Truly I feel bad for Midnights because with all the rereleases I don’t think it got to be consumed in the same way it would have been if it were released pre-2020.
#just the rereleases plus the eras tour (which I love) took away some of the hype#if it came out earlier I would have been listening to it front to back even more than I have and I wouldn’t have moved on to Speak Now TV#I think it’s a pretty solid album. I think the 3am version is hands down better.#it’s also interesting because to me it’s less cohesive an album in my brain than a lot of her albums which you can like ride a wave through#ie red is the story of the death of a relationship with the hope of new things to come after going through hell emotionally#and reputation is the story of a woman falling in love privately even if the world around her has fallen apart and she’s been knocked down#speak now is very much a reflection of being 19/20 and just that insanity#and lover is the story of love as a concept#idk like I don’t think midnights will rank super high in my list of Taylor albums but some of the songs will?
