If I had a nickel for every time DC let Cassie play detective, I’d have five nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s funny that it keeps happening. Here’s a compilation of all the times Cassie got to be a detective:
Young Justice 80 Page Giant (1999)
Cassie and Bart end up in a noir murder mystery. While Bart deals with the client, Cassie searches for clues, only to realize there’s no murderer at all. Cassie cracks the case and saves the day… only for “Mr. Allen” to get all the credit.
Wonder Woman (1987) #176
Cassie searches for clues as to what happened to Vanessa Kapatelis. She finds their first solid lead in Vanessa’s diary, while using “those detective skills” Robin taught her.
Wonder Woman (1987) #178-183
Cassie searches for answers about her father’s true identity. Everyone lies to her face, so she won’t find out until much later that she was right on the money.
Teen Titans (2003) #47
Cassie volunteers to join the group investigating the murder of Duela Dent. Tim and Dick do most of the sleuthing here (being the trained detectives and all) but she does assist at the crime scene, and later helps try to figure out what attacked them there.
Trial of the Amazons: Wonder Girl (2022)
In the wake of Hippolyta’s shocking murder, Cassie is tasked with finding the culprit. She interviews suspects, contemplates motives, figures out alibis, and eventually finds the killer.
