ooh book qs! 4, 17, 23?
Thanks for asking <3
4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?
I read duologies by both Natasha Pulley and Samantha Shannon that I absolutely adored!! So am curious to check out some of their other books! Also Allen Bratton who wrote his debut 'Henry Henry' which was a retelling of Shakespeare's Henry V and was fantastic, weird and emotional so I will definitely pick up his future books!
17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?
Actually going to say 'Henry Henry' again! I thought it would be a very surface level romcom retelling but it was so much more than I expected and viscerally moved me (in both positive and negative ways...) Also 'Call Me By Your Name' by André Aciman, obviously been a cultural phenomenon for years that I was reluctant to get on but I was surprised by the fact that it actually was as good (maybe even better) than people said it was!
23. What's the fastest time it took to read a book?
A day... Although so far it has actually only been one book this year and it was Shakespeare's sonnets! But I did read a number of books in two days including 'Mr Loverman' by Bernadine Evaristo, 'Murder on the Orient Express' by Agatha Christie (my first of hers actually!!), and 'The Sunshine Court' by Nora Sakavic
