Ope, and next week we seem to be staying with this story of the actors instead of changing up again. This has been the real narrative all along, and it tracks well with the stuff I noted in my binge watch--the changing names, the performances getting better as the episodes go on, the way the physical intimacy differed so much and built to be stronger across each story. All of that makes perfect sense if they're an actor pair working together across multiple shows and getting more seasoned and comfortable as they go. Such a smart concept. I'm curious if we'll learn when they started dating and about the arc of some of those previous breakup and makeups against their BLs. I hope so!

and also a thing i never hear people talk about is how he was wrong about ALL his friends here, not just jade, which is more interesting to me. john got mad enough to pass out and beat the shit out of caliborn. rose did an acrobatic fucking pirouette off the deep end and went to fight jack, and after dying to him, her dreamself actually went on the suicide mission to blow up the sun that she had planned (except she didnt expect her waking self to be dead, after that development she assumed this mission was just going to obliterate her forever). jack (bec) noir wouldn’t hurt jade and she ended up becoming the most OP of the four kids that she had to be kept tranquilized for pretty much all of act 6

tldr: dave isn’t a misogynist but is easily influenced by his environment and the people he’s surrounded by in order for himself to feel loved. also in the post-scratch universe, dave is actually a figure of moral integrity to dirk which is a cool way to flip it around to see the other side

the weirdness and unconventionality of lawbepo are major charm points to me tbh!💕 i also really love how lawbepo elevates law’s character! it’s not that i didn’t like law before, but to be honest, i feel that a weakness of the character is that he is easily put into the “stoic badass with a tragic past and a secret heart of gold” stereotype. which is cool and fun, and it’s obviously a popular trope for a reason, but every anime/manga has this type of character tbh, and if nothing more is done with them, they can be kinda generic and one note. and it’s especially hard if the character is a side character, so it’s unlikely the creator will spend more time with them. unless it’s like for fanservice or something. so i like these types of characters but i don’t usually love them because of that.

that was how i used to feel about law, i liked him and thought his design was cool but that’s it. but everything is different now- like maybe it sounds insane to say, but considering “what if that bear is not just law’s vice captain, but also his first love from childhood? his babygirl? his ride-or-die wife?” has seriously like opened my third eye when it comes to law tbh lol, and i have you and your incredible art to thank for that! 🙏❤️‍🔥💕💯🔥✨

Not much to say about it other than than the MUSIC IS SO GOOD!! I loved it so much and it sounds sick playing loudly in my earphones, especially since its very different from the music in other episodes.

Mephisto made every ending of each episode just go so hard, and i feel like this season also kinda needs that feel, especially how the ed starts during the episode's last min. I get that ppl think it is "op is aqua pov" and "ed is ruby pov" and it does fit that theme, but it just doesmt go as hard as mephisto :/)

(Not me seeing the tumblr posts for this ep and the official art and just letting the most littlest squeals because there is family around but i physically cannot contain myself)

SoC was barely released for a month how'd you get burnt out already 😭

I’m not 100% sure either but I think it’s gotta do with how doing the dailies are sort of a bit much for me.

Like Project Sekai dailies are simple for me. “Play” a few songs (aka have it be automated), watch some ads for a few mats, and maybe spend some of my tokens on the event store.

For SoC, the normal dailies are the extra rewards for the mats need to grow ya characters. But there is also the Clash mode, the Tower mode, the Spiral Destiny mode, and the events with time locked stories.

And like. ya also need to play through the levels in those events manually in order to see all the stories. (which after work I’m usually super tired to do that on most days).

And this is also including the main story as well too, since they are separate stories usually. (Yes there is an auto mode for each battle, but ngl. The AI be low key not the brightness and I don’t have enough mats to make my characters stronger. So atm I HAVE to manually play the stages/other modes. There are Sweep mode and the Octopus Can but those are limited)

With Project Sekai. The Event Stories are the continuation of the Main Story. And if I missed it or don’t have enough energy to read/watch them. I can always look it up on YouTube to watch them (or on the game itself but like. I don’t trust the EN translation tbh).

Yes there’s only a limited amount of Auto Plays ya can do a day, but it’s enough for me to do all my dailies consistently without having to do it manually. And the only time I have to play it manually is the Challenge Show Mode. Which isn’t much.

And yes this also means I’m not doing the Co-Op bonus, but like. I’m very neutral towards the battlepass. So I honestly don’t care about that.

And sure I’m not maximizing my mats this way, but as long as I still get a good amount every day. It a-okay to me~

It build up over time too, since I’m not constantly spending them to improve my points/cards upgrades. So like I have a good amount of Mats atm in Project Sekai.

