I've seen a lot of like, discourse in the Stranger Things fandom and I don't like it. There's a cool video of Eddie cosplayers just like, having fun at a con goinng around and it's spawned some mouth breathers that claim to like the show spreading a lot of hate because of it. Saying things like "Eddie would hate you guys" and "You're ruining this fandom/Eddie" which just makes me wonder, like are y'all watching the same show?? I feel like you guys have some weird gatekeeper version of Stranger Things I want no part of.

Stranger Things has always been for self proclaimed weirdos like Eddie and pretty much anyone outside of the preconceived societal norms. Eddie's literally called Eddie 'The Freak' Munson, and in all honesty, people who are saying shit like this would probably have been friends with Jason and Angela, not him. He'd be taking in the people you bully and telling you to fuck off, quite honestly. If you're gonna keep spreading this bullshit, take it somewhere else?? Or keep it to yourself, cause haven't you heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all? If this is somehow controversial, I don't give a shit. I honestly don't care what y'all think of me because I know I'm right. If you still don't believe me, some trans dude on the internet, take a look at what David Harbour himself said a few years ago about the show.

Hopper himself would punch you assholes in the face, so if you have a problem with Stranger Things fans literally just enjoying themselves, you can take it up with him.

Like y'all wouldn't have survived in 2010s tumblr and it shows. You think this shit is "too much" and "ruining the fandom"? Ask literally anyone about the "fandom war of 2012" or "Mishapocalypse", like you clearly have never been in a fandom before and it should fucking stay that way.

soooo I assume you want the story of why I consume spn fandom content but have never seen the show.

well I’ve been on tumblr since 2015 so the effects of superwholock haven’t been lost on me. i did watch sherlock, i knew what the mishapocalypse was early on, i argued with my spn-watching friends about queerbaiting in like 2017, etc etc. and of course i was there for November 5th and I know the whole story behind that. i also watch Sarah Z for some of the context I missed

but November 5th 2020 is what inspired my friend/mutual shanti @transsexualbloodlust to get back on tumblr! we’ve met through a high school mock government program but haven’t seen one another irl since early 2020. we’re also in a group chat together with other people from that program who talk a lot of politics.

anyway. Nov 5th rolls around and everything is fucking chaos. our gc is going insane over bleorgia and the putin rumors, but then 5x18 drops and i think (?) shanti mentioned it to the chat as everything else was going on. i, being on tumblr, knew exactly what they were talking about because it was on my dashboard.

flash forward a bit and shanti fully rejoined the fandom and tumblr after being largely inactive on it and was almost exclusively on spn tumblr. we became mutuals and i’ve gotten daily hordes of spn on my dash ever since. so I’ve seen the valentines day celebrations, the 1 year anniversary, the 100k destiel fics on ao3 celebration, misha “coming out,” mostly everything since Nov 5th!

of all the fandoms to consume solely secondhand i think spn is def one of the best ones :)

17, but quite a few are just one-shots. I only have a couple long-fics, mostly because my poor ADHD brain is cruel to me.

190,052, but if I hadn't orphaned my old (and embarrassing) Skyrim and Sherlock fanfics it'd probably be closer to 300,000.

(And to be perfectly honest, my most popular fic is by far my worst. I spend so much more time carefully crafting for Eunoia than I do anything else, but the little following it's picked up has made it worth more to me than all the kudos and comments on "honey.")

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do! I used to be terrible about it, mostly because the vast majority of comments I once got was hate (I wrote for a weirdly unpopular wlw pairing). Now I make it a point to respond to every single one when I can, even the short ones, to thank them for taking the time. It means so much.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

It was a drabble for the r/dragonage writing thread, actually! The premise was a font in the Black Emporium that would show your OC the outcome of a decision made differently. I wrote Eliana Lavellan from Eunoia discovering what would have happened if she'd fought with Solas in Crestwood until he told her the truth... and its outcome was worse than the timeline where he left her and kept his secret. You can read it here (it's about 1200 words, nice and short).

