The Wayhaven Chronicles (WIP Series in Development) - @seraphinitegames  (Look,,, I’m just... obsessed.. I can’t stop thinking abt it,,, and I'm..... sometimes, I read and I think I feel like I know what love is.)

Mind Blind (WIP) - @mindblindbard (I just,, UGH it’s so good. I can't even say that much because my feelings about it are so potent that everytime I see an update I try to tell myself to leave it alone to play larger portions of updates as a treat and everytime my willpower FAILS and I replay the demo like twice in a row)

Demon: Recollect ; Forsaken (WIP) - both by @bathalafiction (whew...WHEW!!! Are you kidding me?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Look. I was attached to Demon: Recollect. I loved it. And then I played the Forsaken WIP and now I can't get over my absolutely BOMB character design for my player persona. Also it's kind of fun being considered a jerk in the game, because it opens up a lot of different options that I usually feel bad about taking)

Shadow Society - @carawenfiction (the concept is so interesting,, I dream of more. Also Quaiel...baby...)

The Soul Stone War - @intimidatingpuffinstudios (also whew!! I really enjoyed it and the characters all picture themselves really vividly in my mind for some reason.)

Greenwarden (WIP) - @fiddles-ifs (reading this is like thick fog.. but in a good way? I don't know how to describe it without pictures but this IF smells like fog over wet grass)

Divine Intervention (WIP) - @divineinterventiongame (the concept?? UGH SO GOOD. For some reason it's always the first game I click to check for updates)

Supernatural in New York ; The Bastard of Camelot (both WIPs) - @llamagirl28  (UGH Both of these are so good in their own ways but equally as exciting to see updates for. I haven't consolidated my feelings much further than "my MC for SiNY is so cute" and "Mordred is a child" but they're all generally positive.)

Attollo (WIP) - @attollo (Also a very interesting concept, whoo... I almost forgot how immersive it was untill I played the demo again and was reminded of how 'into it' I was straight off the bat. Also the seperate, short little piece on the blog with Sysba was also really good and I had a dream about it the other day)

Into the Shadows (WIP) - @wynnakang​ (whooo.... I'm sighing again, but louder. I press restart and play the demo again)

A Comedy of Manors (WIP) - @sviyaginthegreat (I kept replaying options that I hadn't chosen before because I wanted there to be more lmao)

Fallen Hero: Rebirth - @fallen-hero (I think there's a sequel coming up? I haven't stopped thinking about this storyline since I finished it omg... the.. the details are really good and I've become ridiculously attached to my tragic villain? Character... she IS the standard for my reusable IF persona, or at least one of my most prominent ones ;-D )

Samurai of Hyuga (WIP series) - (I'm pretty sure multiplechoicestudios.com is the development blog for this game, or at least what I've been checking for updates..... this is a series with four book currently out.... and I've been playing through book 4 at slower than a snail's pace in a desperate attempt to prolong my experience. I really didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did but I got a little too into it and now I'm horribly attached to all the characters)

The Porthecrawl Witness(WIP) - @porthecrawl-witness (I'm pretty sure this is a WIP?? But ugh. SCREEEEEE- it's so good. It's SO GOOD. I really want to punch Talbot in the face. And Asher, if for a different reason. And sort of Staci just to try. Quinn is just a cutie I could never hurt him like that. Ugh but they're all so good and I forgot that I was reading a WIP untill it suddenly was over..... I'mfeeling really aggressive rn as I'm writing this, so please just note that the punch comment is meant as a statement on how interesting the concept and immersiveness of the characters and story is)

Forgotten Names (WIP) - by Alexandra_Zorila on the CoG Forum (turn the volume up. AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Look, look. It's..... delicious. It's SO interesting and I obsessively have a tab open on my computer to check for updates)

OFNA: Birds of a Feather (WIP) - @ofna (the vibes are so grey and smoky but the fog is definitely from a party smoke machine and the room is only dark because the walls are taped with those huge sheets of black construction paper that teachers use to cover their bulletin boards with... the game definitely falls in the 'dark and mysterious' genre but something just strikes me as really funny when I play it. Anyway it's good and it's in a lot if recommended lists for a reason. Also I'm very attached to my American Goldfinch)

More Things in Heaven and Earth (WIP) - @morethingsgame (in the same way that it's fun to play Guenevere in the Guenevere game or Mordred in The Bastard of Camelot, playing Ophelia in the sort-of Hamlet story is really fun. If anyone has read the Missing collection- which I absolutely love- by Margaret Peterson Haddix, this gives me similar vibes for some reason. Anyway, I really want to give Hamlet a hug and make him a flower crown or something)

A Tale of Crowns (WIP) - @ataleofcrowns (It's kind of not even funny how much I love this game... It's hard to even describe why I like it, just that it's so well rounded in terms of the story, characters, dialogue, and relationships. It's such an interesting plotline and it's pretty immersive. Also the first time I read the demo, there was an update as I was reading and the high that sent me on has very rarely been matched. Also Dara running to save my Crown in the tunnel?? 🤚😩🤭💓 ugh. UGH!! That's good food for my fool heart)

Scout: An Apocalypse Story (WIP)- @anya-dev (I'm usually not that into apocalypse themes/plots but I really enjoyed this game, and the plot was very good and intruiging... it really pulled me in and I like my character in the story a lot. I don't know why but it tastes like chikuwa, atsuage, and this specific type of carmelized onions that my mom makes sometimes)

Nothing left to burn (WIP)- @clowdee-works (......ouch. I *knew* what was going to happen and I STILL became attached to Drew)

Smoke and Velvet - @roast-ifs (It's good. And I am VEDY much into my character design. Also the story is really interesting, and I enjoy the setting a lot somehow)

Speaker (WIP)- @speakergame (very fun to play, and each update gets me more interested in the aspects of the plot. I also really like the little descriptions of what the characters think of the player)

The Nameless (WIP)- @parkerlyn (interesting plot, I like the characters a lot, and The aesthetics of this world are so interesting. Definitely had a good time visualizing what everything looked like)

Fields of Asphodel (WIP) - @asphodelgame (I think it's really cute so far!!! I like mythology in general, and the persephone/hades dynamic is *mwah!*... I like the way the story progresses in the beginning, and I think it works well in drawing the reader into the world. I also very much enjoy petting large dogs.)

I'm not sure why I can't find it rn but there's this one WIP game that I really like where the MC buys a manor for like dollar and moves to go live there with her best friend and shenanigans ensue as they try to settle in and fix up the estate

Harbringer (WIP) - @harbringercog (....are you KIDDING me?? I was fully planning on just enjoying the demo and keeping a mental note to update the list sometime later,,, but this game... THIS GAME really made me fold. It's very immersive and regardless of how nervous the author claims to be after releasing the demo, it's of my humble opinion that those nerves can be calmed. It's very good. I was planning on procrastinating and reading a little bit and then going back to this essay I need to write, but somehow I got pulled in and ended up reading through the whole demo and it's apparent that I honestly had no chance of getting through this without becoming invested in the plot.... just... so good.. I'm very excited to see how this will progress)

Visual Novels:

Andromeda 6 (WIP) - @andromeda-six​  (I repeat: Obsessed, I come back every few months to see an update and I fall deeper into the hole every time...)

