AU where Yata is Mikoto's kid?
Are we talking raised by Mikoto or just with Mikoto as his dad? Actually the latter could be kinda interesting, like imagine AU where we fiddle with the ages a bit and say Yata's mom had Yata at a young age and Mikoto was his real father. Mikoto knows about the kid but never really tried to be in his life much at the request of Yata's mom, she was embarrassed having a son when she was so young and unmarried and thought having Mikoto around would be more of a burden than it needed to be. Plus even before Mikoto was a King he was still known as something of a delinquent and Yata's mom thought that if everyone were to know about his son then Yata could become a target. Yata sees Mikoto every now and again even after his mom remarries but it isn't often and he only has this vague image of his dad as someone who's kinda cool but largely absent, and maybe as a small child he dreams a lot about Mikoto swooping in like a hero to save him and really become his father and bring his family together.
Then in middle school Yata meets Fushimi and everything goes like in canon until the time they run into Homra in the city. Yata immediately recognizes Mikoto as his dad and he starts to say something when Mikoto throws the bottle and burns it, that's enough to shock Yata quiet as he stares because suddenly it's like his dad really is a hero. When Fushimi starts studying about the 'Red Monster' Yata knows that this is his dad but he doesn't say anything, it's not so much that he wants to keep it a secret as he doesn't really know how to say it – he can't remember the last time Mikoto checked in on him and he doesn't even know if Mikoto was aware of who Yata was when they met in the city that time. It's not until the surprise party that Yata really gets to finally be close to Mikoto, imagine after Yata and Fushimi are rescued Totsuka wonders who these kids are and Yata looks up at Mikoto, trying to find his voice and probably worrying that maybe he really has been forgotten. That's when Mikoto sighs and is like 'that's my kid' and just about everyone present is like wait what.
Yata would probably then be something of a minor celebrity in Homra, like word gets around quick that he's Mikoto's kid and of course that gives him a lot of trust and clout in the clan right away. Unfortunately I could see this impacting his relationship with Fushimi quite a lot though, Yata being even more respected than him right from the start along with this feeling like Yata lied to him by not admitting earlier that Mikoto's his dad. I think Yata would try to explain his reasoning there but it would be hard for him, he's not the best with words and either way it's hard for Yata himself to grasp the real reason why he didn't speak up. I think he'd apologize for not saying anything and consider the matter settled, while Fushimi is still quietly stewing about it and not saying anything. Plus for Fushimi it's like double the blow that not only is he afraid of Mikoto he's afraid of Misaki's father (and it's not like Fushimi's own father issues are going to help in this matter, if anything it makes everything worse) and it's like to Fushimi of course when the time comes that everyone realizes he's not suited for Homra Yata will abandon him because how could Yata ever choose Fushimi over his own father.
I think Yata's hero worship of Mikoto might be stronger here too, or at least I could see him trying really hard to be useful in Homra and get Mikoto's recognition as a way of like making up for all those years that Mikoto never really visited or anything. Yata's always secretly wanted approval from his father and now being in the same clan with Mikoto as his King it's like a dream come true to Yata, his dad is here with him and they can talk together and spend time together and Yata wants to show that he's grown up to be a strong and reliable person. I think though along with that it would probably hit him harder when Mikoto dies, because not only has he lost his dad but it's like Yata alone wasn't enough to convince Mikoto to stay, like maybe Yata was never as important as Totsuka (and I do think Mikoto would regret it in that sense, like he never wanted to abandon Yata and he does want the kid to grow up happy but he also feels like this is the only way out and maybe Anna's not the only one he apologizes to when Munakata's sword finds its mark).

Hello! Thank you for answering my ask with the female Misaki reincarnation au! I just wanna ask, what about if Saru was the one who retains his memories of the past and not Misaki? Like he suddenly remembers his past life and recognizes people around him (even Misaki who is now a girl). What would he do then? Would he try to get close to Misaki in this life? Also what would his reaction be to Munakata? (sarumi again, please and thank you)
Going back to this AU, imagine poor Fushimi's depression when he realizes that he's been reincarnated and yet his parents still suck. Maybe his memories don't kick in right away, he has strange dreams sometimes of a world filled with people he's never seen before talking to him but he thinks of these are just dreams and he never tells anyone about them. He's mostly just a sad and gloomy child until one day in middle school a new girl transfers into his class, Fushimi looks up idly at her and thinks that she's like a total shrimp and her short hair makes her look like a boy. That night Fushimi has a really strong dream and wakes up breathing hard and sweating, all of his memories returning and he realizes exactly who the new girl at school is.
