What is the timeline with the pogues friendship lol? John B says him and JJ have been friends since 3rd grade. In season 2 kie says they’ve all been friends since kindergarten. Season 3 she says she was miserable before being friends with them, which makes me think she’s referring to her kook year? But they were friends before that? She wasn’t miserable without them as a 5 year old lol. Idk it’s confusing

Yeah… it’s been wildly inconsistent and it drives me bonkers. There is also the comment from jj in episode one (super hot hippie chick slumming with us) that gives newer friendship vibes, but I totally ignore that because everything about them gives best friends since middle school at minimum. Plus, it makes no sense for them to be hurt by her kook year if they haven’t been lifelong friends.

Personally my headcanon I generally accept is JJ and JB became best friends in third grade. Kie and Pope joined when they were a smidge older, like 10 or 11. And headcanon is all we’ve got because canon has been all over the place with the hints it’s dropped; personally I think the vibes and feel of the group are way more important than a few throwaway lines that contradict each other though.

I think it makes sense if Mike and Anna became significantly more worried about the boys and Kie once she returned to them after her kook year. High school leaves a lot more opportunities for things they don’t want her to get up to, aka getting pregnant like they did.
