Zap Apple
Nicknames: Zap, Zapster, Zapple, sport/champ/spark plug (by his moms)
12 years old
Cis Male, he/him
Earth Pony
Family: Applejack (ma), Rainbow Dash (mom), Autumn Glory and Cinnamon Cider (younger sisters)
Special Talent: Running, especially races
~
Zap Apple’s birth holds some superstition with a few members of the Apple family. His arrival lined up perfectly with the arrival of the zap apple harvest, and when he came out emblazoned with a rainbow mane, some believed that whatever magic caused the zap apples to bloom had also somehow created new life in the form of an Apple foal. Of course, when told that his pegasus mother also had a rainbow mane, a couple backed down, but there are some who still believe his existence was magically fated… not helped by the fact that neither of his mothers are entirely sure how he got there in the first place. It is just a little odd that two mares of different species would be able to conceive a child just days after discussing wanting one while the zap apple signs were forming.
Named after the electrically-charged rainbow apple that gave his family its reputation so long ago, Zap Apple is the first born of his parents, and there’s absolutely no mistaking that he’s his mothers’ son. He is energetic and feisty, with the only thing faster than his hooves being his big mouth. His mothers tend to take turns joking about whose qualities he got when he gets into trouble, though it’s more than clear that they wholeheartedly love and support him. He can often be seen racing against his ma, momma, and sisters through the orchards on slower days, if he isn’t serving time doing chores for his streak of over-competitive trash-talking.

Zap Apple Fun Facts:
- He doesn’t have the best reputation. A good number of adults view him as a troublemaking wild card, and a lot of his peers think he’s too chaotic and brazen. Ironically, he gets some of this reputation from aggressively defending the rest of his family’s odd quirks.
- He takes pride in being the spitting image of his late Granny Smith, being the only one of his siblings who knew her while she was still alive. He adored the kooky old lady, and follows even her strangest zap apple regiments to a T.
- He’s participated in every Running of the Leaves since the moment he could run. Even if it’s not technically a race, he is determined to win every single one. The officials have given up at this point.
- He has a weird draw to the Everfree Forest. Despite being dragged out of it many times and being scolded for wandering in it even more, he isn’t scared of it or any of the creatures within it. If anything, he’s fascinated by it.

Autumn Glory
Nicknames: Autumn, Glory, Shutterbug, Buttercup (by AJ)
9 years old
Cis Female, she/her
Pegasus
Family: Applejack (ma), Rainbow Dash (mom), Zap Apple (older brother), Cinnamon Cider (younger sister)
Special Talent: Nature photography
~
Autumn Glory’s birth was a lot more planned than Zap’s, thanks to a bit of magical assistance from none other than the Princess of Friendship herself, but that doesn’t mean her childhood was entirely smooth sailing. Applejack was rather protective of the newborn filly with her mother’s curly mane and tail, and by the time Rainbow finally convinced her wife that flying so high was normal and safe for baby pegasi, she had already lost some of the instinct to be airborne. It was hard for a filly who loved the sky and the ground equally to figure out where she wanted to be, but in a way, discovering her special talent in photography helped her capture the beauty of both. It was an unexpected talent, but in the end, it really didn’t matter as long as she was happy.
Named after an apple with hints of cinnamon and caramel and a season where leaves have vibrant colors, Autumn Glory personifies (ponifies?) the calm crispness of fall. She is laid-back and patient, with a poetic point of view on the world around her. One could mistake her easygoing nature as complacent from a distance, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. She isn’t willing to back down from a challenge easily, whether that be flying high above the clouds to get the perfect shot, or being the first to plop herself down next to a new classmate and insist on being friends.
~
Autumn Glory Fun Facts:
- She absolutely adores her still-living grandparents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles. Whenever she visits them in Cloudsdale, she’ll sit for hours and listen to their stories about Rainbow Dash, much to her mother’s embarrassment (since not all of their stories are exactly… flattering). They also conduct secret scrapbook picture trading.
- She’s also close with her aunt Apple Bloom, but for an entirely different reason. Being an expert in helping other ponies discover the meaning of their cutie marks, she was able to help Autumn understand why hers was so important to her, and was there to reassure her that just because her talent wasn’t inherently related to farming or flying, it didn’t mean she was any less of an Apple or a Dash.
- Rainbow Falls is her favorite place in the whole wide Equestrian world. The rainbow waterfalls are some of her favorite landmarks to take pictures of, not to mention the Traders Exchange and Hearth’s Warming Crafts Fair they host every year. She swears she wants to live there when she’s older.
- Despite her love for nature, she absolutely hates the snow. It’s cold, it buries all her favorite spots, it’s harder to fly and walk, the days are shorter, and she can’t get a good picture with all the white snow reflecting the sun and blinding her.

Cinnamon Cider
Nicknames: Cinnamon, Cider, Cinny, cinnamon sugar (AJ), the coolest baker ever, don’t tell Pinkie I said that (RD), Lil’ Blossom (Mac)
8 years old
Cis Female, she/her
Pegasus
Family: Applejack (Ma), Rainbow Dash (mom), Zap Apple (older brother), Autumn Glory (older sister)
Special Talent: Making comfort food and drinks
~
Similarly to her older sister, Cinnamon Cider was magically (and knowingly) conceived. But her mothers and sibling weren’t quite sure what to do about the anxious newborn at first, and often took turns with her. What could be just fine for her one day would be unimaginably stressful the next, and it took a lot of effort to find her comfort zone day by day. She was always fussy and always needing something else. Suffice it to say, Applejack and Rainbow Dash quickly decided that three kids would probably be their limit, but they still did everything in their power to make their little ball of nerves feel welcome and loved. In fact, they still do.
The youngest of the three Apple-Dash kids, Cinnamon Cider seems to jitter with nerves more often than not. She keeps to herself and stresses over seemingly minor things constantly. In a family of loud and proud ponies, Cinnamon Cider might seem like a bit of a strange case, but she’s really anything but. She is as strong-willed and stubborn as any Apple could ever be, and has just as much gumption as any Dash. Hers just so happen to veer off into self-contained panic more often than not. She strives to improve herself in as many ways possible, but tends to be a bit overly critical of herself and her abilities. Not much of a far cry from her family at all, if you really think about it.
~
Cinnamon Cider Fun Facts:
- She is especially close with her uncle, Big Macintosh. Not only do they have a mutual understanding of each other’s quiet natures, but she’s also a huge fan of his bombastic and wonderfully gaudy alter ego, Orchard Blossom. She’s her biggest fan, no contest.
- She has an interest in learning about her family’s histories, especially her ma’s. Even being as timid as she is, she gets some joy out of visiting Manehatten to see her Aunt and Uncle Orange, or in visiting Vanhoover to see the Pears still living up north, and so on so forth.
- She loves flying. Not competitive flying, like her Rainboom-causing mother, but steady gliding. Spreading her wings out on a windy day, letting the breeze carry her high above the ground. She finds it extremely calming, often using it as a moment to catch her breath and relax.
- She has very few and fleeting moments of assertiveness, but she’s often the one insisting her family gets enough food and water while working the fields. She’s cried enough tears to know the importance of proper hydration.
