With tooru awake and touma seemingly fighting on the side of the protagonists now I want iori to reveal that he didn't die but was turned into a subclass. Give me united three old idiots. Plus a vampire as the head of the tokyo branch would be fun.

So I have 2 crack theories

One is that Akira might be Tsubaki's previous eve. In almost every scene we see her, she is smiling, a simplified symbol of joy. The fact that she never told Tooru who the father was could be due to her not wanting Tooru to be upset. Her not telling Touma could be that she didn't want to force him to handle something he was not ready for. When she died, practically everyone she cared for was stuck in a state of mourning, even Mahiru hasn't fully moved on. It kinda makes thematic sense from what I could see.

The other is that she and Kiriko were an item before the events of servamp. This came to me in a dream where Akira ended up killing Hokaze and Kiriko was shocked to see what happened. This has no evidence whatsoever but I think it would be funny in an absurd way that Mikuni was manipulating Mahiru because he thought Akira was manipulating Kiriko. This doesn't mean that Akira didn't care for Touma. She loved him just as she loved Kiriko.

Considering how little we know about Akira, there's a possibility I'm completely wrong. But I think we're due for an Akira plot twist soon.

see like for something to be called theories it would have to have a basis on canon so i would call these headcanons or AU ideas

we dont know much about tsubaki's eve situation except for the fact that the characters in-universe are theorizing he gets to keep the contract name tsubaki because his eve, st germaine, still exist as djinns all along

we also dont know whether akira even knew any alicein, although i headcanon that she and kiriko attended the same all-girls school for magician kids, like a counterpart for ichinose. although i do like the idea of mikuni manipulating mahiru as a roundabout way of getting revenge on the dead, if he found out akira was the one who killed misono's mom then if anything he would feel somewhat indebted to mahiru's mom for keeping his mother's hand clean

personally i would love for akira to be bossy as a teenager the way mahiru is, and it made her SUPER unpopular with most of the girls at school. and kiriko, coming from a Good Family engaged to a Good Prospect soaked up everyone's attention. both of them jealous at each other, kiriko of what she perceives as akira having true friendship and akira of kiriko's popularity and seemingly lack of worries

a friendship that COULD have happened if one of them decided to speak up but it didn't

anyway lol the lack of akira's content means it's impossible to theorize about her beyond "she was older than Touma who is the same age as Tooru" and "she COULD be toxic in some way because servamp has proven itself over and over again uninterested in the perfect victim narrative"

Now, sloth pair is my hobby. It’s what I love most in thisfandom. I do not deny that there are characters in Servamp that are interestingfor me, but if it is to choose. Obviously I would lean towards the sloth pair. Nowregarding your doubt. (I say again, I do not know if I should talk about this)But it’s fine!

To talk about characters, I like to base myself on the ownexperience or opinions of people who do not read the manga / anime. This tohave another vision outside of fanaticism.

Let’s see point one. What do I think of Tsurugi? Well, it’sa character that caught my attention. As many, surely at the beginning of thisarch. (endless by the way) I can understand people who hate him, or people whostopped loving him.

Let’s see the beginning. Tsurugi appeared with Yumi and Junas one of the three strongest of C3. It was even mentioned that Tsurugi is thestrongest in the branch. The strongest fighter with a childish attitude, loverof money. Up to that point, the mangaka introduced a number of comedy that madeseveral of the Fans become fond of the character. It is the common thing thatmangakas do when introducing new characters, or a new arc. A dark theme addedwith comedy.

Then came the importance of this arch. Tsurugi is the protagonist(of this arch at least) The events that have happened are linked to him. Thetheme of Touma, the creation of a new Servamp. The issue of how Servamps aremade (maybe we can know more about them when Mahiru reveals Touma’s past)anyway. Tsurugi is the main plot.

But Tsurugi only wears a mask. Behind that smiling anddisinterested appearance. Tsurugi suffers and has problems for who he is.

Ok Tsurugi is the kind of characters that I love to analyze.Those characters that smile when they cry inside, are characters that manage toreach my heart. You know, Mahiru is that kind of character. And ironically,Kuro too.

What I liked about this bow, is that even the mangaka hasgiven the direct comparison. Tsurugi is equal to Mahiru. What is it that makesthem different beyond personality? his childhood development. With Mahiru andTsurugi we have the perspective of good and evil taking their paths. Mahirufollowed a path of good thanks to the influence of Tooru, his uncle. Instead,Tsurugi followed a path of death and guilt thanks to Touma. Yes, we have bothsides of the same coin.

I can write you a long note writing about Tsurugi, but Ithink we all know what it is like. From that strong boy he passed to the boywho needed a hug and understanding. I can understand when everyone says thatthis arch is endless. But let’s imagine a moment, it is the psychologicaldevelopment of a character. (although yes, the mangaka has made this bowsomewhat boring) But the attitude and the revealing against Touma could not bein a minute. Keep in mind that Tsurugi has spent his life in C3, and he neededa moment to assimilate things and finally get away from Touma.

Now let’s move on to the other point. The mother. Let metell you that when she appeared I thought it was a woman l with vision problems(someone remembers when she confused Mahiru with Kuro? I thought she neededglasses or maybe she was playing) Well, The mother was a character who wasalways there from the beginning , but few people had it in their sights. Mostwere with their eyes on the previous arches, like Misono’s, Greed. It was notuntil C3 that she took something of importance.

