The Bloodfeather Pirates are 'cornered' in a tight quarry by a member of one of the marine's giant unit. Drawing on his experience from when he had to fight giants in the Sinner's Arena, Dragon knows full-well that speed is not their strong suit. Separating them from their weapon should be easy enough, and then it's just a matter of getting them to the ground.
Lucci asks his captain what the next step is after that and the grin he gets when Dragon says they have to stab the giant in the eyes.
Or The Bloodfeather Pirates re-enact Polyphemus except nobody gets clubbed and the cyclops is the one getting devoured.
Giants were a rare treat to the audience of the Sinner’s Arena. They always, ALWAYS meant for an entertaining match.
When Dragon was still fighting in the pit, his status as a zoan was as of then still hidden to him. Truthfully that was for the best, as the patrons would have demanded more and more from him and would have driven him to death quicker than they already were.
The dominion over the wind gave him the edge he needed to defeat the giants he faced. He recalls the far away memories of his father, and the stories he would tell of some skilled Marines who could walk on the air… well his innate knowledge of the wind gave him all the insight he needed to recreate this strange power. Without having to use his devil fruit.
Made getting to his opponent’s eyes much easier.
It also made his escape easier to do, but the role it played in all of that was rather small compared to that strange storm with the red and black lightning…
Took him many a year to learn what THAT was…