To the Edge of the Sky (WIP,, probably) - by Ajané (??) on Steam (I think, it’s been a while)

Does.... does The Arcana game by Nix Hydra count as VN?? If so, then yes.

Similarly, the FictIF games are all entertaining, although Last Legacy and Heir to Love and Lies are my favorites rn (and.....unfinished....)

I also don't know if this counts, because I kind of consider Otome games to be their own genre, but on the Love 365: find your story by Voltage Inc. There are a bunch of fun stories, my favorite of which are: the Shinichi Kagari route on After School Affairs and the Saejima and Keiichiro routes on Bad Boys do it Better

MatsuHana fanfic recs

HI LOVES :D MatsuHana is one of my FAVORITE ships and I always love reading their fics! I’m procrastinating my other wips rn, so that do be why this is coming out rn LOL. Also that ask really made me get onto writing this, so anon thank you for sending it in LOL. There are some with VERY sensitive topics and they’re very BOLD, but I hope you all are safe while going through this list <3 (also matsuhana leans more to lots of drinking, spicy smut scenes, and teenage boy humor (like d*ck jokes and sexual innuendos) and sometimes I don’t remember to warn for that, so again CAUTION)

When will I get to share a heart shaped bed with someone :( But I really love it when they just go with the flow of things, and other people are like,,, aren’t you already dating? BUT THEY’RE LIKE UMMM NO? HSAKJSH.

The vibes in this fic are immaculate and give me life (we love a good reunion with mystery writers), it is SO good! That’s why you should never leave/stop listening prematurely (@ iwa when he was a single dad fic). 

This gets annoying fast, Makki by Ink_stained_quills (G) 2.3k // IM IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC PLS I COULD NOT STOP CRYING TEARS OF LAUGHTER. This AU needs more fics PLEASE. It was SO freakin’ funny and the other teams KILLED ME. Like how they all approached the problem differently and how some of them (KUROO) asked for help LOL. Please this is so freaking funny go read it.

quidditch gloves, parchment, and custard cream by h_lovely (T) 12.4k // THIS IS SO GOOD, I love this fic. It really takes you through the emotions, and I love all the development in it!!!! Their relationship with one another (but only as homies right? ofc ofc), and even their families loving the other, this fic is so good! Read it even if you don’t like slow burn, you won’t even notice <3333

call me maybe by totooru (T) 33.6k // okay yea another (semi) chat fic,,, fight me. MatsuHana are just funny in general but throw some other characters (like Kuroo) into it and it turns into a comedy show. But the main point of this fic was like the near miss meetings and I think that the misunderstanding were hilarious (as much as I hate misunderstandings LOL).

Magical Mishaps and How to Deal by plumtrees (M) 10.9k // I lost this fic once and I searched for it FOR THE LONGEST TIME. But that’s cause I wanted to reread this masterpiece. IT’S SO FUNNY AND CUTE AND DOMESTIC AND UGH. Also the small angst made me SO SAD. But the ENDING? THE KISSES AHHHHHHH. (I’m yelling a lot BUT that’s cause I really love this fic <3333)

hang out fall in love by carafin (T) 8.6k // I love the Makki hates Mattsun initially but then falls for the irresistible charm he posses trope. It might be my favorite trope for MatsuHana specifically LOL. Like I really love this fic and it has MAGIC. It’s like a magical version of the VA one LOL. But like no radio shows or reunited best friends in this one :(

THESE ARE VERY ANGST!!!!!!!

boiled frogs by reginagalaxia (E) 91.5k // is it possible to hate a character this much? I never realized how much hate/rage I had in me. Really. Like. Imma boutta fight this MF LIKE SQUARE UP. The way I tried to manifest a fake characters death like,,,, Anyway. If my RAGE doesn’t explain how good of a freakin writer they are, then idk what will. PLEASE READ THE TAGS AND WARNINGS, THERE ARE VERY SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!

Even Though it All Went Wrong by plumtrees (T) 9.2k // THIS IS THE REASON THIS POST CAME TO BE. I love this fic with all my heart (or what’s left of it). Like LOVE as in, this fic really broke me beyond just breaking me. Like. When Oikawa says what he says to Mattsun after the thing (you’re sorry __ _____ __ ____) and the Iwa right after (we know __’__ ___ ______ to make you ____ __ ____) (if you’re wondering wtf I’m putting here, just ctrl F you’re sorry and you’ll see), you cannot believe how hard that hit. GOD. (I am okay if you’re wondering :’)) This is my #1 favorite angst fic of all time and if you are okay mentally and have read the tags and warnings and are fine with them, then please read it. PLEASE READ THE TAGS AND WARNINGS, THERE ARE VERY SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!

The Truth Comes Out by Your_Friendly_Neighborhood_Pigeon (T) 10.2k // this made me so sad and empty after I read it. Like I just sat there being like wtf did I just read I’m sad now. Again read the tags, there is a suicide attempt but there’s also some cheating in this one. This one also ends happy. PLEASE READ THE TAGS AND WARNINGS, THERE ARE VERY SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!

kiyala // this writer has a LOT of fluffy MatsuHana and I really love their works! It’s just all (for the most part) really cute and there’s a lotta blurred lines and boundaries that get cleared up (they define what their relationship is but with ~love~) in their fics :) My fav? Making Sense by kiyala (T) 1.5k // it’s very cute and I am one who loves when things just fall into place :D

tookumade // this writer has some of MY FAVORITE MatsuHana fics in it and I’m kinda really sad I don’t get to ramble on about them here :( (dw I will elsewhere LOL) If I had to choose, I would say Remind Me by tookumade (T) 28.6k and Zenith, Nadir by tookumade (T) 10.7k were my absolute favorites, but I cannot choose between them so don’t make me.

plumtrees // I LOVE THIS WRITER OMG. Again, someone who has written my all time FAVORITE fics (did I mention OF ALL TIME?) and I’ve obsessively read some of them too many times :’) Because I already recommended my other faves above, Captured Light by plumtrees (T) 3.5k will be my acting favorite rn. It’s really cute and depicts some really sweet moments between MatsuHana too!

h_lovely // this writer has SO MANY GOOD FICS! I really love their series and their getting together fics are all SO GOOD UGH. I recommended my favorite teen one above, but the other ones I loved are explicit so just check out this writer in general LOL. (I REALLY love mirror flower, water moon, it’s my favorite but it’s E cause some smexy scene happen, but it’s really SO good omfg. Also the roses series IS AMAZING as well!!!!)

cream puffs and carnations; by crossbelladonna (series) 11.6k // AU SERIES!!! I love the AU’s in this series and I really liked the prompts they chose for this MatsuHana week :D My favorite from this series might’ve been there he is again by crossbelladonna (T) 1.6k cause a) I love the mattsun hc in this (for his appearance) and b) IT’S CUTE :D I definitely related to Makki and his not very subtle crushing, and also I like the IwaOi + Makki as friends trope (and then they meet Mattsun), if you couldn’t tell yet LOL.

on the anatomy of crushes by carafin (T) 2.3k // (kinda cp but not LOL) it’s very short and cute and I love it a lot LOL. I love medical AU’s (even though it’s very back burner LOL), but also, like Mattsun saves the day is the move. Like the dedication he has even going on the bus? Especially for a guy? Amazing. I could never :’)

