We’re Gonna Get Along Great . Jungkook

topic: jin’s little sister; lake house trip

genre: so much fluff

word count: 3,528

author’s note: I felt the need to have a Jungkook au next but it ended up being so much longer than I thought it would be. I almost made this into a series, but then each part would be two short. so enjoy a long Jungkook bullet au.

Your big brother Seolkjin just had his second child and this is the first time you (along with the members) will see her at a lake house for three weeks or longer

(Also your first time meeting the members)

From the pictures you’ve seen, Kim An Cha is the prettiest, cutest little baby you’ve seen (don’t tell her sister)

Anyway, when you finally get to Jin’s lake house, it’s so quiet that it’s freaking you out because your brother always told you that you could hear the members two miles away at all time

Especially Hoseok’s screaming

Turns out, An Cha was asleep and Jin’s wife threatened to not let Jin cook for the members if An Cha was woken up because it took her three hours to put her down

So you walk into their house—arms full of gifts for your nieces and everyone, which you struggled to climb up the flight of stairs with—to find five boys sitting on the couch impatiently as Jin was upstairs waking An Cha up from her nap

Namjoon and Jimin, who are the first ones to spot you—immediately get up to greet you, & Jimin takes all your bags from you with his little mochi smile

Namjoon politely shakes your hand & Hoseok gets up to give you a hug because you’re his best friend’s little sister so that means you’re close enough to hug

But you don’t care cause he’s so welcoming

Taehyung and Yoongi get up from the couch; Yoongi gives you a wave and Taehyung gives that boxy smile of his

You ask where Jin’s wife is (let’s say her name is Eun Ha) and Taehyung tells you that’s she’s outside setting up the table for lunch on the porch overlooking the lake on one side and the woods on the other

You ask where the bathroom is after you take off your shoes and place them neatly next to a pair of white and black Puma sneakers, & Yoongi tells you the way

You walk off after giving the five of them a smile

Speaking of five, wasn’t there supposed to be another one of—

That’s when your heart jumps out of your chest because when you turn the corner, you almost run into someone

Immediately you bow and say ‘jesonghamnida’ very shyly

When you look up from the person’s feet and into their eyes, you realize it’s a boy

A very handsome boy

Who seems to be your age or a bit older

His eyes are all wide like baseballs

You nod your head once as to give another mini bow and he bows back & you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom

Once you finish, you find your older brother next to Eun Ha who is now holding An Cha

You and everyone are now all allowed to talk freely since An Cha is now awake

So you are free to give your brother a hug after so long

You spot the boy you ran into among the six boys now crowding around the baby and assume that he was Jungkook—the youngest of the seven, but still older than you by a few months

The doorbell rings and you immediately offer to answer it

On the other side of the door is Hoseok, Namjoon, and Yoongi��s girlfriends who were also staying in this mansion of a lake vacation house

“I’m Namjoon’s girlfriend, are you Jungkook’s?”

*bow to hide blush* “No, no, I’m Jin’s sister.”

Once the awkward introductions are done, it’s time to eat to your pleasure

Because when you were walking alongside Yoongi to the porch, your stomach growled as loud as possible

And he laughed and just ruffled your hair and pat your stomach

And you take a seat a few seats from the end of the long table

And Jungkook seats himself across from you with a shy little smile on his face

He immediately puts his head down when you guys accidentally make eye contact

Cause he heard the whole conversation with you and Namjoon’s girlfriend

And you do the same because how can someone be so freaking charming

But then the two of you eventually get to talking

And learn that you guys are so alike: are pranksters and enjoy annoying Jin, but since the two of you are usually super shy at first, you’re completely surprised when words flow right out of your mouth and the conversation with each other comes so naturally

But while he talks, he gives you that bunny smile of his that every time you have to fight the urge to reach across and just pinch his cheeks

Later on, after dinner, because the four of you are children and because you can, you, him, Jimin, and Taehyung play some dance video games and just have the time of your lives

