Hi! So what about BAU!Reader and Spencer are fresh into their relationship. Like weeks into it. Reader is just as shy and nerdy as Spencer was in early seasons. (This can be any season of Spencer) anyways it’s Spencer’s birthday and Spencer begs reader to not buy anything for him so instead she knits him a replica of Dr. Who scarf because she remembers him mentioning to Garcia he was trying to find the perfect replica for his Dr. Who cosplay (7x23 when Garcia and Spencer go to that convention) so reader, who never watched it before, watches the entire series while knitting the scarf bc she knows how much Spencer loves Dr. Who and she wanted to understand his interests more. Maybe she makes herself a matching scarf or hand warmers in the process. And then she’s like “I have a ton of questions about the series though” and pulls out a notebook of her questions as she’s asking them Spencer realizes she’s THE ONE and it’s all just fluff and two nerds in love 🥰
I've never consumed any content about Doctor Who so I'm sorry if this is a bit vague BUT the idea was so cute so I had to give it a shot x
You and Spencer were both nerds, it’s what drew you two together and keeps you both joined at the hip. Even though you two had been together for less than eight weeks, both of you had your eyes on one another for a good while. When mutual feelings were finally admitted the only thing different from before was that you got to hold hands and kiss each other on the cheek comfortably without having to worry if it’ll make the other person uncomfortable.
Spencer’s birthday was coming up and with Spencer being the way that he is, he was adamant about not letting you splurge on his big day. You were a bit annoyed by it because a part of you did want to go out and treat your special boy the way he deserved to be treated. However, you did not want to argue with him so you decided to get a bit creative.
Long before the relationship had been established, Spencer had talked about how he was searching for a replica of the Doctor Who scarf for his cosplay. Knitting was something you had learned before, although it had been quite a few years since you last picked it up, you decided to try it out again and hopefully make Spencer’s face gleam with joy.
After digging out your old knitting needles and yarn you looked up some tutorials online to familiarize yourself with your old hobbie. A few hours and some messy pathworks later, you managed to remind yourself of how everything went down and began work on the scarf. Luckily the pattern wasn’t difficult at all and as you began working away you thought about looking up the show and getting a feel for what Spencer talks about all the time.
After many weeks and countless trips to the store to get more yarn the scarf was finished and you were both excited and nervous to hand it over to Spencer. A million thoughts ran in your head as he undid the bow on the carefully packed present and removed the scarf from the paper, his eyes went wide and he was speechless for a whole minute.
“Y/N, how did you…”
“Surprise?” you chuckled and Spencer was still speechless, he ran his thumbs over the carefully knitted garment. He wrapped it over his neck and walked over to the mirror to have a closer look, his heart was melting over how you took so much time and effort to make him this. He walked over to you and placed his arms around you in a bone crushing hug which only made you laugh.
“I’m so glad you like it.”
“Like it? That doesn’t even come close to how I feel about it, I love it.”
Spencer held your cheeks as he kissed you and as you parted a thought came to your mind.
“Oh also, I watched a bit of the show!”
“Really? Did you like it?”
“Mhm, I have a few questions though, firstly…”
As you went on about your questions regarding the show Spencer stared at you while a smile crept on his face. He loved how you took interest in anything he was fascinated in, and in return he would do it with your interests as well, it was one of the ways you both showed love to one another.
Spencer guided you back to the couch, pulling you to his lap as he cleared his throat and explaining the questions you just layed out for him. You looked up at him and nodded along as he got into the topic and you were reminded of one of the reasons why you fell for him in the first place, his passion, and that same passion grew now that he had someone like you in his life.

Fics about SecUnit 3 to Read Before We Get All Our Headcanons Jossed
Three! SecUnit 3! System Collapse comes out in one week and it seems like Three will feature prominently!
Three has been the subject of so much speculation and fascination for the fandom. We have a lot of different ideas about who it may become and who it might want to be.
Before all of that gets debunked by the new book, here's a rec list and roundup of some of the excellent fics that center Three!
-
Ficlets About Three and Murderbot Figuring Out How To Interact With Each Other
"Feedlog" by OnlyAll0Saw. 599 words. NR, Multi.
ART is a bit of a bully on the feed. MB is having none of it.
A well-done codefic that imagines the rocky early days of Murderbot, Three, and ART all figuring out how to get along with each other.
-
"Murder Mode Modules" by FlipSpring. 948 words. G, Gen.
3 what the fuck is ‘Murder Mode Modules, Do Not Touch Except For Situations That Necessitate Lots Of Murder?'
Hilarious, great voice, and surprisingly emotional for such a short space and silly tone :') Two excellent podfics!
-
"Real Things" by ArtemisTheHuntress. 715 words. G, Gen.
Three admits that it doesn't understand the appeal of fictional media.
This one's mine :) Murderbot and Three discuss media. There's a podfic!
-
Meatier One-Shots about Three Contemplating Its Identity, Who It Is, And What It Wants Now
"pink and green" by CompletelyDifferent. 5,100 words. G, Gen.
During a diplomatic trip to the university's home system to better establish the newly-formed treaty with the Preservation Alliance, Three tries to figure out who it is. Between exploring new hobbies and its sense of fashion, it attempts to figure out what its relationship with Murderbot 1.0 is, precisely. (Murderbot 1.0 ignores this, until it doesn't).
Hot Springs Episode! CompletelyDifferent @elexuscal writes character interactions SO well.
-
"Uncatalogued and Uncategorized" by lick. 3,033 words. G, Gen.
SecUnit 3 discovers that a hot shower is a good place to work out tangled thoughts.
I loooove this one and return to it regularly. The introspectio makes it a fantastic balance of character study, past trauma, and total confusion of what to do now with itself and its life. Includes a podfic by the author!
-
"Unacceptable Topics of Conversation" by lick. 4,500 words. Teen & Up, Gen.
Murderbot gives SecUnit 3 a haircut. They discuss the governor module.
lick does it again! The feelings are so fraught, the conversation held so gingerly.
-
Long, Plot-Heavy Stories About Three Finding Itself In The Universe
"Heuristic Analysis" by thefourthvine. 11,000 words. G, Gen.
Three makes some choices.
Three travels to Mihira with ART and its crew, gets involved in an AI Rights related mystery, and, as advertised, makes some choices. Well-written with some interesting worldbuilding concepts about the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland!
-
"Seeking Safety" by petwheel. 57,000 words. Teen & Up, Gen.
Three assumes a new identity on Preservation, only to discover someone wants to kill it. To figure out who and why, Three has to delve into secrets from Preservation's past.
