#I wanted to draw new outfits for Gaara and Lee

Suna filler characters

I kind of like the Suna fillers as a whole and they introduce some useful side characters to fill out fics, if necessary. They’re hard to keep track of though!

Matsuri’s team: 

Matsuri: Originally an Academy student in part 1, she was mentored by Gaara in the use of a rope dart, the weapon she chose. Initially, she was terrified of bladed weapons due to witnessing her parents being killed. A genin during the new chuunin exams. A chuunin during Gaara’s kidnapping. A big fan of Gaara, she reacts violently to any perceived slightly toward him. 

Yukata: Matsuri’s teammate. An airhead, long dark hair. She is also a Gaara fan. 

Mikoshi: Matsuri’s other teammate. Glasses man. 

Shira’s team: 

Shira: Like Lee, he is unable to use ninjutsu or genjutsu. Because of this, he was banned from even attending Academy under Rasa. However, he continued physical training on his own, until he ended up accidentally destroying a boulder that helped prevent erosion along the border of the village. After testing him, Gaara changed the village policies to allow him to become a genin. They also became training partners, to improve Gaara’s taijutsu. He is extremely loyal to Gaara and also philosophical and forgiving, even toward those that wrong him. His parents live near the northern border. 

Sen and Yome: Shira’s genin teammates and also his childhood friends. Unlike other children, they didn’t bully him for being unable to use gen/ninjutsu. They also played with Temari as kids. Sen is very cautious and specializes in genjutsu. She uses fans with fur decoration along the edge. Yome’s specialty is her extreme eyesight. She can see great distances through the reflection in water droplets as well as minute details up close. Shira helped teach her how to use her abilities in close combat. Yomi apparently has a thing for Shira.  

Ameno’s team: 

Ameno: A medic nin. She acts rather calculating, but she has strong morals about injuring and heals everyone her team attacks afterwards. She uses “medical suiton” techniques that form animals or parts of animals out of water but with various properties of medical jutsu. 

Koji and Shishio: Her teammates. Koji can form weapons around his fists out of sand. Shishio can polarize sand to use for tracking and camouflage. 

Saya’s team: 

Saya: Giant twintails. Uses a doll through puppet strings, but her actual specialty is Puppet Imitation jutsu, which is similar to the Yamanaka Mind Transfer but requires hair as a medium. She usually has a human size puppet pose as her real body while she shapeshifts into the small doll the puppet carries. She can also create “sand puppets.” 

Sana and Mamushi: Her teammates.The dude can do the hidden snake hand technique. The girl calls Saya “nee-sama.” She can control sand to some extent. 

The villains: 

Houichi: The biwa priest. He studied Bunpuku’s teachings and can draw out bijuu from hosts by... closing tenketsu and agitating the bijuu chakra to the surface? Something like that. 

Fugi: An “old soldier” from Suna. Has pointy ears and a Chinese outfit. He wanted to extract Shukaku from Gaara (and seal in a teapot). Committed seppuku after Gaara explained his reasoning for changing and becoming Kazekage. 

Various bullies: 

Sajin, Mujin, Mijin: Sajin is the stripe face that tries to interfere with Neji’s plan for the 1st exam. He can use a jutsu to create sand writing. Mijin is the one that was chosen to be used as decoy. 

Goji’s team: I didn’t note the names of the others, but these are the ones who resent Shira for getting attention for the Kazekage. Goji is the one that can create a sandstorm that generates electromagnetic discharge leading to a genjutsu. There is also a second team led by a very feminine archer with purple hair. 

That one girl with the ponytail that was mean to Gaara also bullied Shira lol. 

The council: 

There are 11 seats (+Kazekage) shown in the anime. 

Baki: Obviously, but he’s generally on the council. 

Ebizo: Chiyo’s brother. He didn’t attend the council meetings in the anime, but in the novel, he is the head of the council. 

Ikanago and Tojuro: These two are novel only, so I only read about them on the wiki. Toujuurou is the evil one who wants to take over as head of the council once Ebizo retires. 

Yura: This is the guy with one eye covered by hair. Sasori’s sleeper agent. During the new exam, he pretended to support Gaara’s decision, but subtly incited others to try and assassinate him. 

