Little Update !

I updated my rules a little, because I felt like some things I consider important weren't clear / underlined enough. I also added some bolding and colours to the Rules page, to make the focal points stand out more.

It would be great if you gave the whole Google doc a read, but since I know that it's long and people are busy, here's a list of the main changes / additions:

Matching effort: I match the energy and the interest I receive. I always do my best to send in non-starter memes (OOC memes, HCs memes, etc.) when I see a mutual reblogging one. However, if the effort remains completely one-sided for weeks, I’ll stop engaging you outside the threads we have ongoing. The same goes for IC communication, plotting and carrying on a scene in threads. RPing is a two-way street, so I’d rather use my energy with people who prove to me that they want to and like interacting with me.

Drama & the likes: This blog is a drama-free space. I don’t reblog callout posts or the likes. If you do, please tag them accordingly so I can blacklist them. Same goes for vague-posting and negativity towards others. If I see you reblogging / posting this sort of thing regularly I won’t follow you / I’ll softblock you.

Also, if you think that bullying and sending death threats to people over the fictional content they engage in (no matter how “problematic” it might be) is right and just, DON’T follow or interact with me. Bullies are NOT welcome on this blog.

Interactions: I’d prefer if you were interested in at least two of my muses, to allow me to keep interacting with you even if I were to lose inspiration for one of the characters you have chosen.

Format: My default format is small text with icons and bolded dialogues. If anything about it bothers you, feel free to let me know and I’ll alter the formatting of our threads according to your needs.

Main Rules - They’re long but informative!

I am a highly selective blog. I will be very, very choosy on who I write with simply due to limited time and wanting to give my few partners better attention. I promise I’m not scary, just super busy. Anyone is welcome to approach me to ask if I would like to write with them but my intake is extremely small so if I haven't followed you back the chances are slim at this time.

I can take up to a few weeks to reply at most, but if you like quickfire same-day responses I’m not the partner for you*. I work 40+ hours a week, have personal writing hobbies, a husband and cats who don’t get nearly enough attention, and occasionally a social life. I’m also a games addict. These being the reasons for my extreme selectivity. I want to write here with a few lovely peeps but that’s all I have time to squeeze in.

With my thread tracker, I generally go round each partner in turn before going round again, but on some occasions I’ll indulge in whatever has my mood or do a bit of catch-up on older threads.

I’m over 30 years of age. My pronouns are she/her. I won’t engage in adult content with anyone under the age of 18 or, ideally, 21 depending on your country’s consent laws.

I have a main Thor for my Lokis, and one other lovely partner, however I am looking for one who will write Thorki. I have an exclusive Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel). I have an exclusive Gale Dekarios for Astarion.

Have fun and be gentle with one another. I loathe call-out culture or telling people what they can and can’t write. I am strongly anti-censorship (but do believe in tagging!). This does mean occasionally I will write topics not to everyone’s taste. If you can dig that and blacklist what you don’t fancy, I hope you’ll find me pretty easygoing. I’m open to exploring all sorts of things. If you’re just here for the fandom posts, then welcome and I hope you enjoy!

Play Style/Guidelines

I am happy role-playing in both past and present tense. Length of posts vary depending on the situation, usually a couple of paragraphs, but I sometimes have shorter ones/one-liners if a fight scene or argument is taking place or if I want to mess around with some !crack posting.

Asks are welcomed and I usually answer all of these but I reserve the right to choose not to continue one intended as a thread depending on my time/muse. If you want to be sure if I’m taking something on, please feel free to message me. If continuing a thread from an ask, I will move it to a new thread and tag you as tumblr starts to make things look weird on the blog even using the new beta. If I get a lot of asks from one person in a short space of time I may not answer them all. Similarly, if you send me something I find to be baiting, trollish, or I have no clue how to answer it, it’ll be deleted.