A plotty mystery, suspenseful and extremely creative, with some bold and unique takes on Preservation's history - and how Three can fit in.
-
"Function" by FigOwl. 65,000 words. Teen & Up, Gen.
"I have worked assignments solo before, and I have gotten used to the absences of SecUnit 01 and SecUnit 02. But I have not reconciled myself to the absence of Murderbot 2.0, though I know it is not logical. 2.0 made its choices, and fulfilled its purpose perfectly, and it seemed satisfied with that. I wish that I had any amount of such certainty and resolve." The continuing adventures of SecUnit03. How does a newly freed SecUnit make sense of everything without having consumed 35,000 hours of media for context?
Three goes off on its own self-actualization adventure after Network Effect.
-
Three On Preservation
"words left behind" by torpidgilliver. 4,400 words. G, Gen.
"How do you stand it?" Dr. Gurathin's tone is slow and even when he asks, "Stand what?" - SecUnit 3 shares its feelings with someone who might understand.
Three meets Gurathin. Also, a cat. Delightfully soft and gently sad.
-
"Social Competition" by scheidswrites. 2,100 words. G. Gen.
It's been a while since the last attempted murder/kidnapping, and life is good. Everyone is gathered for a celebration on the Mensah Family Farm. The rogue SecUnits invent a new sport. Drs Mensah, Gurathin, and Overse talk about work on their day off.
SecUnit sports! Murderbot and Three bonding without being too awkward about it! I love this.
-
"The Tree That Owns Itself" by BoldlyNo. 865 words. G, Gen.
There is a tree in the FirstLanding University Botanical Gardens that Murderbot is not thrilled about.
Murderbot and Three have conflicting feelings about a tree.
-
Miscellaneous But Also Worth Highlighting
"As Your Legal Counsel" by i_have_loved_the_stars_too_fondly. 1,000 words. G, Gen.
Pin-Lee informs Three of its options and legal status, should it choose to come to Preservation.
This one is so fun and sweet! Directly after Network Effect, Pin-Lee talks to Three about its options. Three is a little overwhelmed. Two podfics of this one, one by me :) Also @ilovedthestars your AO3 name is hard to type
-
"Past the Breakers" by Thylacine_Wishes. 5,300 words. G, Gen.
When Three is badly injured protecting ART's crew on a mission, Murderbot finds itself disagreeing with the safety protocols that it had written. It was supposed to be the SecUnit meat shield, not Three. It doesn't have time to figure out how it feels about that before it's diving in (literally) to rescue Three and maybe coming to terms with some things along the way.
Action! Adventure! Edge-of-your-seat drama written SO well! Almost drowning! Murderbot caring about Three!!!!
-
"Team of Three" by Lillow. 5,500 words. G, no category.
How Three of three became Three of many.
The tags say it best: the real team was the friends we made along the way. Or is it the real friends are the teammates we make?
Either way, Three finds a team, and people it belongs with.

happy ww, I am so glad you are back :)
I didnt have any unique qs except I was rereading the archivist a few days ago (as one does!!) and it got me thinking how in your fics and late season domesticity, they just...love & accept each other, as people. So. What are the activities that you think Sam/Dean have zero interest in individually but do it for each other? Esp post 15.19!
happy wincest wednesday-on-a-friday! <3 I'm partially back at least, haha. The things, they are Busy, but it's good to check in with the buds. :)
You know late-seasons domesticity is my jam! And people doing things they don't necessarily like but will bear for the sake of the beloved is my ultimate jam, or indeed preserves! My marmalade!
Leaving naughty options that have been discussed before to the side -- let's do a random hc for each --
Dean finds true crime weird as shitttt. Our lives our true crime, why are you consuming it as a hobby?? Sam starts out trying to claim that it's work-related, and also did you know that we got covered on this podcast when the serial killer Leviathan-- ? But then with the benefits of late-seasons casualness he just shrugs and says, what? I dig it. And so Dean does occasionally deign to let Sam play the podcast at full volume in the car on the long drive from Kansas to Augusta ME, and because he is who he is, he inevitably gets involved in the characters etc and wants to hear the next ep. But then he remembers that those are real people, with real tragedies, and gets an uncomfy little -- ick -- but Sam's focused and fascinated and Dean puts away the ick and goes, well. If the killer ever shows up again as a ghost or demon, the Winchesters will know ever single detail of how to handle it.
Sam suffers more than Christ for his brother-best-friend-husband, lol. Every day is another listen through of the Black Album or a stop at a diner that last passed a health inspection in 1979 or what Dean thinks passes for singing in the shower. But so what. All the benefits of being Dean's brother outweigh the horrors. (Most of the time.) One in the post 15.19 era that he truly just Does Not Like is Dean's obsession with trying to hit all the restaurants he can on the Diners Drive-ins and Dives list. I mean jesus christ -- not only were they often sketch greasebombs to start with, now that they're famous they're even worse, and crowded, and he does not want a triple-stack waffle-and-fried-chicken heart attack on a plate -- ! But Dean grins so big, and honestly, if anyone's earned cholesterol Sam guesses it's Dean. So he orders whatever's least gross on the menu and resigns himself to another afternoon of trying not to watch Dean eat. (But he will, after enough cajoling, take a bite of whatever the star thing is on the menu. Sometimes it's good.)
#happy wincest wednesday#answers#i got re-busy sorry#but now i have an hour of brain space to devote to ya bois#and you reread the archivist!!!! hooray <333

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
Well, folks, the time has come for me to bid holiday movie tracking adieu.
This was never anything but a (more-than-slightly-weird) hobby which, quite honestly, became overwhelming several years ago, when the TV Christmas movie explosion made keeping track of the annual influx of holiday content way more time consuming than I ever bargained for. But, something—for instance, needing a distraction from a global pandemic, combined with a Type-A personality that loathes leaving a job left undone, plus a few fellow Christmas movie-loving online pals I'd made along the way—always kept me going…Until now.
As someone congenitally unable to do anything halfway, I've felt increasingly uninterested in keeping up with all the ins-and-outs of holiday movie production for a while now. That, combined with Twitter's increasing lack of usability, has led me to the decision it's time to rest my paws, and hang up ye olde Santa hat.
In real life, I'm just a boring, stay-at-home mom who used to work in (non-Christmas movie) TV production. I started keeping a holiday movie list for a few like-minded pals, and when they wanted to share it with a few others, posted it online for easy access. What started as a couple updates annually (a did-you-see-this-article? sort of thing), morphed into a year-round hobby, and then something more akin to unpaid, part-time employment—not that making this a job was ever a goal. (In fact, I’ve studiously avoided being public and declined the very small amount of opportunities people have offered.)