Parallel Lines by orphan_account (T) 16.3k // IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC LIVES IN MY MIND RENT FREE CONSTANTLY. I hate math. Just putting that out here. And while it’s a math fic, IT? IS? SO? GOOD???? And like I love it when characters are smart, like I love intelligent characters so like this was just ajndf. (also same Mattsun, I am allergic to normal math.) 

live it up, drink it in by punybastard (T) 2.1k // GAH this one! This is a pretty iconic fic in MatsuHana hell (in my personal opinion) and if I didn’t have that two fic limit on my staple fics, this would be there. I really loved the ending of it (v cute and v well done), but also the small side stories that were inserted made it all the more entertaining :D (aka the volleyball) But they are drinking underage, so if you’re not about that BE WARNED.

it's cold out here by bishounen_curious (M) 8.6k // PLEASE I LOVE THIS FIC. YES READ YESYESYES READ. OKAY FIRST check tags and warnings, there’s a lot going on in this fic. Like don’t be stupid like them, drinking underage, and don’t do drugs not a good idea very very bad. Aside from that, I am in love with sad sad sad Makki (along with stupid IwaOi) and him being a sad drunk made me ajhkjdfs. Just read it and feel the akfnakjs with me LMFAO.

poolside by tothemoon (T) 4.1k // I’m starting this out with I LOVE the ending and I REALLY LOVE the way this confession panned out. It’s such a great concept and it made me ajhfldshf inside!!! Also, recursive endings are some of my favorites (if you couldn’t already tell LOL), and I think it really makes something so nostalgic and adds depth to a fic.

The Courage of Stars by FairyLights101 (T) 7.1k // AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THIS FIC YES!!!! OKAY TW CANCER THERE’S CANCER IN THIS NO DEATH JUST PAIN and chemo (which basically is pain). Some controversy, but the angst part of me wanted him to die DONT GET ME WRONG, I’m glad he lived, but like imagine. I really love this fic, and his efforts in the bucket list were admirable :’)

we could be the greatest team by anyadisee (T) 5.7k // it’s my crack fic :D Yes, this is just Seijoh messing around, boys being boys, relationships being compared with other relationships. No pining, just me with my established relationships (and Iwa fanclubs cause those are a thing. ALWAYS).

Wet Your Whistle by darkmagicalgirl (E) 5.4k // SMUT ALERT okay but like while it’s a major plot point (lmfao I can’t believe myself), the storyline itself is good. Also, I’m all here for bartender Makki and tattoo Makki and not subtle at all Makki and basically everything Makki. I like banter and stupidity okay?

[obnoxious clucking noises] by parenthetic (renaissance) (T) 3.4k // some more crack fic for you <3333 Literally, just idiots being idiots. That’s the fic. LMFAO but seriously, I would like to participate as well,,,,, I have yet to lose a game of gay chicken cause of my lack of fear akdjaslk.

that's what you get (for waking up in vegas) by skittidyne (T) 4.2k // THIS IS SO FUNNY. I love Elvis cause he’s always officiating marriages in my fics LMFAO. But also IwaOi in this added some real nice comedy, and overall another crack fic but I really liked this one (AGAIN LMFAO).

A Bouquet of Flours by guyfierimpreg (G) 5.2k // first I want to know how they got the flour to scream, I just can’t figure it out so if anyone would like to send me pictures that’d be great. Second, they would do this bs and this is all canon. I said what I said, and I don’t take criticism. Like, matsuhana best parents proven by the magical mishaps fic (LMAO).

texting (with a capital S) by parenthetic (renaissance) (M) 2.1k // okay I just wanted to say that the accuracy in the math stuff being mentioned makes me feel like this writer was in calc ab or something and that’s trauma right there. Anyways, it’s a texting fic kinda sorta getting together kinda sorta not? Idk how to explain it, but it was funny and then smut LMFOAJIAHFSJS (the derail was just like IwaOi in gay chicken, someone call the police LMFAO).

nebulas by tothemoon (T) 10.8k // I like the casualness of it. Like the confession was just so casual (smooth Mattsun) and like the progression was GOOD. Like, it’s a very poetic fic and there’s lots of thinking of deeper meaning, but its still got some comedy sprinkled throughout. I really loved the flow of it!!!!

my heart beats for contract law by orphan_account (T) 4.4k // I too would have a breakdown over school (me pretending like I haven’t already done that ahaha), but I really love so many things about this fic! Everything was just so ajsdfljdsn and I really love the 3 part plan Mattsun comes up with :DDDD (esp pt 3). Also, to propose while having an emotional breakdown at 3am in a McDonalds drive through. A mf dream.

Reflex by hiuythn (T) 2.3k // PLEASE IF THEY DIDN’T MEET AT HS THIS WOULD BE CANON ASF. You cannot tell me you don’t think this would not be cannon asf. They would meet like this. Also poor Teuchi stuck in the middle of all of this. I haven’t watched naruto, but it doesn’t really matter. What matters is random emotional sexual bonding over something. That is important. (THE ENDING AJKFHKJ)

You're in Pink (and I'm in blue) by Hyeyu (T) 4.4k // whooooo Hanahaki whooo anyway, despite how it seems, I like the hanahaki trope. I don’t fully understand it sometimes (most of the time tbh), but it adds some nice angst and desperate confessions, and I do appreciate those :D Honestly, I really liked the way this fic panned out, and I felt really bad for Iwa LOL.

stranger things by tinypersonhotel (G) 10.2k // I really like this one :D:D:D I love Makki + Oikawa friendship and they’re really the best to each other :’) The ending was satisfying, and the PLOT omg. It was SO good. I feel like I say this a lot though LOL, but I’m just really into fics with good plot progression (or else I don’t read them OOPS).

something of a disaster by latenights (T) 1.4k // chaos ahahhaha. Another crack fic? I hope no one is surprised LOL. It’s just a really short and simple, cute getting together fic with a LOT of insults LOL. I love this one in particular, “Tooru’s dinner special”.

snakes, meth labs and something like love by orphan_account (G) 3.6k // THE ROOMMATE AD PLEASE. I honestly would never think Oikawa would get a snake, but that doesn’t matter LOL. This was me indulging myself in the makki IwaOi best friends and mattsun stranger agenda but it’s a great agenda okay? It’s a good fic and there’s a microwaved fish :D

Lemonade by carriecmoney (T) 4.1k // okay once again, responsible drinking and don’t drink underage bad idea smh. But MatsuHana just making out where they want? I could see that. Yeah. Anyway, as much as public make out seshes make me *gag* feel embarrassed, what made me feel more *gag* embarrassed was the fact that the girls? just? stood? there? Like why are you watching this. Is that just me? I feel like they should’ve left smh.

surprise, surprise by airblends (T) 7.6k // some more pining and dancing around the issue whoooo. As much as I hate them not getting to the point (almost as much as I hate misunderstandings), it was a great fic. This is nosebleed c*ck block (idk if I needed to censor that but I did fight me).