If I need to drop an established thread for any reason, I will usually drop by your IMs and let you know. Please respect my need to do this just as I will always accommodate if you need to stop something of mine. If you have not replied to something for more than 3-5 months and I decide I want to drop it, I will likely not contact you about it. It’s perfectly ok if it got lost so do get in contact if you’d like to pick it up again or start something new.

Please don’t be afraid to contact me about a thread if you tagged me in something and have not had a first response within a couple of weeks. It may be that Tumblr feed failed to tell me or I got overexcited about something (including that very thing) and forgot to track it.

I am not strictly ‘mutuals only’, especially as that makes it difficult for sideblogs and sometimes I may enjoy playing with a person but I’m not into a lot of what’s on their blog. Contrarily, I also sometimes follow people who I have enjoyed playing with in the past but don’t currently thread with or those whose content I enjoy but I’m not up for interaction. If you do not want me to interact with you, please fully block me. I will not ask you why. I want you to be comfortable and I can’t guarantee I’ll remember who is who if we didn’t know one another well, it’s been a while and/or you’ve changed your url or the content of your blog.

Regarding OC’s, I do play with some, however I have a strong preference for canons or canon-diverged simply because I find it easier to immerse myself in a world I know about and engage with muses with which I’m familiar. If I had more time on my hands I would love to get to know these lovely creations in more depth but I’m even more selective when it comes to them. If you have a canon muse playing with me then you get an automatic pass for my muses to meet your OC if I feel suited to them. NB: Since cutting down to very limited partners, it is very unlikely now I will write with a new OC partner unless I have got to know you via other means/you’re friends with a mutual.

NSFW (particularly adult content/smut etc.)

I do write content that is not suitable for under 18’s/under 21’s, typically of a sexual nature. Tumblr in its infinite wisdom and purity entirely hides anything tagged ‘nsfw’ so I do not use this tag as it stops my thread partners from finding our stuff at all. I now ensure that all adult content is tagged appropriately and under the mature content filters so you can filter it out. If, however, you have something more specific you’d like to avoid, I use the following tags you may blacklist:

lokisinner - in place of ‘nsfw’ on Loki's posts

filthy pirate - in place of 'nsfw' on Jack's posts

naughty memes - in place of ‘nsfw memes’

lemon - threads where a story has progressed to something fully sexual

grapefruit - threads with sex that is beyond vanilla (I arbitrarily use this)

dubcon tw - threads involving dubious consent

noncon tw - threads involving noncon/rape (rare and always discussed prior)

Shipping

Laying it down with the honesty here, I love shipping. If I’m writing with your muse, chances are I’m interested in shipping (if your muse isn’t specifically a canon friend or family member or a minor). It’s not 100% the case, but it’s a huge part of what I enjoy exploring or working towards.

A further confession I have about this is I am very visual and mun-based about what my muses are interested in. If I personally have an attraction to your muse, it’s easier for me to write them having an interest. I also prefer canon FC’s purely because it’s easier for my mind to immerse in the established canon. So, if you have an alternate FC, I’m not into your muse, or you have it in your rules that you’re not much into shipping, this may put me off following back.

That said, I will ship with chemistry worked out between us. My favourite ships are frostiron, strangefrost, bloodweave, and thorki, so I am happy to pre-establish those.

I am Thorki friendly. This ship will be tagged with ‘incest tw’ if it is a verse where they are brothers. If it’s an AU where this is not the case, I will only tag it ‘thorki’, and even then only when shipping is occurring. My #god bros tag is technically a Thorki tag in disguise. I am also Sylki and Lokicest friendly.

Triggery/Squick stuff

Things on my no list are scat kinks, Mpreg and A/B/O. I don’t mind you playing them with other people if those are your thing, they’re just not mine. I also do not like excessive/detailed gore but my only actual ‘trigger’ is something I will discuss with you if your character brings it up. It’s so specific that I won’t detail it here and it’s not your responsibility to protect me from it.