While I did (very) occasionally hear a few things from folks I'd become friendly online with, none of that is what I shared publicly. Everything I posted was gleaned from publicly available news stories, press releases, IMDb listings, production info, casting notices, and social media posts. Though there was some dot connecting on my part, it's all stuff absolutely anyone half-decent at research and logic could easily find and readily duplicate. (TL;DR I’m not special, and never thought I was.)
Thanks to those who were so kind to me over the years, and all who share my fascination with cheesy holiday fare. I will most definitely still be watching, and if Twitter Blue Sky still exists this holiday season, quite possibly will return there to share what I loved, and what I didn't, but I'll no longer be keeping a holiday movie list, with my apologies to the twos of folks this likely disappoints.
For what it's worth (likely, not that much) I've updated all the upcoming lists—theatrical and TV, for 2023 and 2024—one last time (UPDATE: Well, now that the season is upon us did my best to keep the 2023 schedule up-to-date, least as of November 15, as a final hurrah), with what I know, as of today. There are, I’m positive, typos and errors and things that will be out of date as soon as tomorrow. But there it is, the end.
Cheers, and a very merry everything to all!
💛 Sleepy Kitty Paws

So you are going to make a fanfic about Pokemon, huh.
Are you a pokemon fan? Or you known about the franchise enough? or is a case of you, waking up one day and thinking:" I'm going to make a Pokemon Fan-Fic!" And started to consume media from it in order to make a story?
I was a child in 1998.
During that initial invasion of Pokemon into the West, when Pokemon was far more than simply the "most profitable media property in the world" that it is today, when it was a tidal wave phenomenon that swept away an entire continent, I was something of a Pokemaniac. I had Blue Version, Red Version, Yellow Version, Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Puzzle League, Hey You Pikachu. I had (and still have) every single card from the first three TGC sets, included the oh-so-vaunted holographic Charizard card. I had Pokemon figurines, I had toy Poke Balls, I had Pokemon stickers, I had Pokemon stamps, I had Pokemon clothes, I had Pokemon strategy guides, I had Pokemon choose your own adventure novels. I had the then-complete runs of both Pokemon Adventures and Electric Tale of Pikachu (I vastly preferred the latter). I would wake up early every day to watch the Pokemon anime on TV. I went to Pokemon The First Movie opening day and remember walking into a theater packed to the brim only to hear a man scream—to my delight and assuredly my mother's horror—"SEATS IN THE FRONT ROW!"
Of course, it's been 25 years since 1998. I've played most of the mainline games since then (GSC, RSE, DPP, SuMo, and recently SV). I've seen a few of the endless array of movies. For some reason I watched the entire SuMo anime. So yeah, I still like Pokemon.
Is it my favorite thing ever? No. The unfortunate reality is the games are pretty formulaic and often have questionable design choices. It's not like Mario or Zelda, other nostalgic Nintendo series, where the devs put their heart and soul into each new mainline installment.
But the fundamentally fascinating elements of its world continue to interest me. I've always seen the Pokemon world as a near-future nigh-utopia, clean and neat and orderly, with large swaths of the population free to pursue their hobbies rather than slave away at some useless job. I've always wanted to delve into such a world narratively, as opposed to the endless dystopias that seem to clog contemporary fiction.
Chicago was written as a kind of critical response to To the Stars, which is a utopian story that glosses over the steps taken to reach utopia. I wanted to peer more deeply at how a world akin to that in To the Stars might actually be created, the kind of political turmoil and upheaval required to eventually integrate the panacea to mankind's ill—magic—into functional society. A Pokemon story would instead be about the utopia itself. What does it mean for society that children are not simply allowed but encouraged to leave home at 10 to pursue a vague, unstructured path to become what is basically a competitive sports athlete? What has had to happen to society for such a thing to be not simply okay, but preferred? And what does it mean for that society's future development, especially considering a world where rapid evolution of generally symbiotic non-human creatures is possible? And why, in this peaceful and low-scarcity world, are there so many insane doomsday death cults essentially seeking to usher in the apocalypse?
There are two works of literature that particularly influenced the direction of my idea for a Pokemon fanfic. The first is Eyeless in Gaza (unfortunately topical title) by Aldous Huxley of Brave New World fame. Gaza is a mostly autobiographical story touching on a variety of topics, and one chapter near its end involves the main character traveling to Central America, where he meets a strange, idealistic man named Dr. Miller. Dr. Miller espouses many ideas about anthropology, especially ones critical of or antithetical to British imperialist pseudo-scientific anthropology: "An anthropologist is a person who studies men," he says, "but you prefer to deal with bugs. I'd call you an entomologist [...] the only remedy is for the bug-hunter to throw his bayonets away and treat the bugs as though they were human beings." But the most interesting thing he talks about, the thing that has stuck with me more than anything else in the otherwise mediocre novel, is soccer.
"But [football is] the greatest English contribution to civilization," said the doctor. "Much more important than parliamentary government, or steam engines, or Newton's Principia. More important even than English poetry. Poetry can never be a substitute for war and murder. Whereas games can be. A complete and genuine substitute."
Dr. Miller envisions a world where competitive sports replace the destructive and combative elements of humanity; he teaches soccer to small Mexican tribes as a way to settle their differences instead of war. What does a utopian society look like that has replaced conflict with competitive sport at a grand, worldwide scale? In our world, the Olympics are often spoken of in similar terms, but Pokemon appears to have actually accomplished this lofty goal, to the point that becoming a trainer at 10 is more important than standard education. By setting my fanfic at a prestigious, global tournament, I become perfectly posed to explore this question...
The other point of inspiration comes from Underground, Haruki Murakami's nonfiction account of the 1995 Tokyo sarin gas attacks committed by the cult Aum Shinrikyo. The book contains numerous interviews with both survivors of the attacks themselves and former members of the cult, and ends with Murakami's essay on how the Japanese social psyche allowed this event to occur. Describing the cult members he interviewed, he says:
To all of them I posed the same question, that is, whether they regretted having joined Aum. Almost everyone answered: "No, I have no regrets. I don't think those years were wasted." Why is that? The answer is simple—because in Aum they found a purity of purpose they could not find in ordinary society.
This idea of "purity of purpose unfound in ordinary society," what does that mean in a society like Pokemon's? In a utopian society, where nearly all needs are met? Where sports replaces conflict?
Anyway, I've started to veer off topic, so I'll cut it short there. I'm incredibly excited for this project, so I hope all of you decide to give it a read when I finish!