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

My various Solavellan pairings don't get happy endings. Evelyn Lavellan was more of a narrative tool to explore Solas with, so her ending was cut short. Eliana doesn't have her ending yet, but it will be bitter and painful. My happiest ending was for my Bella/Rosalie pairing for Twilight - Bella became a vampire and lived happily ever after with her wife.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I don't, unfortunately! Since my days on tumblr and FFNet, S*perWh*L*ck left a terrible taste in my mouth when it came to crossovers. I'd be open to it one day if I can find fandoms chill enough.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

As I previously mentioned, yes. In my Bella/Rosalie fic, I made it a point for Rosalie to love all the parts of Bella that weren't conventionally beautiful. My Bella is also a dark-skinned black woman, and the intersection of racism, colorism, and misogyny where it concerns attractiveness was something I thought worth including because I didn't see enough of it in fic. I wanted to highlight all the things that don't get enough attention or are actively reviled, like hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, natural hair, soft bellies, areolas and vulvas that aren't perfectly symmetrical or small, pubic hair and armpit hair and little hairs around nipples - things that I love about AFAB people! I got a lot of comments on my smut chapters calling Bella disgusting, or me nasty for choosing to include those traits. I deleted every single one.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

So much. I love exploring pairings or power dynamics that people wouldn't necessarily consider, like a strong female warrior Lavellan domming Solas, or Solas topping Blackwall. I wanted to show a black woman in an interracial relationship with a white woman where she got to be soft and loved gently, where she got to be quiet, bookish, and looked after instead of expected to be the loud, strong stereotype that we pin black women into. I wanted to show the power of masculinity in an elven mage who loves a warrior woman (Solas/Cass), or the nurturing side of domming in a relationship between a pan giant and a bisexual elf (Iron Bull/Solas).

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of, tbh. I turn up to fandoms a decade late, so usually by the time I get any traction the fic-stealers have done their dirty work and leave me alone.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I haven't! I hope to one day write a fic in Greek for my best friend, though. They deserve to read about Solas in their mother-tongue.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, but have done some plotting with aforesaid Greek friend.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Solavellan, absolutely. Any variation, honestly - I've loved m!Solavellan, f!Solavellan, as well as any variation including nonbinary, trans, or other interpretation of the relationship. Solas sees and loves the spirit, and I love the idea that its vessel doesn't matter so much to him. I headcanon him as a he/him agender bisexual, for what it's worth.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I've technically marked i couldn't whisper when you needed it shouted as complete, but it cuts off right before Adamant and was intended to be a full Solavellan story. However, I just didn't care for my rogue f!Lavellan OC very much, and didn't think she matched Solas well. I developed an OC that I enjoyed writing much better and rolled with it. So, I'm sorry Evelyn Lavellan, but your story is frozen with the two of you happy in bed. Solas will never break up with her so long as I don't write that part, right?

What are your writing strengths?

I love dialogue and crafting character voices! Getting a comment that I've managed to portray a favorite character so well that they can hear their voice in their head as they read? Priceless.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Exposition vs description. I want to show instead of tell, but developing the right environment for a scene can be tough for me. It's so much easier to write that the characters are cold and the ground is wet than to wax poetic about dripping leaves and frosty air. But I'm working on it.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I'm obsessed with it. I love little bits sprinkled through that make sense with context, and culturally speaking it would feel wrong not to sometimes! I'm also the type of person that's always been obsessed with languages, and instead of becoming fluent in one I've learned a smattering of a whole lot. So any opportunity to sneak in some French, Welsh, German when it makes sense? I'm taking it. And don't even get me started on Elvhen or Qunlat because I will sprinkle that shit like biodegradable glitter.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Okay I'm gonna flout this question and just write my fandoms in order:

Sherlock (circa 2010 - 2014)

Twilight (obsessed from 2005 - 2010 but didn't write for it until 2019 or 2020 when Midnight Sun released)

Dragon Age (March 2021 and easily the most fanfic I've ever written ever)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

My favorite one to write was probably i'd wanna be felled by you, but my favorite to reread is Eunoia. It's most likely the most honest, least presumptuous thing I've ever written, and it's easily the longest thing I've ever attempted. I'm very proud of it.

1. why did you choose your url?

I needed a catfish url for my catfish blog! In the stage where I was writing and just hypothesizing about having a catfish blog I saved some urls from songs of theirs I liked, and idk I just liked this one!

FOREVER. God I can’t remember. I just googled when the mishapocalypse happened because I was here for that and that was 2013, but I also remember some blogs casually posting about 1D on x-factor so I’ve at LEAST been around since 2010. I’ve just had various blogs through the years.

Nope! I never queue things, really. I enjoy logging on, being chaotic, and then leaving :)

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

To post Summer’s a Knife! That was the whole purpose.

