Helly / Helena

As of the third episode, I actually think we are back to having Helly on the severed floor as everything just hits different with Helena and I do not think she is that good of an actress. But I have been making the rounds of my favourite YouTube channels for breakdown videos and discussion, many of which keeping my delusion afloat that Miss Huang is somehow the daughter of Mark and Gemma, and a theory came up which would have otherwise never occurred to me. That the reason Dr Reghabi can feel confident in being 'better' at reintegration post-Petey is because she has had practice at it on somebody since and that person is actually Helena. That…would account for the fluidity of personality between them and why it feels to me like a kaleidoscope between scenes as to which could be which. And I love the idea that Helena would be doing this on the down low behind the back of her family while nonetheless being perfectly nonchalant about the option. (Like of fucking course she would just check in to this like no big deal, with a doctor who is still actually employed with them even if secretly leading a resistance. The LAYERS of motivation in this shit with everybody, everyone is using everyone.) We have already seen in her retort to her dad that she is the true Lumon person who fears-no-one. And it would account for the writing being so casual about already reintegrating Mark if that is not even the big reveal. So we have the potential here of parallel journeys between Helena and Mark as hopefully the first-ever success stories of reintegration, resistance lovers. To be clear I believe her exploring of this to be entirely self-serving -- a back door for her into the Helly life including the connection with Mark -- she can already afford to be in a do-whatever-the-fuck-she-wants mode as future CEO. Helly is a distilling of her true rebellious nature, but at the moment she has no overarching reason to go against the legacy of her family. The opportunity to do so in future is nonetheless being nurtured. Even if I turn out to be wrong just thought I would share with you guys as relevant to shipping.
