Part 1 Briefing

"Keep going. Haven't got all day." It's been like this since you arrived. It's your first day at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaplex. When you spotted the job offer as a security guard on the internet, you didn't hesitate long and sent off an application. Even though you didn't know at the time if it was going to work out. But here you are now, running after your co-worker - who has been a bit grumpy since the beginning and briefly introduced himself as Jeff to you - and receiving a briefing from him, which he seems very reluctant to give. "There are two things you absolutely must remember," he tells you. "Never lose your name tag. Always carry it with you while you're in the building. That thing has a chip with your employee ID. The animatronics and bots have facial recognition, but with that thing, they'll recognize you as an employee even from a good distance away, and they'll leave you alone when you're making your rounds at night." "Okay, got it." Somehow he sounded constantly exasperated. You force yourself to smile and nod politely in order not to upset your future co-worker even more. And yet, his expression only turns grimmer.
"The second thing is this," he reaches for something in his jacket pocket and shoves it into your hand as you both continue to walk through the aisles. It looks like a black tablet. Curious, you hit the power button and the screen comes to life. But what is displayed there isn't too impressive. Just four options are shown to you on the screen, two of those options are just for locking and unlocking the remaining functions. Currently, the remaining symbols are unlocked. "The bell lets you set off silent alarms within the facility. During the day, if there's trouble, a couple of the security bots will come rolling in. Not that the blockheads are any help. Better not rely too much on them. At night, it will also notify the security program. You can just let them do the rest of the work." "That freak," you hear your Jeff mutter under his breath before he continues. "So assess the situation. Sound the alarm if necessary, and in an absolute emergency, call the police on one of the phones. Got it so far?" "Uh. Yes. Yes! Got it. Although… I do have one more question. What's the other symbol for? This… lightning bolt?" At least it looks like the typical symbol that usually warns you about electricity. "Hah! That thing is linked to the nighttime security program. If for some reason it doesn't respond to the alarm or otherwise gives you trouble, just give it a controlled shock with this." Pardon? A shock? Baffled, you stare at your co-worker before asking in utter confusion, "You want me to… shock the system?" that sounded… not like something you should do with technical equipment. Your colleague, however, just waves it off. As if your concerns are just annoying flies he has to deal with. "Not the system itself. When talking about the security program, it means one of the animatronics. From the daycare. The one that looks like a moon. You know." You didn't. You didn't read anything about a moon shaped animatronic on the website. You only know the four band members of the Pizzaplex, who each had their own little profile on the official website. So… the extra guard is an animatronic that resembles a moon? Well that just adds more concerns to your mind about this bizarre function. It feels like you're being told to shock one of your co-workers and not worry about the consequences. Not a good feeling. Jeff is probably just exaggerating… So far, you haven't heard him say a good word about anyone or anything. You want to give him the tablet back, but he just waves you off. "I was supposed to hand it to you anyway. It's my last day in this madhouse here." That surprises you. Somehow you thought you'd run into each other more often. Now to hear that you're basically his replacement for the job is kind of a weird feeling. No wonder he's so disinterested and allows himself a few pointed remarks. "Oh, okay." Guess you will keep it then. Well, at least you won't have to bother with getting along with him by hook or crook. You take a deep breath and lock the functions on the pad first, if only to avoid the risk of a false alarm or an accidental shock, before turning it off and putting it away.
You continue your walk around the facility. Jeff barely pauses. Now that you know he's quitting today, you can already guess that he just wants to get this whole thing over with quickly, and you're not too mad at him for that, either. If you finish earlier, you can at least take a look at the places that seemed interesting to you. Eventually, you end up with him standing inside one of the employee break rooms. It's a pretty small room. An old sofa. A table, three chairs, a few metal lockers that already look a bit battered and scratched. Nothing particularly exciting. Jeff is already digging out his bag from one of the lockers and looks like he's ready to leave any second. "Understood everything so far?" "Oh. Yeah. Yeah I guess," you reply hastily and it seems to be the answer he wants to hear from you. "And… thanks again for the tour and the advice." "Just following my orders," he merely grumbles, giving you a look like he's feeling sorry for you for some reason. "Hope you've got good nerves. Gonna need them here." You don't bother to ask what he is referring to, because he's already out the door and you don't feel like chasing after him. So you just shout a little goodbye after him. It's probably nothing after all. Your eyes wander to the clock on the wall and realize that it can't possibly be three o'clock, which is why you look at your phone instead. It's half an hour before closing time. During the week, the Pizzaplex was only open until 21:30. So slowly the last visitors were surely on their way to the main entrance to leave the building, before in half an hour the doors and shutters were closed automatically. That should give you some more time to look through the documents you got at the beginning. Various safety regulations. Locations of fire extinguishers in the different areas of the complex, where to find the emergency exits, what to do in case of a fire, the usual stuff that new employees are given to read through.
