I was actually gonna do the menstrual cycle project so I can show my doctor how insane I'm posting when I'm in the luteal phase and how delusional I get when I'm ovulating but Twitter api doesn't let me make any GET calls for free and the basic subscription is $100 a month they're actually worse than Apple lmao like... who is paying for that... anyways I'm gonna scrape my own fucking profile I'm not respecting your robots.txt boss 🫡
#reason I'm saying they're worse than Apple is bc you can't post to the apple store unless you pay a $99 yearly subscription#but twitters api is MONTHLYY#cannot imagine how rough ios developers trying to make a Twitter companion app are doing#I wonder how IFTTT is faring#I think most of their userbase uses that to post Instagram photos to Twitter#anyways I have 2 weeks to work on this if I actually want to use it and show my doctor lmfao

Threading the Needle
Less than a single day after launch over 30 million people have joined Threads, Instagram's version of Twitter. The app is very much a minimum-viable-product copycat of Elon Musk's bird site, but their version of an MVP is still significantly more feature-rich and ready for prime-time than most other recent challengers to the throne.
The big advantage here is the use of Instagram's social graph to boost Threads signups on day one. The onboarding flow is as easy as "tap on your Instagram profile, tap on a second button to follow everyone you already follow over there, and you're done" which takes about fifteen seconds and is a significantly simpler experience than Bluesky which requires a highly coveted invite code or Mastodon which requires a whole separate blog post to explain. I think most users will discover pretty quickly that the people you followed for their photos or life updates are absolutely not the same people you want short-form text updates from... but how much does that really matter to Mark Zuckerberg who gets to boast Threads is well on its way to being the fastest growing social app of all time? Whatever gets you on board, baybee!
The app's single home feed is currently algorithm-heavy, mixing very few posts from people you follow in with a majority of posts from random users, celebrities, and brands platform-wide. The ratio is clearly way off here, and users have been loudly clamoring for a change. Adam Mosseri, Instagram and Threads' lead within Meta, has already publicly stated a feed of people you follow is incoming. Beyond that there are a lot of basic social networking features that are surprisingly absent from Threads at launch: Hashtags, usable search, post editing, post translation, alt-text on images — the group of features Mosseri has described as "on the list" feels exponentially huge. You have to wonder what the priorities will be and how long it will take to see some of these features come to the platform. Threads has a huge advantage out of the gate by tapping into Instagram's userbase of over two billion people, but retaining those users by listening to community feedback is going to be as challenging as building the app in the first place.
So it's worth keeping in mind Instagram's track record here. It's 2023 and Instagram still doesn't have an iPad app because it's "just not a big enough group of people to be a priority." Meta, one of the largest tech companies in the world, can't allocate any of their resources towards creating a high quality tablet experience for their app built around sharing and viewing photo and video? It's nonsensical! If the entire iPad userbase doesn't represent "a big enough group" to make a dedicated experience worthwhile, what does that say about accessibility features or other niche-but-important requests?
Assuming the state of Threads as it stands today will remain the same for an extended period of time, I see the app taking on a different life from just being "new Twitter." At launch, Twitter featured a reverse-chronological feed with no algorithmic intrusion, making it a great news delivery mechanism if you followed the right people. Those first few months and years of the service established the norms and future of how Twitter and the social web at large evolved. Third-party apps like Tweetie invented the pull-to-refresh interaction we see in every app on every device today. Users of Twitter began implementing hashtags as a way to more easily find like-minded community members via search, a feature which eventually became core functionality for the experience. But it all started with the launch product and timely updates from friends and proto-influencers. Twitter as a product has never really strayed too far from everyone's initial impression (despite Elon's best efforts).
By comparison, Threads is establishing its own norms in lieu of the aforementioned missing features. Brands are scrambling to figure out the right post-cadence and tone. Is posting breaking news moot in the face of an algorithmic feed? If your Threads and Instagram followers are the same, will posting images to a text-based platform feel redundant? These are questions which will be answered without intervention from Mosseri and team, and instead be dictated by the early adopters and community members who find hacky ways to actualize new methods of interaction with the toolset that is currently available in 1.0.