Goza, Joseki, Ryusa, Sajo: The extra dudes. Goza has a full mustache and beard, and focuses on the dignity of the village. Joseki dislikes Gaara. Ryusa has thick eyebrows and didn’t want to elect a new Kage when Gaara was abducted. Sajo has squinty eyes. Apparnetly, their names come from the 3rd databook. 

I need to rewatch that one filler about the puppeteer Gaara makes friends with and the 4th war stuff with Maki and Pakura too...

Hello, you wonderful people!  We just hit 100 followers!  Thank you so much for helping us build our little GaaLee community here on this blog.  We are hoping to help create a more positive environment within the fandom and appreciate each of your help in doing so!

To celebrate, we wanted to make a list of 100 things Gaara and Lee love about each other, 50 each from their own perspective.  We hope you enjoy and would love to hear any additional thoughts you have!

Gaara loves Lee

1. The little frown he gets when he’s determined about something.

2. The way his hair clings to his forehead after a really good training session.

3. How he lets Gaara help do his bandages in the morning.

4. The little squeak he does when he gets nervous.

5. How he keeps his leg warmers on all the time, even in the hot Suna desert.

6. His willingness to try new things.

7. The fact that he was the first person to get through his sand barrier.

8. That he’s not scared of the sand regardless of what he has seen it do and how it has harmed him.

9. His understanding when it comes to Gaara’s past traumas.

10. The way he cups Gaara’s cheeks when he kisses him.

11. The passion he always has in his eyes, regardless of what he’s talking about.

12. The way the kids in both Suna and Konoha run up to him any time they see him. (Lee is very good at piggy back rides)

13. How he takes care of Gaara when he’s sick, even though he gets really cranky.

14. The way he says “I love you” over and over again, but the phrase never loses it’s meaning.

15. How well he fits in with Gaara’s siblings, even though they are so different.

16. How he let’s Gaara spoon him so he can protect Lee as they sleep.

17. The way he kisses him so gently even though he could easily snap a much stronger man in half.

18. How he constantly begs Gaara to let him bench press him, regardless of how many times he says no.

19. The feeling of strong muscles bench pressing him with ease after Gaara has given in.

20. The way he holds him and soothingly whispers to him after Gaara wakes up from a nightmare, sometimes multiple times a night.

21. How he knows that Gaara doesn’t really sleep, but wants him to cuddle him in bed at night anyway.

22. How he has trained for years and years and never stops training, regardless of his challenges and setbacks.

23. How his heart is full of love for every person, which he never holds back.

24. The sincerity in his voice when he reassures Gaara that he holds no grudges against what happened when they were younger.

25. The light pink stain on his cheeks after Gaara kisses him.

26. The fluid way his body moves as he fights.

27. The way he insists that Gaara stretch with him every night, regardless of the fact that Gaara is not flexible in any way.

28. The little hand massages he gives him when his fingers start to cramp after writing one too many mission reports.

29. The silly doodles he draws onto the letters he sends Gaara.

30. The respect he shows for his position as Kazekage despite their relationship status.

31.The way he pushes his hair off his forehead when he's really sweaty.

32. How easily he forgives (though sometimes it’s a stressor)

33. The way he lights up when he tells a story, no matter how many times he’s already told it.

34. He always makes a delicious meal for Gaara, even though he would be fine with curry every night. 

35. He always knows exactly where the tension is in Gaara’s body just by looking at him and is very good at easing it out. 

36. He allows Gaara time for himself when he needs it. 

37. The way his chest rumbles when he is holding Gaara and talking to him. 

38. The many scars and divots in Lee’s skin. 

39. How he’ll come home for lunch while training and Gaara can sometimes catch him with the top of his jumpsuit off. 

40. The way he stretches for so long before bed, but always makes sure he’s there to cuddle Gaara to sleep (when Gaara convinces Lee that he doesn’t need to stretch, too.)