By now it's half past nine and you decide to make your first official round. Even if it makes you a little nervous that you will be on your own. After all, it's the first time you've taken a job as a security guard. … everything will be fine! Think positively! There's not that much that can go wrong! The complex is already pretty well secured with all the technical equipment. Most things run automatically here. In the worst case, there might be a teenager or child wandering around somewhere, trying to hide here for fun. "Wouldn't be surprised if that happened more often at a place like this," you mutter to yourself with a smile. Because hey, what kid wouldn't dream of hanging out with their idols for a night? And that is what the Glamrocks are to the kids, who come here with their parents to just see them. The thought makes you smile a little. Speaking of the Glamrocks… maybe you'll run into your non-human colleagues on your walk and finally get a chance to properly introduce yourself to them! Earlier with Jeff, you only saw some of them when passing by. But the band members had been completely surrounded by their cute, little fans and you had moved past them so quickly that you hadn't even been able to wave to them a hello. By now with a little more confidence, you fish out the map you received with the rest of the documents and leave the break room with it to set off on your big, exciting expedition! Without any nagging, bad vibes or rushing. You grin a little, because you are now somehow looking forward to being allowed to roam around here without worrying about what some grouchy co-worker thinks of you. "So let's see where to go first."
_
So that's it for the introduction. In part 2 Y/N will meet Sun! I have the part already written down and translated. Just have to reread the translated text once more and put tags on it. Guess I will tag story parts and sketches for this security au with: never forgotten.
Not sure if it will be a full on going story or not. But I want to give my ideas some space in whatever way works best. Be it sketches with short or longer explanations or these story parts (with or without sketches). We will see.
#never forgotten#fnaf#fnaf sb#fnaf security breach#security breach#fnaf y/n#story time#traditional drawing#sketches#my art#do not reupload#we go the dca route here#Old security guy is an idiot#I translate my stuff mostly with DeepL and using dict.cc to countercheck single words. But yeah there can still be some hickups and stuff.#Inside my head I think of the Y/N in my story or sketches as male but please feel free to picture them whatever you like#I will try to keep the gender neutral in the upcoming texts but no promises cause I haven't really much experience with it#Also yes. Super hyped from all the amazing y/n x dca art out here! And reading ffs like Solar Lunacy!

omg how abouttttttt cal planning an ice skating date and the guys find out (thinking it's a hang out) and join bc his silly ass didn't say spefically that he was gonna go on a date with
Alright, let's see what I can on these old rusty wheels.
Gender Neutral Reader Insert.
________________
Ashton watches Calum peer down at his phone again and then turn it over so the half bitten apple etched into the phone shows up through the clear case. Calum peers up just as Michael gets his guitar in his lap. Both men get picks adjusted properly and then on Ashton's count, they start strumming.
The text from you still burns in Calum's brain. I haven't gone ice skating in a long time. Used to love it. Why do you ask? Could this be date related?
He was really unsure how you would respond to the idea. Having only hung out either to get food or watch movies so far, the idea of an activity date caused Calum a little fear. Especially because he had asked you to trust him so blindly about this. He, of course, couldn't build the date keeping you completely in the dark. But he posed it like a question, What's an activity you used to love but sort of stopped doing?
And it shouldn't shock him that you'd be working hard to sniff out his plans for a date. You were a little impatient about things. But usually always caught yourself about it too. Your initial text was followed up immediately with, I don't want to ruin it though! I'm sorry! I'm just eager.
Ice skating could work though. There was a rink he was pretty sure that was either open or opening up soon within the next week. As Calum works through the riff with Michael, though it should be his sole attention, he figures once they break for lunch, he should look into the ice skating idea. Truthfully, he hadn't always been necessarily skilled on the blades, but he could manage.
As the week progress, Calum starts assembling his plan. The two of you will meet for a light dinner, with a promise of extra snacks should it come up, and plenty of hot drinks. There's a small Mom and Pop diner about four blocks from the rink. So after dinner, you two will head over to the rink and skate. This upcoming weekend there's a tree lighting ceremony and the shops in the area stay open late for the event too.
He thought about suggesting riding around to see more Christmas lights. But he already knows from the other dates that you still haven't grown fond of having him pick you up so he figures best not to push it. He assumes by then, it would be a good point to let the night decide where it goes--whether it ends or whether the two of you find more things to get up too. But Calum's fond to leave some wiggle room in his plan rather than trying to overplan it.
Let's meet Saturday at 6:30 for dinner. Then you can follow me to part two of the date. How does that sound? Calum sends the text, along with the name of the diner, knowing that it may be hours before you get a chance to see it. But he'd rather text than call you because your day schedule varies a lot more than his does.
It's only two hours that pass before you respond. Sounds great! Looking forward to seeing you again!
Calum grins at the text. Same, I'm excited too!
"What's the weekend plan?" Luke asks. The guys talked very vaguely about hanging out together. But nothing had been said since it was suggested on Wednesday.
