My Fitbit auto recognized my ride as a run and gps tracked it accordingly 😂😂😂
6/18- ride. It was hot and neither me nor the pony wanted to move much so we did some trot laps with circles and a couple canter laps with a couple poles and called it a day
6/19- started slow but managed to do a bit more. The pony seemed ready to move so I leaned into. Tried to more lateral work similar to my 6/8 lesson. With some haunches out both directions at a walk and trot and then lots of leg yields. I don’t really know if are leg yields are good but she is fun to do them on. We stay straight and then just zig zag on and off the rail and it makes me feel cool and is so fun. Did some canter work over the poles and then some diagonals with lead changes. I really want to get better/actually learn flying lessons changes. Mid jumping lesson it’s always just “kick outside leg” which like is not going to do it for me. So I do simple changes. Then I did some more of the canter work from the last lesson and picking up either the correct or counter canter on the straight away. While not all of the transitions were great we did always get the lead I was going for 🥳🥳 I still use to much inside rein and not enough leg I think but my wonderful pony accommodates and I felt about good about it. Ended with some no stirrup work that while slow did still have moments of good bend and some more fun leg yields (gotta find a way to have fun with no stirrups)
Went for a walk around the property after which went well minus walking past the barn workers house. She and my friends horse both spooked the first time past it , (they were dealing with their grill and moving things about). So then we circled back around and walked past again and she spooked again. I tried to get her to turn around and walk back to it but we only went backwards and I couldn’t get her to go. So I hopped off and walked her back to them and then past again. She was really good on the ground (she usually is) so I decided to call that good enough. I have a hard time find the balance between helping them work through things and not pushing them too hard. She walked calmly past it even if we didn’t calmly ride past it and that will be okay for today
