Added a children's [picture] book today that was requested by one of the education professors. It's a very soapboxy book. And on a very basic level I agree with the point, but yikes, that read like not so much a story as propaganda. Not even written by a literary author but a commentator.

I don't foresee this one being much of a hit with what few young patrons we have. Or with our education students.

#random personal stuff #back on my soapbox feel free to ignore #tl;dr another questionable book choice #I would prefer not to disclose any further details to avoid Drama #we don't have many deeply weird children's books here but there are a few #a few years ago the collection development librarian had me add one that...#...well let's just say it had an approach to Revelation that seemed designed to scare children into a certain kind of behavior #SHOCKINGLY enough no one has ever checked it out