With a bite of his sandwich just about done, Calum gathers up a few fries. "I'm looking into that ice skating rink that opened close by downtown Saturday evening. Looks cool."
"Oh yeah? I think I heard about it. Shockingly doesn't seem to be too packed just yet," Michael returns.
"Same. I'm hoping it stays that way at least through one more weekend, ya know."
"You said you goin' Saturday evening?"
"Yeah, probably 7:30 or so. Not entirely sure about that time though."
"Maybe Saturday evening won't be too to packed. Most families would be going in the morning/afternoon," Ashton adds and then the conversation diverges as the server comes back again to check up on them.
_______
Calum's the first to arrive to the diner. He wanted to gauge how busy. it was and be able to offer an alternative in case it seemed too bad. But thankful even with a full parking lot, Calum's seen a good handful of cars pull out too. It meant that even with the crowd, they were still getting people in and out in decent time.
A car turns into the lot and Calum watches it, praying it is and isn't you. Wanting it to you because god he's missed hearing your laugh and seeing the way you always gazed intently at him even if it made him nervous and not wanting it to be you because God, he does not want another repeat of the movie theater where he accidently knocked over your popcorn and spilling it everywhere. He could do without the embarrassment.
And when the car pulls into the spot next to him, and you wave, his heart races. He waves in return and then slips out of the SUV to greet you at your door. "Hey," he smiles gently. You smile in return and he swears there's no way he should be this excited and this calm at the same time around on person. But you've managed to do the impossible.
The two of you walk inside, catching up on the week. You talk about your job, how long it took you to pick out the outfit of jeans, a sweater, and coat. "Well, you-you look amazing," Calum offers.
"Thanks," you return. "You look good too."
He scoffs just a little but lets you follow first behind the server. As the two of you are seated, they ask what you want to drink and both of you ask for water. "How's the studio treating you?" you ask, knowing that previously Calum expressed some frustration earlier in the week.
"Better now, I guess. One riff was just a little hard."
You nod and glance over the menu in the slight lull.
"How's your cousin?" Calum asks. You mentioned getting a call that they had wound up in the hospital and he didn't want to pry but he did want to make sure you were doing okay.
"Good--they wound up drinking something that they were just severely allergic too. But they're on the up and up."
"And what about you? I know you said hearing the news stressed you out a little."
Calum watches as you exhale deeply. "I'm okay. If I'm honest, I'm tired--haven't sleep too great. But knowing they're okay makes it better."
He nods and then gently stretches his hand across the table to cover yours. "I''m here--if you need it."
"Thank you, Calum. I appreciate it." As the server comes back with your waters, the two of you are still unsure of what to order as food, but do order some hot drinks.
The date's going well--you laugh Calum's retelling about the shit storm that Duke had and though it occurs to him he shouldn't be talking about that over food, you don't seem phased and as you confess your childhood dream to own a literal dragon, Calum agrees that the name should've been Edna like the character from The Incredibles. It's a nice time and when all your food is consumed with the bill paid for you, Calum grins.
"So," he starts. "Part two involves some skates, if you're okay with that?"
"Skates? Like ice skating?" you practically bounce of your seat as you speak.
"You got me."
Popping out of your seat, you stretch out your hand. "I will leave you behind if you don't move fast enough," you threaten and that's all Calum needs before he's pushing out of his seat and following behind you with your fingers interlaced.
The rink is busier than Calum wanted, but it's not too bad. The line to rent skates is only about six people deep when the two of you arrive. In line, you retell about some of the competitions you attended and you can tell he's shocked. "What?" you ask.
"Nothing bad. I just--you said you used to skate, I don't think it was like that." It's not that Calum felt an overwhelming urge to impress you. He just didn't want to make a fool of himself.
"I never competed. I went because I was a pack mule. My mom was an instructor. She wanted me to compete, but I don't know--it just wasn't for me."
"Oh," Calum states, eyes widening and laughing at his own assumption. The two of you get your skates and find a place to settle down to get them on.
Just as Calum stands to test the tie, he hears his name. "What?" he says quietly and then spots Ashton waving at him.
"Who's that?" you ask, standing up too. The man across the way--who's getting closer and followed by two other bodies--gets closer but you catch a look of confusion crossing his face as well.
"That's-that's my friend, Ashton."
"Oh, he's in the band too right?"
"Yeah," Calum answers, barely glancing at you. When he spots Michael and Luke behind him, Calum's full blown confused. "Ash, what are you doing here?"
"Dude, you said you wanted to come here," Ashton returns and then turns his full attention to you. "Hi, I'm Ashton."
You offer your name with a small wave. Michael and Luke introduce themselves as well and it's silent. "So, uh, Calum tells me you four make music?" you offer, hoping to break the awkward silence.
"Uh, yeah, been ten years now," Ashton offers and then looks back to Calum.
