the more I think about it, the more Laudna's ending feels to me like Woodes Roger's hallucinations of Eleanor: faceless, silent, a passive accessory in her own relationship, acting out an unobjectionable domesticity, perpetually in agreement with her partner without any needs or ambitions of her own, nothing about her and her struggles worth mention or reflection even in triumph, simply the idealized wife of someone more important
at least Eleanor was dead
#Rogers and Eleanor of Black Sails fame#I saw a post from someone who really liked Laudna for herself that already expressed some of this idea of her having a Happy Ending™#but it felt very empty and unrecognizable to them in how it seemed to reduce Laudna to just an accessory to Imogen and nothing more#and I quite agreed and I've been thinking about it and about Laudna a lot and I might write a larger post bc I had early hopes for Laudna#and her character is one of my biggest struggles in this campaign but I realized that this is what it all reminded me of#Critical Role things#CR spoilers