Most other things are otherwise on the cards. I will roleplay NSFW and will tag it as such when it happens. I will do dub-con if requested or non-con if there is a reason for it/we are comfortable and have discussed the situation.

On Drama

As mentioned up top, I despise call-outs and censorship. Wherever possible I desire to avoid unnecessary squawking and mob-like behaviour. If you engage in too much drama (regardless of whose fault it is) I will unfollow you and/or cease playing with you. I’m not here for it. I loathe passive aggression and vague-blogging but I understand we’re only human and allow a few slip-ups now and again, particularly as I’m liable to have been guilty of it once or twice.

If you have a problem with someone I write with, I will thank you not to associate that with me unless by my own words I’m advocating something. Until I see evidence of something with my own eyes, that is when I form my opinions. Don’t police who I write with and I won’t do so with you. Unless I genuinely believe someone is at risk of harm I will not tell anyone not to play with someone, regardless of my own experience. We all behave differently with one another and we’re allowed to grow. If you cannot accept my viewpoint on this then we are not suitable for each other.

*If you are a role-player who only writes quickfire, on-dash immediate role-play and won’t continue a thread after that day or even anything up to the next couple of weeks, we won’t be able to keep a partnership unfortunately. I am happy to answer the odd ask for fun, play a few dash commentaries here and there to spice things up, but when it comes to a serious story I can’t do them on a short-term basis. I like to take time to build up relationships and play for the long haul as best as possible. We can absolutely wind down a thread, cut one short or skip ahead, but if we’re to keep writing together I need something intended to be continuous. My muses and I feel like energy is wasted if we keep having to restart and refresh with a partner.

In a similar vein, I will likely not keep playing with role-players who do frequent thread junking. If you’re a person who likes to refresh all your stories, drop everything and start again, that’s grand and I’m glad it works for you because we don’t all play the same way, but it won’t suit me. If you’re someone who does this but really values playing with me, then I would ask you to keep in contact/message me and ideally start a new thread that keeps the background we’ve already established or to chat with me about what else you’d like to do. I won’t chase after people and it’s not fair to make me do the hard work. Thanks for understanding and no worries if this means I’m not suitable for you!

favorite thing about them: the utter dedication to making life easier for everybody around her. she acts out of love for others. she always tries to serve what she believes to be the greater good.

least favorite thing about them: sigh. this is a writing issue, but i desperately wish the game didn’t present so many interesting thing about her and then just… never address them. her sense of self-worth is utterly abysmal. she is desperate for love and connection and care. she feels like she needs to be perfect at everything she does or she’ll never be worthy of love. those are very interesting things! and the game never brings them up! even in her graduation event, it’s treated like a good and positive thing that she is choosing to carry on living in subservience to others. just… talk about these issues, please!

(yes, yes, i know about the love hotel event. i do not like the love hotel event and i hate that it’s the closest thing we have to an actual exploration of kirumi’s deep-seated fears and desires.)

favorite line: “no matter the situation, no matter what happens, i am here to serve everyone.”

brotp: i love most platonic kirumi content, but i especially love seeing her as friends with kaede, ryoma, kokichi, miu, and korekiyo.

otp: do i even need to say it? i will anyway. it’s amatojo. they are absolutely everything to me. i have written essays on why they work so well together. i have an ask about rantaro waiting in the inbox, so i’ll link the Big amatojo explanation i wrote when i answer that.

notp: this is going to seem petty, but i dislike seeing her romantically with anyone that’s not rantaro. ^^;; i have no problem with most of these ships conceptually, but i’m happy in my amatojo room. i have… a lot of kirumi ship tags blacklisted.

a random headcanon: i’ve seen kirumi as autistic ever since i first played v3. repetitive tasks like cleaning and fast-paced, involved tasks like cooking are incredible stims. she hates being idle and her maid work really helps with that. she also tends to speak in a monotone and has a somewhat dry sense of humor (though she does still laugh at rantaro’s sillier jokes).

