People say that GMing is like herding cats but honestly when I’m GMing I often feel like my dog, parading around her favourite pull toy so that we’ll be goaded into playing with her, except here the pull toy is just parts of the PCs’ backstories.

(And my players, god bless em, are like my dad, who can’t resist playing with the dog, even if he’s in the middle of an important work conference call.)
