#I think embracing it has to do with the concept of voidpunk but I'm not certain

(prefacing this post with not all allistic people, and not all autistic people)
I feel like part of the reason you see so many autistic people who identify with non- or alter-humanity is because we have a fundamentally different understanding of things that society accepts as "just the way things are," especially if society made things that way in the first place and they're not any kind of universal truths or set-in-stone facts (think gender, social norms, conversation/communication rules).
Like with gender, we know that autistic people frequently have a different relationship with it than allistic people do. That's why there's so many autistic trans and gender non-conforming folks. Allistic people see boxes around that kind of thing that autistic people just don't, as much.
I think that's at least one big part of why there's so many autistic people who identify as non- or alter-human. Our brains don't always do that automatic "this is the way things are" thing that allistic brains do.
Allistic folks go "You're a human person, therefore your identity is contained within those terms," and a lot of times autistic people will go "I don't feel human in the way that I see other people experiencing human-ness. I feel a connection to something else, even with the knowledge that I physically am human. My identity cannot be contained in your terms in a way that fits comfortably for me."
Whether it's animals, concepts, objects, or whatever else, there are a lot of ways people can experience their identities that don't really mold very well to the shape of the box that allistics decided was meant to go there.

Camp Camp LGBTQ+ Headcanons but I have favorites and leave most characters out
Max (he/him, transmasc aro)
he thinks romance is an inherently hilarious concept and he's going through his "ew pink and girly things, im above it all" transmasculine overcompensation phase. it's also his hoodie. when he gets older he gets more comfortable in his own skin and likes to paint his nails (not just black but other fun colors too) and experiment with fashion
Nikki (she/her, cis lesbian on the arospec)
its her crush on Ered and the general confusion around the perceived importance of romance. thinks it can be cute and fun but overall doesn't care too much about it (her and max are arospec besties)
Neil (he/him, cis gnc pan)
a fucking menace to gender norms and aggressive about it. i think hes pan and doesn't care about gender as long as he can vibe with them and they're interested in science (or just listen to him go on and on really.)
Nerris (she/they/elf, non binary demi)
i am a firm believer in Nerris using neopronouns, especially elf related ones ones. i think she's demi and it takes a long time with quality bonding for them to feel romantic attraction and it is devastating when elf does
Preston (any pronouns, cis gnc mlm)
i don't know how to put it cohesively but i think preston is just so open and no fucks given about his gender presentation. i think she's the type to flaunt just how pretty and handsome they look like he has peacock energy imo. also "any pronouns" includes neopronouns and nerris 100% assigns her neopronouns (what are they? idk its up to god)
Harrison (he/it, void, bisexual)
OMG i am such a believer in voidpunk harrison like i loveee characters who feel non-human and i just think it fits him so well. it reclaims essentially being rejected from humanity and normalcy because of his magic and embraces it. i also think its bisexual with a lean towards men
Gwen (she/her, cis, aroallo)
i don't have much to say about her and david except that they're alloace + aroallo solidarity. i think it makes sense for Gwen as she doesn't seem interested in other people romantically and just prefers to write erotic fanfiction or go on dates with seamonsters
David (he/she, non-binary, alloace)
i also think it makes sense for David to be alloace because of Bonquisha telling him he's not exactly good in bed. she feels strongly about romance but is extremely awkward in sexual situations (him coming back from muffin tops with campbell looking so exhausted- i mean campbell is exhausting to be around but david looked so done LMFAOO) also the whole girlboss hat thing
Daniel (he/she, bigender, unlabelled)
i have no idea why. i do not have an explanation for bigender daniel i just think its real and canon. it was bestowed upon me by god themselves. as for unlabelled i just think she would kill you first
Jen (she/her, transfem, sapphic)
shes a t4t murder blood violence sapphic. not much to say here
EXTRAS:
i'm about to explain some lore that only exists inside me and a select few people's brains but. max being close with harrison who's dating neil and preston (who're also friends with nerris!) helped him gain more confidence in his gender expression because of how little they care about anything making sense, like, at all. i absolutely think that max learned how to paint his nails and put on a good outfit from Neil and Preston. he used to think that Harrison and Nerris were weird for being xenogendered and using neopronouns but now he'll pummel anyone who makes fun of them
Daniel and David share the same pronouns and are that spiderman pointing at spiderman meme
Gwenvid sounds impossible by this point but they still work. somehow. through otherworldly and queerplatonic means

okay so it's a really cool idea that basically means you embrace a non-human identity? like you create a persona or a clothing style that revolves around being a magical creature or a robot or anything non-human
it's a response to the whole "autistic people/aros/etc...aren't really human" by saying "if that is humanity, I don't want to be a part of it"
basically if you're part of a minority that has been described as not-really human (like how black African people were described as less human by the first white colonizers) you can reclaim it! I'm not gonna make a list of every minority that's part of it bc I'm not educated enough, and also there are groups that might think it does more harm than good for their specific group or just themself, but you get the idea
anyway you don't really have to do anything to be voidpunk, but's it's fun to participate!
I learnt about it through @arogimli but a lot of political aromantic blogs have talked about it, it's honestly such a really great concept to check out!
(and my joke was basically that since you're aro and autistic and you're also a cryptid/god/non-human creature, you might be an unvolontary voidpunk icon, but you don't have to be)
since you're aro and autistic, did you ever hear about voidpunk? it came from the aro community but isn't exclusive to us, and is all about embracing the "you're not really human" that some minorities hear. i think you might actually be a voidpunk icon, what's with all your cryptidness

and whenever we tell them “no i’m not human” they always are so quick to swat it away & mark it off as delusion or food for ridicule, partially bc a whole lot of ppl never rly bother to take a step back & genuinely think about things, bc that’s scary to them, like ppl need to do some serious soul searching