A God for Every Season by timkons (T) 18.4k // I love the Hades and Persephone trope! Okay, I just love mythology leave me be, but anyway I really love a lot of this fic. Like how Mattsun thinks it’s a little brighter with Makki? CUTE I LOVE. But also, the fish funeral is ridiculous but also very on brand for Oikawa. And some BokuKuroo (idk is that their ship) in here as well :DDD

The Best/Worst Places to Cry in the City by AngryKitten (T) 4.4k // literally it is the title. Just you know, looking for the best place to cry in the city,,,, I’d like to say, don’t cat call people cause we’re not about that here. Even if it worked out for them, just don’t do it :/ Also don’t follow strangers. I feel like that’s a given but jic ya know?

this isn't exactly how i thought i'd be spending my adult years by jadedpearl (NR) 7.5k // okay petty Makki is yes and so is my Makki + IwaOi agenda LOL. (I’m thriving here can’t you tell? Yes regular skype/phone calls constantly) Anyway, blackouts and sickness really be here getting people together. (I’m asking nicely, nike.) And Makki is smooth with his words. (SHORTER MEN MADE ME LAUGH)

chocolate by tellalie (T) 3.6k // the dedication in this fic was amazing. Like making a whole a cake? Someone go do that for me. (For mankind.) Fake dating is really something else, but fake dating to out gag your best friends? Seems like I need to step up my game (but no seriously, my best friends are PDA monsters I hate it here). Also practice confessions are wack.

FINALLY I MADE IT. You don’t know how many times I almost gave up on finishing LMFAO. Is this my longest list? Idk. But I just know that I would’ve finished faster if I didn’t end up rereading almost every fic on this list LMFAO. Like no seriously I almost had to make a post saying this wouldn’t be coming out cause I got distracted by one of the longer fics (I’m blaming Mirror Flower, Water Moon specifically). But I hope you enjoyed this, and once again go thank that anon for spurring me into finishing this list LMFAO (am I a horse? Yea, probably but if one thing, I’m not sturdy).

Oh, this is a hard one. I want to try to finish all my fics but ... OH! There's that one fic I'm collab-ing with Nerys, The Gold Puppet, but that's more or less we're lazy af because we've lost our password to our account on FFnet.

I ... actually have no idea. Do I actually have a writing strength? <mulls over that>

What are your writing weaknesses?

Procrastination. And I worry too much about things like if the work is good enough and so on and so forth.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I usually don't do it, unless it's a phrase that has been used so much that most people can get what it means. It's easy enough for me to write (and for readers to read) something along the lines of:

"He said something in French, though she wasn't certain what it meant."

Or

His voice rang out over the crowd, in surprisingly fluent Italian, "From now on, this village will be under my control."

Harry Potter. I think. Maybe.

What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Oh, this is a hard one. My favorite fic is probably A Tangle of Webs, a fic I'd written for Nerys and Lady Miya's birthday. Even though the ending felt more like an ending for a mini-arc rather than a major one.

Fandoms: In terms of posted fics, mainly Rogue One and Star Wars (OT). I have at least one fic posted in A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, Community, and Howl’s Moving Castle (book). But I also like The Clone Wars and Rebels. I’ve been reading mainly ATLA fic for the past couple weeks. 

Where you post: AO3 and sometimes here on tumblr. There are a few drabbles I’ve posted on tumblr that I really ought to crosspost on AO3 for posterity. 

Most popular one-shot: “In Which Sophie is Late, and Howl Noses Around in Her Business” (Howl’s Moving Castle) With 698 kudos. Uh. Wow. I was not expecting that! It’s literally my only HMC fic (although I do technically have other unfinished drafts) and it’s not even a year old, and surpassed my second most popular one-shot which was posted in 2015. Pregnancy trope is popular I guess. It is amusing to me that my most popular one-shot is not in my favorite OTP fandom (rebelcaptain). Howl’s Moving Castle ended up having a wider audience than I anticipated. 

Also as a disclaimer, but popularity is weird to gauge because do you go by hits or kudos or comments? I went with kudos because hits could count people who clicked on my story and then didn’t like it. But it’s hard because hits also include re-reads, so, idk. 

Most popular multi-chapter fic: “The Last Stark” (A Song of Ice and Fire) 815 kudos. This was finished in 2013 so it’s had plenty of time to accumulate the kudos. It’s a Gendrya Anastasia AU (“Aryastasia” was my working title for this one lol). So again, popular trope, in a popular fandom, in a popular ship. This fic is so old when I reread it, I usually find myself wanting to edit it, especially the ending. I was so ready to be done writing this that I think I rushed the ending. Oh well, writing plots is really difficult!

Fic you were nervous to post: Every fic? lol. I’m never not nervous to post a fic. But I’m definitely more nervous posting in a fandom for the first time. So posting “Whatever I Do (I Do It To Protect You)” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain) was pretty nervewracking, especially since it’d been awhile since I posted anything. [OOOH, fun fact, but WID celebrated it’s 4 year anniversary yesterday! Ha, that’s funny.] I was working on this fic for weeks before I posted it. 

I was also super nervous to post my Jeff/Annie Community soulmate AU, “Intro to Neurochemical Compatibility” because (a) first time posting in that fandom, (b) I decided to use script format which I know is not everyone’s jam, and (c) the premise is just so ridiculous! But I had fun with it. 

Also gift exchanges are always nerve-wracking because I worry the giftee won’t like it. My giftee never responded to my 2020 rebelcaptain secret santa fic so I’m actually constantly worrying that they didn’t like it and feeling bad that I failed them. :/ 

How you choose your titles: with so much agonizing. gosh it’s so hard and honestly i have so many titles that i hate. I’ve got a couple song lyric titles. a couple quotes. a couple “how to...” apparently that was a whole phase I went through. Either the titles come to me immediately, or I put off choosing a title until the absolutely moment I need to post it, and then spend hours agonizing over a quote/song lyric/phrase that fits and probably begging others for help.

Do you outline: YES. Possibly overly so. I’ve ran into issues in the past, when I was much younger, where I didn’t resolve problems proposed early in the story. So I need to know where the story is going in order to lay the proper groundwork. Also, if I do not write things down I forget them five minutes later. I also think outlining is a useful trick to jumpstart writing, so if the muse just isn’t present, I’ll try to lure her out by outlining. 

Complete: 19 fics. 

In progress: Oh boy this is so hard to count. As far as what’s posted? Technically only one: “How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain). Despite the fact that I think the deadline was extended multiple time, I procrastinated and ended up rushing chapter one to meet the rebelcaptain rom-com challenge deadline. Didn’t really have a proper outline for this one, even though I knew vaguely what I wanted it to be about. I wrote chapter two but I hated what I wrote so I ... I kinda abandoned it. I mean technically, I never consider a work abandoned, I always intend to get back to it. Some day when I have the inspiration I will. But this idea ended up being a challenge I didn’t feel ready for at the time, and then my interest moved on to other ideas.

I also had a longer story planned for “you must become an island (the horizon is all we have)” but only posted one part of it to finish it on time. Ideally this fic would be part of a series, but again, motivation is needed so we’ll see

Technically I have 22 rebelcaptain ideas alone (including some listed in this post) at various states of completed, plus a handful of Community and HMC ideas. Of the ones I’m most interested in, there’s probably about 14 that I really hope to finish and post some day. 

ETA: omg i totally forgot that i was idly considering trying to finish my rebelcaptain soulmate AU in time for Valentine’s Day, but at this point I haven’t had any motivation to write so I don’t think that’s gonna happen. that fic has been sitting in my drafts since 2018 and in my drafts it will continue to sit.

