to one of his bags and took out something that I couldn’t really see from the bed
“What?” I asked
He turned around and showed me the disposable camera I bought months ago in Cuba. Sam knows I love to take pictures of everything and just have them to remember the moments so we decided to buy some disposable cameras. And we did used them, there’s one that’s full already and we never got to develop the pictures.
“Oh my god, you brought them?!” I looked at him
“Yes, of course.” He nodded bringing the two cameras to me “We have to get this one developed, it’s full.” He showed me one of the cameras
“And this one only has one left!” I said
“Oh give me that.”
He took the camera and he winded the little thingy until we heard a click.
“Come on, hurry.” He got up from the bed “We need a group picture with the two grandpas.”
I chuckled. “Oh I like that.”
He ran out of the room and I just followed him downstairs.
“We got one picture left so we’re taking it now.” Sam sat next to steve
“Oh no.” Steve said
“Oh yes.” I said plopping down between Steve and Bucky
“Cameras weren’t like that last time I saw them.” Bucky said moving a little so I can be more comfortable
“Yeah, and there are more a little more complicated than that one.” Steve replied
“Alright, are y’all ready?” Sam asked lifting his arm “On three, one.. two.. three.”
“Say panties!” I added
“Panties!” Sam and Bucky said and Sam took the picture
“Oh my god.” Steve rolled his eyes and we laughed
“Now we have to find some place to develop the pictures.” I said getting up from the couch
“Where did you get that?” Steve asked looking at me
“We bought it in Cuba, we have another one but that one is also full.” I explained “But we never went to develop the pictures so now we’re stuck with two full cameras.”
“We can go and have them develop before we leave Denmark.” Sam looked at me
“We could.” I nodded “Well anyways, I’m gonna serve myself a piece of pie, y’all want some?”
“Hell yeah, are you kidding?” Bucky said getting up from the couch
“What about you?” I looked at Sam and Steve
“Well a slice wouldn’t hurt.” Steve shrugged
“I want one too.” Sam added
“Fine, but you’re coming to get your plates.l I told them
Bucky and I went to the kitchen and first I cut a slice for Sam and one for Steve before Bucky and I cut ourselves some.
“It smells good.” Bucky said taking a piece with his spoon and he then ate it
“It does.” I nodded “How is it?”
“It’s amazing.” He replied
“Is it really?” I asked taking a piece from mine
“Yeah.” He nodded
I ate the piece on my spoon and it tasted pretty damn good not gonna lie.
“Oh it is good.” I said with my mouth full
He chuckled. “It is.”
“I remember my grandma used to make pie.” I said “But it doesn’t taste as good as hers.”
“Yours is very good tho.”
“Thanks.”
“Can I ask you something?”
“You ask too much, Barnes.” I tilted my head
“What? I’m a curious guy.” He shrugged
I chuckled. “Go ahead.”
“Have you looked for them?” He asked
“Who?”
“Your family.” He replied
“No, uh.. I haven’t, actually.”
“Why not?”
“I just.. I don’t know, I kinda assumed they might think I’m dead so.” I shrugged
“But you’re not.” He said “Don’t you think it’ll be nice for them to know that?”
“I’ve actually never thought about this.”
“Why?”
“It just didn’t seem like a possibility.” I replied “I spent six years in another country, doing things that they’re not gonna be proud of so I just decided to forget about it because I didn’t see me getting out.”
“But you are now.”
“Well.. things are not looking too good right now either.”
“But you know what I mean.” He said “You got out, you’ve been living your life and you’re physically okay.”
“Yeah, guess you’re right.”
“Aren’t you a little curious?”
I sighed. “I don’t know..”
“If there’s a possibility that your sister’s still alive, wouldn’t you like to know about her?”
“I would.. more than anything.”
“Don’t you think your family would too?”
“I don’t know.. it’s been too long.” I sighed “What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Could some of your family still be alive?”
“Well I got Steve.” He said and that honestly warmed my heart
I smiled. “Well yeah, but you know what I mean.”
“I don’t think so, no.” He shook his head
“You said you had sisters.” I crossed my legs
“Yeah.”
“Well?”
“Well what?”
“What if at least one is alive?”
“Lina, it’s almost 2017, I don’t think they are.”
“You don’t know that.”
“There’s a high possibility that they’re not.”
“You’re very pessimistic, you know that?” I crossed my arms
“I’m not pessimistic, I’m being realistic.”
“But you don’t know that for sure.” I said “Why don’t you try?”
“Okay, if I agree, you have to do it too.” He said
“Bucky, I..”
“Bucky, I agree too.” He said and I just sat there, he stared at me waiting for me to speak “Come on, say it.”
I let out a sigh. “Okay, fine! I agree too.”
“See? That wasn’t so hard.”
I rolled my eyes. “Shut up.”
“You gonna dye your hair or what?”
“I don’t know, it’s a big step.”
“Oh please.” He huffed “You said you’ve been blonde before.”
“Yeah, like, really blonde.” She said “I bleached my hair.”
“Then do it again.”
“But those were other times.” She rolled her eyes
“How long ago was it?”
“Like three or four years ago.”
“You’re not staying blonde, you’re dying it red.”
“I’m scared!”
“Oh my god.” He rolled his eyes “Just do it.”
“It’s a big step! I’m not just gonna “do it”, I need to really think about it, what if I don’t like it?”
“If it’s any help, I don’t think you’re gonna look bad at all.”
“That’s nice of you to say, great way to start being an optimist.”
He chuckled. “Sure.”

December 6th
pairing: Javier Peña x reader
warnings: fluff, allusions to smut
words: 618
a/n: this one was prompted by my dear @terryboot (little reminder that holiday/winter blurb requests are open this month 👀) gotta say this ended up softer and less silly than expected but Javi is a sweetheart
Full List
🌨️🌨️🌨️
“Are you sure you want that to go there?”
You turned and looked incredulously at Javi, standing a few feet behind you with his hands on his hips. He was looking at the garland that you were putting up on the mantle of the fireplace. This was the first thing he had even chimed in on, focusing mostly on the football game, since he had carried in the boxes of decorations.
“What? What’s wrong with putting it here?” you asked petulantly, flashing back to years of your parents bickering while putting up the Christmas decorations. Divorced parents, and not very happy memories.
“Well you said you wanted to light a fire in there on the nights it gets real cold, right? It would probably be best to keep plastic decorations from the mantle. Especially any that might fall,” Javi explained, coming up next to you and feeling the plastic pine needles between his fingers.
“Oh.” His reasonable explanation took the wind out of your sails, and rightly so. “Okay, yeah, I guess we might have some wooden ones, would that be okay?”
“Yeah, honey, wooden’s fine. Or we can always buy some real pine garlands if you want, I’ve seen them at the tree lot in town,” Javi told you, picking up the fake garland. He looked around the room and asked, “What about on the stair railing?”
You gasped lightly and nodded, “Yeah, that’d be so cute! Do we, um, need something to hold it in place?”
“What were you going to do on the mantle? Just set it there?” Javi asked with a teasing smile.
“... yes. It fit perfectly there. Can you just help me? Please?” you asked with a little pout.
Javi laughed sweetly and said, “Of course, sweetheart, we’re doing this together.”
“But the game,” you reminded him, gesturing to the TV. Except your gaze was drawn to it with the movement and you found it set to some sort of Christmas station.
“I was just checking the score, honey. Now c’mon, let’s go figure out this garland. Grab that bit of twine and the scissors if you will,” he asked with a kiss to your cheek.
Watching him walk away to the stairs, eager to help and fully in the moment, you couldn’t help feeling luckier than you ever had, more in love with him than you ever had.
You took over what he asked for, but before you got started hanging it up, you asked him to set it down and then put your hands on his chest.
“What’s up, sweetheart?” he asked you, his hands coming to your waist and pulling you close.
“I just– I just want to thank you for doing this with me. And for loving me so well,” you told him a bit shyly.
“Loving you or loving you?” he asked, and you couldn’t help but laugh, losing your insecurity.
“Both, actually.”
Javi leaned down and kissed you, soft at first and then deeper and then faster. He pulled back, pupils blown and lips kiss-swollen, hand holding right at your jaw.
“Let’s go upstairs,” you urged, kissing him again. “Now who’s getting distracted?” Javi teased, but you didn’t care if you were a bit of a hypocrite. You wanted him now.
“We can stay downstairs so we’re closer to the decorations if you want, but you know how your dad’s always showing up unannounced with his own key…” you trailed off, but Javi was already pulling you up the stairs.
The decorations would be put up in an hour or so. Or maybe a day. Or two. The when didn’t really matter so much now that you knew you would love every minute of it with Javi.

'tis the damn season (write this down)
For your consideration: some JatP Christmas fics
Summaries included below, check AO3 tags for more information
where the lovelight gleams by @bananakarenina
Julie Molina, one of the biggest popstars on the planet, is spending the month of December in New York City to promote her new Christmas album and a huge Christmas Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. Her team has hired her a personal driver for the whole month--Reggie Peters. Julie's struggling with losing her creativity and passion, while Reggie is struggling with just trying to make rent in the big city; he hasn't been really creative in years. Can the two of them find their way back to music before Christmas comes? What else will they find along the way? (Love. Obviously the answer is love.)
you could call me 'babe' for the weekend by @locketletters
“Look, there's no way my parents are going to buy the fact that you’re my boyfriend.” Luke crosses his arms, brows furrowing, “What’s that supposed to mean?” in which luke goes home with alex for he holidays as a pretend boyfriend, and leaves with him as a real one.

There's only one thing Julie wants for Christmas.
Haunted Holidays by @invisibleraven
JatP Advent ficlets 2023!
Our Luxury (A Love Like Stars) by @psyduckappears, @daintyduck99
“So, I bought a ring,” Luke says, casual in the way that usually Reggie would realize is nowhere near casual and much closer to freaking out, but he’s a little busy choking to death on his lunch.
not the last unknown by @bananakarenina
It's Christmas Eve, and the Molina family goes to church. This year they have a couple tagalongs.
Joy To The World by @wishfulstargazer
"Christmas in LA is free of snow, but not of spirit. In fact, between the lit up palm trees, the shop displays everywhere, Feliz Navidad playing on every radio station, and a host of Christmas music and decorations all over Los Feliz high school, Christmas is pretty much unavoidable. It all grates on her nerves. Christmas without Rose Molina is unthinkable. Almost as unthinkable as music without Rose Molina." Can a well meaning trio of ghost boys bring back Julie's Christmas spirit and help her reclaim her music?
