All Yondad Moments in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: Deluxe Junior Novel~ (Part 1 of 2)

In which you can see a rather drastic change from the actual film; thus making the novelization of Vol 2 not only incredibly unique because of it, but also very enjoyable as well!

Before the sequel novel cuts and the story that takes place between both films begins, Peter and Ego actually stay behind on Berhert when the Taserface’s mutiny occurs, and the Guardians are able to put a stop to it before Nebula can shoot Yondu’s fin off.

Which not only gives us great dialogue between Yondu and Peter, (He’s not perfect, but he did raise me like his own son) but it also shows us an interaction between Yondu and Ego that doesn’t involve said Centaurian running over said Jackass in one of the greatest “get the hell away from my son” moments ever.

So take from that what you will~

Also, does anyone else find it super adorable how Yondu acts during this scene? I mean, he’s standing right in front of Ego, and is obviously very uncomfortable because of it... and yet keeps referring to Peter as “[His] boy.”

He doesn’t refer to Peter by any other nickname, surprisingly enough, and actually goes out of his way to call him his boy several times. Couple that with what Peter says above, and that is really just all around precious. So, props to the writer for including that cute little addition there!

Also, petty as it may be, I just really love seeing these two shoving the truth in Ego’s face, so I’ll take any mention of it when I can get it lmao.