41. He makes the best cup of tea in the village. 

42. Regardless of how extravagant his gifts usually are, they’re extremely thoughtful and personal. 

43. How fascinated he is with Gaara’s pierced ears, though he doesn’t wear his earrings anymore. 

44. The way he smiles as Gaara is kissing him. 

45. The way he mutters to himself when he’s trying to figure something out. 

46. His sleepy “Mornin’, Gaara” while he yawns and stretches after waking up, even if it was just a nap. 

47. How being held tightly by Lee calms Gaara’s anxiety. 

48. The freckles that stretch across his face when he gets a lot of sun. 

49. That even though Gaara is fairly non-expressive, compared to other people, Lee can always tell how he’s feeling.

50. The way he kisses the back of his hand and stares lovingly into his eyes, no matter what they’re doing.  He is always deeply, deeply in love with Gaara.

Lee loves Gaara

1. The quiet strength he possesses.

2. How his Kage robes always smell like him, even when he’s not wearing them.

3. The way he stretches on his tip toes to initiate a kiss.

4. The way he prefers to hold Lee as they sleep so he can feel like he’s protecting him.

5. His fierce devotion to those he has created a bond with, including his village.

6. The little snort he does when Kankuro makes him laugh.

7. The way his coarse hair feels between Lee’s fingers.

8. The dip between his neck and his collarbone where Lee’s face fits perfectly.

9. How he always puts up with Lee’s emotions, ever changing as they are.

10. The gentle way he takes care of his plants.

11. The reverent look he gets on his face when he visits his mother’s grave.

12. The way he grips onto Lee’s hand on their nightly walks.

13. His graceful strength when he fights.

14. The way he spoils Shikadai, then refutes the accusations that he does.

15. The way his cheek squishes slightly when he rests it in his palm while working.

16. His dry humor that makes Lee laugh until he considers it ab training.

17. The way his nose gets red when he’s cold or embarrassed.

18. His ability to easily rival Lee when they spar.

19. His willingness to train with Lee, even though it’s hard for him to fight him again.

20. The way he snores lightly when he’s very tired.

21. How he tucks a flower gently behind Lee’s ear while rattling off fifty different ways it can be used practically.

22. His need to always ask his older sister for advice.

23. The gentle touch of his fingers as they trace the road maps that are Lee’s scars.

24. The way the sunlight criss crosses on his face when he’s wearing his straw hat.

25. The smell of dirt and sun that comes off of Gaara when he comes back after spending time in his greenhouse

26. His urgent tone of voice when he’s worried about Lee.

27. The elegance and grace he maintains when in his meetings as the Kazekage.

28. How he then complains to Lee about the annoying council members, doing terrible impressions of them until they are both laughing.

29. How he lets Lee press his seal into the wax of his official Kazekage letters.

30. The way his love kanji creases when he’s frustrated (which Lee then has to kiss repeatedly until it’s smoothed back down.)

31. That he rubs tiger balm into Lee’s aching muscles each night.

32. The small, secret smile he reserves only for Lee.  Sure, he smiles in public as well, but not like this.

33. How he scolds Lee when he trains for too long.

34. The consistently peaceful and comforting aura that Gaara has.

35. The deep black rings around his eyes that seem like they could smudge off at any moment, but never do.  

36. His bluntness.

37. How open and loving he is to Lee’s adopted family, as overwhelming as they may be at times.

38. That he’s admitted his past mistakes and is working to make up for them.

39. How he’ll walk around in a simple outfit at home, making things seem more domestic and natural than one would expect from a relationship between a deadly shinobi and an equally as deadly foreign leader.

40. How he constantly reminds Lee to drink water (”You live in a desert now, Lee, you’re going to pass out from dehydration.”)

41. The way he constantly needs to be touching Lee while they sleep, even when it’s hot.  He’ll hold their pinkies together, or throw a foot over Lee’s leg.  

42. The small and simple declarations of love he leaves for Lee around the house when he knows he’ll have a busy day.

43. The empathy he shows everyone, regardless of what they have done.

44. How he never uses the sand armor when they’re at home together.

45. The high pitched, squeaky hiccups he gets when he’s had one too many drinks at a village celebration.

46. The way he leans into Lee anytime they are sitting next to each other.

47. The way he stares intently into Lee’s eyes anytime they are having a conversation.

48. The glare that he has perfected, but never works on Lee.  (Usually Lee stares back until one of them cracks a smile)

49. His slight pout when Lee gets up to train every morning.

50. The fact that he has chosen Lee to be his most important person.