From the Heart by @breakaway71
Reggie gives Julie a gift, but she is not the only one to have some feelings about it.
Hallelujah, Everybody Say Cheese (Merry Christmas From The Family) by @a-tomb-with-a-view
Reggie sighs and turns in Luke’s arms to face him. Luke leans forward to kiss Reggie’s nose, his smile playful even if his eyes are huge and full of concern. God but Reggie loves him. “I’m not going home for Christmas,” he admits eventually. “I don’t know what I’m doing, but… but not that.” Luke frowns, and kisses Reggie’s forehead instead this time, having to lean up on tiptoes to do so. “Why don’t you come over to ours?”
Phantom Carols by @invisibleraven
Fills for the JatP Advent Event 2022!
Kiss Me Under the Missile Toad by @wr0temyway0ut
“Woah, little dude,” Willie says as he lowers Carlos to his feet. “You gotta be careful up there. What were you even doing?” Carlos gives Willie a proud grin and thrusts something into their hands. “I’m hanging the missile toads!”
why do i care how much it may storm (i’ve got my love to keep me warm) by @tillstarscollided
There is something special about nighttime snowfall, how it’s quiet and almost eerie with only the lights from the porch to show it, but how that also means you can watch it collect and sparkle in a controlled section of light instead of being blinded by the sun reflecting off the entire landscape of white. There had been snow on the ground already, slowly melting, but this new batch was evening it out, covering up the mud and sludge with a new blank canvas that Reggie really wanted to just go and mess up with snowmen and snow angels, as the ones he had already made disappeared, but it was 1 am and he should be cuddling in bed with his partners, and he has bad impulse control but not that bad of impulse control. or: Reggie’s partners bring him to New York to see the snow, and he hasn’t stopped staring since.
a lonely boy on christmas by @nuandia
Alex doesn’t really think twice. He takes the tangerines and a wrapped sandwich and a bottle of water out of his shopping bag and offers them to him. The boy looks up, startled. His face guarded, his posture tense before he blinks at Alex and then relaxes. He smiles a tentative smile and slowly reaches for the offered groceries. But his eyes are sparkling, making the breath in Alex’s throat catch. Or, everybody's lonely on Christmas Eve. Or well, maybe not.
Of Hearts Borrowed And Blue by @daintyduck99
“Some vacation,” Julie mutters, shedding the duvet and reaching for the coffee maker. She still doesn’t know why everyone was so convinced that a change of scenery would do her good—it’s not like Julie can outrun Christmas. Caleb apparently also forgot to mention that everyone in this town is obsessed with the holiday, which isn’t all that different from the current atmosphere at Molina Family Photography. If anything, Julie’s even more of a grinch here that she would be back home, because she stuffed all of her grief into a battered suitcase, and she can’t just pull it out for every single stranger trying to get her into the Christmas spirit.

DECORATING A CHRISTMAS TREE WITH YOUR OCS PLEASE
I NEED A BIG BIG FEAST WITH THEM
✩⋆゚𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 / 𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐒
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒: Alois Leblanc, Takeshi, Nasana, Desdemona Nausikáa, Aphaeleon, Va'ariniel, Taruqu'inel, Khione
𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒: my requests are actually closed rn but I'll make an exception as a little Christmas present for everyone hehe. Also this could have been out like 5 hours ago but I got caught up in playing Genshin lol - gotta farm those materials u know
. * ⋆ . · . ALOIS LEBLANC
✭ Alois takes decorating the tree very seriously. He's the type that needs to have everything in a matching colour scheme and all the ornaments in the right place. He will transform into his flock of bats to reach the really high up places or, to make sure you don't feel left out at all, he'll carry you while he floats up so you can reach this totally isn't an excuse to hold you or anything.
✭ However, once he gets this plan across, it becomes a group effort for the whole estate to decorate the manor together and it's often a really fun day with everyone getting the day off their duties to just decorate and then cook together. The tree in the foyer is huge. Everyone at the Leblanc Estate looks forward to Christmas for this reason.
. * ⋆ . · . NASANA
✭ Doesn't really do Christmas. But he's happy enough to decorate the place with you and he certainly won't turn down a big, warm meal in this cold season. I think he enjoys the cooking part more than the decorating. Nasana has a truly feral diet before you came along and he's come to really enjoy cooking, especially your cooking or just doing it as a quality time activity with you.
✭ This naga will be all wrapped up in a jumper and blankets with the fireplace roaring as the two of you go about the place and decorate with ornaments and garlands. He comes to quite like all the shiny stuff everywhere.
. * ⋆ . · . TAKESHI
✭ Takeshi celebrates Christmas for the fun of it - he likes decorating and giving/receiving gifts. Also, it creates the perfect opportunity for him to pull tricks when everyone around him is only expecting kindness. Expect a few gag gifts or pranks.
✭ He really likes the ambience that the lights create and you can find him in his fox form napping under the tree and all its twinkling lights in the holiday season. Takeshi strikes me as the type to leave up the neutral-coloured lights around the place for the rest of the year even after all the other decorations are taken down because he really likes it.
. * ⋆ . · . DESDEMONA NAUSIKÁA
✭ Desdemona loves Christmas! I’ve mentioned before that one of her interests is old movies and she’d just love a chance to decorate the place with you!! You’ll have to lead the way with cooking Christmas dinner though because this siren would likely poison you by accident as she’s never had to learn to cook.
✭ She’s all about decorating together though and the whole place will be lit up with lights and candles, there’s a Christmas tree decorated with faux Pearl garlands and silvery ornaments (many of which Des has made with you!!).
. * ⋆ . · . APHAELEON
✭ Oddly enough, Aphaeleon isn't very big on Christmas. He's been around long enough to watch it go from a Pagan to Christian holiday and besides, what's the point of celebrating figures that will not be essential to his era as God? Aphae might not be a fan of all the decorations and such but he loves the charity aspect.
✭ You'll be decorating many trees with Aphae as he's used his money money from blackmailing corrupt ppl obv to buy decorations for shelters for the homeless/women/etc. to lift their spirits. This season is quite busy for him as he's leading charity events, masses and gathering essential supplies to donate to shelters. He spends a lot of time going around his churches too which are always open to those in need of shelter but become particularly busy with the colder weather.
. * ⋆ . · . VA’ARINIEL
✭ Oh! Va'ariniel's heard about this one! There are stories from a few centuries ago of humans decorating their houses with greenery and a tree with ornaments to invite the fae inside and give them shelter from the cold if needed. Not many humans decorate a Christmas tree for the same reasons now though and so, without the invitation, fae can no longer enter homes to reside in these trees.
✭ She's so eager to bring back this tradition that once stood between fae and humans and so she's got all the castle staff running around to decorate the place (it's also an opportunity to stake her claim to the throne by subtly putting green everywhere ahem). She'll fly up and place ornaments wherever you deem fit and she comes to love a hot chocolate substitute that the two of you figure out how to make together with ingredients from her realm.
. * ⋆ . · . TARUQU’INEL
✭ Taruqu'inel had also heard about this Christmas tree tradition but he wasn't as well-versed as Va'ari. He'll hang off your every word as you tell him all about the tradition's history and he's ecstatic to take part in something that once stood to join fae and humans like yourself! His advisors aren't very happy with putting green everywhere and insist he must convince you to use blue instead but he really couldn't care less as long as he gets to see that big smile on your face. He will 100% take you in his arms bridal style and fly up so you can reach places to hang decorations.
✭ However his advisors give you both more than enough resources to hold a feast in Taruqu'inel's name. He knows that they see it as a way of winning people over with generosity and it's a way of showing off what he can provide as a ruler but to Taru this is all about you. He'll have the head chef teaching you both how to make the tastiest dishes, all under your guidance of what a Christmas dinner should be like and you'll be feeding each other desserts by the end of the evening.
. * ⋆ . · . KHIONE
✭ While the landscape around Kanastra Highlands holds some beautiful scenery, it can look rather bleak in the winter and so Khione's more than happy to bring some greenery inside. He lets you take the lead in deciding how to decorate everything but he's helping you out every step of the way.
✭ Khione's very giving when it comes to his people and so I'm sure that, like Aphae, he loves the charity aspect the most. He'll get teams of people together months in advance to organise decorations and feasts and parades. Many of the cities across Kanastra have winter markets and he's eager to take you around them all to buy you little gifts and try all sorts of foods with you. Khione is a very serious dragon man 99% of the time but he looks like a child when he's eagerly dragging you around these markets. He looks forward to them all year round.

Yule Recipes and Activities, Yule Part 3
Yule is almost upon us! And with every holiday, you’re probably trying to figure out what exactly you still need to make this a wonderful day. So I’ve pulled together some yule recipes and activities for every person, witchy or not.
Yule
It’s also a time for feasting and merriment with friends and family, rest and rebirth as spring approaches and a time to plan for the coming year.
With all the feasting and merriment, you gotta have food of course!
So I’ve gathered a list of foods and activities you can use to celebrate Yule. You can find links to all of these and more on our Yule Pinterest Board. (Find that here)
Yule Recipes Ideas
As with all of the Wiccan Sabbats, you can make whatever works best for you! Some people prefer to stick to more “traditional” fare, while others embrace new foods and traditions. Do what works best for you. I will make up a small list of more luxurious and fancy food items you could try as well if you want to splurge.(although a freezer pizza and fries can be just as delicious and much cheaper…lol)
Traditional Yule Recipes
Boar(or in this case ham)
Wassail
If you’ve ever heard the song “Here we got a-waissailing” then you’ve been introduced to this winter drink. Both the Fall and Winter Festivals feature wassail, which is known for its spicy and sweet flavors. A hot cider filled with heady spices and a variety of fruit juices, it’ll be sure to put you into a Yuletide Cheer.
Eggnog
You either love it or you hate it. Eggnog dates back to the Medieval times and is a holiday favorite for many people. Make yours from scratch or buy it from the store, however you choose to enjoy it best for you.
Buche de Noel(or Yule Log)
Rum Cake
Another dessert( and another drink, seeing a theme yet?) Hot buttered rum and rum cakes are a festive part of the festivities. Just be careful how much you add to the cake!