Because I have to look the part of a hockey blog somehow!

Oh that’s nice! Alright, let’s see...

1) I’m a big fan of all things true crime, especially podcasts. I was allowed to watch true crime shows and read true crime books at way too young an age (for the French people around here: I blame it all on Pierre Bellemare), so it’s nothing new, but post Serial there’s now so much quality content to listen to 🙏🏻 My faves are Criminal and, of course, My Favorite Murder.

2) I’ve been on Tumblr for... well, I’m not sure exactly, but long enough to have basically seen it all — yeah, including Dashcon, the Mishapocalypse, SuperWhoLock, you name it. Before last year, though, I’d never had a Tumblr account dedicated entirely to fandom and I must say that it’s been quite a different — and very nice! — experience <3 

3) I lost my sense of smell and taste last year due to Covid. I still haven’t completely recovered — particularly, the smell and taste of coffee haven’t been the same since then. (It was so terrible at one point that I couldn’t even drink it anymore. Uugh.) It’s better now, but I’m really, really missing it.

SO in august 2013

back when homestuck meetup culture was in full swing and the CTstuck Facebook group was the fun goofy world where everyone fled the Bostonstuck drama™ and every upd8 was a race to see who could start the discussion thread first

we would all met up at Hubbard Park and the Crystal Mall and Nomad’s Arcade and there were themes or whatever to the meetups but mostly it was an excuse to get up in cosplay and bring pizza and Faygo and play CAH and sing I’m A Member of the Midnight Crew and host goofy photoshoots with your pals

and every year at ConnectiCon there were massive photoshoots run by a group of sprite cosplayers who were frankly superhuman in their crowd control abilities alone

I hosted a meetup at the beach which was a great opportunity also for everyone to break out BEACHSTUCK COSPLAYS (I was terezi because my bias has not changed, I still have the red bikini top)

and a bunch of people from CTstuck and RIstuck drove down to Misquamicut and we splashed around and took cosplay photos in the sand and walked across the parking lot of the Windjammer to get ice cream and then of course you gotta go to the sandy arcade right? and play DDR and the like, trade in some tickets for laffy taffy, and-

oh.

there was a claw machine.

in the claw machine was a superman plush and ok here’s the thing, you know those goofy ass yaoi face crops? like the senpai equivalent of ah*gao? these guys

they were the funniest thing in the world to a bunch of sixteen-year-olds who existed on tumblr and so WHEN WE SAW THIS PLUSH-

i think it took us about eight seconds flat to name him super-senpai. i’ve never seen a group of humans work with such cohesion before or since.

did we get super-senpai out of the claw machine? plead the fifth. did we spend every single quarter we had between the ~15 of us trying? Oh yes.

ANYWAY at dinner that night we all got this REALLY GOOD IDEA for all of us to change our tumblr icons to super-senpai at once. (this was also four months after the first mishapocalypse which in retrospect might’ve had something to do with it)

“So, where does Claire want to meet you?” Dean asks carefully, eyes still fixed on the street.

 “She- um, she asked if I want to come over to her place…” Sam mumbles, apparently knowing exactly how Dean will react to this answer.

 “Sammy, you know the rules,” Dean sighs and casts him a quick look. “You guys haven’t been friends for that long and I don’t know Claire’s family.”

 “You could drive me there and meet them, though!!” Sam tries again. “I told Claire you usually don’t let me stay over at someone’s place until you know their family, and she said you could just come over with me and get to know her brothers.”

 “She, um… she lives with her brothers?” Dean’s definitely curious now, and the mischievous grin he catches on Sammy’s face tells him that his tiny devil of a brother knew he’d get this reaction out of him.

 “Yes! It’s not like it is with us, though, like you and I are a little family. Claire has a dad, but he writes books or something and spends a lot of time travelling- and her mom left them when she was a baby. She’s living with her two brothers and they take care of her.”  Sam grins triumphantly. He knows exactly that Dean can’t say no to meeting Claire’s brothers under these circumstances, he knows Dean would love to talk to young people who are taking over the role of a parent for their sibling.

 “Well… when were you two thinking about meeting?”

 “YEEEEEES, DEAN THANKS!! You really are the best,” Sam starts squealing.

 Awesome, now Dean has to deal with a bouncy, hyperactive puppy for the rest of the drive… He just hopes Sammy won’t act like that every day until this little get-together actually happens.

