I have completely neglected the alpaca/merino project in favor of the Icelandic fleece. Like I said I wouldn’t.
#the lanolin is just so good#I’m in love#I’m spinning the inner fleece z and the outer fleece s and then weaving it as a 2/1 twill#or a 1/3 twill depending on the loom#but since I’m weaving w singles for the first time it will probably be the rigid heddle#I hear from one single blog that doing a double coat in twill like that makes a more water proof ‘layer’ on the warp face side#and a warmer softer layer on the weft face side#and I’m trying to spin the undercoat/weft from the cloud and as loosely as I can#to make it softer and warmer#very difficult#I’m a chronic over spinner#AND!