Do you accept prompts: Wellllll here’s the thing. When I’ve asked for prompts, I haven’t been the best at fulfilling them in a timely manner. For that reason, I don’t encourage prompts but I’m not opposed to them. (I suppose technically exchange fics are prompts, and I wrote a bunch of fics in 2017 for rebelcaptainprompts, but I’m not gonna count those because I don’t think that’s what the question here is really going for)

“The Climb (A Lie, A Hero)” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain) was actually a prompt. 

I solicited prompts for my birthday in 2019, which I didn’t end up fulfilling until exactly one year later. 

Technically the You’ve Got Mail AU is a prompt, someone prompted me to write a fic for my favorite go-to comfort movie.

And, uh, the certain someone who tagged me for this meme prompted me in a comment back in October 2017 to do a Luke and Leia swap where Leia grows up on Tatooine, so that is sitting in my WIP list.

fic writer challenge

i was tagged by @inyoursheets (tyy <3) to list my 4 fave fics i’ve written and i wasn’t gonna do it because i only have 5 and then she said to just order the 5 and i decided not to because it’s a lot of work but i’m procrastinating rn, so i’m gonna do it after all!! :) isn’t this exciting? lolol

5. little league (never felt so sweet). beth and rio meet after little league practice au. this is my best liked fic in the fandom, and i’m happy people seem to enjoy it, but i just... i am not of the same opinion lolol

i mean, i like it, but i think i was too fixated on what i wanted them to say when i came up with it and i kind of ignored that maybe what i wanted them to say was not that good and that the conversation ended up sounding super awkward. i am still really happy with the idea of having the receptionist have a crush on beth, but i don’t think i emphasised it enough for someone that wasn’t me to notice it and that ultimately the focus i put on that conversation just took away from beth x rio time. so, yeah...

4. everything you love will burn up in the light. vampire au. second best liked fic. i’m sensing a pattern here lolol

i really like the idea and i have a lot of backstory in my head, so there’s a chance i’ll write another fic in this universe for next halloween if i don’t think up something else, but the execution is... not it. i came up with the idea the day before halloween and i was too focused on posting it on time for the spooky holliday instead of writing the best fic i could. i’m not as unhappy with it as i am with little league (never felt so sweet), but i think it def shows that it was rushed.

3. bleed me a river. my take on rio coming back, pre-s3. this is the first fic i wrote and it’s my least liked fic.

i get why other people don’t like it as much as me. i think my weird purple prose with its repetition and weird metaphors is at it’s peak here and i get why people don’t like that. but i do really love some of the lines in this fic (like, i am still in love with the way i described the imagery in beth’s nightmares. sorry to people that can actually like analyse writing and disagree with me, but i don’t care) and, unlike the other two, i don’t think it’s rushed. like, i could do better, but i really think i did my best at the time and there’s honestly not that much i’d change now. i just like it lolol

2. the bittersweet salt cracks my heart. my pg-13 take on hate sex post-s3. tied for least liked with bleed me a river, but it’s also newer so i think it’ll surpass it eventually haha

ok so i get that it’s hypocritical of me to like this one better than everything you love will burn up in the light when this one was also written in just one day and it’s shorter, but i think the difference is that i got what i wanted out of this fic. yeah, it’s short. yeah, i’m sure it could be improved. but i wrote what i wanted and i’m not really ever going back and thinking of what could’ve been with this one, i’ve just accepted that it is what it is and i’m happy with that. plus, i think that line about rio being clumsy for once is funny lolol

1. A Heart’s A Heavy Burden. howl’s moving castle au. it sits right at the middle, in terms of kudos. i get that such a specific au isn’t everybody’s cup of tea haha plus it’s a wip with only 1 chapter and i completely get not wanting to get into that lolol

i both like and dislike this fic the most. i’m really happy with the first chapter (that’s a lie, i hate how abruptly i ended it lolol), but i wrote it in this weirdly formal english because that’s how it came to me and i’m having a hard time trying to keep that up in chapter 2 :(( very excited to actually write the whole thing though, i figured out the whole outline before i even started chapter 1 and just yes there are some things ahead i’m very excited to write haha i think if i hadn’t done the outline beforehand though this would be hell lolol

1. ZoNa. Romance... with a hint of suggestiveness and a dash of nsfw.

2. The first one-shot in the Treading Uncharted Waters collection. It was NSFW, smut. Something I haven't tried to write ever since I started fanfiction writing. It was then I realized that: "Boy this stuff is HARD!" My respect for the authors who are able to write it flawlessly tripled, even quadrupled!

3. The Whimsical Kisses scribbles. It's like chose one prompt and there all done!

4.  The Importance of Not Being Nosy and Behind Closed Doors from the Little Bits and Pieces of Heaven collection. I've enjoyed everything from it. Thinking of scenes, writing the scenes, the way the story just flowed out. It turned out to be really a fun piece.

5. Hop around. Most of the times, the scenes will just come to me at random. From that one scene, I work around to complete the whole story framework. Very rare it happens that the scene would be the actual start... if it does, I still hop around.

6. Yeah. For another fandom. It was the first story I've ever written and I honestly didn't like the way it turned out, planned to fix it and forgot all about it.

7. To just keep writing, regardless.

8. So far... none that I can remember?

9. No. I haven't done that yet.

10. So far the official count is 34. Not including those that are in my phone notes or wasn't officially titled "draft #".

11. Every single one of them. I can't choose really. I wrote them with everything I've got. Be it a scribble, drabble, a vignette or a one-shot.

12. I Don't Dance & Sweet Dreams by Anonymous Being and Mystery Pants by AshaRose. Everything I want in ZoNa is there. I can read them over and over again and still feel what I felt when I first read them.

13. There's this one review I've received this year that was really thoughtfully written. And I appreciate it so much. It made me feel really good that I still kept writing for my ship. I didn't know how much my stories can affect other shippers especially since my OTP is not one of the popular ones in the fandom. It gave me the drive to continue writing.

14. I wouldn't call it worst... though I'd give points for that reviewer for speaking his/her mind. To be honest, I don't really care what he/she thinks, I have writing style preferences and if it the style proves to be a bit uncomfortable for you... you're welcome not to read it.

Funny thing, the reviewer does not even ship my OTP.

15. Uhm... I don't think I want to touch that. I sincerely believe that each writer have their own take on their stories and I'm afraid if I try to write a a prequel or sequel, I might end up sullying their story. Hahaha!

26. Writer's block. And drained enthusiasm. Both gets you stuck in a place that's really hard to get out. And eventually leads to procrastination and forgotten WIPs that just keeps piling up.  

27. The sudden, random idea that pops inside your head, making you jot it down the nearest available, writable surface.

28. When it's done and up in your blog or page. You get to stare at its entirety while thinking: "Damn I can't believe I finished this! I can't believe I wrote this!".

29. It's a fantasy fic. My OTP is a witch and a man cursed to become a familiar who met accidentally and ventured on a random adventure together, helping people and unwitttingly causing mayhem every where they go until they eventually end up in a kingdom where the familiar came from. The kingdom was in an uproar because one of their nobles who was supposed to marry another from a neighboring country, had disappeared three nights before his wedding day.

That's all I'm willing to share. Hahaha!