Am I excited that Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter has the best shot at being "the next big thing" given the many viable alternatives? Absolutely not! But there's no denying that Threads will be a hit despite Meta's track record for lying, stealing, and knowingly upending society. In the face of this, the internet-obsessed kid inside of me who loved to text 40404 to tweet in 2007 is excited to witness the birth and evolution of something that is accidentally unique because of what's missing instead of mind-numbingly samey because of what's already there.
I'm brendonbigley on Threads.
Catch you later!

Official Spreadable Post on Mirror Sites
If you have reblogged the version that is formatted like a personal update, please reblog this one for a much better worded response! It is quite simply a better post. That said:
This is the post about why you shouldn’t be worried over mirror sites.
What are mirror sites?
In short, websites that 'mirror’ content from another original site. You may have seen quite a bit of hubbub about them recently because writers and artists on tumblr have noticed other websites (tumbex, tumglr, etc) hosting their posts, and are not happy. Tumblr, Wattpad, Instagram, Twitter, and many other sites have been mirrored in this fashion for years. You can usually find them just by searching your URL.
Are my posts being stolen? Was I hacked?
Fortunately, nobody out there is personally or manually copy-pasting your posts. It’s code that simply ‘mirrors’ everything over. Many of these sites are known as “(site) readers” due to their differing layout, color scheme, or other accessibility aids. For example, readers blocked from Tumblr in their home country may access it through these websites.
This is not to say these websites are good; they’re just not hacking anything and probably don’t know you exist.
In short: it may be helpful to think of these as literal mirrors in front of Tumblr (or whatever site you’re concerned about.) They are reflecting exactly what you post onto a different location. In this way they are quite similar to sites like archive.org.
Are they making money off of my work?
As with every other website you’ve ever posted to: yes. I’m sorry. Wattpad is making fat cash off of your hobby writing. GoodReads has an unbelievable dollar value due to its vast userbase. This is why websites have ads.
Are they pretending to own my content?
Thank God, no! Each site claims only to show Tumblr posts in a different format. You are still listed as the original Tumblr poster! Have no fear about credit.
Is it dangerous to visit these sites?
Well, Tumbex kept kindly offering me the same pop-up ad featuring a totally naked woman despite an otherwise hardy adblock, so this really depends on your definition. Follow all normal laws of the Internet: NEVER sign in to your account on anything other than the official site, and NEVER download anything offered on a site you don’t trust. Use adblocker everywhere.
In that sense, these websites are no worse for you than kissanime or 123movies. Arrr.
I don’t personally think you have any computer maggots to fear from just visiting, though I wish they knew that I can remember what human boobs look like without their help.
How do I get my content removed?
This is pretty complicated. I recently tested making and deleting a post, which did not remove the post from Tumbex (it’s the one about rebageling in the image above.) I didn’t try the other sites, but, again, I’ve had enough peep show content for the night.
The good news is that Tumbex specifically is going down soon, and most websites are actively fighting to take down all mirrors. They want you on their official site, not on some copy that doesn’t include Safe Mode! So have no fear; every website you’re on knows and likely cares about these sites. There’s no need to inform them.
You may recall the recent AO3 reader drama. Much the same situation-- apps on the App Store sucked all the stories up from AO3, making them available to read for people who could not access the main site for whatever reason. People complained (en masse.) The apps were removed. I’d expect the same here; people just love putting their sites back up.
If you’ll allow me to be irritating for a moment-- Remember that anything posted to the Internet may be there forever, including after deletion. Your images show up on Google, your page may have been trawled by the Internet Archive, and anyone can screenshot Discord. Imagine that this next post blew up-- your photo, your rant, your writing. How would you feel? This is a good reminder.
I remember that AO3 stuff. Weren’t you freaking out about it and Wattpad?
Yes. I’m sorry. I was wrong. I am hoping this undoes that wrong just a little bit.
What if I hide my blog? What if I make it not appear in search results? What if I leave Tumblr?
Well, that would really suck.
In all seriousness-- people reported mixed results on hiding their blogs and different mirror sites, so it’s up to you whether it’s worth it. Making your blog not appear in search results means you will not appear in messaging search or tag search on Tumblr-- people will no longer be able to tag you. This is a big deal for writers especially! Even just setting your blog to dashboard view can make it harder to navigate, so make this decision with all information available.