for the matchups, please? this is very long oops :^)
What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why?
magnolia by laufey!!! love the first verse, specifically, "stars in her eyes, handpicked from the skies." i just think it's very pretty :))
What is your Enneagram type?
type 4w5 (looking at the other submissions this is very popular?!)
Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
the youtuber strange æons has this video where she does a deep dive on an old harry potter fanfiction writer called ms.scribe, i think it's really fascinating stuff!
Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend.
i don't know if this technically counts as an imaginary friend? there was this one time i found a little praying mantis and gave him a whole backstory (he was a legendary samurai!!) and pretended to sword fight with him. i think about that often
What is your go-to way to fall asleep?
get snuggled up in bed and consume content til i pass out wwww
If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?)
i named myself after my favorite artist :))
What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why?
caelums first audio! it was the first redacted audio i listened to ever and im very attached to it just for that
What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)
james! not really into him, he doesn't stand out to me
Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to.
bee and puppycat! i can even mimick puppycats voice hehe (if you haven't seen it, puppycat makes mechanical beep sounds, sorta like animal crossing noises instead of talking) i just find the concept of it charming, a girl who feels isolated from everyone else finding a magical little pet that takes her on grand adventures. the subtleness of its commentary i find really appealing. also if we're just talking about aesthetics it's all soft colors and stars, very pretty and very my thing.
Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend?
asher!! he's funny and energetic but also very relatable to me, which are qualities I like in a friend :))
Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? (For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.)
i basically turn into a pokedex during my late night phone calls with my friends. if the conversation goes out, i'll start speaking about random pokemon facts (it's the special interest talking..)
Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo.
gas stations and convenience stores are separated where i live xD i like to get a strawberry smoothie from 7-eleven, but tbh i mainly do it because i just think the machine is cool...
What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why?
dating sims! i just like feeling included :,)
And whatever else you think tells me about who you are!
im a drawing artist mostly, but i dabble in a ton of other creative/artistic hobbies, and im in a band :^) also, i have hyperphantasia. that's pretty cool
A Free Spirit, a creative, and artist with a love of the stars- who else could you be but Elliott’s Sunshine, his brightest star?
I love pairing our favorite Dreamwalker with artists; it’s just an irrefutable match, you know? With your hyperphantasia, I bet he’d love to be a guest in your dreams, to firsthand see what you see and bring into the world through art. Elliott is just such a sweetpea, the most fun and supportive boyfriend you could imagine. As someone who works in art/architecture himself, he gets you. He understands creative blocks, the frustration and excitement of trying out a new concept or medium, the desire to not rest until you have made something, a desire he’d make sure to nip in the bud when necessary.
Speaking of your art, he is your biggest fanboy, because Elliott highkey has fanboy energy, don’t you think? He’s picking you up from practice, he’s attending every gig, he hyping you up every chance he gets. He’d also use his magic to give you the most exciting gifts. Think the dragon flashback audio but for you. He could put you in the world of Bee and Puppycat! He could make you a dream dating sim where all the romanceable npcs are him in different hats.
Song:
Pull it out of park, put it in drive/ I can feel your heart beatin' with mine/ Underneath the stars lookin' for a sign/ Glowing in the dark 'til the sun shines/ Made it pretty far on the first try/ Might've set the bar a little too high/ Started with a spark, now we're on fire/ Started with a spark
I had to give you a fun song with star motifs, I couldn’t help it~ This is also a fun, sweet song with chill, lowkey make out vibes. Elliott also totally strikes me as a The Neighborhood, Sweater Weather fan.
Runner-ups:
Vincent is a really fun runner-up because he would be such a good groupie; like, can’t you imagine him front and center of any of your performances, saying “you were great, Lovely, I bought you a brand new guitar.” Anton is another fun runner-up because he’s so technically-inclined, so I think an artist would contrast him beautifully.
note: thank you for your entry~!
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

Hello! If not a bother, I'd like to request a TWST matchup (either platonic or romantic is fine). I enjoy writing a lot (particularly darker content). I love theater and the natural world a lot (to the point my entire family and all my friends are now giving me animal- and marine based presents lol), perhaps it's the 'tism, but I find it so fascinating and beautiful, every creature is just a lovable little guy to me, and the way every plant, fungi, and cell work together to create the world we know, is incredible.
I have been told that the traits I find loveable aren't universally shared, such as when I find it cute that snails can have thousands of teeth. But I just find it hard not to marvel at all these things.
I'm very patient, and while things often fly over my head, and I struggle to read people, I try very hard to understand everyone around me, as a result, I tend to not judge people, instead getting to know them, and I value communication highly, as I am not good at guessing or intuitively knowing.
I do tend to get a bit lost in my own head and interests though, and tend to spend a lot of time alone, being quite introverted - so sometimes I might need a reminder to actually interact, but I'm working on it.
Thank you for sending in a match-up; I think that either Rook Hunt or Silver would be good matches for you!
I was actually debating between Silver and Jade, but ultimately, I picked Silver for your match-up since I think with Jade you would need to be good at guessing how he's feeling since he's not open and honest about himself in that regard. He would be a great person to talk to about your interests and hobbies, though, considering he loves fungi and is literally a merman haha.
Rook loves that you, too, appreciate theatre as it's something he does as well. He'd also love to read your stories if you were willing to share them with him as he doesn't mind consuming a darker story every now and again. Rook is also quite the outdoorsman, so he would love to accompany you if you want to take a hike or venture out into the wilderness. Rook is also someone who can understand your awe at the beauty of the world, even such small and seemingly minuscule things such as how cells function, and he does so without any judgement; he's honestly very supportive of you and your interests and would happily sit and listen to you talk about them all day every day if he were able to. Rook would also relate to your ability to find traits or facts universally deemed as being weird or gross to be cute instead; he, too, sees the beauty in the "strange" and "unconventional." He's also understanding of your need for alone time and space, but he's also the kind of person who will happily give you reminders to get out and socialize; Rook won't overstep your boundaries, but he's there to give you a push if you need it.
Silver has an almost supernatural ability to draw animals of every variety to him so if you ever wanted to see a specific animal up close and personal, Silver would be happy to make your dreams a reality as he somehow seems to communicate with the animals without ever uttering a single word. Silver is also, much like you, a very patient individual who also has a difficult time reading others. Unlike some of the other students at Night Raven College, Silver is always open to communicate with you about how he's feeling or how you're feeling in regard to your relationship, and he always does so calmly and kindly with no judgement. He also understands and respects your need to be alone given your introverted nature and will gladly give you space if you need it as all you need to do is tell him. Thankfully, though, being with Silver doesn't take as much social battery as it may with other people. You two spend a lot of your time together alone in silence, Silver usually sleeping while you focus on learning or reading about the things you are passionate about.