That’s another thing too. The cards building is very easy. Just level the cards up. I don’t really need extra mats to make them necessarily better. Once they are maxed. I can used them to get a bit more points. I don’t have to get a weapon nor gear to make them “stronger”. I just stuff them with music sheets and Bam! Done!

Basically. Project Sekai gameplay be more lax than SoC. Which isn’t Bad! Again I LOVE SoC GAMEPLAY! I was a Hugeeee Fire Emblem Awakening Fan back in my days! (And the characters be pretty compelling to me so far too!)

I just. Tend to get tired mentally from work (especially since it’s been super stressful this past two months) and so I don’t have enough energy to do all the dailies nor story progression. ;v;

(Plus whenever I play SoC for at least an hour my phone start heating up)

Sure I’m still am drawing somewhat consistently (I try and get something somewhat presentable once a week, but that’s due to art inspiration hitting super hard that I gotta draw it out)

But that’s usually during my weekends. So I’m not drawing everyday like I’m doing with these mobile games. Ya feel me? •3•;

okay so my opinion here might be a bit controversial but i'm so cray cray i'm so brave i'm such a warrior in this fandom i'm just gonna say it:

i love their dynamic and i've been saying they need to fuck since, like, the moment they started fighting on screen. the sexual tension is immaculate, please, just fuck already god- half of their problems would be solved asap if zoro pinned sanji against a wall already and fucked him so hard he spoke french.

i like the fact that although they're always arguing, they understand and trust each other when it comes to serious stuff. like yeah, we fight but we are not letting this affect the crew as a whole. they're just two very proud bastards who hate admitting they don't actually dislike each other that much. their whole dynamic is great in canon!!!! love to see them. i enjoy them a lot. they need to fuck already (saying this tho does not mean i ship them to an extreme extent. i just know gays when i see them).

however!!! i think my dislike towards the ship comes mainly from the fandom. because personally i enjoy them in canon and i like the content some people make of them (god knows i reblog zosan more than it looks like), but... the 90% of the content and shippers just make them so out of character they stress me tf out. i see a zosan shipper and i never know if they're the good kind or not and i start shaking with fear. and i'm a person that believes in "ship whatever tf you want bc everyone has different tastes and i'm not that crazy to fight over fictional characters and what other people like", but, y'know, bad experiences from my past idk.

they're not even in my top 10 op ships, but they exist. they're there. they're fun. they're cool, i guess. i feel very indifferent about them and if i see a cute/hot zosan thing i'll reblog it. but i don't seek content of them, y'know (unless i'm in a very sanji nsfw mood and the horniness takes over my original preferences. sometimes i just want sanji to be topped, i apologize).

but yeah, i'm very "meh" about them and the thing that makes me not really like them is the fandom, mostly. because there are some zosan shippers out there that just....................... they remind me of kiribaku shippers saying their ship is queerbait when it's very obviously NOT queerbait and claiming them to be canon when they're obviously not canon and etcetcetc. that, and the fact that a lot of people write/draw them extremely out of character. personally, for me soft zosan (i love soft zosan bc i'm a softie) could only work after a long-ass development and they'd still act like the idiots they are. that being said, nsfw zosan works every time in every universe bc, again, the sexual tension is tangible, man. and somehow people manage to do it out of character????? lmao.

people are SO obsessed with this ship bc it's easy to sexualize and easy to write because "haha boys fucking haha fighting haha" which is uhhhhhh not my thing, really. like i do love nsfw zosan but it also has to be written extremely in character and- idk i think that it's just on me.

SO, I think the "Ghost must drive a truck" thing is a combo of "He's a big guy, so he HAS to drive a truck" and "He drives a truck at the end of Alone, so, naturally that's the only vehicle he would ever drive.

Like he’s fairly closed off and keeps himself hidden, for many different reasons, so for him to have this massive truck that really draws attention to himself, it feels like they just don’t understand Ghost as a character (or that they’re not even writing about Ghost anymore tbh)

hi op! i saw your post abt people whitewashing miguel and honestly i completely agree. as nice as it is to have more poc representation, whether or not said poc are drawn properly is a straight hit or miss in the spiderverse fandom

on my own blog i really wanted to make a post about that exact thing concerning hobie, specifically his nose and lips. artists will make his lips smaller and give him a straight nose, a button nose, even a hooked nose- anything other than the flat, wide nose he has. like the blatant aversion to drawing afrocentric and latin features is so obvious :/ and it's annoying at this point

like tbh if you can't learn to draw characters accurately and not replace their features with others or lighten their skin.. maybe you're not a good artist! maybe you should stop drawing 🤷🏾 just my opinion tho, idk idk

:O Hard to say when we're not even sure who'll be writing the next AA game.