Fresh Bread
Baking bread is a common activity and dish featured during each of the holidays. And who can blame them, fresh bread is delicious! This Yule, try making a Sun Loaf or a Sun Wheel bread. Yumm!
Fancy Dish Recipes for Yule
These meals are just as yummy for Yule but can be a touch more decadent. If you’ve got the time and funds to spare then go for it!
Surf and Turf
Yumm. A nice slab of beef and a variety of seafood including shrimp, scallops or crab are a delicious meal idea.
Prime Rib
Make your Pork dish a beef dish instead. Prime rib is a delicious meal idea.(and keeps you from having to have turkey for the 2nd month in a row)
Goose
Have you ever watched or read “A Christmas Carol”? Several English Christmas stories talk about the Christmas goose hanging up in the window of the local butcher shop. Goose isn’t as common now when we have turkey and chicken available in grocery stores but it sounds like it could be a delicious change. Check your local farms for the best goose to cook.
Italian Seafood Soup
Seafood is not cheap! But it so good…(sorry if you have seafood allergies. ) Cioppino is a tomato based seafood soup and it sounds delicious. If you’re not Italian, maybe try it anyways? Trying new traditions and cultures can be a wonderful( and yummy) thing!
Other Yule Recipe Ideas
Hot Toddy
Hot Cocoa(classic!)
Tomato Bisque
Sun King Soup
Plum Pudding
Baked Spaghetti Squash
Sunrise Skillet Recipe
Peppermint Fudge(or any fudge really)
Feel free to mix and match your favorite recipes. Yule and the most of the Fall/Winter Holidays focus on hearty meat based soups and meals, breads and root veggies. SO customize to your hearts content! (Don’t forget to check our Pinterest board for all the recipe links)
Yule Activities
Yule Crafts and Activities
Orange Pomander
Dried Orange Slices/Garland
Decorate jars with tissue paper and leaves
Candle Making
Make an outdoor solstice spot

I miss you my friend!! I hope everything is going well for you and you're taking care of yourself.
Here's a nice little thought for you since I'm done with summer now thanks that'll be it for me. The first Halloween you spend with Michael, as soon as the neighbors start to put out decorations, he brings home a little pumpkin one night.
It is not his usual sort of trophy, and he doesn't present it to you. He looks at it thoughtfully and then sets it on the windowsill. You realize he hasn't had the chance to decorate or even celebrate his favorite holiday since he was six. You've gotta fix that.
Cue you making the best Halloween season fucking ever. It starts on September 1 and ends on like, Christmas. You get him to help you decorate and you buy him candy and the night before his big night, you take him on a walk around the neighborhood, a sort of trick-or-treat of your own, because he doesn't have his mask on so that's kind of a costume, right? And he doesn't say anything, he never does, but he has that particular set to his mouth that translates as a smile the whole season long.
Meg omg I miss talking with you. I’ve been legit creeping your blog on the daily just seeing where your wonderful mind has taken you. College AU has a chokehold on me right now. I actually started thinking about Michael at this slasher college AU with Blue and it’s been quite interesting and fun.
I agree, summer can kick rocks. It’s hot as hell in the Midwest and I’m over it thank you very much. I want to wear all my black comfortably. I’m sure it’s not comfortable for my year-round porch skeleton either—Mr. Barnaby prefers cold bones. But omg Michael bringing home a little pumpkin? My heart!!! Once you spot it you’d have to act.
You’re taking him to every Halloween shop that pops up. When I say you’re spending a pretty penny every weekend for decorations and candy and haunted houses I’m not saying it likely. You spoil the fuck out of him because him even showing interest in something other than murdering is not only something to be rewarded, but it’s also legit so endearing to see him wandering up and down the Halloween aisles at the store and just picking up whatever tickles his fancy and tossing it in the cart.
I like picturing him as being the one to hang lights and all the things you can’t reach. He might not even want to take it down ever. I love picturing him excited in his own little way.
And omg taking him on a haunted hay ride? Please I am crying right now
#payton’s asks#visceravalentines#michael myers#legit screaming thinking of warm apple cider on a spooky hay ride and he’s in a cute outfit and so are you and y’all are in love

Part One if you missed it!
.
Finn had a Plan.
Well, half a Plan.
Maybe.
Step one: meet up with Logan and Leo again. Step two: woo them. Step three: …
Well, it wasn’t much. And it was very vague. But Finn’s plans tended to never go the way he wanted them to anyway, so vague was usually for the best. And so far, it had been going well. They’d grabbed dinner several times, ran into each other at the store or buying Christmas presents downtown. And on Monday the diner was closed, so Finn and Leo spent hours at the farm helping where they could and pestering Logan. He was so fun to tease – he got all gruff and grumpy and adorable. Leo seemed to think so, too, if the number of times he teamed up with Finn to make Logan get all red was anything to go off of.
At the beginning of all this, Finn had thought he’d been overdramatic. He’d woken up the morning after first meeting Logan and Leo and assumed he’d been tired and jet-lagged and was imagining all those feelings he’d felt the night before.
And then he’d met up with them again.
Love at first sight wasn’t real. Finn knew this. But being here, meeting Logan and Leo, just might have been enough to change his mind. It made no sense, but – well, here he was. The past few days were happy, rose-tinted, and Finn couldn’t believe his luck. What were the odds that he’d find both of them in this sleepy little town?
So here he was, pulling into the parking lot of Leo’s for a cup of coffee and a healthy serving of sweet southern blond.
Leo was out front, shoveling snow and looking absolutely miserable while doing it. He was bundled in a thick coat and hat, scarf wrapped high around his neck. Finn laughed under his breath as he turned his car off and braved the cold. Poor southern boy. Leo glanced up at him briefly when he approached, then did a double take.
“Morning, sunshine.” Finn said with a cheeky grin. “Enjoying the snow day?”
Leo’s resulting grumpy look made Finn laugh. “I’ll take that as a no.”
“Nate called and said he can’t make it to work today because the roads are so bad.” Leo took a deep breath, and then the rest of his words came out in a jumbled, rushed mess. “Which isn’t his fault and I’m not blaming him at all. But I haven’t started cooking and we open in thirty minutes and there’s no coffee brewing and nowhere for people to park because of this goddamn snow and so I’m stuck shoveling snow instead of cooking and I’m so far behind-”
Finn gently pressed a finger to Leo’s lips, halting the nervous ramblings. Leo looked down at his finger, then back up to meet Finn’s eyes.
Oh, he was so gorgeous.
Finn had to force himself to focus on the matter at hand instead of cherry-red lips and soft baby blues. “Relax, ok? And hand me the shovel. I’ll do this, while you get on inside and start cooking.”
“But – Finn,” Leo said, and wow did he love the sound of his voice in that southern twang.
“Leo,” He echoed with an attempted accent, eliciting a smile from the blond.
“I can’t just ask you to work. You’re on vacation.”
“First of all, you didn’t ask – I offered. And the friends I’m visiting are both at work,” Finn explained, “so I’ve been left to my own devices for the day.”
Leo winced in sympathy. “Bless your heart.”
And see, Finn had done his research. He’d googled New Orleans, the state of Louisiana, and the south in general. And he’d learned that southerners were very confusing – more confusing than people gave them credit for. They were polite and kind to everyone, even if they definitely didn’t mean it. The phrase “bless your heart” could mean they either absolutely adored you or they thought you were the worst person on the planet.
Finn really hoped it wasn’t the latter. He didn’t think it was the latter, anyways.
“I’m literally dying of boredom. I’ll shovel the snow, and then I can come help you cook!” At Leo’s skeptical look, Finn brought out the big guns: his puppy dog eyes. They were known to melt even the hardest of hearts. He’d learned this lesson in college when asking his Grinch of an Ethics professor for some extra credit. “Please?”
Leo hesitated, but Finn could see the exact moment he caved. “Alright. But you’re getting paid.”
“Absolutely not. Consider it a Christmas gift.”
“I’ll pay you in food and coffee.”
“Deal.” Finn said, grabbing the shovel from Leo’s mittened hands. “Like I could ever say no to your food.”
Leo’ smile, warm and a little bashful, probably could’ve thawed the snow on the pavement if it was directed that way. “What would you like: sweet or savory?”
“Sweet,” Finn said instantly, even though he really preferred savory. His one-track mind was still stuck on dimples. “But I take my coffee black.”
“Comin’ right up.”
Finn watched him go, knowing that he had the dopiest smile on his face. Today was going to be a good day. And he knew a way to make it even better.
Finn dialed the number for Tremblay’s Trees, hoping more than anything that Logan would be the one to pick up. But of course he wasn’t that lucky. A bright, cheery voice answered the phone - definitely not Logan. “Tremblay’s Trees!0 This is Thomas, how can I help you?”
“Uh,” Finn said articulately, “Hi, I’d like to talk to Logan. Is he there?”
There was a slight pause, then: “Maybe. Who’s asking? And how do you know our dear Lolo?” The voice sounded curious, if not a little mischievous. Before Finn could answer, though, there was a scuffling over the line.
“Talker, give me the phone.”
“Oh, come on, I’ve got the five o’clock news slot tonight. Give the people what they want, Logan! Who’s your mystery caller?”
“I swear to god-”
The scuffling sound got louder, then there was a loud clatter when Finn assumed the phone hit the ground. He jerked his own phone away from his ear with a wince. “I am very confused.” He stated, not sure if anyone else heard him.
There was a small, softer rustle, then a breathless voice asked, “Hello?”
Finn couldn’t help but smile. “Hi, Lolo.”
That laugh was just as wonderful over the phone as it was in person. “Please don’t call me that.”
“Mmm… I might need to be convinced.” Finn said, letting some flirtiness slip through. “Anyways, I’ve got an idea. You busy today?”
“I’ve got the morning off. Why, what did you have in mind?”
So Finn, with the phone pressed between his shoulder and his ear, told the story of this morning as he shoveled – Nate not being able to make it to his shift, the ice and snow in Leo’s parking lot, Leo being behind on cooking and acting anxious. “So I was thinking we could do something? Like a surprise? And I know you guys need to actually sell things and make a living and stuff but I was thinking about decorating the diner? He just works so hard and he’s so stressed and I feel like he could use a little holiday cheer. What do you think?”