I keep promising to attempt to return to regular posting and then not really doing it, don't I? XP Well, hopefully this time I mean it. I do want to. And whether you guys can tell or not, I have made some behind-the-scenes strides towards being able to. One of the things pushing me this time though is I'm mad at myself that I neglected to post really anything substantial in March, which is going to mess up how I end up filling out this year's Art Summary in December/January time. That probably sounds like a silly thing to be worried about, but...I don't know. I like having at least one thing to show per month that shows what I did during the year. It's like a super-extended checklist of, "Yeah, I did something that month!" Anyway. I thought maybe posting something like this--A bit more than my usual WIP Wednesday of empty promises--would help hold me more accountable...and now you can also see I'm not kidding when I say I have a backlog of stuff I haven't posted yet. XD Some of my be familiar, some of it I've mentioned once or twice before, some of it is totally new to you guys...and some of it was technically "backlog" even before my unintentional off-again on-again hiatus. But I've blurred the names since some of the titles aren't finalized and a few I'd like to keep as a tiny bit of a surprise. ;) As for the WIP Side, technically most of what you see is also backlog now, but it hasn't been scanned in yet, so I'm withholding "backlog" status until then. Still, you can see I have finally finished the Art Snacks piece I've shown actually WIPs for twice now, a funny little cat drawing I've said nothing about, the PRINTED PROOF FOR THE NAPOWRIMO BOOK! :D, and underneath all that is the planner I set up to...help me keep track while playing catch in Animal Crossing. Yes, part of my absence initially included not playing AC:NH since mid-November, and then more recently was because of me trying to catch up in-game between when I stopped playing and the present day. Now, the NaPo Book is probably the most exciting thing for obvious reasons. And while I don't want to drag out the details too much here (I fully intend on doing a separate post about that), I will say that I now understand A. Why there's usually a whole team of people behind making a book and not just one person; and B. Why we order proof copies before putting the thing up for sale. Because somehow a handful of mistakes made it past me and at least three other people I had look at the book before ordering the proof. XP   Something also kind of exciting is I do have a small assortment of supplies that I'm almost done swatching (which yes I have totally been procrastinating on) and will then need testing, which means viable excuses to make yet more art to add to the pile!   Of course, then the problem becomes getting myself to sit down and write out all the descriptions for said art. I know technically I don't have to, but I like having that written record of what I did most of the time--because I do revisit my old descriptions sometimes to replicate the process for a new piece--and I personally don't like how some artists make these big elaborate pieces and then have nothing to say about how they made it other than how long it took. To me, there's something humanizing about explaining the process, so to just skip it altogether would just feel wrong to me. Although considering how not wanting to physically put in the effort to do that has held me back, I may experiment with not going into quite as much detail or otherwise trying to streamline my process a bit. (And admittedly some pieces have been in my backlog so long I don't fully remember all the details...which is exactly why I try very hard to get the descriptions done sooner rather than later.) And you know, in some ways it may look or feel like I'm constantly playing catch-up in one way or another, but I've realized that when I really get in the mood to sit down and dedicate time to something, sometimes I actually like having a looming pile staring at me. Part of the reason I hadn't played AC in so long was I was a bit burnout and kinda bored with it, but having so much to do to catch up really reignited that fire in me. The game felt like it had purpose again. While we're on realizations, I probably don't have to tell a lot of you that I'm still in the camp that a lot of my life and my mental health is just better and more enjoyable when social media is not in it. Extra so for Twitter, in particular. Do you know how much nicer it is to only have to check my very small list of "favorites" to see what they're up to, which takes about 5, maybe 10 minutes at a time, and not feel like I owe it to any of them to interact with their tweets? [Because most of them are too big to even notice me anyway, but I digress] That is SO much better than the endless home feed scrolling of hundreds of people, lots of whom I don't even follow they just show up because people I follow, follow them (which I want to turn all the way off so badly but I can't because that's not how Twitter works) and half of which is content I. Could Not. Possibly. Care less about.   I like Twitter for news on content creators that can't easily post a small status update to Youtube or whatever. I DO NOT like Twitter for Social Media. AT ALL. Seriously. I opened myself up to posting pictures of my cats over there, and it's STILL not enough to keep me posting and engaging regularly. That's how bad it is. Ahem. My little rant aside, I have thus decided since the Twitter Game™ does more harm than good to me, in general I'm just not going to play it anymore. I'll post my art over there and other stuff when I feel like it, but otherwise, I'm just captial-D Done With It until further notice. It's just better that way. Speaking of games, you may all be surprised to know I've been chipping away at a little video project [about a game] while all this has been going on, too. The NaPo Book comes first, but I'm hoping to have some serious headway on the video done, if not have it finished, by mid-June/July. I've mostly been bouncing around various software trying to find one that can do everything I need on a budget of exactly $0, and the good news is I think I've finally landed on one...which I'll spare you the details of for now. Once the video is closer to being a reality, then we'll delve more into that. So...yeah, that's what's been cooking in the metaphorical Mystic Kitchen. And I tell you guys all of this to 1. Hopefully be the first of that "regular posting" I want to do (still looking at once a week, which I've said probably 500 times before now), and 2. Putting it out there, as I alluded to before, will hopefully be like me signing a contract with myself. "You said you were going to do the thing, so do it." Yeah. Silence is too distracting.

Tell Me How You Feel

A/N: I made this especially for the discord WIP exchange and just recently I decided to post it. Tell me how you feel was originally a really angst story about how much they fought as a married couple due to her constant absences at home to be at work, and how Boruto couldn’t quite describe that he was feeling left out. Hope you like my fluffy one shot, though. God, I need to stop writing fluff. I was listening to “Mad World” while writing it but there’s nothing in common, I just love Donnie Darko. Anyway… It was not beta read so, sorry any mistakes. It’s just fluff to make us get through life.

“I’m waiting.”

“Waiting for what?”

Sarada turned herself completely to face her stupid friend. He was acting like he had no idea of what she was talking about and that pissed her off even more than she already was. “You know what, you’re not that stupid.”

“Have it ever crossed your mind that I might be that stupid?” Boruto didn’t even bother enough to open his eyes to look back at her. He was lying on the grass with his hands behind his head, only feeling the wind caress his face and making his hair dance in annoying but surprisingly funny ways. Sarada was beside him, sitting with her arms crossed and a mad look in her eyes that if Boruto was attentive to her movements he would know that his life was in danger. But he didn’t care. Not today. Not when he finally had some time alone and with her, despite her constant complains towards basically everything.

“I know you’re not that stupid, Boruto.” He opened his mouth to say something but Sarada cut him off. “And I know you better than yourself, don’t try to argue.”

“That’s not even possible.”

“Try me.”

He sighed and decided to open his eyes. His gaze found hers in an instant and he knew exactly what she wanted by only one look. “Okay, what is up?”

“Something happened with you since the last mission.” She stared inside his blue eyes while talking.

“You happened. I cannot even have a pleasurable afternoon without your constant questions and worries. I’m fine. You should just lie down at once.”

“You’re a liar.”

“No, I’m not.”

“Except that, I know you are.”

He broke eye contact. “I’m not lying to you, I’m not that stupid.”

“I know you aren’t.” She said with a smirk. Her tone was calmer and sweater when she spoke again, her body no longer tense. She knew she just had to ask him in the right way and he would spit anything she wanted. “Now tell me what happened and we can just enjoy the afternoon doing nothing as you want.”

He closed his eyes again and smirked. “I’m not telling you anything.”

“I knew there was something!” She shouted, aggressively poking his arm with her index finger. “Now tell me!”

“Stop, Sarada! I can’t!” He sat up holding her hand so she stops poking.