But you can’t help but admire the way he has so much passion in a video game and the way he looks when he’s dancing

And the twinkle in his eyes when he beats Jimin

But you miss the way he looks at you when you beat Jimin and can’t help but just giggle because of your reaction

Jin’s older daughter Soo Jin arrives from her last day of Kindergarten when her Uncle Yoongi and Uncle Taehyung pick her up

And when she sees you her eyes honestly turn into stars and she jumps into your arms

Out of the corner of his eye, Jungkook watched as you laugh and cradle Soo Jin in your arms and smooth down her hair

The others go off to do their own thing like grocery shop or hang out near the lake as you pull Soo Jin onto your lap on a seat on the porch next to Hoseok holding An Cha and the four of you watch variety shows on Yoongi’s iPad that Soo Jin managed to swipe after doing some aeygo she didn’t even have to try at

More like you and Hoseok are watching and Soo Jin is snacking on some Pepero and some Kim Bap you made her

You two decide to start on dinner and Jungkook comes running in, drenched in water with his swim trunks on and a towel wrapped around his body which was covered with a fresh white t-shirt

He plops himself down at the table after bringing Soo Jin and An Cha to their parents

As you and Hoseok roll up your sleeves, you find that Jungkook is washing his hands to help

So you set down a chopping board, knife, and vegetables down in front of him and you sit down beside him to cut up the meat

Hoseok’s at the sink making rice

“Jungkook, what are you doing to the potato?”

“I’m carving a shark”

After dinner, you, Hoseok and Jungkook are free to do anything because the three of you cooked so Hoseok goes off with his girlfriend to play with the girls, Jungkook goes off to find Yoongi, and you decide to shower and watch Kimi No Na Wa, completely unaware of Jungkook’s love for anime

You even made a version of the bracelet for yourself with a small jingle bell; you never take it off

As “Dream Lantern” starts to play on your laptop, Jungkook runs in and plops himself into the bed next to you

Literally, even though you guys have both seen this movie 9,382,836 times before you still gasp when literally anything in the movie happens

And when you guys both say “cafe?” at the same time you both freak out

He pats his heart because he can’t take how in sync the two of you were

And Eun Ha, Taehyung, and Namjoon are just standing there in the doorway watching you two like 'wth’

But then Jimin leads them away so you can continue watching in peace

When you begin clapping because you got excited, Jungkook hears the bell on your wrist and he literally grabs your arm like he was the Flash

And you’re all like ??? but then you realize this is the first time you both have any skin to skin contact with each other

But he’s so interested in the bracelet that he barely notices how red you were getting

“Woahhh, this is so cool. Did you make it?”

And you manage to nod

Then he notices what state you were in and drops your wrist because he entered that state as well

Then he so obviously avoids any contact with you because he turns his head back to the laptop and scoots over

“Hey, I can make you one if you want.“

“Really?“

*nod* “Of course.”

“We’re gonna get along great.“

The next morning, you wake up, remembering the fact that you haven’t washed your car for around two months

Thankfully and very conveniently, the garage was stocked with soap, sponges, and towels, and you pulled the hose off the house and to where your car was

The hose wouldn’t turn on so you tried fixing the head

Obviously pointing the hose away from you so you wouldn’t get soaked if it suddenly turned on

The hose started to spray water out and up, so you quickly pointed the hose at the car

Completely unaware that before you could move the hose, the water shot through poor Jungkook’s OPEN window and sprayed him awake

There he was, dreaming about lamb skewers when suddenly everything turns into a nightmare and all he remembers hearing before waking up because of a blast of water was someone calling him ‘oppa’

He shoots up straight in his bed and crawls to the window right next to his bed to figure out what the heck just happened

And he looks down to see oblivious you, cutely struggling to pick the nozzle option

And he just smiles before he gets ready and changes his clothes, not even angry at all for disturbing his sleep

He grabs a towel for his hair before he sets off to join you outside

And when you look up from your car after you soap up one side, you see him strolling towards you, drying his wet hair

“Good morning to the girl who woke me up with a hose“

“I did?!?“ *puts sponge down and walks Jungkook*

*nods with his eyes closed and a closed-lip smile*

*eyes widen* “oh, jesonghamnida”

But before you manage to bow, Jungkook catches you by the shoulders

“You don’t have to be so formal with me and you don’t have to bow, y/n. I’m not that much older.”

