I think I’ve finally mastered gouache!?
#at least the painting skin part#I’ve spend like six hours today on a portrait for my friend#but it turned out so freaking cool#there’s and open mouth with teeth even#I did the sketch last week and was having a bad art day so I stopped#then when I picked it up today I actually hardly had to fix any proportions at all#but I think my mantra for the skin really is#1) if I think it’s light enough add more white#2) if I think it’s about the right hue add more red to tone down the yellow#at least for this one that helped a lot#I’m looking forward to giving it to her so much now#it’s lee dong wool from that scene with the oil in bad and crazy#so it’s not like her other birthday drawings that are like nice to have hanging on your wall#bc he looks deranged#but I’m also really proud I managed to capture that#ahh very nice#haven’t painted in forever so now my elbow hurts?? and my wrist kinda but that’s not surprising#I’m playing volley tmr so that’ll be fun I’m sure#me