  “Dee, I need your help. Can I come in?”, Sammy’s voice comes through the door to Dean’s room. From the way it sounds, his face is squished up against his big brother’s door as he waits for Dean to let him in.

 “Sure thing, sasquatch. But beware that your beautiful brother is not yet wearing a shirt.” Dean shouts back as he starts browsing through his closet to find a nice-but-not-too-nice shirt for the occasion. “Just so you’re warned and not get a sudden heart-attack because I’m too gorgeous for you to handle.”

 “I’m pretty sure you got something wrong there, grandpa,” Sam giggles as he barges in and flops down on the bed. He’s still in his pajama as he watches Dean put on a black shirt and his favorite blue flannel. “Ah, I knew you’d wear this one!”

 “That a problem?” Dean asks gruffly as he checks his hair in the mirror. “You aren’t even ready yet and we’re supposed to be at Claire’s in, like, half an hour. What do you need my help with?”

 “So, I just wanted to see if you’d actually wear this flannel. And… you know, since I have the same one, I wanted to ask…” Sammy trails off and looks at Dean with huge hazel puppy eyes.

 Dean grins and answers Sam’s unspoken question, already knowing what his little brother wants. “Yeah, sure you can wear the same one. Wouldn’t be the first time we’re looking like twins,” Dean laughs and before he can even send Sam a wink, his little brother is up and out of the room to get changed.

 Dean goes to fetch his wallet and keys and once he reaches the door, he finds Sam already waiting for him in a black shirt, his very own blue flannel and blue jeans. To be honest, Dean loves little moments like that. Sammy is 11 years old and still wants to look like his big bro, and if that doesn’t show how much he still sees him as a role model, Dean doesn’t know what does. To be fair, he had worked very hard to be a person Sam could look up to one day, so he doesn’t feel like denying himself to be proud about things like that.

 He can’t suppress a tiny, happy smile as they make their way to the car. To Dean’s surprise, it actually only takes them ten minutes to reach Claire’s street and park the Impala. Sammy practically pulls Dean out of his car and towards a small house, where Claire’s already standing in the front yard and waving at them frantically.

 The closer they get to the girl, the bigger her smile seems to get- and as soon as Sammy is close enough for her to reach him, she pulls him into a hug. “It’s so cool you could make it! I’ve been really excited for today, there’s so much I want to show you around the house. I think I want to show you my room first, and then the tree house,” she breaks her rambling for a second to offer Dean her small hand in greeting. “And my brothers have been very curious about you, Dean. They can’t wait to meet you.”

 Dean can’t help it, Claire’s bubbly mood is infectious and he finds himself following the kids towards the house with a big smile and a giddy feeling in his stomach.

 He honestly has been looking forward to today a lot. He never had the opportunity to talk to someone his age who is caregiver and psychological parent to their younger sibling. Yes, he spent hours on the internet chatting with people and looking for tips and pointers on how to handle a situation like that, but it’s nothing compared to being able to talk about your experiences face to face with someone who actually gets it.

 Even before they reach the door to the house, it slams open and they are greeted by a small guy with brown hair and a smirk on his face. He looks quite a lot older than Dean, maybe 28? “Ah, you must be Sam and Dean. Welcome to the Casa Novak. Come on in!”

 Dean’s only two steps into the house and already feels absolutely welcome. Upon entering, he finds himself in a rather large, bright hallway, filled with tons of shoes and coats. It’s one of the things Dean has always appreciated in other’s homes- a little derangement makes a place feel a lot more lived-in and homey.

 Once the brothers are out of their boots and jackets, Claire immediately starts pulling Sam towards the staircase that leads up to the second floor. Sam shoots him a questioning look, but as soon as Dean nods his permission, the two bolt up the stairs with matching grins and he’s left with the tiny, mischievous looking guy.

 “So, I’m pretty sure I forgot to introduce myself? I’m Gabriel Novak, the oldest one,” he grins and gives Dean a friendly pat on the shoulder. “My younger brother Castiel is in the kitchen, preparing some drinks and snacks. Follow me.”

 Dean follows the bossy little dude into the living-room. It’s an inviting, decent-sized room with a huge leather couch, an ancient looking armchair, a few wooden cabinets, and plants and flowers crammed on every windowsill and empty surface.

 Dean sits down on the couch and Gabriel takes a seat on the chair across from him. “Hey, first of all, thank you for inviting us over. Sammy’s been really fucking hyped up for this for days,” Dean says.