I think the only thing I can expect for certain is that Athena will be the one undergoing character development, since that was a hanging plot point in SoJ. That doesn't necessarily mean she'll be the player character for the entirety of it (Apollo finished his character arc in a game where Phoenix was the main character for a large portion of it) but she will probably be the central focus by the end.

Considering how long we've had without an AA game, I also fully expect a gimmick to draw in new players. Potentially this will be a new setting, a new main character, or a new mechanic--I'm leaning on the side of there being a heavier supernatural focus (or at least superhuman, like Athena's hearing and Apollo's eyesight) but I don't really know :o

I'm sure there will be returning characters too, as well. Hopefully Gumshoe this time > >

As for my feelings on SoJ, that ended up being wayyyyy too long so it's under the cut.

It is the best looking Ace Attorney game outside of the spinoffs, and in particular I think the character models and in-game animations are at their best, so that's one huge point for me. I also loved pretty much everything surrounding the seance mechanic.

I thought each case was consistently exciting. Phoenix traveling to a different country with a radically different culture high-key appealed to me, and I thought the higher stakes of his trials fit that feeling that he was far from home; on the other hand, I liked that the filler cases that were literally closer to home employed themes from the previous games that are more personal to the characters (expanding on the legacy of the Gramarye family in 6-2, developing Athena and Simon's relationship in 6-4.) I also just liked a majority of the supporting characters---I found most of them pretty memorable and fun to watch, especially the culprits (aside from.... ehh, Paul. Ga'ran wasn't my favorite either post-outfit change, but I was going nuts over Inga at the time so I didn't mind as much.)

I liked how the returning characters were handled. Maya got to finally make it as a spirit medium and was acknowledged for all her hard work, after the first game in the franchise ended with her powers only working as a deus ex machina. Ema's crabby attitude was believably dialed back to RftA levels now that she had her dream job (with Apollo justifiably being nervous seeing her again,) and she struggled with themes of being professional and sticking to her duties vs. not wanting to see the justice system screw over her friends again, which I saw as a believable character arc for her.

And I liked Nahyuta! I know a looot of people did not, and while intellectually I can see why, sometimes I feel like I must have been playing different games than them with how much hate he gets compared to other prosecutors in the series. I found his ultimate theme of controllable helplessness, masking itself as restraint and enlightenment, to be very fascinating. And tbh I liked how chill he is in the courtroom, which makes it more notable (especially for comedic purposes) when he slips up and shows how passionate he actually is as a person.

His biggest flaw as a character to me was that his arc was underbaked. There needed to be more time to unpack everything he'd done by the end, and the things that were at stake for him just, weren't quite impressive enough when put against the things he'd been an accomplice to. But I feel like he was so close in that regard, as I can imagine a million little ways they could have fixed it.

Something I liked the most about this game, probably the biggest point that left me emotionally compromised towards it, was that it brought back some of the themes introduced in Apollo Justice that got dropped in Dual Destinies.

I left AJ frustrated by the fact that Apollo's first forays into being a lawyer featured him being manipulated, ridiculed and led along, mostly by his own mentor (Phoenix Wright, no less,) alongside being an orphan whose mother just... didn't want him to know she was still alive dgfkfkhdkgf and none of this actually got addressed by the end of the game. and then Dual Destinies completely ignored it, meaning I was never going to get closure on it.

But SoJ touched on those feelings again and actually gave me some closure. Looking broadly at what happens in the game--Phoenix finally does show that by this point, he trusts Apollo with even his own daughter's safety. Apollo finally does vent to SOMEONE about how hard it was starting out as a lawyer, and confronts a parental figure for abandoning him. He confronts Phoenix in court, and his relationship with Phoenix even seems to be characterized as "different" from that of his other allies. This is mainly because Phoenix is a mentor to Apollo more than a friend, but I like to think their bad first impression of each other was a contributing factor, too.

Yes, many of these are not exact follow-ups to Apollo Justice. A lot of them either touch on the story vaguely, or invent new scenarios to make these themes relevant to this specific game (like Apollo's backstory in Khurain was obviously not envisioned during AA4.) But considering how old Apollo Justice as a game was by this point, and that the writer evidently did not expect everyone to have even played it, I at least understand the decision to tie these themes to new plot points.

Also, I really like Dhurke, so I don't reaaally mind that he's a new addition to Apollo's backstory. Also like the idea that Apollo might have followed Kristoph as a mentor for so long because he bears a superficial resemblance to Nahyuta---cool-headed, confident, hair over his shoulder...