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you!
I first saw your centipede posts months ago and was enthralled with these little guys off the bat. After a ton to research on all things centipede and the encouragement of a close friend, I decided to get my first centipede about a month ago and so far it going great! I absolutely love him/her/them with all my heart and am constantly fascinated with their behavior and habits.
I also work in veterinary medicine as a licensed technician (and am in school working on my undergrad degree to hopefully become a doctor of veterinary medicine someday) and would love to be able to one day provide care for more exotic animals including invertebrates. Thank you for igniting a passion for learning more about inverts. ❤️🪲🪱🦂🦗
while I’m happy that you did your research, bought a captive bred (or at least CH) specimen, and enjoy your centipede (which is more than most people do) this still made me a bit sad to hear because I don’t want my posts to encourage keeping centipedes without breeding them.
I don’t mean to single you out specifically, especially since you seem like a very responsible keeper, so speaking in general to everybody I really wish more centipedes were captive bred, and that includes breeding specimens which are themselves CBB. I see this a lot with the biggest, fanciest, rarest mantises, amblypygi, and centipedes: wild or first generation CBB end up being single “trophy pets” that are not bred (either keeper can’t find more, or isn’t interested) and therefore just take away from the hobby rather than adding to a stable captive population.
in the case of South American giant Scolopendra like your galapagoensis, captive breeding can be serious because they have very short lifespans: about ~5 years is what I hear from other keepers, and females have only one large clutch in their lives because she dies for her offspring to consume. fortunately their size, rarity, and the beefy price tag that accompanies those traits make them a species breeders are willing to produce these days, but even then there can’t be more than a handful of breeding adults with a fairly limited gene pool.
it’s probably even worse for species like S. polymorpha and S. dehaani which are only wild caught and almost never intentionally captive bred. these are the “cheap” centipedes in the US, with polys being caught in the southwest deserts and dehaani being imported in bulk from Vietnam. these are the species novice keepers get, and never breed, and that continues to fuel demand for collection. there isn’t any data on how collection impacts wild populations but in my opinion collection is never necessary when captive breeding is possible (even if it can be tedious in centipedes).
anyway, I hope I did not come off as attacking you—you are more responsible than most, and I’m sure your centipede will have a good life. but I feel very guilty when I hear “I love your posts so I got myself a centipede!” because that centipede is so rarely captive bred, and even if it is, it probably won’t ever get to contribute diversity to the captive population.
I’d started keeping Scolopendra myself with the intent to breed and support captive populations, and a combination of naivety and bad luck meant almost all of my centipede projects failed. I have no plans to breed centipedes for at least several more years. a majority of the videos I post are fairly old, and I only have a handful of centipedes remaining. I often wonder if I should just stop posting about anything scolo-related because I don’t really want to inspire others to keep centipedes if they’re not going to breed them. I do not think this is exaggeration or “gatekeeping” because not breeding animals is how they become imperiled in the wild and extinct in captivity at the same time (many tarantulas and reptiles have experienced this). to me, indirectly supporting that outweighs what I’m actually trying to do—inspire people to stop being scared and enjoy arthropods, in captivity or in the wild.
anyway, I’m sorry to write all of this up under your ask but I’m not sure where else it makes sense to say. good luck with your galap & I hope its next molt goes well

ugh every time i Scroll my brain goes "but look I made you some cooooontent, daddy made you your favorite open wide" and i get so sad because all i want is to be able to enjoy things. all i want is to stop scrolling and actually find things to enjoy. i want to enjoy things. when i scroll it's an endless search for something that will actually make me feel something, something i like. and i rarely find something that scratches the itch. all of the tv shows are never as good as the last one i watched. none of the games or the books are as good as the last thing i consumed. i am so tired of consumption. i want to create. but i dont always have the ability to create. i dont always have the ideas or mental energy to write. i want to paint or woodwork but i dont have the space. when im ill especially this is the case, and im ill a lot. ive been sick since i was a kid and never felt the enjoyment other kids did in staying at home or being in hospital and getting to watch movies or play games endlessly. for me all i could feel was pain, and in that pain i couldn't focus on Content. i can't even lounge around and consume when im tired and need a break because ive already consumed all the things i like. there is an endless void that cannot be filled, and an endless search, and an endless wait for the next upload, the next episode, the next season, the next book release. and this isnt a new issue for me caused by the increasingly algorithmic internet. ive been doing this my whole life. as a kid i would play my favorite dragon quest or animal crossing game to death until the next one came out. the harry potter books. the star wars movies. and as i got older i was excited by tumblr and youtube and fanfiction, places where people would talk and write and make art about those things so i could fill the void in its absence, and that helps to this day. but what do i do when ive exhausted it all, or when it is too emotionally exhausting to find something new to invest myself in, or when that recommendation my friend gave doesn't quite hit? nothing, including school, was ever stimulating enough for me, and that remains the case. graduate work is interesting but a lot of it is a slog of the same damn thing. the same articles that remain relevant to the field each class, another lightning talk, another seminar lead. my research fascinates me, and yet there's so much waiting and clerical work between getting to the point where i can enjoy it. and then finally ive created the content! and now i have to wait for the next project idea, the next article publication, the next conference. i dont need a new hobby or a new job or a new anything. something is wrong with all this and i just dont know what it is, because every time i find some new Content that i love it eventually goes away. everything new to me eventually becomes old and something must come next, but it is seldom that something comes, and it is seldom that it meets my unintentionally strict criteria for something Good. there always has to be something new, and with some urgency. im tired and i dont know how to make it stop. there is an extent to which i can see the thread that connects the things i like- love, and human connection. and with that i also seek the contact of friends constantly. but that's not always an option. i feel so stuck.

The idea that "criticizing female wrongdoers is evil" is not exclusive to Edelgard stans, unfortunately.
Back when Once Upon a Time was on the air, Regina Mills committed mass murder, rape, brainwashing, etc. Yet she had a similar "Cult of Personality" fanbase that would constantly scream at you at the top of their lungs if you criticized Regina even slightly. And they actually managed to succeed in turning Regina into a "Black Hole Sue" that constantly had everyone (including her biggest victims) kiss her ass.
And in the Avatar fandom, Azula fans have gotten crazier, screaming at the top of their lungs that Zuko is a terrible person because he ran away from the sister who tormented him for years.
And in the Castlevania fandom, fans make excuses for Lenore, who treated Hector like a sex slave through magical enslavement.
And don't even get anon started on Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill la Kill, who sexually abused her own daughter, and still had fans make excuses for her.
