Note to self: don’t photograph predominantly white animals in direct sunlight
#went through some cattle egret photos and there were so many that were good but ruined by blown out highlights#I wish my camera had a feature that would let me know if I was losing detail in any parts of the image while I was shooting#it can be a difficult thing to eyeball#I try to intentionally underexpose the photo bc I can pretty easily correct the exposure in post#and it reduces the chance of having blown out highlights#but I’m not a perfect photographer#and sometimes I underestimate how much I need to underexpose it#a lot of times things look fine on the viewfinder and camera screen but if you look at them on the computer sceeen you can see where the…#…details are lost