The other voice from earlier must have shouted, because he was loud enough to hear over the phone. “Phone guy! What the hell did you say to make him melt like that?”
Logan punched Talker in the shoulder. Hard. “I will lock you in the closet, Talker. Shut. Up.” His attention was brought back to the phone by Finn’s laugh and his demeanor softened again. He’d never met someone as chaotically considerate as Finn O’Hara. It was such a sweet, thoughtful idea. And it was something to help out Leo? How could Logan say no?
“Sounds like a plan.” Logan said, cradling the phone closer to his ear. “Most people already have their decorations so we don’t have a whole lot left, but I’ll see what I can find.”
“Perfect! Oh this is going to be so fun – fuck, I’ve gotta go. Customers just showed up. But I’ll see you soon, yeah?”
“Yeah, I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
“Great. Ok see you soon bye!” The words reached Logan in a rush before the line went dead.
What a dork.
Logan was pretty sure he was half in love with him.
“So…” Talker said suddenly, making Logan spin around quickly. “Who are you pining over?”
Noelle, who had been passing by on her way to the kitchen, backpedaled in order to join the conversation. “Are we talking about Logan’s love life? Because I’m so here for that.”
Logan sighed and went to the coat rack by the door, grabbing his coat, toque, and scarf. “I’m not having this conversation with you.”
They both promptly ignored him. Talker grinned at his fiancée, sensing trouble he could get into. “He’s become such a sap.”
Noelle snuggled up to Talker, turning her teasing gaze to her brother. “But if it’s who I’m thinking of, they have such good chemis-tree.”
“Did you guys practice this or something?”
“Hey man, don’t be so defensive.” Talker said, voice turning serious. “You know we’re all rooting for you.”
“I hate you both so much.”
“Aww, don’t be like that, Lolo.” Noelle sighed, giving him an over-the-top hug and obnoxious kisses to his cheek. “We’re just having some fun. Do you want us to stop needling you?”
“I’m having fun fir sure!” Talker shouted, then burst into raucous laughter, which stopped as abruptly as it started. “Wait. That wasn’t Leo on the phone. You've got eyes for someone other than him, now? Branching out a little, are we?"
“No.” Logan said instantly, then winced. Because his feelings for Leo definitely hadn’t changed. But then there was Finn… “Maybe. It’s complicated, ok?”
“The redhead that was hanging out with you and Leo on Monday?”
Logan felt his cheeks heat up but didn’t say anything. Monday had been the best, though. Showing the two of them the farm and how he did his job and watching their noses and cheeks turn adorable shades of pink from the cold. Even though he’d been there for a year, Leo still seemed in awe of all the snow. He clearly hated it, but Logan could tell he still found wonder and beauty in a clean blanket of undisturbed, freshly-fallen snow. Finn, even though he was clearly freezing too, kept cracking jokes the entire time, his voice muffled by his scarf. They’d walked and talked and learned more about each other among the saplings that would be full-grown and ready to be cut down by next season.
Yeah, Monday had been a great day.
And Logan was so screwed.
“Birch, please.” Noelle teased, then softened. “But really, Logan. Both of them were just as interested in you as they were in each other. You’ve got nothing to worry about, you just need to talk to them.”
He looked up from the buttons of his coat. “You think so?”
“Only one way to find out. What are you doing with them today?”
“We’re decorating the diner.” Logan pulled his hat on and looked over at his sister. “Do you think dad’ll be ok with me taking some garland and a wreath?”
Noelle scoffed. “With all the coffee and pastries you boy’s given us, I think he’s more than paid for it. Do you want company?”
“No.”
“Oh, come on,” Talker said, wiggling his eyebrows. “We’d make the perfect wingmen.”
“You did enough while I was on the phone, thanks.” Logan said, grabbing the keys from the counter. “Ok I’m headed out. See you later.”
Talker and Noelle sent a chorus of boos after him, only stopping when the door closed firmly behind him. He huffed out a laugh, shook his head, and headed towards the display counter to grab decorations. They were a little old since it was so close to Christmas day, but they’d have to do. Logan hesitated for a split second, then grabbed the Santa hat as well. They’d get a kick out of that. He threw the decorations in the back of the truck and took off down the road.
.
They actually worked really well together – Leo and Finn, that is. Finn dealt with customers while Leo made the food. They had a complex, intricate dance around the close quarters of the diner but they seemed to know the footwork already and could predict exactly what the other needed without blinking an eye. Leo peered out the kitchen window at Finn as he took orders at another table, laughing at something one of the women said. He was good at this. He was naturally outgoing and good with people, but he was also efficient and seemed to be able to keep track of twenty different things at once.
Leo frowned thoughtfully down at the grits on the stove. Logically, he shouldn’t like Finn. The redhead had appeared like a whirlwind and thrown everything off course. But then he went out of his way to be helpful and sweet and thoughtful even though it didn’t benefit him in any way. He had a big heart with a lot of love to give. And he gave it willingly to everyone, it seemed.
Don’t get him wrong, that was a good thing – it was a great thing. But it also made the past few days incredibly confusing. Was Finn treating Leo like everyone else, or did he want something more?
He definitely wanted something more with Logan, though. That much was obvious.
Leo just wasn’t sure how he fit into all of this.
Finn barging into the kitchen snapped Leo out of his thoughts. He looked up as Finn started looking around for something on the counters and shelves, tongue poking out in concentration. Leo couldn’t help but smile at the little detail.
“What are you looking for?” He asked, stepping away from the stove.
“The, um…” Finn said, trailing off as he continued to search, clearly distracted. “The spicy maple sauce for the chicken and waffles.”
“In the fridge.” Leo stated plainly, maneuvering around Finn to grab flour from the pantry, brushing against his back as he did so and trying to ignore how the simple touch heightened his awareness of the redhead. Finn threw open the fridge door, scanning the shelves.
“Where?”
“Second shelf from the bottom, on the right.”
A few seconds of silence, then: “Where?”
Leo laughed, dumping a cup of flour into a bowl and heading to the fridge. He peered over Finn’s shoulder, then reached around him with one long arm to grab the bowl of sauce. “Right in front of you, sweetheart.” He teased. Finn turned around so that he was facing Leo, a look that Leo had seen a lot in the past few days but still couldn’t identify on his face.
“Yeah,” was all he said, soft and a little strangled.
Leo looked away from those deep, brown eyes and down at the sauce. His heartrate picked up significantly. “Have you tried this yet?” At Finn’s shake of his head, Leo grabbed a spoon from a nearby drawer. “Figured I’d combine my roots with where I ended up, y’know? Tabasco, black pepper, maple syrup, and a few more secret ingredients.” He said with a wink, spooning some out and holding it out to Finn. “I’m pretty proud of it, if I do say so myself. Try it.”
Instead of grabbing the spoon from Leo, Finn just leaned forwards and tasted the sauce straight from the spoon in Leo’s hand. Leo’s breath hitched and his stomach swooped as Finn straightened again and met his eyes.
Oh, he could stare into those eyes forever. Eyes the same color of the coffee Finn had slid through the kitchen window about an hour ago with the words, “figured you could use some” before dashing off to clear another table. Leo had turned beet red, but grabbed the coffee and held it close before taking a sip.
Leo also hadn’t realized how close they were. The diner was small and the kitchen was cramped, but they definitely didn’t need to be standing this close. Not that Leo was complaining.
“Is it hot in here?” Finn murmured, gaze flitting from Leo’s eyes down to his lips and back again.
Leo seemed a little lost, too, leaning closer to the redhead without even realizing he was doing it. “Must be the sauce.”
It definitely wasn’t just the sauce.
The chime that alerted them to the front door opening startled both of them, forcing them to jerk away from each other and blush furiously.
“I, uh, I’m going to go check on that.” Finn said, still not looking away from Leo as he backed up.
“Ok.” Leo whispered, reaching back to grab the island behind him in an attempt to steady himself. Finn reluctantly tore his eyes away and disappeared from sight, leaving Leo reeling in the kitchen as he entered the dining area.
Finn’s mind was still back in the kitchen, wishing more than anything that he hadn’t been forced to step away. He’d never wanted to kiss someone senseless quite as much as he did right then. And how was he supposed to keep it together when all he wanted to do was flip the diner sign from open to closed and get Logan here and finally talk to them. They’d felt this pull - this magnetism - too. He knew they did. The only thing left to do was finally talk about it.
Finn was forced to snap back to the present when the counter was suddenly covered in green needles, red berries, and festive ribbons. He looked up to see Logan grinning at him. Under his coat he was wearing red plaid, which matched the Santa hat perched on his head.
How was it possible to want two people so much at the same time? He couldn’t breathe with all the emotions overflowing in his chest.
“Ho ho ho,” Logan attempted to say, but cracked up before he could finish. Finn grinned and laughed as well, stepping forward to greet him.
“You should’ve used the chimney.” Finn joked, tugging on the end of his hat playfully. He got a smile and sparkling green eyes in return. Finn bit back a dreamy sigh. “But really, thank you. Leo’s gonna love this.”
Logan’s face grew a little worried. “How is he?”
Ha.
Haha.
That was a good question, since Finn left him standing there in the kitchen with the spoon still in his hand, looking a little lost.
He ended up shrugging, glancing back at the kitchen door longingly. “Better now. Still seems tired.”
“We’re going to have to force him to take breaks, aren’t we.” It wasn’t a question.
“Probably. If we tag team, I think we can manage to make it happen.” Finn looked down at the decorations. “So where are we putting these?”
Logan looked around the dining area, giving Finn a perfect view of his profile. He longed to kiss that strong jawline so badly, holy shit. “We could hang some over the kitchen window and some around the front window. And the wreath can go on the door.” Finn followed Logan as he maneuvered his way around tables to the front window, eyeing it critically. “The frame is wide enough that it should stay up on its own, so we won’t need nails or anything.” He grabbed the garland from the counter and then turned back around. Finn looked from him to the tall crown molding around the window.
“Need a ladder?”
“No.”
Finn laughed, grabbing one end of the garland and stretching up to place it on the ledge. Once it was secure, he looked over his shoulder at Logan and stuck his hand out for the other end. Logan hesitated, clearly wanting to do it himself, but quickly admitted defeat and handed it over. He huffed at Finn’s smug smile.
“Shut up.”