And, of course, I don’t personally think you should leave Tumblr over this-- both because every other site has mirrors and because it’s been happening for years and hasn’t caused major damage yet.
Are you going to say something that sounds very rude about the monetary value of my current work?
Yes. I’m sorry.
There’s next to no profit in stealing unfinished hobby writing. If you’re not making money off of the poetry that you posted to Tumblr, it is highly unlikely anybody else will. Internet plagiarism for notes happens, but 1) it has nothing to do with these sites, and 2) it’s for notes. Plagiarism for money has no reason to target the unfinished scraps of a project online. This is true for the best work around.
...I wish there were a non-rude way to put it.
EDIT: Addition about people making money through Patreon, ko-fi, commissions, etc.!
I’m still concerned about lack of control over where my work is. This makes me uncomfortable-- I post my work to Tumblr, and I didn’t know until now that it was anywhere else. This still scares me! It sucks and I want to complain about it, even if there’s nothing else I can do.
Absolutely reasonable! You’re well within your rights to be annoyed that your posts are appearing anywhere other than where you posted them. This post is not meant to upbraid anybody for being upset. I encourage healthy, well-informed disgruntlement at the situation.
I have more questions.
Please direct them to my askbox! I will update this post if necessary.
Okay. Well, thanks.
Thank you for reading, and for hopefully spreading this about!
Stay safe, stay careful, stay dead.

Social Media Research Report: Part B
I have been working on a social media research report for the World Wildlife Fund. Below is a rough outline. Have a look let me know your feedback and stay tuned for the final report.
Title: World Wildlife Fund Social Media Report
Audience:
For this report, the main audience is the leadership board and the senior management at the World Wildlife Fund. The being said we have kept in mind that we also need to consider who the World Wildlife Funds audience is. Their social media will target people around the world who are interested in the conservation and preservation of nature.
Table of Contents:
1. Executive Summary
2. Introduction
3. Method/Research
4. Results
5. Discussion/Recommendation
6. Conclusion
Synopsis: WWF is an international environmentalist NGO founded in 1961; it is the biggest conservation organization in the world. The organization is active on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Looking at WWF’s social media platforms, certain strengths and weaknesses become apparent. By working on the weaknesses and bolstering the strengths, WWF will be able to better engage the environmentalist community.
Introduction: A comprehensive review of the World Wildlife Fund’s online presence and social media has been done to reveal how the WWF could better engage with their audience.
Methodology: Research suggests that there are a few key things that companies can do to ensure they utilize social media to the best of their ability. This research has been applied to the WWF's Website, Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram.
Results:
Where WWF Succeeds
1. Somewhat frequent posts
· WWF posts fairly frequently, though they do so in ‘clusters’. Within a span of 3 days, they will post 5 tweets, and then they could ‘go silent’ for up to 3 weeks before their next cluster. To summarize, they post frequently, but not exactly consistently. This could be improved but is a net plus.
· When the WWF does post frequently in the span of a few days they are good a varying the subject of their content. For example one day they might post about plastic in the sea, so the next day instead of another post about disposable plastic, they will post about deforestation.
2. Excellent photos
· WWF posts high-definition, beautiful photographs of nature, as well as non-ignorable photos of climate concerns. These photos presumably do a good job of both eliciting continued attention from existing environmentalist followers and attracting new ones.
· The photos posted by the WWF are very visually stimulating and great for catching the attention of someone who might stumble upon the WWF’s social media channels via the discovery page.
3. Fairly Wide Reach
· WWF has over 2 million followers on Instagram, 1.45 million followers on Twitter, and similar numbers on Facebook. Hopefully, this can be improved, but the organization already has a wide reach.
· The organization would be able to increase their reach by following more people themselves. Currently, they only follow 734 accounts on Twitter and 23 accounts on Instagram. By following more accounts it would provide more opportunities for engagement.
4. Increasing their use of social media around global events
· WWF’s most active day on social media takes place at the end of March to promote earth hour. Not only are they great at promoting it but posting reminders and updates as the hour takes place around the world, it is also one of the only days when they engage with their audience by retweeting posts that are about people or places participating in earth hour.
