#I’m going to have to doodle Kory’s tent at some point

I am sleeping like garbage lately so here’s some dumb Tav lore involving camp/sleeping.

Kory doesn’t start her tadpole adventure with a bedroll, let alone a tent. She’s been sleeping in wild-shape forms in the wilderness for over a decade and a half now. At best she used to have a cave she stored dried herbs in, and on truly horrifically stormy nights she would sleep in there.

(Silly side-lore: Completely unbeknownst to Kory, locals had taken to calling her stomping grounds “The Green-Eyed Woods” because people would spot animals with unnaturally green eyes there all the time. Every one of these animals was Kory. She didn’t particularly want to startle off OR interact with people in her Homewood but she also didn’t want to let them tromp around unsupervised so she’d sort of hover around them until they left. This name lasts for generations after Kory has left those woods because people trick themselves into spotting animals with strange green eyes.)

It is Lae’zel who finds this arrangement unacceptable, who chucks a bedroll at Kory and tells the Druid that she can either conjure herself a tent or buy one because “If you expect to lead, you must be rested and in peak physical condition. My people accept nothing less from someone expecting to take command.”

Kory sleeps in the bedroll under the stars more often than in the tent she puts together. Everyone is mildly surprised to find that Kory knows what an eye mask is and starts using one when she has to sleep in her humanoid form.

In Act 1, on days when Kory has a wildshape to spare when the crew is ready to bunk down, she will end the day in Owlbear form and snuggle up with the Owlbear cub and Scratch.

After Karlach’s engine gets upgraded in Act 2, Kory will absolutely use any leftover wildshapes to do a big Owlbear/Owlbear cub/Scratch/Karlach cuddle pile OR turn into other animals for Karlach to snuggle with. She’ll curl up as a cat and doze off in Karlach’s lap; she’ll do goofy little displays as a bird; things like that.

(Kory won’t transform into wolves out of respect for Shadowheart).

And of course, after that engine upgrade she and Karlach do spend an awful lot of time alternating between each others’ tents in the evenings….
