That's so real!!! And Severin wouldn't even question it, he might be the king who's in control of everything but your word has always been important not only to him, but also to his father and grandfather. You lived through 2 of the kings of his bloodline, and they have always ingraned in his brain to listen to you as you know better than anybody that ever existed in recent history.

He is so serious about following your word that he would not question the obviously added-on last part, only dragging you to his bed chambers to complete the wisdom you imparted. He'll only realize that it was a bluff when he wakes up naked with you nuzzling on his chest, content with last nights rendezvous.