I admit that I liked that she had an Eve man and spent herwhole life taking care of him until death. (I do not avoid thinking that Kurowill take care of Mahiru like this)

Now you ask me a contract from The mother and Tsurugi? Let’ssee it from the ethical point of the manga. Tsurugi could not have made acontract. Yes I know. Many people fervently hoped that he would give him aname, and many people ended up hating Tsurugi for being slow and cowardly. Butagain, let’s put it in Tsurugi’s place. Tsurugi doubted much of himself,Tsurugi did not want to fight anymore, Tsurugi wanted his life to end.

Tsurugi was broken at that moment.

Making a contract with Wrath at that time would havetriggered another problem. Wrath would surely have swallowed Tsurugi because ofhis unstable emotions. It’s like Mahiru at the beginning of the manga, hisdoubts led him to Kuro losing control of himself.

Tsurugi was not prepared to take The Mother at that moment.But, Tsurugi saw something in her. They were minutes in which The mother gavehim the option to change, and she made Tsurugi doubt. Until then, the subjectof the contract was close.

I admit that this scene touched me. Tsurugi was trained tokill vampires. Tsurugi is a weapon to fight against Servamps,however, hereTsurugi did not want to leave and leave The Mother behind. I do not think I wasthe only one who shouted and said “make a contract now!”

If Tsurugi had been mentally prepared to no longer doubt, togo against all his teachings and face Touma. Definitely the contract betweenThe Mother and Tsurugi would have been brutal. If Lawless and Licht are a beastbattling together, imagine Wrath and Tsurugi fighting together. Tsurugi easilyconfronted Tsubaki after all.

Now the last point. The current contract. I do not have muchto add, beyond saying that I was disappointed. I do not think I’m the onlyperson in this Fandom who feels this way. Iduna is a very simple character, afriendship story very used in the manga and I have seen millions of times, asthe theme of revenge. Therefore it becomes repetitive.

I can only say that her contract was selfish. (If you’reFans of her, stop reading now!) She asked for the help of a Servamp to resolvea personal conflict.

Ok, she goes to my long list of characters who are not ableto solve their problems without help. They only show that as solitaryindividuals, they contribute absolutely nothing. I even think that the reasonshe became an Eve is to tie Shuuhei with the main story? I really do not know.

Now the other point. The contract was rushed? Well thecontract literally was made in a chapter compared to all the chapters ofTsurugi doubting … So, Yes. It was hurried. Something that nobody expected.And something that bothered several, and that made others scream withhappiness.( the people who hated Tsurugi?)

I can see how most accept it because there are no femalecharacters in Servamp. But personally. Servamp did not need female charactersto shine. The story is interesting, the characters are charismatic. Even themain antagonist is loved by the fans. (there are few antagonists in the sleeveswho are loved by the public) therefore, I, personally, did not see it necessaryto have an eve girl. (and much less that it was like mangaka did)

But anyway. Out of my personal opinion, I also wanted toknow about another opinion regarding an issue that I left in mind in severalchapters. I needed the opinion of someone who does not read manga or anime. So,I asked the person who guides my life and has made her beautiful, my ownmother. Obviously I omitted that they are fictional characters to make it moreinteresting and personal. I asked my mother the following:

“Mom, you, how would you feel if in an emergency likean earthquake, I asked you to save a friend who got caught, but on your way youfind another person who has no injuries, but asks you to save someoneelse?”

I took the reference from The Mother in her time to helpTsurugi, and the meeting she did afterwards with Iduna, at the request of herbrother, Lawless. And my mother answered the following:

“If the first person is someone important to you, it isnatural that it would be within my priorities to go and rescue him, if on theway I find the second person asking for help, I think the decision would bedifficult, because I promised to save the first person and my heart would notbe at peace if I do not see that it is safe and sound outside the devastation,life would put me to the test and challenge me to take a path, who to save?, Iwould like to be a hero and save both, but if not you can, it will always be inyour mind the guilt of having saved one, while leaving the other behind.

If I focus on the first person. In my head will be the doubtand guilt of having left the second person behind. But it was someone I did notknow. The human being feels more guilt for the family bond. I will have feltbad, of course. But there would also be the satisfaction of seeing you happy tohelp you with your friend.

On the other hand, if I had chosen to save the secondperson. I would have failed you. And the guilt and remorse would have beendouble. Because I failed you, my daughter. And also to me, my own word. ”

Then there was a long dialogue on the part of my mother, but, my mother’s words left me wondering how Tsurugi will feelnow. He is going to lose Touma. One of his friends was on the verge of death,the other is unconscious. The only place he called home is being destroyed.While on the contrary, if Iduna manages to save Shuuhei, she will enjoy thereward and satisfaction of getting what she wanted. (and bonus, a servamp)

And that’s all the questions. I love Mahiru and Kuro,therefore, for me it is easy to become attached to a character that sharessimilarities with them, as is Tsurugi. The current contract does not matter tome, but I do not deny that I would have liked The Mother to have waited justfive more minutes. Keeping in mind that C3 would collapse in about 20 minutes,Tsurugi’s final decision was made in a short time (A person who needspsychological help like Tsurugi, would have taken weeks or months to make adecision. Take that into account)

I would have liked Wrath to have waited for those minutes tomake a new contract, and I would have chosen Tsurugi instead of the other girl.

Ps. That The mother later take care of Tsurugi? It is a topic that I have read of several. But, as I and some people, I think it would not be the same (added that Iduna would be in the middle) It’s like settle for what little and nothing that was left of the cake for you.

It is sweet and bitter. It’s being in a place, and not knowing if you really belong there. The others will feel sorry for you. And someone who has lost fundamental support in his life, like Tsurugi, is not something he should deserve. 

I will be happy if Mahiru adopts him as his older brother.instead of going with The Mother.
