#I wonder if that was deliberate (that everyone thought they were betrothed since her birth) or whether it’s just a slip-up on shannon’s part

[ID: a screenshot of the character list in the priory of the orange tree. it reads, “Sabran VII: Twenty-first queen of the House of Berethnet. Daughter of Glorian III of Inys. She was betrothed to Haynrick Vatten, Steward-in-Waiting to Mentendon, on the day she was born. After his death, and her own abdication, Sabran wed her principal Lady of the Bedchamber, Lady Brilda Glade.” /end ID]
yes this is canon actually!!
I don’t know who is interested in this take but the most beautiful part of “A Day of Fallen Night” wasn’t something mentioned in the book. Glorian’s arc ends with her being desperate for her daughter to not have to suffer like she did but not having much hope. But there is a titbit from “Priory” I remembered throughout all of the prequel. There was a Queen who got together with one of her own handmaidens after she relinquished her throne to her daughter. This Queen is Glorian’s daughter Sabran. So it seems like the way Glorian raised her daughter lead to Sabran following her own happiness beyond having to give birth.
