Just got emotional over the SU SDCC Sardonyx teaser from 2015
#Walt talks#rambling in the tags#I would give fucking anything to have been a young adult cosplayer when the SU fandom was at its peak#but even just being a kid in that era of SU was just#a whimsy I can’t explain#I miss when fandoms had that kinda#oomph to em#I think that’s why I crawl all over in the UTDR fandom because it’s like#the closest thing to those vibes that still exists#so many fandoms just feel empty nowadays#full but empty#and you can fucking feeeeellll it#not just online but at conventions#so many people would come up to me either to say hi or take a photo fully expecting me to be short with them#fuck no???#I declare we are being SILLY TOGETHER and you can talk to me like you’ve known me for years#idk it’s thoughts like these that make me realize I’ve officially become a convention vet#I gotta be the annoying adult now who tells kids not to con crunch and tells tales of conventions long past#and I’m not romanticizing 2014-18#it had some FLAW flaws#but something was more . whole.
