dnd is so cool. I want my best friend to teach me to play again but we need a couple more people for a dnd party and that’s hard to arrange during the school year. I’d just ask to join an existing game or one at the library but I don’t know how to play pretend and I’m not very good at it so I’d like to practice first with people I know

#don’t say something like ‘oh you don’t have to be good’ ‘just use your imagination’ ‘it’s just playing pretend wdym ur not good at it that’s #not a thing’#bc like I’m not talking down on myself or feeling very bad about it it’s just like. I never played pretend as a child so I literally don’t k #know how #I’m sure I can learn and it seems fun but it is something I have to learn bc my brain doesn’t currently work those mental muscles #I remember a friend asked me to play horsies with her in elementary school with these little plastic ponies #she had a whole storyline going and I didn’t understand what she was talking about or why so I just moved my horsie and said neigh the whole #time #because it was a horse and horses go neigh #but I’ve learned many different ways to joke and how to care about my friends and those things have added much to my life #so I would like to learn to play pretend #personal #about me