Something about modern fandom culture seems to drive people to worship female abusers and murderers, as if women aren't subject to the same laws and consequences as other people. It's a dangerous mindset, and worst of all, it's spreading.
Every generation of young people becomes the next generation of leaders, and anon fears for the future when these people will eventually be running the world.
I feel like female antagonists are a lightning rod for it right now, but I wouldn't say it's even exclusive to fictional women. I wouldn't even say it's really a modern fandom culture problem. It's a human problem. Humans in general have a fascination with authority, power, and confidence. That's why authoritarian regimes rise and fall throughout all of human history, and why so many of our oldest tales are about remaining humble and not abusing power.
It is something we have dealt with countless times before, and it's something we will continue to deal with until we destroy it or it destroys us.
I find several things far more concerning for the future of our society than the media being consumed and/or justified by modern fandom. Because I don't think media causes the problem, I think the way fans behave about media is a symptom of the problem (and sometimes that behavior needs to be called out, but it's not the media's fault necessarily).
Speaking as an American, I think the biggest thing threatening our youth, at this point, is the infantalization of adolesence, the ridiculous amount of monitoring and controlling of children and teens, and the intense social isolation born from essentially being a prisoner in your own home until you're 16 years old (and longer if your family can't afford to get you your license or a car).
I don't honestly believe that most kids and teens would spend so much time consuming media and arguing about it on the internet, basically living tethered to social media, if they were allowed to walk to the park by themselves and play with their friends, or if a teen could reliably get to their friends' house across town and hang out somewhere with them where they wouldn't be seen as a nuisance or dangerous, or if they could get to meetups and hobbies and meet people without needing to beg mom and dad for a ride every time. No one wants to be terminally online, but what choice do a lot of kids even have these days? When walking to the corner store down the street is so dangerous that it's basically a death sentence, because there's no sidewalks and everyone is driving Sherman tank sized SUVs and trucks 25 miles over the limit?
Like I was a kid before a lot of this stuff was getting really bad, and even I feel like I was robbed because I had to waste so much of my adolescence stuck behind a screen. There was no one to talk to IRL unless you were lucky enough to live in the same neighborhood as your friends (I did not), nowhere to go, nothing to do, and no way to get there until I turned 16. That's absolute murder on your mental health, so it's no wonder kids are latching onto anything to fill the gaps.
And I dunno. It's sad that these days our childhoods are defined not by who we knew or where we went or what we did, but by what corporate schlock we consumed.
That's not even getting into how that extreme isolation and inability to escape intensifies abusive environments. Imagine being a 14 year old queer kid in a hostile household, and the nearest LGBTQ+ community center is a 45 minute drive away. Not only are you stuck in an environment that's rapidly deteriorating your mental (and possibly physical) health, you need to ask your abusers to drive you to the place where you might find community, acceptance, and resources. That, or you need to get very adept at figuring out who is a safe adult to ask for that stuff, with the knowledge that every person you tell risks outing you to even more people who might wish you harm, or bringing backlash on you in the home.
Just. Fuck car-centric infrastructure, okay? Fuck it all to hell. I hate it here. Bully your representatives at every level of government to transition to walkable, human-scale cities with mixed use development as the standard. It's better for the environment, better for your health (both mental and physical), better for the community, and better for life. I genuinely believe this is one of the problems that, if we fix it, is going to domino effect into fixing a whole lot of other shit.
I got a little off topic, look up Not Just Bikes on Youtube he's great at presenting persuasive arguments you can bring around to your representatives.

34, 36, 41 for casey for the ask meme :^]
SR character building questions
34. What activities does your character do when they’re not doing Saints business?
I'm guessing this is activities as in hobbies etc. not Activities which would come under Saints stuff?
I feel like obviously the Saints hang out just watching tv/movies and drinking/getting high a lot. So whenever that's an option, she'll take it because honestly she does have this constant fear of abandonment that frames her interactions with her friends. I mean that both in the sense of making the most of it and also feeling like she can't let them down even on the occasions she could probably do with some alone time.
Casey's also pretty good at poker. I did make a mention before of the time she won one of Pierce's tournaments because she had terrible cards but couldn't stop smiling all night, but that aside I think she's already really good by that point. She generally has that pretty chill facade and is used to hiding her emotions, plus, if she's playing with people she doesn't know, it's even better as they're very likely to underestimate her intelligence because of the way she talks. One might even speculate that the way she goes from desperately wanting people to realise she's not an idiot to realising that it can be useful at times may be something she realised partially through playing.
She still likes to practice shooting even when she's not doing that at work, she even builds a shooting range in her own home on Ragnarok/New Earth. Now the thing about this one is that generally, Casey does not enjoy physical violence out of work so much, she prefers to wind down from all that. But she enjoys target practice at all times, she gets a big sense of achievement out of it. She has a preference for doing this with Johnny because of the high standard of competition involved and in fact until her friendship with Matt develops, her target practice with Johnny is about the only regular (she does other stuff e.g. shopping with Pierce but it's more occasional/sporadic) one-on-one friend time she has.
I feel like sex should be mentioned as it takes up a fair enough chunk of her time. She has a high sex drive and while she obviously could deal with things by herself in that respect, perhaps more crucially she isn't fully comfortable with non-sexual intimacy for a long time. Did I just say she fucks everyone because she needs a hug? Yes, she fucks everyone because she needs a hug. My point is, 2-3 one night stands a week is time consuming. Granted sometimes calling up a sex worker can speed things up but by the time she has enough money to regularly do that she's also somewhat famous so has to weigh up the risks of that being found out.
She was a big, big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering in her teens, but none of the original Saints are into that and later on she's kind of embarrassed about it and doesn't ask. She does get back into MTG after the Forbidden Planet trip and teaches Matt. They start with the most basic thrown together decks then build on them together until they are able to reasonably challenge each other. She likes board games but I feel like there were several incidents pre-therapy that mean no-one wants to play with her anymore, even though as she matures she would take it way less seriously. I think various board games are brought out on the ship. She is fascinated with various tabletop games as she peeked some at YGO/MTG tournaments but has never actually played any.
Then when she's alone... reading! Big one! Obviously I make a big deal out of Jane Austen bc she is her favourite but the Brontes are a very close second, and like most avid readers, though she does have her favourites, she is always reading something new when she gets the chance. Unfortunately that's not generally the case for a long time because those moments of complete calm are rare. After SRIV she has a lot more free time (and the ability to time jump for books) to the point where Zinbir, one of my antagonists suggests"...your only capability; that of running around shooting people, has been replaced by sitting around on a spaceship reading books." (but fuck him tbh). But the main reason she has the time to do that is because I feel like she finally learns to say no to hanging with everyone all the time because it's hard enough to all get along in that living situation without being together 24/7.