“Why would you have some secret you can’t share with me? I’m still your best friend, right? So tell me.”

He chuckled in response. “Quit it, already. As I said, there’s nothing that you don’t know left to share. You, yourself, said that you knew me better than I did and I particularly agree with that affirmation. Therefore, if I had something to tell you would know by now.”

Sarada took a deep breath while staring at his pledging eyes looking for any sign that his words might be a lie and sadly she found none. Apparently, Boruto was being honest. “Fine, I accept the loss this time, but I’m not going to give up on that easily. You’ll hear more, just not now. I don’t wanna ruin our peace today.”

That was all Boruto needed to hear before lying on the grass and close his eyes once again, this time accompanied by an unsure Sarada. She sighed and stared at the sky for a while, fidgeting nonstop, incapable of silencing her mind not even for a bit. Boruto on the other side was completely relaxed, even more, due Sarada’s silence which he learned to admire through the years – despite admiring her voice and her ability for always being right, of course. But he knew that whenever she was in silence that meant her mind was screaming.

“Why are you so anxious about?” Boruto said opening only one eye to see her.

“I’m not… I’m just wondering, rambling too be more accurate.”

“About what? If it’s a stressful subject you can think about it any other time, just don’t do it in our free time.”

“No, it’s nothing like that. I was just wondering if… Well, I-I know a lot about you and…” She stuttered.

“And…?”

“I just wonder if you know me that well too,”  Sarada said and her words made Boruto sit up and chuckle a little while staring down at her.

“You’re kidding. Of course I know you!” He stopped for a second before continuing. “Except that… I don’t always know how you really feel about things. We’re always talking about how I feel and you always dodge when I ask about you.” Sarada closed her eyes. She was not feeling like today was her day. “It’s okay if don’t want to, I mean it.” Boruto sighed. “I’m still your best friend, right?”

Sarada smiled and even though her eyes were closed she knew Boruto was smiling too. “Okay, lay again and we can talk about my feelings then.” Boruto’s grin grew wider while he did as she requested. “You can ask questions and I’ll make my best to answer it, I promise.”

“I like this.” He started to get animated and Sarada only glared him, measuring the mistake she was committing. “First question: how much the fact your dad was never close really hurt you?”

She pondered for a moment. “Nowadays? Not much. Back then? A lot. I had nightmares about it all the time and I couldn’t talk to no one so it was scary. I didn’t forget all, you know, I still feel it. Although now I understand better his reasons and that’s enough to move on, I guess. Papa is nice to me and now I get to see him once in a while.”

“Good, it’s nice to know you’re fine with all this. You shouldn’t pay for your parents’ mistakes. Now for the next question, why do you want to be Hokage?”

“I already told you that, idiot.” Sarada giggled. “I want everyone in the village to be part of my family. I know it’s hard to get there and it’s a complicated important job but I want to do it and I’m ready to do everything that’s required for me to accomplish my dream.” She felt exposed for sharing her feelings that way but at the same time, she knew that they were safe with him.

“Well, the third question is…” Boruto turned his head to face Sarada properly before completing his sentence. “Do you like someone? I mean, boyfriend like.”

Sarada blushed immediately “I’m not answering it. Next question.”

He couldn’t deny his heart was pounding inside his chest. That was the question he really wanted to know the answer but she decided not to give it. “Come on, Sarada! That’s the dumbest one of the questions I made. Please answer!”

“It’s not of your business. And why do you wanna know anyway?”

“Fine.” His gaze switched to the sky.

“There are no more questions?” Sarada frowned her brows and glared him.

“No, you’re not answering the ones I make so what’s the point?” Boruto shouted.

“Okay, fine by me.”

“Fine.”

“Idiot.” They fell in silence. And for a while, all they heard was the sweet sound of the trees being shaken by the wind. Although in her heart Sarada knew that if now wasn’t the best time to share her feelings, then it would be hard to find such a perfect moment again. “I do like someone. Boyfriend like.”  She spoke really low, almost like a whisper, but she knew he managed to hear given to his sudden motion.

Both were blushing hard but avoiding look at each other therefore he didn’t look at her when he spoke again. “See? It didn’t hurt. Who is him, by the way?”

“It doesn’t matter, really. He is an idiot. I give all those signs that I like him and I care for him, I even share personal thoughts with him, but he doesn’t notice it.” The next words were even lower. “I know he’s an idiot, but he’s my idiot.”

Their heartbeats could be easily heard at this point, their confused and loud breaths demonstrate how important this moment was for them and they knew it. Boruto was thinking hard about how not to mess up like he usually does. He always thought he would be the one confessing first, he always thought she would deny him and that would be the end of their bond, he always thought he should wait more and more and more and right now he was at the point where he was procrastinating the confession. But life intervened his planning and she confessed first. Sarada, on the other hand, was as calm as she could be, knowing that he was only taking his time to process things. She didn’t mind, to be honest. Telling her feelings, her truth and secret feelings, felt like a realization and she also could use the time to be proud of herself for the courage.

“You still wanna know what happened and I couldn’t tell you before?” Boruto broke the silence.

“Yes.” She turned to him.

“You happened.” He sighed. “You’ve been happening in my life every day for years now and I don’t know what to do anymore.”

Sarada laughed and she didn’t even know why. It was just so good hearing his words that she needed to laugh. Soon Boruto started laughing together and they did it for a long time and for no specific reason besides true happiness.

“Something really happened, then? I knew you were lying.” Sarada stated. Boruto stretched his arm to hold her hand. Sarada didn’t fight – she wanted it too.

“Shut up.” And again the air was filled with their laugh.

alright, i’ve done enough pussyfooting around on my part. i’ve been putting off writing this for a while now but i think it’s time.

i found cow chop during a very hard portion of my life. it was my sophomore year in high school and i was incredibly depressed. when i went to rtx 2016 that year my friend was obsessed with cow chop. i had vaugely heard about them when they joined rt; i watched their lube video and wasn’t too impressed. but for some reason later that year, during winter break, i was bored enough to start watching their videos. i started with the heavy rain lp.

i fell in love.

i was lucky enough to meet aleks, james, brett, trevor, and joe at rtx 2017. at rtx 2018, i met jakob, alec, asher, lindsey, and matt. meeting them in person was a huge culmination of the love i had for cow chop.

however things now are different.

even before the ip drama i was on the fence with cow chop. trevor leaving was a huge blow for me, as he was my absolute favorite. but i still stayed a fan because i loved the content and members so much.

over the course of then and now, i heard some things that made me lose faith in cow chop and some of its members. i stayed on though cus they were such a huge part of my life, i couldn’t let that go.

but after the issue with ip and the aftermath, i realized i could no longer support cow chop. our morals just don’t align and i can’t overlook some of the things they’ve said and done. some of the fans may be stronger than i and can still stay a fan, all the respect to u. but i just can’t, this incident was the final nail in the coffin for me.

so i’ve been wanting to write this for a while but i’ve been procrastinating because for some reason i feel like i’m letting people down. i know most don’t care either way what i do and my feelings but i think i’m writing this mostly for myself.

when i got the notif that james is leaving, that gave me enough motivation to finally leave the cow chop fandom.

i made this blog after rtx 2018, after spending so much time with the cc community i wanted to keep that same feeling. i’m so grateful for all the friends i made. my content was never really that good on this blog, it was just dumb stream clips, but people liked them and i so appreciate that.

i don’t regret watching cow chop or being a stan, they meant a whole lot to me. everyday when i would come home from school utterly depressed, i would have a new cc video in my sub box to watch. they kept me going. i will never forget that, even though i know longer support them.

but today i am rebranding. i’ll get myself a username (still gonna save cowboialeks for the nostalgia) and i’m turning this blog into a general one. ya know just random shit i like or find funny. i will no longer be posting cc stuff, but i won’t delete any of the old cc posts on here. i will also be unfollowing blogs that only post cc content. if u wish to unfollow me as well i understand, thank u for even following in the first place.