And your eyes are all wide because suddenly his touch made your neck, hands, and feet all tingly

*nod* “mianhe”

*Jungkook rubs your arms* “It’s okay. I wouldn’t get to help you if that didn’t happen.”

And he simply walks over to pick up another sponge as you refuse, but the stubborn head of his ignores you

And now your heart is all tingly as well

Jungkook will do anything for someone he cares about

And even though the two of you just met

He knew he was gonna have it bad for his hyung’s baby sister

By the time you two finish, it’s 8 o’clock but still, no one is awake

But since the two of you are children, you find some ping pong ball guns in the back of Taehyung’s car in the garage

And the two of you camp out, ready to attack

“Camp out“ as in, sitting in the living room of the lakehouse watching Anohana: you and the two shooters hid under a comforter next to Jungkook’s legs with your head popping out to watch the laptop on his lap

Where the lake house is, it’s cool in the morning so you two share the blanket and each other’s body heat

Or is it just the heat from your cheeks because you and Jungkook are both aware of the lack a space between you?

That’s when you hear feet coming down the wooden steps and a chorus of ‘good mornings’ from Jimin, Namjoon and his girlfriend

He immediately covers your head when he first catches sight of them as you give Jungkook is shooter under the blanket

He subtly slides the laptop onto the coffee table and gives you an ‘on three’ tap on your arm

But you ignore it and jump up to already start shooting the three people sitting on the couch, blanket falling to both you and Jungkook’s feet after he joins you

You notice Taehyung and Jin coming down the stairs and Jungkook starts shooting at them before knowing who it was

The two of you are thanking the heavens that it wasn’t Yoongi

But you spoke too soon and you end up hitting Yoongi in the back of his head after he comes out of his room to see what the hell was happening

To your relief, he gives an ‘ok’ with his hand and walks into the kitchen and his girlfriend gives you a ‘nice one’ hand sign

A minute later, you and Jungkook had run out of ammo but no one attacks you despite the fact that they were screaming at you guys to stop because you thought they thought it was just a kind-hearted was to get to know everyone

And to get everyone to wake up

But boy were you and Jungkook wrong

Because though Jin was genuinely ecstatic that you and one of his best friends were getting along so well so far, he and eveyone had planned a way to get you too closer than you already were

Three weeks later, the tents were all being set up outside because everyone was camping out outside tonight

You had to help Taehyung out of the unset-up tent he got himself tangled in

But since there was a limited amount of tents, everyone had to share

You brother, his wife, and An-Cha were in one tent because Soo Jin insisted on sharing with you

All of the unmarried couples were in the biggest tent

Jimin and Taehyung in the two person tent after the maknae line played some rock, paper, scissors

But since there was only one tent and one person left, you and Soo Jin had to share with no other than Mr. Jeon Jungkook

what a surprise

Neither one of you knew how comfortable the two of you would be

Because both of you were unaware of your feelings for each other

(How you both fell in love with each other because of you almost identical personality and likes)

But it wasn’t that bad

UNTIL Soo Jin decided she couldn’t fall asleep if her parents weren’t in the same tent

Which was all part of her father’s plan

Yes, Jin included his five year-old daughter in his matchming plan for his sister and best friend

So after Jungkook came back from walking the little girl to the next tent as you were panicking to figure out this whole situation, the two of you silently agreed to go to sleep

But, I mean, come on…both of you knew neither of you were going to fall asleep anytime soon because you were in this small tent enclosed togeher and the lack of talking the both of you were usually comfortable in made you guys super tense

And it was killing you and your head was starting to hurt

And after the longest time of pondering whether or not you should say something…

“Jungkook.“

“Hmm?“

“I can’t sleep. My head hurts.”