"So, how do you know Calum?" Luke asks, attempting to not make it feel too awkward and then glances to Calum.
"They-They're uh," Calum starts and then looks to you. It's only been a handful of dates--it's dating for sure. But it's not like an official relationship yet or anything. "Well, they're my date right now," Calum settles on and then turns back to his friends.
Michael's the first to catch onto what's happening and laughs, howling and ripping into the evening. He tugs on Luke's shoulder. And Luke seems nearly frozen in the shock. "Oh my god. We are so sorry," Michael starts.
"Dude!" Ashton shouts. "You said you were looking into coming here. Not coming here with a date!"
You snicker and look up to Calum. He gaps. "Luke asked a question and I fucking answered it."
"We were trying to make group plans," Ashton returns.
"Oh!"
Your shoulders shake with your laughter. "So I'm hoping I'm not your little secret."
Calum turns to you, fear evident on his face with the widened eyes and he's quickly to shake his head. "Oh, no, no, no--"
"I'm kidding," you interrupt, but that doesn't stop him.
"I just--I hadn't brought you up yet because I know how they get. They rag on me. And I was just--"
"Calum, it's really okay. I'm totally kidding and I'm so sorry for crossing a line," you return, now embarrassed about your own joke.
"I think we should go," Michael carries on. "It was nice meeting you," he extends to you.
You watch Ashton, Luke, and Michael shuffle back over to their original seating. Calum's buried his face in his head. You grab onto his wrist and gently tug on it to get him to uncover his face. "I am so sorry! I really didn't think I'm so sorry."
"It's fine, Calum."
"Do you want to leave? We could just walk around downtown until the lighting ceremony. I did not think my mates would be here."
You shake your head, purposefully threading your fingers through his. "Nope, I don't want to leave. And if you want, I'd love to meet your friends. But if it's not the right time, I understand."
Calum leans in a little, tracing the line of your jaw. "I like the idea better of not scaring you just yet with them."
"I mean, what a hell of a first impression, huh?"
He snickers. "Yeah, I guess so."
"So we skate and then watch them light the Christmas tree and we say goodbye to your friends then, if they're still there?"
Calum nods. "Yeah, I think I can recover from the embarrassment by then."
"Take all the time you need," you laugh and lead him to the rink. You two skate side by side most of the time, and slowly it's almost as if his friends didn't just randomly bomb the date for five minutes. But you notice every so often that Calum gestures to the group to either shoo, or flicks them off and you know that they're getting more a kick out of hanging around.
"I know they like the rise they can get out of you," you comment, skating a head just a little and turning around. The rink's thinned out since you first got here.
Calum looks over to you and you can instantly see the way his gaze changes, softens as he looks at you. "I'm sure they do. And look at you!"
"Mom was an instructor. I was going to learn to skate even if I didn't compete. So tell me about your friends. How long have you four known each other?"
You continue to skate around the rink backwards, though you still throw a glance over your shoulder to make sure you're not running into anyone. Calum tells you about meeting in school and you can't help the smile at the way he talks about his friends. The more and more laps you do, the more you learn and the more you involuntarily divulge about yourself and when it gets silent it doesn't feel awkward.
You glance up to the sky and notice just how dark it is now. You stop for a second and feel when Calum stops in front of you even if you can't see all of him. "Hey," he says softly to get your attention.
When you look down, he's got a shy grin on his face. "Thanks for not freaking out about them."
"Oh you don't have to thank me about that."
His hands find yours and for a moment you watch the way his long slender fingers run over yours. "But I do. It means a lot, even more, that you ask about them too."
"They're your friends. Of course I want to know more about them."
And you make it sound so fucking easy. As if all of this should be a given. "Can-Can I ask you something?"
"You technically just did."
He rolls his eyes, but when you squeeze gently at his hands he looks back up at you.
"Ask me whatever."
And you're staring at him in a way he didn't think anyone could stare at him, with full attention and fully being present in the moment. He can tell every piece of him is being held by your gaze. "Can I kiss you?" The question leaves his hips so softly you almost don't hear it.
And it doesn't matter if his friends are still here or not, but Calum's looking at you like he's warm toffee--goey and oozes with a sense of comfort. "I-yes-I'd like that."
The distance closes between two of you and his lips are soft against yours. The kiss is light, enough to know it's a kiss, but soft enough that it feels like it should've floated away from you. Just as the two of you pull back, you can hear shouts getting closer to you on the ice and behind Calum are his friends skating up. You noticed them passing you two in laps, but most of the time they seemed to be just sitting.
"It was so perfect," Calum mutters.
You cup his cheek and turn his attention back to you. "It is perfect. Even with their teasing." And you kiss him again, a bit firmer this time but keeping hands all above the waist.

Hey lol i hope i'm not bothering bug if that's okay could i request the first years + Grim {platonic only for the gremlin lol} (sorry i just love them they're all so precious🥺) with a MC who has demonic heritage? Like, when the mirror judged them he talked about them being stronger than the average human or something and they just shrugged went "ah yeah, it's because my grandparents are demons".
