#I wanna watch new movies like “all of us strangers” but im just incapable of being normal abt anything

I'm such a huge baby I wish I could watch more "adult" tv/movies with serious themes and prestigious work but my mental state is so fragile that I literally haven't watched anything serious in 3 years. like literally only funny things and stuff that makes me feel good. NOT EVEN VIDEO GAMES!!!

sometimes im incredibly obstinate in ways that i dont mean to be, and i can tell i am being, and im physically incapable of figuring out how not to be

last week a guy came into work to use one of our machines and apparently my boss recognized him but i didnt, so i was trying to help him but i had no frame of reference for what this guy should already know

and he kept doing the 'you dont have to help me, thank you so so much, i am so so so sorry but would you mind helping me figure this out, no please dont get up i got it' dance that bugs me so much but like, its my job, so i helped him when he let me

and anyway the part where i was being obstinate was a few hours later, after he's basically been hanging around all morning, when he finally plucks up the courage to try making small talk, and he just.... asks me what kinds of things i like? i think maybe he had asked about one of the example projects we have hanging around the makerspace and it came up that we make them all ourselves just for fun

but that was how he worded it, 'what things do you like', and i was like 'uh. youll have to be more specific?' and eventually he narrows it down to 'like shows or movies or that sort of stuff?'

and i was already annoyed with this guy which doesnt help but i just. couldnt give him an answer. i couldnt think of anything to say. i was trying to be polite, i wasnt even trying to avoid conversation. i just had no ability to say anything useful. i remember thinking 'cartoons? i dont wanna tell this guy i watch cartoons'

so he finally, finally, tried giving me examples of things he liked, like 'the new stranger things season came out?' 'oh yeah, heard its good, not really my thing' 'uh what about mandolorian?' 'I've seen the star wars movies but i dont really follow the extra stuff?' 'have you watched the marvel movies?' 'haha yeah, I've watched them but they're not really, like, my thing'

and yeah part of the problem was this guy had zero social skills but also part of the problem is sometimes i'm just incapable of answering basic questions. someone who i'm not annoyed by could ask me 'what kind of things do you like' right this second and I'd probably talk about video games and tabletop games, but only because ive been thinking about games today. you ask me what kind of movies i watch and i cant give you an answer, because i havent been thinking about movies, i dont know where to even begin with that question. my roommate asks me how i slept and i get confused because i dont even consider qualifying the fact of my own sleep

like im not trying to be like this, i recognize im being frustrating, but i dont know what to say that won't frustrate either of us further (usually in this situations, the actual answers that come to my brain are things that feel frustrating to say, for some reason? the way telling this strange man that i watch cartoons felt like a frustrating thought?)

Prowl continued to figure out most of the solutions before they were shown. So did Whirl, but Whirl was kind of annoyed whereas Prowl was enjoying himself. Swoop continued to be disappointed at the lack of deadly battles.

Prowl and Soundwave had more feels after the show. Soundwave even kicked Primus out to facilitate the feels. Prowl was flattered.

It got emotional.