So now Fushimi isn't sure what to do, because of course the first thing he wants to do is cling to Misaki but she doesn't seem to remember him at all. I could see this making him a bit depressed, like I think Fushimi would wonder if something's wrong with him that he can remember Misaki but she can't remember him, like did Misaki not really care enough for him or what if Misaki didn't want to remember him (and especially not having met anyone else from the past yet and not knowing if they remember anything so Fushimi doesn't know if only Yata chose to forget memories). Fushimi initially tries to stay away from Yata, probably worried all over again about Niki breaking their friendship but also still filled with insecurities that Yata might not have wanted to be with him. However despite Fushimi not even trying to initiate a friendship maybe it just happens naturally anyway, even though Yata can't recall her previous life she still just finds herself drawn to this sullen gloomy kid in class and wanting to see him smile without even knowing why. For Fushimi though this is super important to him, he tries to feel out a couple times if Yata remembers anything but when it's clear she doesn't Fushimi feels like here he has a second chance to finally do things right with Misaki and stay by her side without hurting her (he does have to get used to female Misaki but I think that wouldn't be difficult for him at all, for Fushimi Misaki is Misaki regardless. The only thing strange is seeing a Yata who doesn't freak out at the sight of her own boobs).
When the two of them start attending high school together they probably end up meeting Mikoto at some point and Fushimi can't help but feel kinda protective of Yata, like he almost doesn't want to let her see him because the old jealousy feelings are so strong. He's determined not to repeat his mistakes in this life though and so he sits all quiet and sullen when Yata starts talking about how cool Mikoto-senpai is. Fushimi probably starts having insecurities again despite himself, like he can't help but think well this is a different life what if Misaki doesn't love me in this life and I have to let her go. Then he starts hearing rumors about Mikoto and a 'Munakata-senpai' and Fushimi thinks wait a second. That's when a long-haired girl in glasses appears and informs him that she is student council president Munakata Reisi and she would like to scout Fushimi to join the council, Fushimi is just staring because this is definitely a girl but also very definitely Captain too (and then Yata spots them talking and starts to get jealous of Munakata, and Fushimi continues to be oblivious to everything and thinks that he's letting Yata be happy with Mikoto while Yata's worried that maybe she isn't feminine enough for Saruhiko and that Munakata's going to steal him away).

(1/3) - In the Yata-senpai verse, do you think Fushimi would still leave Homra? I mean just the fact that Yata is older than Fushimi would cause significant differences to their canon counterparts. Yata might see himself as Fushimi's self-appointed protector and figures its his responsibility to take care of Fushimi since he's the older one. I think this could potentially soothe the part of Fushimi that is afraid of Yata forgetting/leaving him behind.
Tumblr media
Following up on this ask, I could totally see Fushimi using the 'senpai' thing as a taunt. I think he would likely still end up leaving Homra in this scenario though, since Fushimi would still be afraid of Mikoto and I think still have those feelings like he doesn't really belong here. Being treated like a kid by everyone doesn't help things, like Fushimi's biggest asset is his mind and I could see him being constantly overlooked or ignored because he is such a kid, even though his ideas are sound and he's still a genius it's a lot easier to blow him off as just a child who isn't seeing the big picture. Also while I could see Yata taking some extra interest in Fushimi just because he feels a bit like he needs to protect his 'kouhai' this doesn't really make Fushimi feel any better or any less like he's being left behind. Yata still has his hero worship of Mikoto after all, and I could see Fushimi feeling very much like he's gone from being equals with Yata to being like a tag along kid, Yata no longer looks to him for amazing ideas or anything because he's too busy worshiping Mikoto's strength and coolness. If anything it makes Fushimi feel more left behind, like now when Yata pays attention to him it's because he's a kid who needs to be protected rather than as a mutual partner.