1. Are you named after anyone?

i think my parents chose katherine just bc they liked it, but my middle name is actually my mom’s maiden name!! my brother, sister, and i all have the same middle name which i actually quite like.

2. When was the last time you cried?

i think new year’s eve?? these past few months have not been the best so i cry pretty often and pretty easily, but 2019 has been kind to me:)

3. Do you have/want kids?

well i’m a little young to have kids right now (i’d rather not be a mom and a high school student, thank you very much), but i definitely want some in the future! i’ve always imagined myself with a big family someday, so if my body can handle it i’d want at least four.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

honestly? not really, unless i make it really obvious that i’m joking. it just isn’t a big part of my humor, even if i think it’s really funny when people use it right/in a way that doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

i usually notice how they treat other people/how other people treat them?? like if i meet someone and it’s obvious the people around them like them, then i automatically have a higher opinion of them. then again, if everyone obviously dislike the person, i’m going to take that into consideration. in the end, though, i try to form my own opinions on people regardless of how other people feel about them.

i HATE scary movies with a passion (i watched fifteen minutes of It and cried) so definitely happy endings lol

not a sport, but i’m in marching band!! i used to call it a sport until my own section made fun of me at band came lmao

just about 5′3

14. Favourite subject in school?

english for sure!! not only bc of my love for writing, but i’ve also been really lucky with english teachers for the past few years. three years ago, my ninth grade lit teacher actually inspired my current wip by forcing us to come up with characters, hence lark and eli were born.

15. Dream job?

an author of course, but i’ve been thinking recently that i might want to teach? probably elementary school bc kids make me laugh and i think that sort of job would make me really happy:)

I’ve been tagged by @sometimes-writing

1. Do you use paper and pen, a computer, or a combination?

I kind of use a combination. I usually write my outlines, rough drafts, and extra scenes with paper and pen. If I go beyond the first draft, I do it on a computer. Also, if I post it, I obviously do that on a computer.

2. Do you have any OCs you want to build on? Why?

I don’t have any OCs I want to build on. The answer to question 6 will explain this.

3. What type of character is your favorite to read?

My favorite type of character to read is the one who can make you laugh during a serious scene, whether they’re trying to be funny or not.

4. What is the hardest type of character to write?

The hardest type of character for me to write are ones with a lot of friends. When I say this, I mean that they don’t just hang out with their circle of 5 (give or take a few) friends. As a contemporary writer,  it’s hard for me to remember to accommodate time to all of their friends as one would in real life.

5. Do you have any OCs that you want to kill off? Why?

I don’t have any OCs that I want to kill off because they’re my friends lol. That and the fact that they’re mostly teenagers.

6. How do you create OCs? Based off a person? Random thoughts?

Usually, I think of characters before I think of a story. My characters already come to me, fully developed, so I don’t necessarily “create” them, but they’re not base off of anything. I write them down so other people can see who my characters are, but all of my characters are safe in my head. I don’t know what I would do if I had to sit there and decide every little detail about my characters. I’m so sorry for you guys.

7. Do you have any rituals you go through before writing?

Not really, unless you count procrastinating.

8. Do you have a drink with you when settling down? If so, what is it?

Yes, a bottle of water. I go through at least 9 of those bad boys a day.

9. What AUs do you have going? Are they only going in your head, or are any of them written?

I’m still working on my WIP, Hey Di: Freshman Freakout. I have another idea, but it hasn’t gone anywhere besides the few ideas I have in my head.

10. What character of yours is the most fun to write?

She doesn’t have a story as of right now, but I have a character named Jade that I really enjoy writing. I love how she doesn’t care how people think and just does what she wants to do. I had a story for her in 8th grade, but I don’t like the story anymore, so I trashed the book and am still trying to find a reason to write her again (even if she’s just a side character).

How do you make your blog known and successful, like what type of posts get the most attention and stuff because I want to get my blog known for the reasons of making my stories and random posts more well known. I just want people to notice my works because that’s what fuels me otherwise I just leave it and procrastinate. Thanks in advance 😊.

Oh, the fame recipe. I’m not the best person to ask since my blog isn’t widely known nor the biggest hit on the stage to use the words of NCT. I stay in the femdom niche that’s true to me even if it means few recognition unless my Namjoon memes go viral out of nowhere again. The story trumps the attention, I write for the cause which is the opposite of your goal. All I observed is: If all you want is blow up, stories are not the sure-fire way — gif makers are the ones getting thousands of notes instead with plenty of reblogs so it really goes around. 

You can bring your fics to some attention via self-reblogs, regular updates, and good organisation (Masterlist!), maybe crosspost on Archive of Our Own, the audience is different and times broader. Baptized has 95 notes here and 4400 on AO3, it could be the other way around as well depending on several factors: exposure, how loved is your genre and pairing (male x male does better than x reader, as does female sub!reader), recent events in the fandom, who forwards your stuff. Networks are key. Join some, kiss asses of big writers if you wanna go the extra mile and do the circlejerk, appease, be unlike yourself, overwork with WIPs that are never finished when you don’t get the feedback (procrastination there), receive hate anons and more ass-kissers, become impersonal with readers, damage your mental health, quit sleep, overshare private life, crack and corrode to dust under the “please update and write it like this and not your way!” pressure. That’s the hard truth. 

The clout writers — whose ambition and productivity is great without a doubt! — I’ve seen are the ones doing this all while penning the most generic of styles. Which is sad, so much sacrifice should yield at least a special story. If you know my angry Writing Corner segment, they meet a lot of criteria for sub-par performance from grammar to construction to word choice and format. It’s not hard to digest, so they get “Laufkundschaft” as we say in Germany, casuals, it’s prêt-à-porter. So, as funny as it sounds: The more you look down on your readers as applause machines or undemanding and stereotypical, the better the odds you will be noticed. Low quality misogyny fics with overused & shady smut tropes — try fuckboys, serial killers, mafias, and other atrocities — ironically take the crown. If you can mold yourself into this, you will self-destruct but get reblogs. It’s either or. This is a cautionary tale that I’ve also had to ponder in earnestness, decide well and take care of yourself.

JATHAN

Jathan is Alya’s cousin and Adira’s son. He’s a little younger than Alya: 14 when we meet him. 

He isn't always easy to get along with. But who knows how much of that is his actual personality, and how much is just teen angst™? Living in the shadow of his mother hasn't been easy—even if he is pretty talented, it's never seemed to be enough. Managing complex social situations has never come naturally to him, but he seems to keep being forced into them anyway. With peers he's comfortabe with, however, he can be quite funny and charismatic. If you barely know him, he seems pretty shy. If you kinda know him, he seems really cool. And if you really know him, you know him for what he is: a disaster.