Finn laughed as he hung the garland. Logan was so small and grumpy and cute. Finn wanted to bundle him up in his arms and never let go. His little pocket-sized lumberjack. How adorable. He was so different from Leo, in basically every way. And yet Finn still wanted them both. How the hell did that work?
“I should probably check on the customers.” Finn said reluctantly, glancing around at the breakfast crowd. “Do you think you can manage the kitchen window?”
“I got it.” Logan grumbled, sizing up his next target. Finn just shook his head fondly and started making his rounds to the occupied tables. Logan grabbed the remaining garland and headed behind the counter. He couldn’t help but stick his head through the window and look around. It was several degrees warmer in the kitchen than it was in the dining area. Logan was surprised at how tidy it was, considering how hectic the morning had been. There were a few scattered dishes in the sink, but the counters were mostly clean and organized, each bowl seemed to have a designated location. Leo, focused with his head down, maneuvered between stations with an effortless grace as he breaded a chicken tender and threw it into a frier. Logan never thought he’d be so entranced by something as simple as cooking but here he was, watching Leo hum along to the Christmas music on the radio as he poured batter into a waffle iron. He grabbed a mug of coffee off to the side and looked up as he took a sip, jumping when he saw Logan.
“Logan! Hey, honey!” He smiled, like seeing Logan was the highlight of his day. Logan yearned at the sight of that smile. He seemed to be doing a whole lot of yearning lately. “When did you get here?”
“Just a few minutes ago. Brought you something.”
Leo arched an eyebrow. “That sounds a little ominous.”
“No,” Logan laughed. “No, it’s a good thing.” He held up the garland and wiggled it around a little, causing it to sway in the air.
Leo’s entire face lit up. “Christmas decorations?”
“It was Finn’s idea.” Logan said, looking back over his shoulder at the redhead. Leo visibly softened, smile gentle and eyes warm.
“He sure is sweet, isn’t he?”
You just need to talk to them, Noelle’s voice echoed in Logan’s head. Looking at Leo right then, he couldn’t help but think that maybe she was right.
.
“Sure is snowing hard out there, eh?” Logan asked several hours later as he looked out the window. It was a strange lull in the day – too late for lunch, but too early for dinner. They were all grateful for the break. Logan honestly wasn’t sure how Leo did this every day – it was exhausting.
Finn, who was sitting on the other side of the booth from Logan and Leo with his legs stretched out, pulled up the weather app on his phone. “It’s only supposed to get worse. They’re calling for a blizzard.”
Leo looked out at the snow worriedly. “I really don’t wanna drive home in all that.”
“Might need to close up early, then. No one’s going to be out in this weather, anyways.” Logan said, watching Leo bite his lip as he thought about it. “I could drive you, if you want.”
Leo looked over at him, relief clear in his eyes. “Would you?” He rushed to continue, “I don’t wanna inconvenience you or anything, and I know you need to get home too-”
“Leo,” Logan cut in with a smile. If Leo didn’t know Logan would do pretty much anything for him at this point, he was clearly oblivious. “I don’t mind, I promise.”
Leo seemed to accept it without further argument and looked over at Finn. “Do you wanna tag along? I was thinking about making cookies.”
“Well that depends.” Finn said with mock gravitas, leaning forward to rest his forearms against the table. “What kind of cookies are we talking?”
Leo matched his pose, mischief alight in his eyes. “I was thinking snickerdoodles, but I’d be willing to reconsider.”
“Sneak in some sugar cookies we can decorate and you’ve got yourself a deal.”
Leo and Finn shook on it, keeping it professional.
Logan was infatuated with the two of them.
“So you’re closing early?” He asked, excited at the prospect of spending the rest of the day with them. At Leo’s nod, he nearly sighed with relief. “Good. You need a break.”
Leo rolled his eyes, but smiled all the same. “Maybe I do.”
Finn grinned. “He finally admits it!”
“Ok, ok, I get it.” Leo sighed, shoving Logan’s shoulder repeatedly until he got out of the booth. Leo followed after him. “I’ve got to put stuff away in the kitchen and then I’ll be done.”
Logan and Finn shared a look before trailing after him. They worked together to clean up, put food away, and organize the receipts and cash register for the day. It went much faster with three people. Before they knew it, all three of them were piling into Logan’s pickup truck, bundled up against the cold and brushing freshly-fallen snowflakes off of their coats and out of their hair. Logan pulled out onto the road, driving while Leo gave directions from the passenger’s seat.
Leo’s house was nice – small, but it looked warm and well-loved. There was a snowman out front, complete with a scarf and carrot nose.
“Cute.” Finn said as they got out of the truck, walking up to the snowman. Leo smiled, fishing his keys out of his pocket.
“My friend’s little brother made that over the weekend.” He unlocked the front door and ushered everyone inside as he held the door for them. Leo’s house was all cool tones – soft blue and purples and greens. There was a tree in the corner of the living room by the window, all lit up and decorated. There were presents under the tree, wrapped in brown paper with ribbons and bows.
Leo hung his coat on the coat rack and took Logan’s and Finn’s from them. “So. Cookies?”
“Nope,” Logan said, grabbing Leo by the hand and tugging him towards the living room. “Rest first, then cookies.” Leo laughed, reaching behind him to find Finn’s arm and pulling him along with them.
“I won’t say no to a Christmas movie.” He agreed as they all collapsed onto the couch. Finn grabbed a blanket from the arm of the couch and threw it over the three of them while Leo grabbed the TV remote.
Logan moved closer under the pretense of getting under more of the blanket. He was now pressed up against Leo, butterflies in his stomach. “My vote is for Die Hard.”
Finn scoffed, throwing his legs over Leo’s and Logan’s thighs. “That doesn’t count as a Christmas movie.”
“I beg your pardon-”
“Is it about Christmas? No. Case closed.”
Logan leaned forward to look around Leo at the redhead. “It takes place during Christmas!”
Leo just listened amusedly to the bickering as he flicked through movie titles. They were still arguing when he started the cute, old Claymation Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. Both boys trailed off as the introduction music started.
“This works.” Finn said, settling in to get more comfortable, his calves flexing against Logan’s thighs as he stretched. Logan hummed in agreement, eyes already glued on the screen.
They hadn’t even met Hermey the elf before Leo was sound asleep, head pillowed on Finn’s shoulder and breathing slow and even. Finn looked over blond curls at Logan and smiled, making his heart thud painfully in his chest. He needed to talk to them, and soon. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could sit there and keep all these feelings internalized.
But it could wait until after a nap. He snuggled up close and turned back to the TV.
.
“No, you need to-” Leo stopped and laughed, pointing to the recipe. “Teaspoon of vanilla extract, darlin’, not tablespoon.”
Finn switched out one measuring spoon for another with a wince. “That would’ve been bad, huh?”
“Very bad.” Leo agreed, looking over at the oven to see Logan already staring back at them, a wide, almost-giddy smile on his face as he started loading cookie dough balls onto a baking tray. One tray of snickerdoodles were already in the oven and spreading out rapidly as they cooked.
“We might’ve put those too close to each other,” Logan said, crouching down to look into the oven. “They’re all starting to stick together. It’s just one big, square cookie.”
“That’s ok. It’ll still taste good.” Leo said with a shrug. They both turned when Finn started banging on the table in time to the music.
“I don’t want a lot for Christmas! There is just one thing I need!” He screamed, bopping along to the song. Logan laughed and let himself be tugged forwards to dance. Leo watched as they both jumped around and danced in the kitchen, hips swaying and acting like total dorks. But they were so happy, as well. Big smiles graced their faces as they laughed and sang and held each other close. Leo whisked wet ingredients together in a bowl and leaned back against the counter as he enjoyed the over-the-top show. They were cute together in the warm glow of the kitchen – a sharp contrast to the snow falling outside and collecting on the windowsill. Finn tilted his head back to shriek the last high note, causing Logan and Leo to both burst into fits of laughter.
“O’Hara, please don’t audition for Broadway.” Logan teased, still laughing a little. Finn scowled and grabbed a tea towel, spinning it up before whipping it at the brunet.
This started an all-out war. Many a cookie lost their life in the crossfire when Logan accidentally hit Leo’s arm as he was transferring cooled cookies into a tin. They had a warrior’s send-off as they were dumped into the trash can.
After the cookies were baked and decorated and the kitchen was cleaned thoroughly, it was pitch black outside. Leo had genuinely lost track of time, but he was selfishly grateful for it. “I don’t think it’s a good idea for y’all to be driving in this weather in the dark.” He said, snagging a cookie from one of the plates and taking a bite as he tried to be casual about the two boys potentially staying the night. “I’ve got a guest bedroom and a pull-out couch if you wanna stay here.”
Finn and Logan looked at each other, then Logan shrugged. “If that’s ok with you.”
Ok? It was wonderful.
“Of course it is. I’ll go make up the beds and get y’all something to sleep in, ok?” Leo said before hurrying to his room, where he hastily made his bed and rummaged through his dresser for clothes. He muttered to himself as he pulled out two pairs of sweatpants. “Don’t make a big deal of this, Nutty. They’re just spending the night. That’s it.”
His mind fast-forwarded to imagine sleep-mussed hair, soft smiles, and rough morning voices. Sitting at the table together, nursing cups of coffee as the sun rose over a clean, white blanket of snow. They’d talk and laugh and just maybe share some coffee-flavored kisses.
Leo sighed, pressing his forehead against the edge of his dresser. “I’m screwed, ain’t I?”
.
Logan woke up to a gentle hand prodding his shoulder. He breathed in sharply as he remembered where he was and blinked his eyes open to be met with worried blue ones. “Leo?” He asked as he sat up, voice raspy with lack of use. “What’s wrong?”
He was greeted with an absolute onslaught of words. “There’s so much snow outside. Like, so much snow. I’ve never seen this much snow before. And I didn’t think it would be this bad so I don’t have any milk or bread or eggs in the house and I doubt I can get to the store. How long do you think the roads will be out? And what about the diner? Is snow damage a thing? Do I need to go check-”
Logan laughed softly, falling back against the pillows and covering his eyes with his forearm. “What – milk, eggs, and bread?”
“It’s a southern thing.” Logan couldn’t see him, but he could hear the pout in his voice. His vision was suddenly filled with blond bed-head and wide baby blues as Leo pulled his arm away from his face. If he could wake up to this every day, Logan would die a happy man. “Come on, sweetheart, I’m really freaking out right now.”