Like it's a bit weird to wrap my head around that Apollo spent his formative years in a different country/culture and this wasn't touched on in previous games, but I'm just not too stressed about it cause I got the core feelings I wanted dfkgsfdkk and Apollo just, has good chemistry with the new characters,

I could go on and on about all the little things I liked, but those are my big points. I think the game gets a lot of backlash nowadays, some of it fair and some of it I feel is unfair. But me personally, I liked it from start to finish, and the things it did wrong didn't bother me enough to take me out of my enjoyment of it.

Tbh it’s affecting a lot of TR stans’ minds to believe Shinichiro was still a bad guy like ?? I thought we’re collectively agreed that none of these characters are either good or bad? Funny cuz no one is saying Shinichiro was a perfect saint guy, but we can somehow grasped the idea of what kind of a guy Shin was from other characters that spoke highly of him. “Bad role model” “excuse violence” - Idk man. Shin brought Mikey to Black Dragon’s last gathering is not equivalent to teaching or educating violence, am I wrong? Like what do people expect? This is a manga that revolves around delinquents after all and most of them are involved heavily in it so don’t expect to see sunshines and rainbows all the time. Aside of that, reading Chapter 270 makes me feel heavily bad for Shinichiro, as he worked hard to the bone to manage his family’s basic needs after their parents passed away, while both Emma and Mikey were just a kid. Being the first born and an elder brother holds a huge responsibility - in fact, he even had to bear all of that by himself. Furthermore, after Grandpa Sano passed away and Emma ran away from home, it’s possible to think all sort of emotions he tried to conceal were piling up, and it got even darker after Mikey passed away a month later. Shinichiro was the parent figure of Sano family, yet she and the people agreeing with her wanted to come at him just because he took down some disrespectful losers at the club :/

Seriously though, are we gonna forget what Mikey did to Sanzu? are we gonna forget the day he wanted Kisaki to realize his dream + said he wanted darkness and he didn’t care whatever method Kisaki used - then suggested Kisaki to join Toman even after Baji, Draken and Mitsuya were fully against it? are we gonna forget that he massacred all of his friends in the future timeline and the fact he never hesitated to show that side of him? are we gonna forget how he let his dark impulses took control of him and took South’s live and put Takemichi in koma? Healing in RP threads: Where do you draw the line?

I always been interested in this particular since it’s pretty varied in perspective. Some people want to want the ‘OP’ structure of having instantaneous healing/high level healing spells that can return life and limb. While on the other hand, others have a balance beam of taking said measures, and giving it the ‘Trade off’ for overuse would just wind up destroying/poisoning them anyways.

And tbh I can see both sides of the story. You have those who love using injury as both a bonding/personal learning experience for their muses. The said circumstances of enduring this level of suffering, rising through it, only to let these be a reflection of stakes end up a solid storytelling tool

On the other hand, characters from certain series are just more in terms of physiology on the physical and spiritual scales. Hell like this comes as the natural to endure, and the loss/growth of limbs, healing from spiritually poisonous injuries and otherworldly endurance/defenses simply comes with their package

Where do you set your goal post?

Personally for me, Sora and the KH mythos at large. I do hold it as a series where characters can be no strange to the loss and growth of limb, spiritual injury and tampering with their very concepts. KH is a series that dealt with all of this, alongside giving you a firm look into the hell they can cast and wrought with their very hands. Not to mention, the same souls being able to dish out exactly what they punish in equal measure.

So I imagined special heights would need to be required. Reattaching yourself if you’re bisected, being able to heal your ears to full use if they get popped from some hellish attack, etc etc. So high potency healing spells and means of protecting the self are pivotal as they’re also tools given to the characters in said series.

Which is why I open for powerful healing tights to really assist getting Sora out of grueling situations. He certainly does get roughed up, and could use companions great in all fields for an upper hand.

That said! Personalized wounds he earned comes a bit different. It’s more like a scar upon his concept that leaves lasting wounds. So primary instances like the KH1 Sacrifice/Ansem/Twilight Xemnas Injuries/X-Blade injuries would be those permanently lasting scars.

joel - prince of life: love the idea of him being a prince of life!! not only for the color scheme (lol shrek colored man) but also because that just works really well for his character!! i feel like he might work as a lime blood but since theyve got that secondary part about drawing in friends i dont know if itd work? idk something about goal-focused, kind-hearted, but also harsh and rude, and how he makes teams well no matter if its with other greens&yellows or with fellow reds. though im not aware of if limes are still around in this au u_u