They're still human since they're the dominant genes but as i said previously they're stronger than an average person and have heightened senses. they're not as strong as a demon or a half-human half-demon but they're capable to defend themselves if needed.
Bonus if they actually get to meet their demon relatives and their relatives are super sweet to them. Sorry i just love the thought of a thousands of years old creature being soft for a kid 👉👈 gsksgs sorry that this is so specific gsksgsk
A/N: There’s nothing wrong with specific asks bby I love this prompt! I will be making a part two where the first years meet the grandparents :)
Y/N is gender neutral
Characters: Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, Epel Felmeir, Jack Howl, Sebek Zigvolt, Grim (platonic ofc)
Ace:
-You both had to study for an upcoming test for Magical History
-Ace texting you, and I quote “PLZ HELP”
-With a ridiculously, large textbook with leather fastening laid out on the table and other resources you began your session
-”Okay, I understand every section of this book. But the last one is about demons, but I really don’t understand it. It’s in this forgien text and I can’t read any of it.”
-You turned to look at the page, looking it over, you understood it perfectly
-”It’s discussing magic potion compounds demons use. It’s nothing that we really need to study in depth.”
-Ace looked at you like you grew another head, “How could you understand any of that, Y/N!?”
-”Well, my grandparents are demons after all.”
-”Y/N, what the fuck.”
-You can’t just drop a bombshell like that?? So casually??
- Ace had been crushing on you forever, and just now you’re confessing this to him??
-I mean he knew that you were incredibly strong, but he just thought that was how humans from this place you call Earth come from
-He was so shocked and in a state of disbelief that he just had to meet your grandparents
Deuce:
-There had been rumors of a dark evil from within the forest, something otherworldly
-”Hey Deuce, wanna go check out of what's in the forest?” you asked, bored on this Friday night
-”W-what?! Are you crazy? I’m not going with you and you shouldn’t either-”
-And there he was, by your side roaming through the dark forest with a flashlight
-Hearing the coos and caws of different creatures lurking within
-”Ah new humans to devour, my favorite!” a new voice exclaimed.
-And while Deuce screamed, he got infront of you to protect you “Y/N get behind me now!”
-”Y/N?
-You recognized that voice. “Eren?”
-”Oh, well this is awkward-”
-”Now what did your mother tell you about terrorizing the innocent?” you asked, gripping the shadow beast’s...ear?
-”Now you best go home, otherwise I’ll tell Aunt Acheron!”
-Deuce was in a state of shock, mouth gaping open at your exchange
-”Sorry, that was my cousin Eren” you said sheepishly.
-”What do you mean cousin?” Deuce asked, not believing what was coming out of your mouth
-”Well my grandparents are demons. Almost my entire family is!”
-You were just… full of surprises aren’t you Y/N…
Epel:
-Pomefiore was hosting a “Party for the Ages” as Vil called it
-And they needed to get these decorations on point, so Epel called Y/N to help aid them
-They needed to hand the streamers from the upper handrail of the stairs, which keep in mind is a completely second story
-”Hey Y/N, could you please hang these up there?” Epel asked, handing you the streamers
-”Oh okay cool” you replied. Wait why are you running- oh my god you jumped to the second story of the dorm
-”Y/N!” Epel yelled out.
-”Yeah?”
-”What did you just do?!”
-That was superhuman strength, no human being could jump from the ground to the second story of a house, let alone a mansion like building?
-Once you both finished decorating you told him about your heritage with demons
-” I-I see”
-He understands but he is still in shock
Jack:
-He always knew that there was something strange about you
-Your abilities were flat out inhuman and your smell was different
-But he just couldn’t figure it out
-Until one day, he just had to ask
-You decided to help the organize the Rugby field with him in the afternoon
-”Hey, Jack! Catch!” you said, about 80 feet away from him
-And there you threw, except you didn’t quite aim it right
-And...the ball went right out of the vicinity
-the display looking like a comet as it blistered with so much heat it turned a bright orange-fiery hue
-Jack gasped at what just happened
-”Y/N, what even are you?” he asked, still bewildered
-”Well, a quarter demon. I’m not as strong as my grandparents though” you smiled.
-Jack loves you dearly Y/N, but god did you confuse him
Sebek:
-Ah, Sebek he really did try to keep his feelings for you at bay
-I mean, him with a human? Pathetic, it could never happen
-But everyone did see how he treated you more gently than others he had distaste for
-When he realized your true power and when you told him about your family was when you challenged to spar him
-Sebek decided to just go easy on you and throw out a couple of magical beams or whatever to help your skills in combat-
-Wait you’re beating his ass hold on-
-Even though Sebek won, the fae started his own little fit
-”What was that?! T-That isn’t like weak humans at all!”
