the funniest thing in the world for me is when disgruntled fans call official adaptations ‘fanfiction’ because they don’t like it. like do you know what an adaptation is
#do you know what the word means.#you see when you sell the film/tv rights to your story that gives other people to right to *gasp* change things!#as soon as somehow pulls out that argument I know it's about to get hilarious#I've seen it for cql obvs but more recently the iwtv show. people got REALLY mad about ep5#even though everything about it made perfect sense#I was mad at gomens too but neilman was literally involved. it was very very different but it was still... an official adaptation#I hated pride and prejudice (2005) more than I ever hated anything and I truly think it doesn't convey the atory at ALL#but I'm not going to call it fanfiction I'm an adult I know how things work#and I'm not going to criticize people for liking it esp if they're not fans of the book#the movie is its own thing#I just wish it didn't call itself pride and prejudice when it's not#cor.txt