One of these days, the terms of endearment were actually going to kill him.
“I’m sure the diner’s fine. Besides, there’s not much we can do until the roads clear, so we’ll just have to wait it out.” Logan shifted over on the bed, leaving a Leo-sized spot open. He tugged on Leo’s arm until he crawled into bed, laying on his side to face Logan, their feet tangled together. Leo was wearing fuzzy socks.
Logan smiled at the sight in front of him, then closed his eyes again. “Go back to sleep, Leo. We’ll deal with it when-”
The door banged open to reveal Finn, face bright with excitement. “Snow! Have you guys seen all the snow? We should-” He stopped when he saw the two boys in bed, nestled together and still sleepy. He cleared his throat. “Uh, sorry. Didn’t mean to-”
“Cuddle.” Leo said, reaching up for Finn as well. “We should cuddle.” Finn smiled warmly and didn’t hesitate to clamber into bed on Logan’s other side, scooting in close and only elbowing Logan once as he got comfy. Logan grumbled, but quickly got over it when he felt a tentative arm wrap around him as he drifted back off to sleep.
.
Leo woke up to two boys asleep in bed with him and couldn’t think of a time when he was happier. They were all tangled together in a mess of limbs and blankets and pillows. It was warm and soft and Leo never wanted to leave. But he also wanted to surprise them with coffee and breakfast. Breakfast in bed wouldn’t be too obvious would it? He thought back to the past twenty-four hours and decided that if this wasn’t flirting, he wasn’t sure what was. Now it was just a matter of taking that next step and actually talking about it. So who cared if it was too obvious or not?
Leo glanced at Logan and Finn one last time. There was just something about seeing the two of them in his clothes. Logan’s sweaterpaws were visible from where he was grabbing onto Finn’s arm in his sleep. Finn was close to the same size as Leo so the clothes actually fit him pretty well. His face was pressed into brown hair, arm tightening around Logan as he huffed out a breath. The sight did something to Leo’s heart. He smiled dopily before sneaking out of bed, his back popping as he stretched. Ok, game plan: coffee, breakfast, talk. He could do this.
He crept down the hall and into the kitchen, trying to be as quiet as he could when getting a frying pan out and setting it on the stove. Next came the kettle for water to use in the French press, bacon, and ingredients to make homemade biscuits. Normally he would’ve done eggs, but they’d used all of them on the cookies yesterday.
The biscuits went into the oven and the bacon into the frying pan, sizzling away. So much for breakfast in bed. Leo knew the smell of food cooking would bring the other two out of the bedroom and, sure enough, he soon heard two pairs of footsteps headed towards him, one slightly muffled by too-long sweatpants hems dragging along the floor. He grabbed three mugs from the cabinet and sent a smile over his shoulder at the two boys.
Three cups of coffee: one black, one with cream only, and one with cream and sugar.
Leo pulled the biscuits out of the oven and quickly transferred them onto a plate, doing the same with the bacon before bringing both to the table.
“Leo, you’re an angel.” Finn said as he grabbed plates and silverware for the three of them. Logan hummed in agreement from in front of the fridge, where he was collecting butter and jams for the biscuits. They all joined each other at the kitchen table, still a little sleepy-eyed and half awake.
Leo, halfway through his first sip of coffee, passed Finn his mug of steaming black coffee, then Logan his own cup full of cream and sugar, just how he liked it. Logan looked down at it and sighed happily, “Love you, Nutter Butter.”
Finn’s head shot up. Leo choked on his coffee, cheeks heating up. Logan looked at them confusedly before he realized what he said and his face paled. “Shit.”
“You... you love me?” Leo asked, voice barely above a whisper.
Logan’s heart ached a little at the look on Leo’s face. God, he should’ve told him a long time ago. In response he just slowly nodded, hesitantly meeting wide eyes and hoping for the best.
Leo smiled, letting out a soft laugh. “Honey, I’ve loved you for months.” He took a deep breath, as if gathering up his courage, then reached out to grab Finn’s hand. “And I think I’m falling for you, too. Judging from the way Logan stares at you when you’re not looking, he feels the same.” Leo looked from Finn to Logan hopefully. “Right?”
Finn squeezed Leo’s hand, finally daring to hope. Maybe he could actually have this. His heart thundered in his chest, so loud that Logan and Leo were bound to hear it. “And how does he stare at me when I’m not looking?”
Leo’s eyes flicked over to Logan with a smile. “Take a look for yourself.”
Finn’s breath hitched as he looked over into evergreen eyes, bright and gazing at him the same way Finn had caught him staring at Leo so many times before. He laughed a little in relief, tracing Logan’s cheekbone with gentle fingers.
“I was a little worried we were never going to have this conversation. And I know we’ve got a lot to figure out, but...” He trailed off, a little in awe. What were the odds of this? Everything seemed to fall perfectly into place, like puzzle pieces. It wasn’t some huge revelation, though. There were no grand romantic gestures, no race against time, no frantic outburst. It was calm and gentle like the sun rising outside, casting everything in light pastels and golds.
Logan just laughed softly, scooting his chair back with a loud scraping noise and standing up. “Stop just sitting there and come here, I’ve been wanting to kiss you two for forever.”
Finn scrambled up from his seat and all but threw himself at Logan, nearly bowling him over as he kissed him enthusiastically, arms wrapped tightly around Logan’s waist. Leo smiled as he watched them. He loved their dynamic – the bickering and teasing like they’d known each other for years, and yet the head-over-heels way they looked at each other and held each other and kissed each other. They were so comfortable together, not shying away from anything it seemed. Leo couldn’t wait to see how their relationship grew and evolved over time. He couldn’t wait to see how all three of them would grow together. He stood too and joined Logan and Finn, pressing kisses to their cheeks, their jaws, their necks – anywhere he could reach.
Finn broke the kiss to press his forehead against Logan’s, eyes closed and smile a mile wide. “I’ve been wanting to do that since the first time I saw you at that farm.” His eyes turned to Leo next. He reached up and cupped Leo’s face in his hands. “And I’ve wanted to kiss you since that first bite of pie.”
“What, was the muffuletta not good enough for – mmph.” Leo’s teasing words got cut off by Finn’s lips on his. He sighed into the kiss, draping his arms over Finn’s freckled shoulders and angling his head to deepen the kiss. He could taste black coffee on Finn’s lips and had never loved the flavor more. There was another hand at his back, stroking over his spine. Logan. Leo leaned back into his hand before breaking away from Finn to look at Logan – the guy he’d been pining after for just shy of a year.
“How did I get so lucky?” He murmured, prompting Logan to lean up and kiss him, softly and heartbreakingly gentle. Leo kissed him with purpose, running his tongue against Logan’s bottom lip and causing his breath to hitch.
He thought back to his musings of the night before during his panic in his bedroom and laughed against Logan’s lips. The brunet made a questioning humming noise, so Leo leaned back just far enough to whisper, “Maybe I’m clairvoyant.”
Finn laughed, bewildered. “What?”
Leo just glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, smiled, and combed a finger through red tresses. Sleep-mussed hair, soft smiles, and rough morning voices. Sitting at the table together, nursing cups of coffee as the sun rose over a clean, white blanket of snow. Talking and laughing and sharing some coffee-flavored kisses. Those had been his thoughts last night. And here he was, suddenly getting all of those things.
“Nothing, sweetheart.” Leo said, looking down at his two with overflowing fondness as he thought of the future and hoped that those musings would come true, too.

Gay SKULMUST to You and Yours
I wanna decorate but I don’t wanna deal with the nebulous resentful feelings of “I basically rejected chistianity when i was 5* (*children’s service or whatever when they made the kids go up front to get churched on during holiday service instead of letting us play in the basement, that was like baby’s first social anxiety trauma for me. and made me the godless heathen i am today.) and never looked back and also I loath the capitalist connotations of the holiday” and also I don’t really have decorations besides my homosexual glittlerbombed tree that I’ve had out all year because moving is hard and it makes me happy to see it sparkle rainbowly.
so I guess I’m making up my own holiday, Plaguemas is maybe too on the nose... while I was writing this I was gonna call it SKULLMAS, but while searching to make sure that wasn’t already a thing didn’t bring up much I felt like it was still too... idk. Obvious?
So I’m calling it SKULMUST (all caps, all the time) after skulls and my favorite (and hard to get in the US) soda, julmust! (The “must” loosely translates to unfermented fruit or juice, so I guess I’m calling my fake holiday “skull juice” hahaha) Because I mainly have glitter and halloween decorations. And I’m not buying more decorations.
Pandor’s SKULMUST Manifesto(? jk it’s a bulleted list)
SKULMUST is for anyone who wants to appreciate some cheesy x-mas vibes, but rejects the religious and capitalist connotations of Christmas
SKULMUST is for anyone who wants Halloween to be a 4 to 6+ month holiday instead of one day a year
SKULMUST is for anyone who is getting tired of MERRY CRISIS all the time and just wants to feel a little happy, as a treat.
SKULMUST begins whenever the first store decides to start putting out the halloween decorations (the earliest I’ve seen is mid May) and ends when you get bored with it. (This sounds like it goes against the anti-capitalist sentiment I laid out prior, but it’s mainly 1. irony and 2. just admit it, you celebrate the pumpkin watch every year and you know it.)
SKULMUST encourages recycling and crafting to make your decorations, only buy more supplies if you really need them and only support small independent businesses
SKULMUST has no dress requirements but one: WEAR A FUCKING MASK*. Other than than that, create your own SKULMUST costume vibe! Ugly sweaters + general Gothiness + Dickensian Victorian floof + early 2000′s Emo mall kid... listen to your heart and go buckwild. (*in SKULMUST future, when we’ve presumably gotten rid of this plague, wear masks in remembrance.)
Entertainment of SKULMUST: Muppets Christmas Carol (preferably a copy that doesn’t cut Belle’s song), Whisper of the Heart (Ghibli’s love letter to depressed young creatives and a damn fine film), Metropolis (1927) or Metropolis (2001). MST3K S05E21. And like I guess Nightmare Before Christmas, if you wanna like be obvious.
Spirit of SKULMUST: If you have the means, donate to a non-shitty charity or directly to anyone who’s having a rough time. Make Charles Dickens proud.