-”Well, technically I’m not human since my grandparents are demons.”
-You grabbed your towel since you started to sweat
-”Well I’m going home, nice sparring match, Sebek! You did super good!” you complimented, giving a soft pat to his forehead with the back of your palm
-If he struggled this much fighting someone who only has a ¼ or ½ human DNA (he doesn’t know your parent’s DNA after all) then how powerful is a fullbread demon?
-The man has so many questions that he will bother you about
Grim (platonic):
-He knew during the first few months of school when you both had ghosts in your dorm
-And while you didn’t mind, there were a few in particular that seriously got on your nerves
-Those ghosts had to go
-One day they just wouldn’t stop messing with Grim
-And while he is a slight menace to society, Grim didn’t deserve it
-So you decided to take out your Amina Box (Soul Box), or your Soul Snatcher as you liked to call it that your grandmother had gifted to you
-Once you opened it, in the ghosts went inside vacuum like
-Grim was so weirded out
-”They were bullying me the whole time and you didn’t bother to stop them?! And where did you even get a box like that, stupid human?”
-”First of all, it was a little funny. Second off, I’m not really a human, after all my grandparents were demons.”
-Grim stayed in silence, connecting the dots until the light bulb went off and he got a little jealous

Wonwoo x (gender neutral) Reader | soulmate AU fluff | 1k
an epilogue to: the moon told me so ☾~ and the little flower on your wrist
synopsis: it’s been a while since wonwoo’s returned and needless to say, things between you two haven’t been perfect — but that’s what life’s all about, right? what matters most is that you’re giving each other a chance; a chance to love each other.
a/n: hi my lovely anon 🥺you’ve asked for this so long ago skjdfhjsd i know you said it’s just a suggestion but still SORRY ABOUT THE DELAY. the drabble ended up becoming more like a oneshot but i’m not complaining... i may write an extension to this in the future, so this may become a chaptered epilogue if they even work like that anyways anyways ily<3

=====
Things started out pretty awkwardly between you and Wonwoo. For many reasons. One was the fact that you hadn't each other in person for the last four years. Another was that neither of you was sure how you wanted to go about this whole dating thing.
Ever since he held your hand at the airport, neither of you made another move. Rather, there was always an awkward distance between you two, and your friends would cast curious glances your way because they swore you told them you were dating each other. Which you were... though the definition of dating may have been skewed.
You did, however, manage to bring yourselves out to a cafe to meet up again. Just the two of you. You thought it was a (not so) funny coincidence that you ended up sitting in the same cafe where Wonwoo had first told you he was moving. Same seat, same drink, same weather, same everything.
When drinks remained untouched, conversations fell stale, and eye contact was hardly attainable, you let out a sigh and suggested that you scrap the whole dating thing for now and simply try to reconnect as best friends.
He agreed, and the atmosphere immediately felt a bit lighter. It was easier to slip in a joke here and there to encourage him to smile. You couldn't believe how your heart still beats so fast whenever you see his lips curl upwards and his eyes light up.
Soon, you were both talking to each other like he had never gone to work, and you had never hidden your soulmate mark, and there had never been any drama or arguments in the first place. It was like things were going the way fate had intended it to be for once.
You sat opposite of each other. And so, you could see his dark hair, still ruffled from this morning because he had woken up late and almost missed your meeting time. You could see his hand wrapped around the cup of mocha; the sleeves of his sweater riding up to show you the flowers and moon on his wrist. You nervously rub your ankles against each other underneath the table to ease the burning sensation of your own mark. At the same time, it eased the burning on your cheeks because wow, when was his laugh this adorable?
He hadn't changed. He really hadn't changed at all. He was still the same old Wonwoo, who loved books and that one video game he's been clinging onto since childhood. The same old Wonwoo who always ordered his drinks without whipped cream and always had pictures of cats as his phone background.
And yet something about him was different. His aura was older, wiser. Like he was the embodiment of all the introspection one could possibly do within their entire life. Though his posture was still small, and it made you want to reach out to him and tell him that it was okay.
Which you did, when the conversation died down again and you could tell he was desperately trying to start it back up. Trying, for your sake, to be someone who's able to express love and be what a boyfriend "should be”.
Screw all those should be’s.
You told him that it was okay to take things slow. Words that were filled with nothing but honesty, because you've already waited this long, and you're willing to wait even longer. You're willing to encourage him to take this chance of trying to love someone and if he decides that it wasn't for him... well... you could figure that out later.
In the present, he said he wanted to love you, and so you will be there for him to love.
His tense posture relaxed and his sleeves slipped over the mark. You shared a smile and he went back to sipping his mocha; you, picking at your own food.
Though the liveliness of your atmosphere was dampened, it wasn't a bad thing. To you, it was replaced with a calm sense of love and understanding. You spoke in softer tones and your hands edged away from your cups, deciding to creep closer to each other instead.
