1. between 7 and 5, who did you bias first? considering he debuted first, this one goes for yeonjun.

2. between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to? bae suzy ♡ i've grown up with her and i don't think i'll ever stop ulting her

3. if you were to spend the day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do? i was hoping to not end up with this kind of question because i know i'm way too awkward and wouldn't know what to say/do. other than that, the only instance where i'd want to meet one of my biases is at a concert, that's it! with that in mind, and after some consideration, i'm choosing krystal because i feel like we relate to some degree with each other. and she'd show me cool places with beautiful architecture.

4. what is your favorite physical feature about 9? i've always thought her face was stunning. i just don't know how to explain it but yeah, beautiful face!

5. what is your favorite part of 6's personality? i'll say her perseverance (had to check the spelling). she went through the whole produce 101 situation, ended up in the final gg. and then she went on to debut with gugudan and had to go through her company not paying enough attention to the group as a whole. when her contract ended, she then chose to pursue a career in acting. and i think that's beautiful because you can see how much effort she puts to reach her goals.

6. if you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them? so many things i want to say... first, i'd like to tell her to never lose her smile because her joy is contagious. also, she is an incredible performer. whenever i watch woo!ah! fancams, my attention is drawn to her because her stage presence is amazing. and you can see how much she likes being on stage and performing songs with her group. so, all in all, nana you're such a fantastic performer and i can't wait to see you perform other songs.

7. between 1 and 2, whose closet would you raid? ... ..... .............. ...................................... it was a rather difficult choice because i like both of their styles but i'm going to go with suzy, especially her guess outfits. they're cute! and the carin glasses were amazing as well. oh and she's also a new longines ambassafor and i'm a big fan of watches so yeah :D suzy wins this one ^^

8. what is a style that you want to see 3 try? i don't know if it's already happened but i totally see yeri rock a retro (60s/70s/80s) concept. and i'm talking about both clothing and music. i think she'd pull it off well. i'm curious to see that

**this is no official list, this is just me stating the songs I really enjoyed of 2017

Twice - Likey // This song is the definition of a bop, the girlies once again provided a revolutionary song with an album of the decade. This era made me fall in love with all 9 of the girls once again and made me bias Momo (previously a Dahyun Stan, then the J line came along). Either way, this song is way too good to pass up.

Blackpink - As If Its Your Last // I swear to god the as soon as Jisoo appeared on my screen my wig flew to Korea. This song has so much buildup that the chorus is so perfect with the timing. Not to mention that Lisas rap is one of the most fire things a female rapper has spat in 2017.

Sonamoo - I (Knew It) // WoW. Personally this is the most underrated yet most amazing song of 2017. I barely knew about sonamoo and then I heard this song and I instantly fell in love. This song is one of the most innovative that the genre of Kpop has to offer with the latin infused beat. If you have not checked out this song you are missing out on one of the hidden gems of Kpop.

Girls Generation - All Night // The girls are back, as the first song in their album states. It is so sad that this might be the last comeback of the girls, but they truly delivered an extraordinary final bop. The girls show such a confident and sexy side proving that they can truly embody themselves and how far they have come. Also thank Jesus for Seohyuns ad-libs throughout the song, God really knew what he was doing.

T-ara - Whats My Name? // Oh my these girls really came back after that stupid scandal had finally been proved false, dropped an amazing title track, and took home a win for it. Thats what I call overcoming the odds and proving people wrong. This songs complements the vocals of T-ara and combines EDM beats with pop infused sounds, it is a song of perfection and nothing less. I am beyond excited to see what the girls have to offer under their new label.

Lovelyz - Now, We // This song as well as wow really got me into Lovelyz. At first, I will admit, I didn’t like this song, and then suddenly I was embraced by the cute and cheery chorus that I found myself dancing to it in the car on the way to school, work, well... everywhere! The girls outdid themselves with the chores too, which is an aspect that you wouldn't expect as much from such a cute job! I’m so excited to see Woolim push these girls to the moon and back in 2018.

Red Velvet - Red Flavor // Red Velvet released such bangers this year and it was so hard to choose just one, but I have to say that Red Flavor has the slight edge of Peek-a-Boo for me! I was so scared that we wouldn’t have a huge summer bop since Sister disbanded :(, but I was shook when Red Velvet really pulled this off and killed charts with their bop of the summer. PS Wendys ombre is the best ombre I have ever seen.

EXID - DDD // I show this song to everyone, and I mean everyone! This song is so so so creative and it hypes me up so much. I have found myself loving every track by EXID so much more than I already do simple because this song is so good. I think that this song is one to show someone who has never even heard of Kpop and really make them appreciate the genre as a whole. I can’t wait to see ot5 on stage again once my seolshine is all better!

AoA - Excuse Me // MY BABIES STAY DELIVERING BOPS. Okay, yes, I'm literally biased with this choice as they’re my lets, but hear me out. This song is genuinely so good, they are not talk singing, this song requires good vocals in order to function. The song has such a pretty and flows instrumental that makes the beat constantly stay stuck in your head. This song will be the last AoA song with OT7, but I cannot wait to see my girls comeback with another song in the upcoming year.