Decorations of SKULMUST : Primarily up to your own tastes, but the general thesis of SKULMUST is the blatant unholy marriage of skulls and skeletons to garlands and wreaths, but like also GAY. (You don’t HAVE to be gay yourself to celebrate SKULMUST, but I am gay. So like, as the creator of this bogus holiday, I sez the decorations gotta have that vibe. I will relax the “don’t buy stuff” rule to allow emergency December Diamonds ornament purchases.) Do you have a motion activated screeching rat decoration? Put a santa hat on it’s head. Or whatever! You keep SKULMUST in your way, and I’ll keep it in mine! But yeah like regardless of your background, you’ve got a skull. Embrace the skull, celebrate the skull. Glam up some skulls!
Slogans of SKULMUST : Gay SKULMUST to You! Queer Tidings! WEAR A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE THIS SKULMUST! An isolated and weird SKULMUST to all! (I need suggestions for more, they just need to be primarily LGBTQIA+ and plague punny.)
Ok I’ve spent way longer on this and thought too deeply about SKULMUST than I intended. Gonna go dig thru some boxes and make a SKULMUST wreath now. Or go to bed. I got sleepy!
#skulmust#my new holiday that is totally real and not fake#long post#sorry i got way too carried away with this#i didn;t need to write a novel about gluing skulls on garlands#but i did#whee

Meeting Shouta’s parents on Christmas
Hello all you beautiful people! So here is the last part in the Aizawa mini series. I fell in love with all these Characters and this head cannon so I will probably revisit them! As usually the reader is neutral in every since of the word! I hope you guys enjoyed this series.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aizawa Shouta x Reader
After a month of preparation you meet Aizawa’s Parent over the course of a week
Words: 3,098
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Ooh my goodness what are we gonna do!?” You said pacing around your living room. Shouta looked at you and chuckled at your frazzled state.
“We get in my car and drive to my family house as planned, pretend to enjoy ourselves so we can come home and cuddle with my fat cats.” He said, pulling you into a hug.
“You want me to show up to meet your parents without the gift I ordered for you dad? Shouta are you outta your mind.” You said to him with a pout.
“Well that's debatable but I do know my parents and they aren't even expecting anything so it's fine. You can just tell them we’ll get it to him when we get it. Now let's go!” He said trying to drag you to the car.
“Aizawa Shouta! I am not going anywhere unless it's to a store to buy your Dad a gift.” You said giving him a glare. He stared back as if to question if you were being serious. You cocked an eyebrow at him, challenging him to disagree.
“Were gonna be late to get there, do you want that?”
“Better to be late than to show empty handed especially when everyone else has gifts.” You said with a shrug. Aizawa laughed but nodded as you both went to the store. You wandered around the place for an hour before you found something you actually liked. Now you were in the car messily wrapping in as you pulled into the driveway of your destination.
“Okay goodness gracious we barely made it but we're here and I have gifts for all your siblings and their lovers and their kids! Didn't think I would pull it off but here we are in one piece.” You said mostly to yourself.
“Kitty Cat you start talking to yourself and I might leave you to enter the den of wolves by yourself.” Aizawa said as you both got out of the car. You let him take in your overnight bags and get help for the millions of presents somehow packed into your small car you didn't wait long as you felt as presence behind you.
“Hello you, perfect example of a gorgeous human being!” The voice said from behind you.
“Shinji, how nice to see you.” You said with a sigh.
“You know if you’re tired of sighing that way… I have a better way to make you sigh.” He said winking at you. You had to push back all the thoughts of murdering him and just smiled but before you could say anything another voice interjected.
“See I told you we had to come out here! Shinji stop hitting on y/n their dating our little brother you snake.” Saika said, hitting him over the head.
“Can't help it, sis!” He said with a laugh.
“Well for this week you absolutely will have better control overself or so help me God Shinji! Anyway y/n you’ve got me, Shinji and sora at your beck and call, what do you need help with?” Saika said with her graceful smile.
“Oh just this.” You said pointing to the car packed with presents. Sora seemed to choke on air at the amount of gifts.
“God, didn't Shouta tell you didn't have to buy everyone a gift, you poor thing!” Saika said hugging you.
“Well he did but I just really like you guys and loved getting to know you this past month so I wanted to.” You said waving her off.
“More like you wanted to impress our parents, huh cutie?” Shinji said teasing you before he started to grab presents as to avoid his sister wacks.
“Ignore him! My mom is dying to meet you, Shouta’s never brought anyone home.” She said as her and Sora grabbed some more presents. As they went in you pulled out the last two rounds of presents and waited for Aizawa who wasn't far behind.
“Hey love are you ready?” Aizawa said, picking up the presents you set out.
“I am totally not!! I barely remember everyone's name! We should just slip away right now!” You said beginning to pace some more.
“Babe i'm gonna go inside and wait on you, come in whenever you want but remember we are late.” He said with a light chuckle.
“Sho!! don't you go into your house without me!” You said picking up the gifts and following him like a lost puppy. That was that and soon you were inside the house with a lot of eyes on you. You followed aizawa while bowing and placed the toys underneath the huge tree.
“Alright now that that’s done let me meet the one whose stolen my baby’s heart so effortlessly!” A woman said coming over to you. You bowed deeply to her and she let out a melodious laugh.
“How cute, no need to bow so deep! I should be bowing to you, you who is able to make my stoic Shouta blush, giggle and pout!” She says grabbing your face and pulling it around as if to inspect it.
“Oh Honey, you stop it! They are just being polite, you know like Japanese culture requires them to be.” A tall man said coming over to you.
“I'm just saying! Anyway you can call me Mina and this is my parasite of 41 years Hirohito! Nice to meet you!” She said hugging you, you were a bit surprised by how informal and kind they were.
“Excuse my parents, they were born and raised in America! No less Japanese but they are a bit more informal and that does shock a lot of people.” Shojiro said scratching his neck.
“Oh hush boy! Don’t put a warning label on me and your mom as if we are damaged goods.” Hirohito said, knocking him over the head.
“Now it’s getting later we should all wash up and get ready to eat! I made something special for you all. And Sho I put a king size bed in your room since you’ve finally brought someone home. If you want to take advantage of that and make me some grandchildren then don’t worry we will hold up dinner for you!” His mom said kissing his cheek. He groaned and grabbed your hand and pulled you away and soon you were in his room.
“See, was that so hard?” Aizawa said with a flushed face.
“Ehh you look like it was, tomato paste! But I think it went okay! I can do this!!” You said hyping yourself up.
“Yes you can, kitty cat. After dinner only 6 more days to go.”
“WHY do you guys do Christmas gatherings for a week!” You whisper yelled at him.
“Because we have a doting mother who wants to smother us every chance she gets and a father who would do anything for her.” He said serious, you laughed and got ready for dinner. When you and Aizawa made it to the dining room, you were met with three huge dining tables. Almost every seat filled.
“Sweetheart, you and y/n come sit right here! I’ve got so many things to ask you!” His mom said waving you over.
“Thank you… Mina. Your way to kind!” You said with another bow. Dinner was pretty quiet at first but how quiet can you be with like 30 people in one room.
“Saika, dear, you were in charge of the schedule this year can you read it off for everyone.” Mina said.
“Of course! So on the 20th aka tomorrow it’s all about decorations and the tree! 21st is all about taking the kids to see Santa! 22nd is Family photo day! 23 is the gingerbread houses contest and reindeer games! 24th is sugar cookie making and movies! 25th is a grand breakfast and present opening! Bring forth the cup of straws!” Saika said giggling. Sora rolled his eyes but got the cup and passed it around, everyone taking a straw.
“Okay now blow into if red dust comes out you’re in charge of taking the kids to see Santa!” She announced and everyone did. Of fucking course red dust billowed from you straw. You looked at Shouta and he shook his head at you and your heart dropped.
“So then it’s me and you, how fortunate!” Shinji said waving at you. You couldn’t control yourself and your head dropped onto the table dramatically.
“Haha, Shinji y/n already knows what a pain in the ass you are! you must be losing your style dear! Not to worry y/n, Shinji will be on his best behavior won’t you?” Mina said as an ominous silence fell over the room. Shinji didn’t hesitate to nod.
“Okay then! Y/n, welcome to the Aizawa family. I hope you enjoy your first Christmas with us! With that let us begin the 6 days of chaos!” Mina said laughing lifting her glass, everyone joined laughing. Okay maybe this won’t be so bad you thought for a brief second.
20th - 5 Days till Christmas
“Dad I understand you like to hang lights up dangerously but do you have to drag y/n into it.” Aizawa said as he watched you nervously. You were on the roof helping his dad put up a few decorations and lights.
“Of course I did, if they’re gonna be an Aizawa one day they gotta learn all our trade secrets.” He retorted as if it was common knowledge.
“I’ve never seen my little Sho so worried. I can’t figure out if it’s because your kind and you love him so much or if you’ve got him by the balls or maybe even both.” Mina said with a slight chuckle. This made you warm in embarrassment and you lost your footing and began to fall, of course taking the old man with you.
“Shit!” Aizawa said as he quickly used his capture weapon to grab both you and stop your impact from being damaging.
“Yeah alright, me and y/n are opting out of decorations this year.” He said dragging you who was still in his captured weapon toward the door.
“Oh honey calm down it would have just been a small bump and maybe a sprain. Would you at least help Shinji and Sora with the kids, decorating the tree?” She said with a kind yet manipulative smile. Before either of you could respond yelling was heard from inside
“Damn it, Yukio stop breaking the glass ornaments and Maki stop recording and help me!” Shinji yelled.
21st- 4 Days till Christmas
“Shinji what the hell do we do!” You said pacing.
“Hold on stop talking I’m thinking.”
“Like hell I’m trusting your brain! We just have to ask them to let us take pictures anyway.” You said with determination. You see everything was going well until and elf said something to Haru that Jun took as bullying. A fire light in that boy like you had never seen he was on top of the elf giving him the business in seconds. After he just mumbled things like ‘Bakugou said you can’t let people bully you.’ And ‘gotta put bullies in their place.’. Then when you tried to get him to apologize he glared and said ‘no, I can’t let that bully win’ and just like that y’all were kicked out.
“No look let’s just disguise them! Tetsuya and Haru stitch clothing and Haru and Umi switch! Then Maki will take them and her pictures with them.