36. What diversions did your character like to do in Steelport and Stilwater? Which ones did they avoid?
don'tsayho-ingdon'tsayho-ingdon'tsayho-ing
Again, I'm guessing specifically just diversions? I love this question bc I have to think about what the character would enjoy not just what I do.
I feel like in SR she really likes tagging but she is not an artist, half the time in my hc it's probably just a smiley/angry/sad face, a dick and her pseudonym. She starts off doing it again post-coma but when she actually processes the fact she is suddenly not a teenager anymore she finds it kind of embarrassing.
I think she mugs people but not quite as we see in game. Honestly I like anything to do with stealing stuff with Casey, it's a random trait I apply across universes. She's not the stealthiest though, that's why it's hilarious. She'd pickpocket someone and they'd totally notice and she'd just be like yeah I took your wallet, I also have a gun, like... where do you want to go with this? You'd think theft would be on my list on this basis but I doubt she's great with safecracking tbh.
Combat tricks are a diversion right? I feel like you can only kill so many people before you start wanting to get a little creative. I can see her saying, right, today I am shooting everyone in the balls. Whether they have balls or not.
I also think it would be really, really funny if she's not usually into collecting things but it's something she gets incredibly into when she's high. That said in 4 she doesn't really have the ability to get high and she still likes collecting clusters when she's bored. I think this is because obviously she gets to use the super powers to get them and plus the habit of collecting things maybe just stuck.
Once she has worked out her strengths she avoids racing, stunt jumps, anything involving a car bc she can't fucking drive... she only gets driving stunts by accident 🤣 I don't think she much likes photo ops in 3 as I make it clear she sees fame as a necessary evil most of the time. She's also terrible at those tower jump things in 4. Maybe if she wasn't wearing heels all the time that'd help. Also, although it's fun in-game, realistically I think she should be a complete fail at like 90% of store hacking.
41. Name the top three Saints your character got along with the least.
Ooh difficult!
I feel like Oleg and Casey have a pretty meh relationship overall. This kind of goes back to the recognising intelligence thing. He does respect her as a leader, but he doesn't really see her as an intellectual, because I guess she's not really. He seems genuinely surprised when she shows brief moments of linguistic prowess or brilliance in problem solving for example. I think they get along just fine for work but they don't form the sort of close friendship she does with a lot of the other Saints. Which is a shame because I like Oleg and his dynamic with some of the other Saints a lot.
Angel... I don't know if this is because Angel is such a meh character to me or what. But I feel like they barely knew each other especially as I see him as so super focused on Killbane throughout SR3 so they never really got to connect. Since Casey saves Shaundi, I always see Angel and Killbane kind of disappearing off into the sunset together. Idk, I like the idea of a love so passionate it resembles hate and vice versa. I don't necessarily know which is them. Unless I decide I want to do something with them later, they are presumed dead though.
Finally I'd say maybe Keith. Because just thinking back to the dynamics in the white house and on board the ship, they just don't make that kind of connection. Plus I think he thinks she doesn't take anything seriously enough. Like Oleg he doesn't bother her enough to scratch the surface, which is fair. Not everyone wants to have to unwrap every layer of someone just to make a friend.
I think this is the thing, Casey has Saints she argues with more and less and has her ups and downs with. Also sometimes her personal and work relationships with one person manifest very differently. But she's still with them, interacting, keeping them close. It's the ones who she doesn't make the effort with or who don't make the effort with her that I class as her not getting along with.
#i *think* i'm joking about the ho-ing thing i'm sure she slightly prefers that sort of thing to be free on both sides#i had to double check what counts as a diversion tbh#the reasons i worry about how long i make these is not because they're long but because i worry they'll be incoherent#because by the time I'm halfway through an answer I've looked at it too long and i don't know what I'm fucking saying#to others who've sent asks i will be working on them now it's just taking me longer than normal atm :)#the fact people in my hc are usually dead until proven alive is kind of funny#thank you for the ask!#sr boss: casey clark#saints row

This week, I’v been trying o find small pockets of joy through consuming a little bit of media and hopping back into an old hobby. I usually don’t like to watch much tv. When i do watch something, it’s usually some type of slow icing vlog on YouTube. Which, though i o really enjoy, I wanted to shake things up a bit. So i binged the first season of “school spirits.” I honestly really liked it! I’ve been needing something spooky to hold m over til’ Halloween. Something new that wasn’t one of my usual comfort spooky shows (chilling adventures of Sabrina. & Penny dreadful.) I really enjoyed getting to know each character’s back story. I especially loved Wally’s character. An as an 80’s high school jock, I expected one thing , from old hon Hugh’s movies, and got something maybe adjacent but much more wholesome. He’s a bit of a himbo for sure but he’s incredibly sweet and does his best to lift up our protagonist whenever he can. I enjoyed seeing his moments of insecurity as well as his moments of incredible confidence. He definitely had golden retriever energy.
The other thing i have been consuming is books. Well, one book so far. I am a slow reader after all. But I recently picked up “My Sweet Audrina” by VC Andrews. My mom had been a big VC Andrews fan in the 80’s and early 90’s when i was very young. I remember those books being scattered in various parts of the house or in the car with their fascinating covers. I couldn’t quite read yet but I was very interested in what those books might hold. I started with (and so far have only finished) flowers in the attic. I loved it and immediately but the full set on kindle to read on my phone. Though I’m still flipping my way through book two in that series , It’s Audrina’s story that currently has me in a choke hold. In the Whitefern mansion, live a somewhat unwillingly melded family. Damian Adare, the narcissistic head of the house hold, his beautiful wife, Luccietta Adare and thier daughter, Audrina…. The second f her name , preceded by her older sister “The first and best Audrina” who died prior to our protagonist’s birth. Our current Audrina is Damian’s attempt at recreating , so to speak, his first perfect daughter. With this family, lives Ellsbeth Whitefern, Luccietta’s older sister, and her own daughter, Vera, Audrina’s older cousin but about 3 years. Vera is the character I grew most fascinated and most sympathetic towards during this book. She’s a hateful , spiteful girl without really being spoiled. She’s hated by pretty much everyone in the house. Luccietta tolerates her, her mother , Ellsbeth, does her best to raise her but grows more and more Frustrated as Vera grows into a wild raging teenager. And Damian straight up treats her like garbage. Audrina is the only one who tries to be civil with Vera in spite of Vera constantly antagonizing her. In the start of the book, Vera attempts to win Damian’s fatherly affections by doing little things for him that might please him, dressing nicely, acting proper, but once sh realizes she will never get the fatherly type love she hopes for from the man of the house, she acts more spitefully towards him and Audrina. There’s a bit of a secret behind vera’s birth which, might be obvious after reading this, but I’ll still hold on to the spoiler for anyone new to the book. Watching Vera spiral into her self , becoming more wicked towards Audrina for what seems like no reason, becomes almost heart breaking (to me) when you realize why she act this way. The girl has always felt unwanted by her whole family. I wold probably be pretty toxic too if i felt that much animosity towards me in my own home. I’m not done with the book yet. I stil have half of the book left and look forward to reading more..