i also think she does embroidery as a hobby in the rare event that she has free time! she likes to add little details to clothes, pillowcases, tablecloths, and things like that. she’s very particular about her aesthetic.

unpopular opinion: holding kirumi haters by their shoulders. kirumi is not boring nor is she a bad character. okay? i agree that her motive was stupid. i agree that the game does not write her very well most of the time. that does not make her a bad character nor does it make her boring, and even if you dislike her, please don’t tell her fans to their faces that she’s the worst part of the game.

a song i associate with them: i have a lot… but i’ll go with “rabbit heart (raise it up)” by florence + the machine.

favorite picture: so… i am not allowed to google kirumi images. i do, however, have some sprites saved to my phone, so i will send my favorite kirumi sprite. she is very happy to have fulfilled your request.

favorite thing about them: he is so, so full of love for the world and the universe. even when he’s being headstrong and stubborn, his priority is always making sure the people around him are safe and that they’re not worrying about him. kaito consistently puts everybody else’s needs in front of his own in a way that’s both endearing and frustrating—please let yourself be cared about, boy!

least favorite thing about them: sigh. i do not like his free time events with shuichi very much. i absolutely adore kaito, but his free time events are… just listening to him talk and not really engaging much or getting much from it. i think that’s an issue with nearly all of shuichi’s free time events, though. i love shuichi a lot, but he does not take a very active role in his free time events the same way kaede and hajime do.

favorite line: the classic “the impossible is possible! all you’ve gotta do is make it so!”

brotp: i like platonic saimota and akamota a lot! kaito will see a protagonist, say “is anyone gonna make best friends with that”, and not wait for an answer. i’ve also seen platonic content of him with tenko that i actually really like! i think they could have a funny sibling dynamic.

otp: sighs deeply. momoharu, my loves. i think about him and maki all the time. they’re so sweet together and good for each other. she keeps his head on straight and reminds him that he doesn’t have to carry the world on his shoulders while he helps her open up and become more confident and learn to love herself… augh. ;-;

notp: …okay. i am going to be crucified for this opinion, but… i really, really don’t like oumota. i understand why people like it and i don’t begrudge them that, but it is not my cup of tea in the slightest.

a random headcanon: i think being fluent in three languages has given kaito VERY eclectic taste in music. he likes to listen to just about any genre, but he has a special fondness for 80s new wave.

unpopular opinion: i genuinely cannot think of any off the top of my head. i suppose that’s a good thing.

Update to Tagging System

I have no idea how many of my followers and mutuals rely on the way I tag things, but just in case anyone does, I wanted to make an announcement about changes I’m making to my tagging system.

Due to my personal life becoming busier and having fewer spoons to work with in general, I’m going to be simplifying my tagging system. I’ve not yet finished devising all of the specific tags I’m using, but, my goal is to be able to use a single tag for most, if not all, posts I reblog.

For example, I will no longer be tagging specific pairings for fandoms, nor any fandom-specific tags. However, I will continue to tag for fandoms generally so that folks can blacklist them if necessary. Moreover, I will dropping a lot of (what I’ve been envisioning as) sub-tags to make things easier for me.

This will ultimately impact this blog’s ability to function as an archive, of sorts, which was something I originally set out to do, but I can’t manage it anymore. I figure scaling back is better and a more reasonable compromise than simply stopping using Tumblr altogether.

As soon as I have a core set of tags I plan on using from here on out, I will either reblog this post or make a separate post and link both in my blog description for easy viewing.

On the one hand, I’m exited about Dracula Daily starting again.

And while my body is, by and large ready, the first few months of reading before people could discuss Jack Seward with more complexity were really difficult for me.

This fandom holds the “no spoilers” rule extremely sacred and I respect that.

I enjoy people’s shitposts about the character, even the ones who ebydebify him.

But god, not being able to say anything when at the beginning when all people knew of him was what Lucy said of him and his early interactions with Renfield seemed benign compared to what they expected of 19th century asylums was difficult (this was my 3rd time reading the book).