 “Claire has been, too. She started writing several lists about what to do once Sam finally gets here,” Gabriel snorts and rolls his eyes. “It’s been really hard to get her to calm down, especially today.”

 “Yeah, you can say that again!” A deep voice interjects.

 Dean’s head shoots up towards where the rich voice came from, and his eyes lock with incredibly blue ones. Blue eyes he has definitely seen before.

 And that’s when it hits him; the dark hair, the blue eyes, the stubble, the cheekbones. This is the exact same guy he has drooled over on Sammy’s first game a week ago. And he’s standing right in front of Dean, in sweatpants and a simple black shirt, hair in disarray and balancing a plate of cookies and pale-blue teacups on a tray.

 And he looks fucking gorgeous.

We recently found out that Otabek is “well versed in all kinds of social media” and I am SHOOK. Somewhat inspired by the ask that altisetsky replied to, here’s the fic that no one asked for, but you’re all getting anyway.

Really, he doesn’t. But Otabek’s left his laptop open on the kitchen counter and it’s unlocked. Otabek is in the shower, so Yuri won’t be disturbed. It’s not like he’s going to go through his personal files or anything, but that’s unmistakably a tumblr dashboard, and Yuri is intrigued. The thought of Otabek having a tumblr is almost of ludicrous as Otabek DJing in his spare time, and – well. Now everyone and their mother has Otabek’s tracks downloaded on their Spotify or iTunes.

So he crosses the room and investigates.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Yuri mutters as he opens the blog in a new webpage and begins to scroll through the posts. It’s all him, all of it. There’s posts from his Instagram, official photos from competitions and aesthetic edits interspaced between countless answered asks. How hasn’t he come across it before, this blog that that seems to be the one stop shop for anything Yuri Plisetsky related? Admittedly it’s not like he frequents the fandom side of tumblr often, his own blog is mostly bands and aesthetic and cats, but still – how hasn’t he come across the blog that has his last name for its URL?

He can’t risk following it. However, Otabek has anonymous enabled on his ask box, so Yuri can still ask him stuff. This is going to be fun.

I’ve been a fan of Yuri ever since I was around 12 years old, and I started the blog when I was 13. I’ve been here a while – seen a lot of changes in that time and I even made the mistake of being online when the Mishapocalypse happened.

On How an FAQ Hides an Identity (OR: plisetsky is Otabek Altin and I’m going to prove it to you)

So I’m sure that anyone who’s spent a certain degree of time in the Figure Skating corner of tumblr has come across the blog plisetsky at some point. For those unfamiliar, it’s a Yuri Plisetsky appreciation blog run by some mysterious guy in Kazakhstan that never reveals much about his identity. However, I’m going to delve into the blog’s archives and dissect their FAQ to prove to you that this Mysterious Kazakh Guy that we all know and love is, in fact, none other than the world-renowned skater Otabek Altin.

After months of hiding their relationship behind closed doors, Otabek and Yuri finally told the truth about their relationship when Yuri posted this photo to Instagram last May. This was also the same time plisetsky posted a post titled Life Update: I have a boyfriend. His FAQ was also updated at the same time. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

Question 1 of his FAQ says that we can call him “B”. Those close to Otabek call him Beka (Yuri is especially fond of the nickname) so it’s not unreasonable to suggest that “B” is a nickname of a nickname, so to speak.

He also states that he’s 21 in his FAQ. That’s the same age as Otabek.

He’s FROM KAZAKHSTAN and can fluently speak Kazakh, Russian and English (just like Otabek). I rest my case.

He skates, and once stated in an ask that he’s not overly fond of ballet. Sound familiar?

He’s a massive fan of Yuri.

He’s never posted a selfie, and refuses to whenever asked.

Likewise, he won’t share any of his other social media accounts. Otabek has an active presence on Instagram and Twitter and so on, and although it’s not unusual to keep your tumblr separate from the rest of the rest of your online presence (looking at you, fandom blogs), he’s always flat out refused to share any of his other social media accounts. For someone with over 26k followers, you’d think that creating another Snapchat or Twitter for online tumblr friends to follow you on wouldn’t be too much to ask: you’d be wrong. Whenever asked, he’s always said that he’s “too busy” or “can’t deal with the hassle” of creating other accounts. Or he’s too busy with training and even if he did create other social media accounts, his true identity would soon be revealed. Either or.

