Something very random and very small I just adore is the caretaker(s) taking whumpee shopping after they’ve been rescued. They’ve been gone for so long, they need new clothes, new things for their living space, general necessities and the like. Stocking up on foods they enjoy they haven’t had access to in forever, buying them little things they see and like just because they deserve to be spoiled. I think it’s sweet.

#I often think of Zander’s moms taking him shopping shortly after he’s brought home #he doesnt fit a lot of his old clothes and they don’t have all his favorite snacks in the pantry #and they want him to feel comfortable and safe and familiar at home #but being out in public is so foreign and overwhelming to him it makes him panic