Discussion:
Where there is Room for Improvement
1. Follower/Community Engagement
· WWF appears to not engage with their social media followers. The organization’s environmentalist followers may start feeling like they have more of a ‘voice’ in environmentalism if WWF starts responding to comments. The organization’s Twitter account is following 3,065 accounts, but they are all environmental organizations and pro-environment public figures. The organization’s Instagram account is only following 22 accounts. Improving follower engagement would be an excellent way to ‘build community’ 1. This is especially important for an NGO because strengthening relationships with donors will likely keep the donations flowing, and also attract new donors.
· This could be done by posting surveys, an easy way for followers to engage with their content. Find out what your audience thinks and get their input by engaging them through simple survey questions. Below you will see an example of a fun one, posted by Women’s Health on Twitter. You can see that they had over 67 comments and 80 like, compared to their typical tweet with received about 1 or 2 comments and 10 likes. Instagram has the ability to ask ‘either-or’ survey questions which can be a great way to gauge your audiences knowledge or directly ask what type of content they would like to see more of.
In addition to surveys responding to people’s tweets, comments and posts is a very effective way for your online community to feel like they matter.
2. No effort to vary their channels
· Every WWF photo gets posted on all of their social media platforms. In order to have more dynamic social media, the organization could continue to post their most pressing messages to all of their platforms, but also pepper ‘supplementary’ content here and there between their platforms. Different social media platforms have different nuances and userbases, so posts should be better catered to the nature of the individual platform 2.
· If you want your audience to follow you on your various channels you need to vary the content slightly. Short video clips work great on Instagram and Facebook, where statistics and interesting facts are well received on Twitter.
3. Ineffective approach to communicating statistics
· For something like environmentalism, stats and numbers are so important. WWF’s followers will want to know how much plastic is in the ocean and would like to have a way to put that into context (‘as much as X football fields’, etc…). WWF will often list these stats using text, which is a far less engaging approach than the use of infographics, as shown below. Infographics are used on WWF’s platforms, but very rarely. Infographics are in fact 30 times more likely to be viewed than text content 3. Making the switch to infographics would be an easy improvement with a big payoff.
The above is an un-engaging way to communicate statistics.
The above is much more engaging than the first example.
4. Make social media channels more present on their website.
· On the World Wildlife Fund’s website, there is little mention of heading over to their social media pages. Doing this helps to promote engagement with your audience.
· Currently, the WWF’s social media icons are located at the very bottom of the page, you have to significantly scroll before you see them. By moving these social media icons to the top of the page it makes it more likely that visitors to the website will click on them.
Conclusion:
To summarize, WWF has wide reach, so to capitalize on that and even expand that reach, the organization needs to work on making their social media presence more engaging. This means engaging more with the online community by responding to comments and following community members, posting content that is better engineered to be engaging (infographics), and posting more often.

Instagram is an application and website that you can use to share your photos taking into account the world. The characteristic feature is the square format to which the photographs are adapted. Instagram has many filters that make our art more attractive. This forgive app is simple for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Instagram was founded in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Marek Krieger. The application state is derived from the fascination of the words instant camera and telegram. The accounts are held by individuals, celebrities (most followed users on IG) and companies that make public their deeds in this way. Authors of the most popular profiles often receive opportunities to earn money, e.g. by promoting a product upon their profiles. They can in addition to sell their photos. Currently Instagram is easy to get to in 33 languages and belongs to Facebook Corporation. It with briefly cooperated when Twitter. How reach Private Profiles on Instagram Work? By default, your Instagram account is publicly visible. all the photos and videos we upload to the Instagram are visible to everyone who enters our profile. However, not everyone wants their profile to be public. There is a solution for such people mood their account as private. When you switch your IG account to private, the content of your profile will be to hand forlorn to your accepted followers. No one who isnt bearing in mind you will be skilled to see any describe or video upon your profile unless they use something taking into consideration a private instagram viewer. deserted your username, bill and profile characterize will be displayed. how to view private instagram profiles Your enter upon will be required for someone to become your follower. This works in the similar quirk as, for example, tally associates to Facebook. If someone