“What about Maki though they saw her!” You said not believing you were actually going along with his crazy plan.
“Oh I have a change of clothes, gotta be prepared when you’re going out with uncle Shinji!” She said cheerfully.
“That’s my girl! Now go do this thing!” He said giving her and high five. Someone how Shinji’s ridiculous plan worked and the parents didn’t even notice, they were all too drunk or tired.
22nd - 3 Days until Christmas
“There is no way I'm taking pictures wearing this.” Sora said as he pulled the clothes from the box.
“Yeah mom, why did you make Sho pick clothes this year you know he cant even dress himself! It’s because you babied him so much, you know.” Shojiro said, looking as equally as disgusted at the clothing.
“Hey now! I put my baby in charge of the clothing and you all are gonna wear it, end of discussion. Also if anyone babied him it was all of you so blame yourself.” Mina said, ending the discussion as Shouta wore a crazed grin.
“I like the clothes Uncle sho’ta.” Nozomi said rocking on her heels.
“They are pretty cute huh?” He said ruffing her hair.
“Ah ah ah! Don't you go infecting my kids with your bad fashion sense!.” Saika said, covering Nozomi's ears. At this you all broke out into laughs before heading to put on the outfits and prepare for maybe the most embarrassing photos known to man.
23rd - 2 days till Christmas
You were not an artist by any means but when you heard the winner got the honor of passing out presents you were purposely trying to lose. You knew them apart mostly but if they were all wearing the same pajamas with their hair tied back it was going to be a stuttering mess. However your plan of making a 3 out of 10 gingerbread house was foiled quickly. Aizawa wasn't really a competitive man or so you thought but when you to were paired against Shinji and Shojiro he went berserk! You looked at the gingerbread MANSION with a sigh.
“Shouta i’ve never seen you so invested! It's amazing.” Said Shizumi the resident artist in the house.
“Yeah uncle Shouta and L/N! You definitely got my vote!” Daisuke said smiling at you, you smiled back at him warily. The family all wrote down the people of their choosing and put it into the Santa hat. Now as names were being drawn you were biting your nails.
“Shouta and Y/n will be our Clauses this year.” Hirohito said with a small smile.
“Yay y/n wins.” Haru and Jun danced around you. You giggled before glaring at Aizawa in a way that said when we get home your sleeping on the couch, he just kissed you sweetly.
24th - 1 Day till Christmas
“Uncle Shouta stopped making so many cat cookies! Santa wants other shapes too!” Tetsuya said, hitting Shouta repeatedly on his legs. You laughed evilly as you formed another cat cookie and wrote Shouta’s name on the corner.
“I like your cat cookies.” Nozomi said, playing with her hair. Aizawa picked her up and spun her around.
“Okay, yep that's weird Baby brother! Why is Nozomi clinging to you? What did you do?” Shiori said looking back and forth from you and Shouta.
“Nothing.” Shouta said with a smirk. The family then looked at you hopeful.
“Well would you look at that! It's about time to watch the Grinch isn't it, Rei?” You asked the young boy. He eagerly nodded wanting to escape the situation.
“You got Rei too? What is happening!” Saika said as she grabbed Rei bringing him to her chest.
“Huh where is your DVD player? I got to put the disk in.” You said completely ignoring her.
25th - Christmas Day
The gift giving had been going pretty successfully. You only Stuttered a few times but you hadn't given anyone the wrong present and let Shouta take the ones with Nicknames you didn't know. But this right here was the moment of truth, the moment you had been preparing for. In your right hand you had a gift for Shizumi and in your left one for Saika. You looked at the two twin like sisters and handed the gifts to each respectful sister hoping you were right. They opened the gifts and smiled so you guessed you were correct had everyone's eyes not been on you, you would have done a happy dance.
“Alright last gift before Mom and Dads are for Miss Nozomi!” Shouta said signaling you to get the present you and him picked out for the young girl.
“Alright this is from me and Uncle Shouta!” You said to the girl handing her the blue box. She said a quiet thank you before tearing into the box. Inside the box was a note which she took out.
“Look at your favorite uncle.” She said before looking straight at Shouta making all the other brothers gasp. In Shouta’s arm was a cute 3 legged kitten which had the girl darting toward him but slowed when she got to him so as not to scare the cat.
“Thank you!” The girl said, rubbing at her teary eyes. You and Aizawa had been teaching her how to care for cats knowing she wanted one. In all honesty she knew she was getting a cat she just didn't know when. You had asked her parents as well but didn't tell then when either so as to have a bigger reaction from the family.
“No need to thank me! Just promise me to take care of him real well.” Aizawa thumbed away the last of her tears. She nodded rapidly before snuggling the kitten who seemed to enjoy the attention. The last arc of gift giving went well as did the extravagant breakfast you had all prepared together. Now you were all saying goodbye.
“Y/n dear I do have one last parting gift for you.” Mina said as you rounded the corner with your bags. You placed down your bags and went to her side.
“I know you and Shouta haven't been together too long but I want to thank you. He acts tougher than he is. He would rather bear all the responsibility and pain and suffer alone. Not to mention the way he puts himself in danger rather than ask for help. With you he seems different, and you put him in his place. You’ve made me feel at ease for the first time since he entered UA as a student. So welcome to the family, we're so glad to have you.” She said putting something into your hands. You bowed at her and opened your palm to see a key to this house and a few pictures taken over the course of the week. You waved goodbye to them all and got your bags and made the short trip to your car where Shouta was waiting.
“Why do you look like you're going to cry.” He said worried.
“Because there are 365 days till next Christmas.” You said to him smiling.

S/o Sleepover with the Dwuang + yong Joseph ?
I’m sorry, personal stuff has been crazy, I hope it’s okay with just Okuyasu and Josuke and Joseph.
The Duwang first has the idea when Okuyasu says that he has never had a sleepover. Josuke pounces on the chance and shakes him around, “DUDE!”
“What?”
Koichi chimes in “We should have a big sleepover!”
Josuke hops around in a small circle like a kid on Christmas eve. “We should do it at your house!”
After that, the plan was set, Two days from then, from 7:00pm to 10:00am.
Josuke
“Y/N, Y/N! Are you ready for the best night ever?”
He is so friggin excited! He is packing early and buying snacks and everything!
Blankets are a yes, big ones so he can snuggle next to you. He is stoked to get his chill on.
Bam! Romantic movie, BAM, Marvel, BAM, oh, some DVD about him as a baby. He brings it to his mom, “What is this doing with the movies?” Tomoko laughs and tells him it was just a keepsake she made herself when he was small. You yank in out of his hands and pack it in with the rest of your stuff for the sleepover.
Totally worth it.
By the time you guys are almost all settled after watching Captain America, you whip out the DVD much to Josuke’s surprise. “Y/N! No!!!”
You slide it in and watch a small wrinkly infant appear on screen. Bald.
Josuke sighs in defeat.
“Josuke, you were bald as a baby?” Yukako snickers.
“Hey, like you are one to judge me! You were probably just a baby... made of- hair or something!” Josuke defends.
It doesn’t make a lot of sense but as the slideshow progresses you can see him with some black tuft on his little head. From his first smiles and giggles to rolling over. This must have meant a lot to Tomoko. The more you watched, he gets bigger and bigger and his hair grows out until by age 4, the famous pompadour makes it daybout. He slowly grows more and more confident and your boyfriend slides up to you and puts his hand on yours and you wrap each other in one of the many blankets Okuyasu had.
“You sure grew up to be handsome.”
He smiles.
“You were adorable though.”
“I’m not adorable...” He pouts. “I’m... masculine, and-”
You kiss him “And mine.”
Okuyasu
Shoot. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
On the day of the sleepover he shouts, “Y/N! You’ve gotta help me!!!” He wraps his arms around your waist and slowly sinks to the floor. “I dunno what I’m doing...” He actually starts tearing up.
“Oku, you’re gonna be fine. I’ve got you.”
You start by picking out a room for the sleepover to take place, “Living room would be good, right?” Okuyasu sets up a metric ton on blankets on the floor. “Is that enough blankets?”
You giggle, “More than enough, babe.”
“Oh thank god, I spend my months allowance on this stuff.”
“So, Josuke is bringing snacks and movies, and Koichi and Yukako are bringing games and activities, we just need to have the place decorated and music.
You make a quick stop at your house and grab a bunch of fairy lights and by the store to pick up the latest album you had been saving for and you phone Josuke and tell him to bring a CD player for music.
When the time comes, everybody is awed by the lights and the enormous pillowfort from all of Okuyasu’s blankets. When Josuke goes to set up the movies Okayasu pulls you aside, “Thank you, Y/N. I couldn’t have gotten this to look as good as it is without you.” He awkwardly scratches the back of his neck. You reach up and cup his cheeks in your hands, “Anything for you babe.” You give hima quick peck and slip away to go watch
Young Joseph
“Oh, Y/N!~”
You stop what you’re doing and follow the sound of his voice to him. “Y/N! Guess what?!”
You smile and shrug.
“Tonight, Lisa Lisa has Caesar and I pulling an all nighter! She wants us to spend all night awake without a wink of sleep, she says it’ll show resilience, or something, but do you know what that means?”
“Hamon training?” You ask.
“NO! SLEEPOVER!” He practically swings you around, “My best friend and my lover, having a whole night of fun together!”
“You made that sound really weird, Joseph.”
“My bad, but we can hang out all night, that’s like...”
You sit and wit for him to do the math in his head and then count on his fingers...
“8+ hours for anything!”
You smirk, “So, what’s the plan? Some booze and and music?”
“Precisely! I got some stuff in my room and then we just need a couple records and we’ve got a night of fun!”
“Okay, I get it. But don’t ever call it that again.”
The night begins with Joseph rushing into Caesar’s room yelling, “I BROUGHT TEQUILA!”
You brought some makeup with you, Joseph said you should but you weren't expecting 2+ hours to be dedicated to ‘Joseph’s Drag Show’. You enjoyed it but Caesar just sat in the corner just shaking his head. Joseph frequently begged Caesar to let him put makeup on his face, with that a new competition began. Whoever falls asleep first gets a full face of makeup.
They played ‘Never have I ever’ with shots, and just competed over who was better with ladies, in the end, they both got super drunk, it was never decided because they threw hands and passed out. You were still somewhat sober and decided to cake both of them in makeup.
