I know there’s no point saying this but RGU really is that good. I’ve been into it so long and it gets so much praised heaped on it that sometimes the feeling of it, its weight and meaning, get lost. If you give the show some space and return to it fresh, it’s just as powerful and fertile as it ever was.

Favorite character: i know this is the basic bitch response, but i like hat kid and snatcher the most. i could not pick between the two. hat kid is just so gosh darn adorable and she has so much personality even tho shes a (mostly) silent protagonist. i know most ppl are really hard for snatcher bc of his tragic backstory and he used to be a twink but honestly hed still be one of my favorites without it, hes just such a fuckin asshole and also hat kid calls him a tsundere

Second favorite character: probably the conductor? which is also the basic bitch response. he’s just so fucking bonkers i love him. also this homicidal swearing scottish grandpa is voiced by xander mobus, the same person who voiced the smash announcer and joker from persona 5, which is just. that sure is a fact that i learned. ALSO THE EMPRESS, holy shit her VOICE dude i love her so much. im convinced the reason she doesnt get a boss battle is because she would fucking destroy you

Least favorite character: i kinda like all of them bro! the obvious answer is queen vanessa because shes the sole character who is portrayed as totally irredeemable, but honestly i dont even have a super strong hate for her, probably because of that portrayal. granted if i spent enough time in the parts of the fandom that wax poetic about “vanessa redemptions” id probably hate her a LOT more

The character I’m most like: i think being similar 2 most characters in this game would be seriously concerning since most of them try to kill you, so i don’t have an answer here. my personality is very bland and really couldn’t compare to anybody

Favorite pairing: it usually takes me a while to get into shipping in games, and none have really caught my eye yet? discotrain is a really hilarious idea though. like they dislike each other so much that it would make it hilarious if they were in love, especially because theyve been competing for at least 40 years? like, if you hate someone that much but you also spend that much time around them it feels like it becomes more of a <3< scenario. also i kinda want to kiss snatcher but not in a shipping way

Least favorite pairing: snatcher (or the prince) x vanessa, fuck vanessa shes ugly and she has bad posture

Favorite moment: i think my favorite moment is honestly the ending, not because of how emotional it is or whatever (because it isn’t) it’s just because it’s fucking hilarious. everyone decides to die so you have the heart pons to defeat mustache girl, and the game ends with hat kid knocking all of the major npcs of the game off of her ship with a broom. it’s hysterical. and then you just get to watch them float away in space

Rating out of 10: i love this game to bits so my biased answer is 10/10, however, i think a more reasonable reading would be a 7 or 8 out of 10, mostly because of the significant optimization issues that can turn a lot of people off. thats the only major flaw in the game imo (tho i could be forgetting something), a lot of critiques are moreso based on personal preference (story nitpicks which i don’t count since the game isn’t story driven, or complaints about how the main campaign is too easy, which i don’t care about because it’s fun). im no game designer so i couldn’t pick out any game design flaws, the only other critique that could be had is that the base game (without DLC) is really short, but if you have all of the DLC it doesn’t feel that way at all
