Me reading another overblown, exaggerated fearmongering statement about “science violating the laws of nature” written by a journalist or book author: …well someone has been watching too many Saturday morning cartoons, lol

#people are so brainpoisoned by our earliest depictions of scientists being like #amoral shitbags who fuck with things willy nilly for no real reason with no emotion #that they forget that actual scientists are ummmm people lol #we’re hyperbolic caricatures to them not their neighbors #not folks who feel strongly about a field and will think carefully about things and check each others’ work #not folks who ALSO want things to be done in as safe and ethical a manner as possible #I said “’they’re not evil they’re just scientists’ of a faction at our D&D table on Sunday and the guy next to me said ‘No difference there’#and like… buddy…#ugh… this is my soapbox issue I’ll stop lol