You stayed at the cafe for a good amount of time, deciding that it was better to stay inside than go out and adventure out into the (shudders) real world. This quiet space, personal to just you and Wonwoo was enough.
This was enough. It was a good start.
On your way out, to your surprise, Wonwoo got up first and made his way over to your side of the table. He waited for you to get up yourself and grab your belongings before shyly holding out his hand for you to take.
It took you a moment. A brief moment to realize that he did, in fact, want to hold your hand again. And when you did, the warm buzz in your heart didn't cease until you fell asleep that night.
He hummed quietly to himself as he accompanied you on your way back home. Keeping a loose, but firm grip on your hand, Wonwoo never let go of it until you had to part.
The day did not end with a kiss. No, not like a cheesy romance story where the two characters will kiss and make out on their very first date.
Life wasn't always like that; it isn't so picture perfect.
And you were both okay with that.
You bid each other goodbye with promises to meet up again and speak to each other that night. When the sun finally set, you laid on your bed, messaging Wonwoo as the mark on your ankle tingled with delight. The conversation was nothing but normal, just discussions about how the day went and how you were both dreading the upcoming Monday.
It wasn't long before you both decided that maybe it was time to go to bed. There will always be time in the future. You've found each other now, so you can always take things slow.
Before you ended things off for real, you sent each other a short goodnight text. His had a little heart beside it and it took you an extra second to even think of a reply.
You decided to send a heart back, along with a smiley face.
Yeah, things will be alright.

The hotel is loud and bustling with life as you walk through the doors. A group of teenagers dressed as various Naruto characters runs past you, arms back and backs bent in classic “Naruto run” stance. You weave through a group of My Hero Academia cosplayers to the registration table to get your convention pass.
Once the lanyard is around your neck, you beeline for the hotel’s attached Starbucks. You’ll need the caffeine if you want to survive your first anime convention alone. You’re supposed to be here with your best friend, but Jungkook decided to catch the flu two days ago. The four-day pass was non-refundable, and you weren’t about to lose out on $70 that you barely had to begin with. So, here you are, alone in a sea of over-excited cosplayers and exhausted parents, in one half of a couple’s costume, not even sure where to begin.
“Hi!” A group of teenagers dressed in various Studio Ghibli cosplays approaches you as you head to the escalator for the main convention floor. “You’re Chihiro, right?” A girl dressed as Princess Mononoke asks, gesturing to your pink bathhouse uniform.
“I am.” You offer a nervous smile, unsure where this is going.
“Can we take a picture with you?! We don’t have anyone from Spirited Away in our group!”
“Oh, yeah, sure.” They all crowd around you, squishing you between a Howl and a Kiki as they get a passerby to take a picture of you all. As soon as the camera shutter goes off a few times, they all thank you in a rush and are gone just as quickly, sprinting up the escalator and disappearing into the crowd.
Still reeling from how fast-paced the interaction was, you finally step onto the escalator and fish the convention schedule from your backpack to scan the upcoming events. An ask the cast panel for Demon Slayer could be interesting, not that you’re sure what that consists of, but that’s one of your favorite anime and you have to start somewhere.
Too absorbed in the schedule, you don’t notice the group of men crossing in front of you at the same time you step off the escalator until you bump into one of them, dropping the pamphlet.
“Shit, I’m sorry!” you reach down to grab the dropped paper, luckily still clutching your coffee safely to your chest.
“No problem, I got it,” One of the men bends at the same time as you and picks your pamphlet up. It’s not until you really look at him that you notice the black bob wig, blue pants, and white Haori.
“Oh! You’re Haku!”
He flashes you a dimpled smile as he takes in your outfit. “And you’re Chihiro. What are the odds.” You share a laugh, both of your hands grasping either side of the pamphlet longer than is probably necessary.
“Ahem.” A throat clear next to you has you both snapping out of the moment you share, remembering the other people he’s with. You make eye contact with a grey-haired man wearing the signature volleyball costume from Haikyuu. Checking the number on his jersey, you deduce he’s dressed as Sugawara. “This is a super cute moment and all, but the AMV contest starts in like fifteen minutes, and we need to get good seats. You can come with us if you want.” He proposes the last part to you.
“Ah, well I was going to go to an ask the cast panel.” Haku, Sugawara, and the other two men with them dressed as Ash Ketchum and Eren Yeager all give you the same pointed look.
“Is this your first anime convention?” Haku asks.
“Yes...how did you know?”
“No one who comes to these things often would ever put themselves through an ask the cast panel. It’s just a bunch of high schoolers being loud and obnoxious, pretending to be the characters. Total shit show.” Sugawara says matter of factly. “Were your friends really gonna have you suffer through that?”
“I’m actually here alone.” The four of them share a look before Haku turns back to you.
“That means you have to hang out with us. We can’t let you fall into any first-timer traps.” He shoots you another smile that’s all dimples, and you feel your pulse quicken. Even under the wig, he’s the most attractive man you’ve seen all day. Maybe even all your life.
