When it warps a body I’d say it’s an advanced possession - like the Exorcist movies

Soul bound to an object is a flavor of cursed item, just with Someone/Something sentient banging around - unless it’s on purpose SPECIFICALLY for messing with people, then I’d say wearing the object.

If a ghost possesses a robot OF ANY SORT then it’s like a mech situation, a literal ghost in the machine; but if it’s haunting a computer, then more like wearing the object

Chucky’s just a modern haunted doll, with extra steps; but if you tell him that he’ll stab you because he’s got AN EGO THE SIZE OF TEXAS

IN MY OPINION:

If a ghost is controlling an object is that a "monster" or do you still call the thing a ghost? What about when it warps and modified the original object into something more like a body? What about when it's a soul bound directly to the object the same way it would have been bound to a natural body, rather than an independent disembodied spirit "wearing" the object? Is that a monster or a possession? Is it a monster if this process makes the object flesh? If a ghost is controlling a mechanical or electronic object is that now a mech with a supernatural pilot or only if the object already had a humanoid or animal like form? Is this affected by whether or not it was originally designed to move? If the object was always a robot and now a ghost or soul provides its self-awareness is it a spirit, robot, mech or monster?

Which one of these things is Chucky???