And then when Anna joins that doesn't help either, because Fushimi can see how Yata treats her the same way he treats Fushimi and that just rams it home even more, that Yata sees Fushimi as a kid and nothing more. Also not helping is that Anna's got her powers, like I could see Fushimi feeling a little irritated that here Anna's younger than him but also stronger than him. There might be a bit of jealousy on that end too, like while Fushimi disliked being treated as the 'kid' of Homra at least he was being noticed, now that there's an actual kid in Homra though everyone treats her kindly while mostly acting like Fushimi's a bit of a brat (and of course Fushimi's attitude is part of the reason for this, because he is a snotty little brat to everyone but Yata, but to Fushimi it feels suddenly like being in that big house again where no one cares if he's there or not).
When the betrayal happens I could see part of it being simply because Munakata is the first person who doesn't treat Fushimi as a kid, who sees him simply as a competent person in his own right and doesn't care about Fushimi's age. Yata's probably even more disbelieving when Fushimi leaves and I feel like he'd have a tendency to think Munakata manipulated Fushimi somehow, because even now Yata still can't help but think of Fushimi as that little elementary schooler Yata met when he was in middle school. I think Yata might be a bit more hesitant to fight him in this AU too, precisely because it is harder for Yata to think of them as equals and there's still all these old protective feelings that make it difficult for him to imagine throwing a punch at a younger guy. Fushimi of course loves to use the 'senpai' thing as a way of irritating Yata though, like especially if we go with the idea that Yata always kinda wanted Fushimi to call him senpai and Fushimi used to refuse. Now though when they see each other Fushimi will be saying all these poisonous words and trying to hit Yata's weak points all while smiling and constantly calling him 'senpai,' kinda exaggerating their age difference a little even as he tries to paint himself as an equal who Yata should hate, wanting to show that he doesn't need Yata's protection and never did.

Relationship dynamics between Aya and fem!Fushimi please and thanks! :)
I feel like Aya probably would have felt even more competitiveagainst fem!Fushimi, like not only are they the only two kids ofsimilar age in the family but they’re both girls too with similarexpectations placed on them. I think the family might have been morelikely to pit them as rivals in both academic and social circles too, like I can imagine Aya trying to brag that she has more and betterfriends than Saruhiko does as well as better grades. I think shemight then work a bit more to be accepted in school and it wouldprobably sting twice as much when she finds herself generally anoutcast among her peers, at first she tells herself it’s okay becauseit’s not like Saruhiko has any friends either but it doesn’t reallyhelp because deep down she knows full well that Fushimi doesn’t haveany friends because she doesn’t want any. And then when Fushimi meetsYata and they become close Aya would maybe try to look down on Yata alittle more, like okay so Saruhiko has one great friend so what he’sjust some stupid rowdy boy who’s not even from a good family, I’mstill superior to Saruhiko. I think that might make her jealousy evenkeener too, like they’re both girls and they’re both smart so howdoes Fushimi keep beating her, how did Fushimi get friends and powerand always end up being the one everyone’s interested in when Aya’sno different than she is. I think there might be a little lessadmiration there too, like in canon Aya actually thinks Fushimi’samazing and wanted him to pay attention to her whereas I could seeAya in this AU being more purely jealous, feeling like Fushimi reallydoes have everything she wants and Aya just gets frustrated and angryand wants to see Fushimi fail, wants to see Fushimi know what it’slike to be the girl who doesn’t have anything.
Meanwhile I don’t think Fushimi’s feelings towards Aya would changemuch, if she’s still raised in the same way as canon I think shestill wouldn’t see Aya as really anything more than an annoyance, like she doesn’t even think of Aya enough to consider her a rival andthe idea that the two of them could be friends or allies againsttheir terrible families doesn’t even occur to her. She probably findsAya’s cutesy act even more tiresome, since Fushimi would have had todeal with a lot more girls directly in school. I could see her havingno time at all for any of those ‘mean girl’ type games, like don’tcare go away leave me alone and Fushimi sees Aya’s act as justanother girl being so desperate for approval she’ll do anything, howpathetic. And it pisses Aya off because part of her can’t help butthink that Fushimi’s right, it is pathetic, but she keeps doing itbecause she wants to show Fushimi that Aya can be more popular andmore respected than Fushimi is.