“Okay.” You may have just met these men, but you don’t have any internal alarm bells going off about spending time with them. Your possible blooming crush on Haku aside, you don’t feel any negative vibes.
“Now that that’s settled let’s go! I’m not sitting in the back of the room for the contest!” Sugawara takes the lead as you all fall in line and follow him to one of the main meeting rooms.
As the day wears on, you’re more than happy that you decided to spend your time with your new friends instead of wandering alone, letting the four of them take you to various panels that they deem worthy of your time. Haku, whom you now know as Namjoon, is nothing but sweet to you all day. He explains that he and his friends have been going to anime conventions since high school, and now that they’re all seasoned college students, they still make it a point to attend. He mentions that he’s dressed as Haku because Jin, his roommate who’s the most handsome Erin Yeager you’ve witnessed at the convention, was supposed to be Chihiro but backed out last minute for the “cooler” cosplay instead.
Sugawara, who you find out is named Yoongi, is roommates with the fourth member of the quartet, Hoseok, dressed as a very compelling Ash Ketchum. When you compliment him, he flashes you the biggest, sunniest smile you’ve ever laid eyes on. After the AMV contest, they take you to a History of Horror in Manga discussion, much to Hoseok’s constant complaints. Around lunchtime, the five of you leave the hotel and cross the street to look for food. After Jin and Hoseok argue over sushi versus burgers they ultimately have you choose. You opt for chicken, much to everyone’s delight.
Out of everyone, you find yourself talking more one on one to Namjoon, finding out you have quite a few things in common. You both share a love for music and nature and are plant parents, although you tend to kill more plants than keep them alive. Namjoon promises he’ll give you tips on keeping your plant babies alive and grins at you for what feels like the fiftieth time of the day. Each time, your stomach does somersaults, and you feel your skin heat up.
At the end of the night, as you’re all leaving the 18+ Bad Fanfiction Reading panel, you almost don’t want to part ways.
“We can’t let you leave without getting your number!” Jin shoves his phone into your hands, demanding you put your digits in. The other men do the same, with Namjoon being last, hand shaking as he presents his phone. A series of four beeps come through on your phone, signifying the text messages from the group.
All of you are staying upstairs in the hotel rooms, so together, you head for the guest-only elevators as Yoongi announces the panels and events he’s planning for you all to go to tomorrow. Hoseok makes it a point to say that you’re included and that you’re now friends, therefore you have no choice but to spend the rest of the convention with them. Of course, you don’t object and agree to meet them downstairs tomorrow morning.
Your room is on the 8th floor, while their rooms are on the 10th, so you reach your floor first. Preparing to say your goodbyes for the night, you step out of the elevator and send a wave, but before the doors close, Namjoon is shoved out beside you.
“Joon will walk you to your room!” Hoseok calls as the doors close.
“Yeah, we’ll see you in a few, Namjoon!” Yoongi adds, then the doors are shut, and the elevator keeps going up.
Namjoon scratches the back of his neck sheepishly. “Uh, please lead the way. I’ll make sure you get to your room, okay.”
Feeling nervous yourself, you simply nod as he follows you the short distance to your room.
“This is me,” you move to the door, and you both stop in front of it. Seconds tick by with the two of you staring at one another while you try and come up with something to say.
“Today was great,” Namjoon says at the same time you do, making both of you chuckle. “Sorry, go ahead first.”
“I just wanted to say thank you for inviting me along with you all today. I had a lot of fun and didn’t think I could’ve done so if I was by myself.”
“Really?” Namjoon says, looking surprised. “I thought we would’ve been a little too high energy for you. You really had a good time? Today made you happy?”
“Yes. I am happy. Because I was able to meet someone like you.” You blurt the latter part out and watch as his eyes widen and a dark shade of red blossoms over his cheeks.
“I, uh, I’m glad you feel that way. I’m really happy I was able to meet someone like you too.” Namjoon’s eyes dart down to your lips momentarily before he lets out a cough. “Well, I’ll see you in the morning. Make sure to meet us downstairs at ten on the dot. If you’re late, Jin will probably nag you for the rest of the convention.” He hesitates momentarily, then reaches out to pull you into a hug. You instantly melt in his hold, inhaling the warm cinnamon scent of whatever Namjoon’s got on.
Your grip on his waist tightens at the same time his arms around your shoulders do. You’re not sure who pulls away first, but reluctantly, you do release each other. Namjoon gives you another goodbye, and then he’s shuffling down the hallway and back towards the elevator.
Once he’s around the corner, you let yourself into your room, his scent still in your nose, and the feeling of his toned arms around you still lingering. How you managed to run into a great group of friends on the first day, you don’t know, but you’re not about to question it. The only thing you worry about is how you can make your cosplay planned for day two as cute as possible, now that you’ve got someone to impress.