tries to follow you, you will have an substitute to either accept or deny their request. Or you can just ignore it. People you do not take will isolated look the declaration This account is private considering they enter your profile. How To View Private Instagram Accounts I have seen many people claiming that it is possible to easily permission profiles set as private upon Instagram and look their photos, I was intrigued and decided to question and I already know its possible, but in most cases its not that easy. The most legitimate methods are especially tiresome and can admit a lot of effort and time, whereas the fastest ways to look a private Instagram account can become quite annoying. allow me keep you the biggest twinge learning what works and what doesnt. Be careful though, there are sites that offer you a way to view private Instagram accounts but ask you to present your password, consequently the profile that is vulnerable is yours and not the one of the user you desire to access. Never meet the expense of your password to anyone. You Could admission Private Instagram Profiles By Searching Hashtags Yes, taking into consideration you herald your photos or videos and area hashtags, your photos can be viewed by the public, even if your profile is set to private. Of course, finding someone through a hashtag is a tedious and time-consuming process, because the search is sequential and is photo by photo. If this addict whose photos you want to see does not acquire many likes you will locate it difficult to locate their declare through the tagging method. upon the other hand you should know their preferences to know what hashtag to see for, as capably as knowing that the feed is until the end of time updated appropriately that the photo you are looking for can simply get lost in the content of users who have posted more recently. The Simplest mannerism To View Private Instagram Profiles Is To Follow Them As I have seen many times, starting to follow a addict is often tolerable for them to sanction my profile in just a immediate epoch of time, they with often follow me incite and I could see all of their photos. They well-liked me even though I didnt know them, because they simply wanted to acquire that one more follower. So this would be the first step I would take on to see a private Instagram. Does the user whose private profile you want to view not want you to see his or her photos? later perhaps you should think very nearly respecting their wish, but if you dont desire to do that, there are still some options left for you. But if curiosity really got the better of you, heres what else you could do: Ask a common gain access to to produce a result you their profile Create a statute profile and begin once this user, if he finds your profile interesting (you could create it taking into account his preferences), he will surely accept your follow request. Creating a pretense profile isnt hard, just time-consuming, you have to create certain to declare some real-looking photos, dont state your genuine details and get some additional people to follow you past you try to follow your target If you follow them on Facebook or Twitter and they ration their Instagram publications there, you could see them through these other social networks (you may be able to admission the posts their share, view private instagram but not their Instagram profile, consequently admission provided by this method will be limited to what this person is good to part outdoor Instagram) The Fastest Method Use A Private Instagram Viewer This is what worked best for me. It was fast, painless and super easy to pull off previously I didnt have to upheaval considering creating a comport yourself Instagram account or using my genuine one. The last method is to use a webAPP or mobile application in order to view private Instagram profile of your choice, photo and video upon the entire sum platform. The majority of these tools doesnt play a role but there is a couple that do. Heres a list and we will attempt to save it updated. #1 Accessing.Tools [currently beside for maintenance] This is our winner at the moment. Its a webAPP that works in your internet browser. What you have to complete is input the username of your target, nothing else and wait for the unique URL to be generated for you, click upon it and youre done. You will be practiced to use this method to see any private Instagram account. Other Apps: ViewPrivateProfiles.net, InstaSpy These are the names of some additional apps that we stumbled upon, but were unable to insist if they are 100% functional. REVIEW OVERVIEW Accessing.Tools webAPP Creating A deed Account Other Tools Creating A piece of legislation Account SUMMARY There is more than one habit to view private Instagram and none of them is "the right one", you should choose everything works best in your personal situation. Personally, I recommend the webAPP mentioned above, but it is quite a shady technique to use. The second best option would be creating a feat account. As you can see none of these options are perfect and they each have their pros and cons. 4 OVERALL SCORE SHARE Facebook Twitter {} Previous article Galaxy S10 Ideally Should have enough money An Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader Next article Jurassic World sentient review for iOs and Android RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Jurassic World enliven Hack Cheats 2018 Gaming Jurassic World liven up Hack: The Best Tips, Tricks, Cheats how to avow instagram account Tips & Tricks How To assert Instagram Account considering Blue Check laptop overheating Tips & Tricks How To end Your Laptop From Overheating Using Coins LEAVE A REPLY