“It’s okay. Hold on.“

And even though your eyes were closed, you knew that he was suddenly moving his sleeping back closer to the mattress you and Soo Jin were supposed to share

But when you opened your eyes, you saw that he was struggling so much so

“Jungkook.“

“Hmm?“

“This mattress isn’t twin-sized.“

And he nearly choked as your eyes met, both widened at the shock of what you just said

But he really wanted to help you out so he took the space you made for him the full-sized mattress and started to massage your temple after you settled and laid down with your head on his arm

And you slowly started to fall asleep to the sound of his breathing and surrounded the smell of clothes

And you woke up a little after midnight

Headache gone

Then realized what the actual heck happened before you fell asleep yesterday

And that the guy you were in love with was right next to you

But you couldn’t help but want to touch his skin, that you found yourself reaching towards his face

And as your shaking hand finally gently came in contact, you found that his skin was softer and smoother than they already looked

And you slowly stroked your thumb across the boy's face, from his cheeks, to his eyebrows, and gently over his eyes after fixing his bangs off of his forehead and finally his chin and then up

Over his lips, which makes him wake up

You start to pull your hand away, not knowing that he was awake

But he quickly grabs your hand before you have the chance

And you, super startled, have your eyes wide open

Because you were just caught in the act of admiring the guy you loved by the guy you loved

But when you think Jungkook couldn’t make your heart beat any faster and that you were about to die right then and there in his arms

he does

And he takes your hand and brings it up

And up

Closer to his mouth

The whole time looking deeply into your eyes

And places a kiss on the metacarpal part of your hand

And simply blinks as he waits for you to do something

But you don’t

Because what do you do when your crush kisses your hand

And somehow he knows that you want to do something, but you’re so lost

So he just pulls you into his chest

And you’re so shocked but you just melt into his arms

And he feels you smile into his chest as you finally relax

And fall asleep once again

The next morning, Soo Jin is the first one up

And sneaks out of her tent to go to yours

When she finds the two of you like this

And quietly she makes her way to Taehyung and Jimin’s tent

Walking them to tell what she saw

“Uncle Jimin.“

“Soo Jin, why are you already awake?“ *pulls her down next to him*

“Auntie and Uncle Kookie are gonna get married right, Uncle Jimin?“

“Where’d you get that idea, little one?“ *watches as she shakes Taehyung*

“Uncle Tae! Wake up, I need to show you something.“

When your niece finally manages to get the 95 liners up, she drags the two of them to your tent

Taehyung rubbing his eyes and Jimin shaking out his hair

When they arrived at the tent, their eyes literally widen at the sight of their little brother and you in each others arms

And they high five each other because the plan succeeded

They take Soo Jin back to their tent so they can leave Jin to find them on his own

Jin woke up, along with his wife and An Cha, walking to each of the tents to get everyone up

And when he unzips the entrance he literally runs around and hugs everyone

Because his plan worked

And now he can relax because his sister found someone he could trust

Although if either of you hurt each other, one of you was gonna get it

But as Taehyung shakes you awake, they both of you literally jump apart, finding everyone watching the two of you

You and Jungkook then look at each other, all events that had happened coming back to you

And you both simply turn a billion shades of red

But literally, everyone starts clapping and whooping because the two youngest finally got together after weeks of tension between you guys

So Jungkook and you finally get together, boyfriend and girlfriend

But literally acting like two best friends with the same interests, that you two only fight (more like bicker) about which anime to watch next

The two of you are always teasing each other and you guys become known as the kid couple, the eating couple, the Tomoya and Nagisa of real life

But you also have the sweetest little moments that you could never have with anyone else in the world.

You and Jungkook are the most innocent couple, and everyone admires the way you guys love each other