He and Renfield are characters I have extremely strong feelings about, and sometimes it felt like I was playing chicken with my triggers. There are some entries I kind of dread. I’m not planning on reading along this time, just following the tag and I think that will help.

As always, I say this no judgement or shade to anyone in the fandom who loves Seward. These feelings are very personal (and largely rooted in my own experience working in an adjacent field to Seward’s as well as being mentally ill myself). I’m just kind of thinking out loud as I figure out how best to enjoy this year’s run while being gentle on myself and responsible for my own mental health and content consumption.

I don’t think I want to blacklist his name… that would exclude so much of the fun DD content.

But I have to acknowledge that as much as I was living for the letters from our good friend and loving the fandom reactions and discussions, there were also times where I, for my own reasons, was not having a good time.

I do think I’ll start by making a spoiler-free version of my posts about 19th century asylums and the reforms that were put in place in the early part of that century so we can further the discussion and nip some of the misconceptions in the bud (I was honestly amazed at how many people were willing to engage with those posts last year!).

But anyway, how are people who struggled with or found parts of the book triggering, whether they be the xenophobia and racism or the asylum and ableism or other aspects? Are you going to be doing anything differently?

Once we’re in it, I’m sure I’ll mostly be fine. Can’t wait to start up my Quincey countdown again. I’m just—as always— extremely in my head about things.

one thing you should know about me: This varies by the year honestly, but as of right now my time is limited. Recently, I have been so exhausted from the week from staring at a screen and writing with my homework that I have no muse to drum up for threads. So basically threads and replies may take time, as well as more plotting-centered ims. My time and energy is limited. I am still more than willing to plot and start new things, but it seems like for a while, my activity might not be as active as it used to. I also might post more ooc stuff because of it because tumblr is my general stress reliever and form of escapism. Blacklist my ( ooc ) tag if needed.

one thing you should know about rping with my character(s): I would recommend for almost all of them (except maybe my da muses) is to read over their bios. Some of my muses deviate from canon slightly in their characterization. Some traits are explored in more detail (Evie’s more emotionally reserved nature, Hewlett’s trauma). I would just to recommend to skim over those and usually, I have a backstory figured out for my muses. Also, some muses are more active than others and may vary from day-to-day, so keep that in mind. I also am always open to feedback on my portrayals, my exploration of various mental illnesses. I believe I am fairly knowledgeable of the mental illnesses I write, of ADHD (not a mental illness, but something I’m more unfamiliar with). I only know the most about anxiety disorders due to my own experience, but even then, I am open to a second opinion.

Speaking of Valentino, the way I play Angel is him still definitely within the confines of the contract. He might do things he is ashamed/embarassed of and doesn’t want to actually do because of the contract. Dubcon will probably be explored on here to some degree because he struggles saying no to Val. That doesn’t stop him from fighting back, but he’s going to do some gross things because his soul is owned. Also, my Angel does have love for Val. That doesn't mean I ship them AT ALL. It means that I have no shame as a therapist in exploring the cycle of abuse and toxic relationships, and that this is incredibly important to my Angel's story.

This being said, dubcon would be the only thing I'd put under a Read More because I know other people hate it. I don't really intend to write it out, but people could argue that Valentino using his 'poison' is considered dubious consent, and yeah, I'm going to write that and flesh it out a bit. As for other read mores, I'm lazy and it ain't gonna happen. You followed a character who is a sex worker. There's going to be smut. Murder. Cussing. That's the content of the show. I have no shame putting it out in the open. As mentioned, you can check the trigger warnings on my posts before reading something.

I’m a multipara/novella roleplayer. I’ll do some one liners and crack stuff, but it won’t be as common. I want to have elaborate threads. I want to flesh out this character. I’m going to come up with things about him that Vivzie doesn’t and make him a little bit my own. And that comes from writing, writing, writing. If I don't reply to you, it's probably because I can't work with one liners and I am stumped.
