Black leather, mixed into the scent of the ex-mercenary serving as her complete guide for this battle ahead. To devote time to this quest -- something he was completely determined to achieve -- from the time she had within the realm of her life was something she would consider to be the best thing she could have ever decided to do.
Other than choosing to be a mixologist.
Knowing something that is unknown should be considered impossible, but it wasn't. The load that Lighter carried was considerably heavier than that most, even in a world like this, seemed to carry on their backs. All the while, he continued to serve as a provider for every member of the Sons of Calydon. It was very little to rare that he would take a moment out for himself, which became a tiresome routine for Burnice to witness.
Watching somebody with as big a calliber as him to be burning in his compassion for others, only to allow a flickering candle to serve as his own? She intended to drown his heart in her flames, engulfing every inch of his skin until he was permanently stuck to giving himself something. A partial greed for that acknowledgement to have him stick to her was strong for something she always claimed was small, but love is an irreversible event for any human living. It is what pulls people together, and indifference served as a repellent of that passionate declaration.
Those senses nipped at her skin to observe, and so she did. Lifting her head from being buried in his back, her eyes would scan diligently over the discretion they walked over, thinning the ice that was made to protect them from this lane in the first place. Sitting in that metaphor, intrigue would be plastered on her face.
"When it comes to you, I can't leave anything alone!"
Honesty was a blessing for this member of the Sons of Calydon. Carefree spirits serving a means to stay loyal to one another and their service to help out, he held that very last condition to a standard that forced him to stretch himself out thinly. Was it not a natrual response to be riddled with concern for him? Not only that, but how would that, in turn, not ignite that desire within her to provide assistance?
The real fight was on the brink of opening, like a final curtain call. Everything that echoed in the face of it was a mere test of the human heart. The blonde could hardly contain how she was feeling, and that was what she would combine with her weaponary. Hardly as skilled as Lighter, but her eager, unmoving determination surely made up for it. As she raises her body from Ignition, his firm, physical presence right beside her almost left her utterly frozen on the spot. Even during those moments where flirtation occurred, the intensity of those nerves had never hit such a high before.
The kiss itself was Heaven, but the timing of it felt like torment.
"There is no need to fight me on this," her voice carried the burden of highlighting this point, highlighting his importance to him. Lord, did she have to stamp it onto his forehead? Still, the way his fingers worked against her hair and skull seemed to leave her lax for a moment, basking in that feeling before it would be torn away.
“You’re worth one-hundred times the chaos you put to bed, you know that? You’re not just known because you can beat people in a few fights. You’re known because you are seen and admired.” Some part of her felt as though she was lecturing a child about the quality of life, how the seeds planted by one can turn into thousands of hands helping one thing to develop, can then ultimately lead to that worthwhile experience of something finally coming together, even if those who weren’t present at that first moment get to enjoy the fruits of labour.
“For you… what wouldn’t I do? Things would be so boring without you.”
Burnice finds herself standing, lifting her leg over to stand. With a stretch, she found herself taking a few steps forward, before twirling to look at him.
“What’re you waiting for? Let’s do this. Together.”
Even from the day he first met her. Lighter can't picture the miracle work she had to enact to allow his mind to become more receptive. How often he'd love dark abodes, to live in the past, to suffer in ways that held no concrete ending. She was one of the many lights who intended to change that. Fire and strife plays a part in their lives, yet never in what cultivates the impassioned heat that drives him to this day. Such proof could be found in the way she squeezes that certainty into his very being.
"Hm." There's a smile settled on his lips as he curves the bike, coasting along a more discreet path, allowing the orange-ish docks to surround them on high as the path to this Hollow was settled in a ravine like area.
"Keeps me on my toes. And more than that, know how much you like keeping involved." It was a quality he couldn't be thankful enough to experience. The high pace of the motorcycle ride begins to slow as a familiar hum surrounds them, that encroaching oblivion locked by its own laws as what looks like a goddamn black hole would be settled close. Yet, this isn't what summons the root of his attention.
No. It's what Burnice boldly declares with a forthright tenderness as he slowly turns off Ignition.
Here they were, close to the task while such a humane wish found itself warming his ears. Instinct opted his hand to reach forth, to give a supportive grasp upon those interlocked fingers. "What I'm racing for, huh?" There was a brewing stir of emotion that seized him, prompting him to turn away from the Hollow and towards that spitfire adorned in leather. Once the kickstand is drawn, he'd toss a leg over before simply remaining by her side.
This time, with an arm coming to wrap around her shoulders.
"Pretty tall order. Y'know how often I'm all over the Outer Ring?" Despite the 'rebuttal', that gloved hand draws higher in order to brush the back of her head.
"We'd have to come up with a way to get a whole bar on the road. You'd really want to go through all that trouble?" Those words touched him. Just taking a moment to picture the thought, of some miraculous balance between size and travel coming to hold the diligence of Calydon's duties. In another branch, finding a way to bring the revelry of her charms on the road, days they'd spend just tucked away from reality, or finding ways to become the life of the party themselves.