In response to ask, he said that he’s got two siblings. I’m not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but IRL, Otabek has two sisters. #otabekfactoftheday

Once, way back in 2014, he posted a photoset of some DJ decks with the caption “today’s work”. It mostly went unnoticed as the World Juniors happened later that day and the post was buried underneath photos of Yuri’s skating. That might have been deliberate, I don’t know, but either way, we all know that Otabek likes to DJ in his spare time.

Our online presences are strange in a way the world hasn’t seen before. You can make a Twitter account, call yourself Charlie and say you’re from LA when in reality you’re Alex from Luxembourg. Our online personas take years to perfect as we craft them into the best versions of ourselves, showcased through Facebook status updates, Snapchat stories and photos posted to Instagram. You can be whoever you want to be online, and whether it’s good or bad, the vast majority of your audience won’t be any the wiser. I could be reading into this far too much, but the possibility of plisetsky actually being run by Otabek is there and is a reality.

Otabek pauses with a piece of bread halfway to his mouth, his usual calm expression replaced by a mildly panicked one. “I left my laptop on the kitchen counter this morning, didn’t I?”

“Yes,” Yuri says, a grin spreading across his face, “you did.”

“You saw?”

“I saw.”

Otabek puts his bread down on the plate. “I’m sorry,” he says. “I understand if you find it weird. I’ll delete the blog if you want.”

“What?” Yuri asks. “I don’t want you to do that!”

“You don’t?” Otabek looks relieved, and Yuri can’t say he blames him. After all, it’s not every day that you’re told that your boyfriend has discovered the secret tumblr you’re running about how wonderful everything about him is. “Are you sure?”

“I’m sure. But I do think that you need to tell your followers the truth about who’s actually running the blog everyone seems to be following.”

“reblog this post if you aren’t a peasant” this was basically like a Really Popular post.. for whatever reason.. that went around a lot back in the day. I think it had a lot to do with the trend of calling people peasants as an insult which was like a weirdly popular thing too

mishapocalypse aka the Worst fuckening thing. So Misha Collins is an actor in the tv show Supernatural, which we all know is already a yikes fandom, and this mishapocalypse Mess(tm) was basically a time period in which Everyone In That Fuckening Fandom changed their profile pictures to Misha’s face and they’d put the picture all over posts and it was terrible. Everywhere you looked you’d see that man’s face and they thought it was hilarious

the year when “your fave is problematic” blogs became popular and were literally Everywhere so I feel like this is a little straightforward, but yeah basically a bunch of blogs popped up that were Dedicated to creating discourse over every single character from anything ever. Some were focused on one character, one fandom, etc. Others were just general. It became a trend to like... find the tiniest moment that was “problematic” and blow it up and be like “see!!!! they’re problematic!!!!” basically because this website hates happiness and has to villainize everything

the era when progressive discourse was “gay men are terrible and just like heteros” okay this one was Really Really Weird and I didn’t get too much of it on my dash but I remember seeing really confusing posts that would talk about how gay men are priviledged and how they use that priviledge to look down on other sexualities or something and they were pushing this rhetoric that leveled them on the same wave as heteros

find john green I’m not 100% clear on this since I’m not a fan of that book and I’ve never seen the movie, but I feel like people were trying to find him on tumblr or something

sonic for real social justice THE BEST FUCKING THING EVER. Okay so this blog opened up one day, and literally within the span of a few hours had garnered so much attention and a ton of followers. It was basically like... an anti sjw blog except all of the mods on the blog used a sonic character as their persona. And then there was drama between the mods they started fighting and banning each other it was fucking amazing

skeleton war halloween madness that extended beyond halloween where people were very adamant about skeletons and fighting a skeleton war and there was lots of talk about joining the Fight after you die and memes about skeletons just lots of skeletons

dashcon the accumulation of everything bad on this site. A convention... that was planned on tumblr for tumblr... that said they’d have famous guests like popular voice actors and actors in general and creators. Raised 17k to fund it. People paid it in their eagerness. Turns out no one remotely famous showed up, and the convention center was more like a giant empty warehouse with the most memorable thing being a small shitty ball pit. People got mad and started to realize they’d been scammed so the ppl in charge tried to offer “an extra hour in the ball pit” to appease them. Someone peed in the ball pit at one point and gave everyone else a rash. Fuckening amazing
