👀sorry but I've gotta ask about treviso post game for the wip ask game
Hi! Don't apologize, thank you for asking! So, the Treviso post-game wip is about Lucanis and my Rook, Cassian, returning to Treviso after defeating the Gods. It's basically just a bunch of one-shots of them figuring stuff out together and rebuilding their lives after spending so long away from Treviso (Lucanis in the Ossuary and Cassian with Varric and Harding.) This unedited snippet is from a part in Lucanis' POV of helping Cassian with nightmares because you can't tell me either of them escaped without a plethora of bad dreams.
“Tearstone. When she wrapped you in the Blight.” He squeezed his eyes shut. “I couldn't get to you. And when I did, there was just—it was too much. Couldn't get you free.”
“It was only a dream, Rook. We are safe, together in Treviso, and Ghilan’nain is dead.” Lucanis murmured.
With a small, cracked hum, Cassian turned closer. His hand found Lucanis’ chest and curled there, over his heart. His fingers dug into Lucanis’ shirt like he was trying to steady himself.
It was silent for a moment, neither of them speaking. Lucanis let it be, only laying his hand over Cassian’s, pressing it down gently so that he could be sure that he could feel the thrum of his heart. A part of him itched to say something, to reassure Cassian, but he knew all too well that the simple comforts were sometimes all one needed, himself included; after they'd brought Cassian home from the Fade, all he had wanted was to listen to his voice, soft and soothing.
But even the reassuring sound of Cassian’s murmurs hadn't been enough to chase away all of Lucanis’ worries about facing the Gods. And it seemed like Lucanis’ heartbeat wasn't enough to pull Cassian from a nightmare now, because after a long, stretching minute, his face crumpled.
He sucked in a breath, lifting his free hand to scrub at his face, and tightened his grip on Lucanis’ shirt.
“Lucanis.” He pleaded.
Spite, having been watching warily in the back of Lucanis’ mind, stirred sharply. His magic rolled beneath Lucanis’ skin like pinpricks of static, before the familiar warmth of his wings unfurled into the air to curl around Cassian.
“Fix it. Make him better.” Spite snarled, feathers fluttering in agitation.
“I’m here.” Lucanis squeezed Cassian’s hand and purposefully ignored Spite’s presence. “I wouldn’t leave you.”
But Cassian either wasn’t convinced or just wasn’t listening, because he dropped his other hand to join the first, clutching at Lucanis like he was about to slip away. With a noise that sounded like he’d been punched in the gut, he pressed his forehead to Lucanis’ shoulder.
He was shivering, Lucanis realized. Shaking despite the warm summer air still left in the room from leaving the windows open that afternoon.
And when he spoke, Cassian’s voice was hoarse, muffled in Lucanis’ shirt but no less gut-wrenching for it. “You got blighted. Like Bellara. It—I couldn’t—”
Lucanis’ heart sank.
“Oh, Rook…” He said softly.

When did you post your first ever fic? 2019
First character you wrote for? Aziraphale, if we're going by what I posted. I probably did some others long before that (in the Harry Potter universe, almost certainly), but I don't remember specifics.
Main characters you are currently writing for? Rooster and Hangman from Top Gun: Maverick.
Characters you haven't written about before but plan on writing about soon? I have some Teyla and Ronon as part of an AR-1 thing that I've been thinking about for a while, so when I get back to SGA, they're waiting for me.
Fandoms you're currently writing for? Top Gun: Maverick. And I will eventually get back to SGA and MASH when the current obsession fades.
Platonic pairings you currently write for? Not much at the moment. I have both Rooster & Hangman and Hangman & Coyote I guess, but the last non-shippy thing I wrote was probably AR-1.
Romantic pairings you currently write for? Hangster, Macherison
Your top 3 tags on AO3 if you post there? Ficlet, Angst, Post-Canon
Current platform where you post your works? AO3 pretty much exclusively.
Snippet of the WIP you are currently working on?
The truth,” Amelia shrugged. “That I don’t know anything, that I hadn’t even known you knew Dr. Bradshaw existed.” Jake felt his shoulders relaxing. At least, until he looked over at his best friend, whose eyes were dancing with mischief. He pointed a glare at Javy and asked, “What did you tell her?” Javy was opening his mouth to answer when Amelia snorted and said, “All he would tell me is that you have a quote ‘mysterious and tragic history’ with him. When I asked him to elaborate, he followed up with ‘have you seen Bradshaw’s mustache? The mystery is why anyone would allow that kind of tragedy within 10 feet of them.’ He was absolutely no help.” “Thanks Javy. I’m glad to know you still think so little of my judgment. I’ll have you know that he did not, in fact, grow the mustache until after our divorce.”
Anyone should feel free to do this! I haven't been keeping track of who may or may not have been tagged.
#fic writing#tag game#sorry to everyone who isn't feral about tgm right now - i apparently have no brain space for anything else

Thanks for tagging me, @sew-birb!
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
20! Although over half of them are drabbles written for last year's whumptober, so I feel a little guilty counting them.
2. What is your total ao3 word count?
33,622 words. I. Don't actually know if that's a big number or a small number. It's definitely not novel sized, so I guess I haven't written a book yet.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Well, 10. But four of them are from my very early works that I'm kinda embarrassed by.
4. What are your Top 5 fics by kudos?
Two Disasters, One Bomb
SCP-3906
Booth's Past - I want to qualify these last two. They were the first fics I ever posted, and they really show their age. I keep them up because I believe in the concept of an archive, and because I think that showing growth in a writer is useful. But the reason they're so far up here is not because they're good, but because they're old.
two bombs and one goes off
if at first you don't succeed, try try again
5. Do you always respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I get few enough that I can, and I like the engagement. So I respond! I like talking to people
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending
This question actually made me realize that for all I love writing angst, I seem to have a habit of ending on at least a hopeful note. But thankfully I have one that I did manage to make very despairing! Set Them Up And Knock Them Down definitely ended the opposite of hopeful.
7. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?
Oh buddy, I almost exclusively write crossovers. I guess the craziest is also Set Them Up And Knock Them Down, but that's mostly because no one cares about Farscape anymore except me and a couple of my friends.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope! I am barely known.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
The closest I got to smut was a couple fade to blacks between Tim Stoker and Daniel Jacobi, which incidentally is another fun crossover of mine.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, again, I'm barely known.
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Sort of? I've helped write fic with people, though it's really theirs in the end. And I've edited fic, though that's something else entirely.
12. What’s your all time favorite ship?
UUUHH. It really really depends on the fic and even then it varies from moment to moment. If the ones I've written? I guess I'm proud of Tim/Jacobi.
13. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Oof. Okay, so it's not up on AO3 anymore, but I wrote a fic for Bullets Over Broadway. The musical, not the movie. You know, the one that ran for like a week because it sucked so much. I saw it in previews with my highschool art club, and wrote the fic sentence by sentence on the bus back to the hotel. It got passed around the bus and read out loud, because we were all nerdy, horny teenagers who wanted to read about the mobster fucking the playwright.
That one was fade to black too because I genuinely cannot actually write smut.
14. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
A crossover with Wolf 359. I refuse to pick beyond that.
Tagging uuuuuuuuh @electricshoop @ophelia-thinks @ anyone else I know who writes fic? I can't remember who's tumblrs link to who's AO3 handles