Brave Girls - Rollin’ // I’m so surprised that this song did not gain more attention worldwide. The dance is unbelievably sexy that I was so caught off guard, but this has to be one of the best composed songs on 2017. The beat is so catchy and has so much depth to it provided throughout with the different tones and sounds that string together in perfect harmony. I even showed this song to one of my coworkers and she loved it so much that it is in her main playlist. This song in my eyes is THE gem of 2017 and provides a sound that any audience can enjoy. (ARMYS, I feel like you would love brave girls)

Album Review -  GOT7’s Flight Log: Departure

Less than a month to go and this album will be turning a year old. As an iGOT7, this is my most favorite album by GOT7 so far, that’s why in the recent 6th Gaon Chart Music Awards, I was so happy and proud that they won Album of the Year – 1st Quarter. They are the first ever group from JYP Entertainment to win such award.

In celebration of that (and of the upcoming album Flight Log: Arrival), I’m going to do a track-by-track review of this awesome album by GOT7, which the members themselves helped in the production and composition. This is a not-so-serious review because I am a fan and I might be biased, but I’ll try not to. *Disclaimer: THIS IS FROM MY OWN POINT OF VIEW. I based the meaning of the song from the translations so they might not be accurate.

1. Fly

Lyrics & music: earattack, The Kick Sound

This title track from this album metaphorically talks about the feeling of being in-love: The guy still can’t believe that the girl of his dreams is finally his. But the girl is still afraid to be loved so he tells her not to worry and that they will ‘fly’ together.

The music complements really well with the lyrics. There are series of beat present in this song that gives you specific vibes: the first gives you the feeling of excitement before ‘flying’; the second feels like you’re starting to go up; and lastly, the chorus makes you feel as if you’re actually flying.

Despite the nice beat and irresistible sound, the vocals were not emphasized that much. I would have preferred if they showcased a bit more vocals in this song, especially Youngjae’s, which could have made the song better. Still, the song is still recommendable to listen to.

2. Can’t

Lyrics: Jinyoung, Mark Music: Secret Weapon, Jinyoung, Distract

This one talks about a guy falling head-over-heels for a girl and that he can’t deal with his feelings anymore he has to confess to her already. Jinyoung’s songwriting skill is worth recognizing because he described the feeling in a very detailed way instead of just saying the words straightforwardly. Mark also helped composed the rap parts of this song, which are mostly literal, but the overall meaning of the song still complements each other.

The music is catchy at first listen. I personally didn’t like it at first because it lacks something in the music and I can’t exactly tell what it is. I listened to it many times before I completely appreciated it.

Rating: 6.5/10

3. See The Light

Lyrics: Yugyeom, Mark, Frants, BamBam Music: Yugyeom, Mark, Frants

‘See The Light’ does not actually talks about light itself as I first saw it, but it’s actually how the guy sees his girl as someone that shines brightly like a light that even other guys appreciate her and he doesn’t like it. He wants her to tell him that she’s only his, which simply leads to one word: possessive. (hahaha)

I really liked it at first listen, but some time, I noticed there’s only two chord progression. I was expecting more sound to come off or make it a 4-chord one, but I guess the song is already awesome as it is.

Rating: 7.5/10

4. Fish

Lyrics: Daniel Kim, Defsoul (JB), Park Jiyeon, Dr. B Music: Daniel Kim, Defsoul (JB), Park Jiyeon

The lyrics of this song also has the same meaning with See The Light, it’s just that the girl is extremely popular among boys. However, I just don’t see the connection of a fish tank to ‘being trapped under your spell’. They could have used more fitting words that sounded sweet yet unique.

Even though the title disappoints me, the song is a well-blend of hip-hop and sweet pop vocals.  Both the rap line and vocal line are given equal emphasis and has really left a good impression on me the first time I listened to it.

5. Rewind

Lyrics: Ars (Youngjae), Ju Chanyang Music: Ars (Youngjae), Ju Chanyang, Command Freaks

This song could probably mean about a guy wanting his girl back because she broke up with him, but he’s so into her he wanted to rewind everything and bring her back to him. It leads me to a single-word conclusion: obsessed (haha).

The song already sounds great, but I think it would be greater if there’s more intensity to the beat or melody. Vocals and rap are balanced, and the “chuchuchu” part seems unnecessary but it added appeal to the song.

Rating: 7.5/10

6. Beggin on my Knees

Lyrics: Young K (DAY6) Music: Hyuk Shin, 2xxx!, Jusén, GG Riggs, Matt Heath, DK

GOT7’s labelmate Young K from DAY6 made a really great job in this song. As most fans see it, it’s a painful song about how a guy is willing to do everything for the girl but she doesn’t even care about him. Instead, she’s playing with his feelings, giving him false hopes and he’s still falling for it even though he knows it already. (Ouch!)

The music is so upbeat that the real meaning of the song is hidden. Let’s forget what it actually means and just simply jam to this song because it’s so good!

7. Something Good

lyrics: Defsoul (JB), BamBam music: Andrew Choi, 220, Defsoul (JB), Mingsician

Finally, a song that’s simple yet sweet and meaningful. It’s about a guy appreciating the love of his life, and nothing more stressful. The rap is not intense and goes perfectly along with the song’s mood. The vocals are so soothing. This song is ‘something’ really ‘good’.

There’s nothing more I can say. It’s just perfect!

Rating: 10/10

Listening to the whole album gives me a really great vibe. Considering the time of its release, it was already spring in Korea, and I think the album complements to the season. Each song has unique features but goes well when put altogether.

Overall Album rating: 8.5/10