My last bit to write about it my old picked up hobby. Crocheting. I’ve been working on this one huge blanket on and off for the past 12 years. It’s incredibly long and made up of a mixture of different yarns. I think it’s coming out beautifully. I often get bored with it eventually or run out of yarn and us take forever to go by new yarn. But in this moment, I enjoy watching things on my iPad while adding onto the blanket. I hope I eventually do finish the full blanket. I have made it long enough to wrap around myself completely during depressive episodes. i love how soft each skein i have picked is and the colors make me happy.
Here’s to more foraging for bliss.

this is what happens when you have your sister on tumblr….. thanks for tagging me i guess @no-destiel-spoilers-pls
Were you named after anybody?
i don’t think i was named after someone specifically, i just know that my grandma wanted to give me a different name, but my dad and mom went for poli after all and i’m happy with that since it sounds like a trans chosen name lol
When was the last time you cried?
i think at the beginning of july, because i was missing my gf a lot with whom we parted for a long time until we can see eo again
Do you have kids?
no, and funnily enough i have this question of kids on my mind a lot nowadays lmao. i related heavily to daniel howell on this topic, he talks about it in a video “i don’t want kids” and the main point he makes is that he wouldn’t want to bring kids into this state of a planet, which i basically agree with. but it would be SOOO easy to just get pregnant for me rn, because my family would love it. they want grandkids and i believe they would support me and love me even more if i decided to have my own kids, but sadly i don’t think it’s an option for me lmao. like.. i guess i wouldn’t be opposed to pregnancy?? even tho i’m scared of it, but if my partner would really want our own kids, idk.. i think i could get persuaded. but that’s another topic altogether, since my romantic life is also far from being the norm in this society and it’s just very complicated and long distance at the moment 😐
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
i try not to, since sometimes it’s hard for myself to pick up on it from others lol
What sports did you play/have you played?
i enjoyed playing sports like volleyball, table tennis skiing, swimming, but my main passion is tennis and i really hope i can integrate that sport into my life more in the near future, because i just crave playing it
What’s the first thing you notice in somebody?
probably the way they dress? i usually always tend to find queer folks more interesting and fascinating since we usually have either interesting hair, makeup or some diy things on our clothings or bags
but other than that i love to see when people smile, so once i see someone smile, i remember it the most, i think
Eye colour?
i’d usually say “just usual brown” but i’ve gotten lots of compliments about my eye color in the past year so i guess there’s something more to it than just being boring brown
Scary movies or happy endings?
happy endings 100% because i really don’t enjoy scary movies hahah
Any special talents?
i can touch my elbows together if i put my hands on my hips and pull them inwards 😐
Where were you born?
in saint petersburg, one of my favourite cities in the world, even though i’m not sure when can i come back, if ever
What are your hobbies?
anything creative, really. art, knitting, animation, editing, writing, pottery.. also languages, consuming media and books!
Favourite subject in high school?
art history :] even tho i hated the teacher as a person, he was great at teaching the subject
Dream job?
freelance artist :> maybe one day
im not even sure who to tag, i don’t usually interact in this way with my mutuals

Personal Statement for uni-
I have a big imagination since I really love the world of fiction and things that do not exist in reality. I like anything that shows off creativity and a unique sense of individuality to show what goes on in your brain and who you are. Currently I am studying Graphic Design, but I am also interested in pursuing UX/UI Design in the future. The reason behind why I would like to do this is because I have a great interest in creativity and technology. Ever since I was a young child, I've always loved being creative by drawing and making things. I have also always been drawn into anything technology related. It's something that has fascinated me and made me glad that I was born into a generation that is blooming with technological advancements. It allows me to make the most of using and enjoying technology whenever I can. That is why I want to be part of that world by helping to create digital things, while also letting my creative side take control too. I believe that letting these interests help decide my career path will make me enjoy my career choice as much as I possibly can. I also believe I'll really enjoy doing my best when I try to market my product, looking at statistics and how it will psychologically work in the minds of the consumer. I find that to be really exciting and a great journey with satisfying results. I really would like a career where I can create, but also successfully market my creations. When it comes to my passion for my favourite hobby of art, I love experimenting a lot with this. Whether it may be using markers, paint, pencils, on paper, canvases or even digital art. I like exploring all sorts of new methods, finding what I enjoy and what works for me. I also enjoy anything related to food (I love good food) or surfing the web and finding new corners of the internet. My creative process is starting off by looking into what I want to create and finding existing work that I can use as research to generate my own ideas. Then I'll likely sketch it out and pick my favourite idea. Afterwards, I would get straight to creating what I have in mind. I have learnt to work both on a Mac and PC, so I can adjust myself to work on whichever one is presented to me. I am also learning to use Adobe software and I have found that I adapted quickly to any software that I am newly introduced to. I often am able to use the internet to learn new techniques I can use whenever I am struggling. My skills are artistic things such as drawing and making artwork. I have technical skills in software, such as Adobe, Microsoft and other computer related things, involving creating things such as posters, magazines, and also moving images. I know how to navigate my way around the software. I would consider myself to be creative. Inside of art, I admire artists in media who have an interesting stylised art form. One of the people who's art I admire is Roy Lichtenstein who is an American pop artist from the 60s who created graphical, expressive artwork. I also enjoy creating these types of art myself during my free time. They are what inspire me to be creative, alongside animation, and give me inspiration to create art. I wish to one day have the high level of skill that they hold. I want to be a designer who is able to work both under any circumstance. I want to become independent in what I can do. I am taking a College course in Graphic Design, and have spent time during my first year of College doing industry placement work for Birmingham Updates from the Nonsensical Agency as a photographer (including photo editing for my images) while balancing my regular assignments at the same time. I have hopes that taking further education will open new doors and opportunities for me, changing my life for the better.Once I gain experience working, I have hopes of being able to do freelance work for more flexibility and to be my own boss, and perhaps go the extra mile by starting my own agency or business whenever I am able to do so, as a leader.
