I forgot that the name of the video game rae gets transported into is literally Revolution even though they name drop it in the first episode. Literally just thought it was a revolutionary girl utena reference and did not consider the implications
so when all the class warfare and the (missed) allusions to the french revolution and the reveal at the end that in the game claire gets executed started coming up I was just like
#aimee watches yuri#i’m in love with the villainess#i started listening to the light novel audiobook lmao#i got invested in the story i GOTTA know what happens#and i need another season of the anime immediately

isekai protagonists these days: I was transported into this magical fantasy world, but I don’t wanna fight as a hero! That’s scary and I have no fighting ability, I’m Just Some Dude™!
isekai protagonist: I know! Instead, I will do something mundane that I enjoy and happen to be skilled at and build a living out of that! I will travel to see this new land, and make friends along the way! The world is my oyster!
me: ...
me: you realise you can do those things in real life too, bud, right? that’s just what adulthood is? is you being able to do literally whatever you want to do within the constraints of your situation, means, and skill set, if you just set your mind to it?

I tend to delete the series from my reader after I’m done with them, so this will be from memory, but here’s a few that haven’t been mentioned before:
A Wicked Tale of Cinderella’s Stepmother - an adult MC! She gets reincarnated as the stepmother and is hell-bound to do right by all three of her daughters, Cinderella included. In progress.
Queen Cecia’s Shorts, also known as Empress Cesia Wears Knickerbockers - a clothing designer gets reincarnated into a fantasy world where she has to pretend to be a man in order to work as a high-society tailor. In progress.
The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash - a very sweet series about a young girl who gets reincarnated into a world where everyone has skills, but she only has a single skill and it’s the weakest one. Very slow, very warm, though it does touch on serious subjects (abuse, slavery, human trafficking). In progress.
Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion - the most classic "reborn in a novel and I don't want to end up DEAD again" webtoon, perfectly executed and fun to read. Completed.
Savior's Book Cafe in Another World - short manga, completed, about a thirty-something woman who's picked to be a fantasy world's "savior" by the world's god. She's not given the option to refuse, but she can have requests and she has a lot of them! Mostly because she wants to live a calm, secluded life surrounded by books. Unfortunately, plot keeps happening to her all the time.
Also there's a ton of vintage portal fantasy from before the genre required those poor protagonists to die before entering their fantasy world - Inuyasha was mentioned, but Vision of Escaflowne? Magic Knight Rayearth? Twelve Kingdoms? Fushigi Yuugi? Go wild.
Isekai with male protags: "I was a loser on earth but now I'm super fucking strong and gettin mad bitches"
Isekai with female protags:
Reincarnated princess uses earth knowledge to make magitech a thing and romances sad girl
Girl romantically pursues her video game waifu
Girl is tasked to teach actual fucking gods to be more empathetic to humans
Woman reincarnated as the daughter of a magic item crafter uses earth knowledge to advance her trade
"Straight" girl is sucked into a world with zero men and lesbians everywhere and finds out she's sapphic (there's like actual plot but the gay is what matters.... to me)
A ghibli film. Need I say more
Woman reincarnated in video game as doomed villainess desperately tries to change her story
Girl reincarnated as a tiny baby spider kills monsters to level up
Like the male protag one but the lame guy's mom got isekaid with him and she's the op one.
Two normal girls fight urban legends in terrifying danger dimension
#yo Gonik you're better at this#I'm sure I missed a ton of the finished ones#oh right Raeliana!#it has an anime now I was supposed to check it out#lemme edit.#also it absolutely needs to be mentioned that 'My Next Life as a Villainess' is also known as Bakarina#because the protagonist is REALLY REALLY DUMB#it's AMAZING#the series gets worse after the first arc but I strongly recommend reading/watching the first season#if only to enjoy seeing her few brain cells literally debating in a meeting

'I'm in Love with the Villainess' Anime - Episode 1 Review
An astounding and hilarious first outing for the series with the power to revolutionize Yuri
We are finally here, the long-awaited and much anticipated first episode of Platinum Vision’s I’m in Love with the Villainess anime aired on Tokyo MX and is streaming everywhere outside of Asia with a plethora of dubbing options, including English, on day one on Crunchyroll.
The first outing covers most of the events of the light novel’s first chapter, or the first three chapters of the manga, at a rapid but steady and not overwhelming pace. At this rate, the anime should be able to cover much of the series’ first arc, or the first two out of five books, in a single cour. Perhaps a bit less, depending on which of the story’s various adventures it elects to include. This is an exciting possibility, to be sure, as the story is a character-driven, socially mindful, and expertly written and, despite its fantasy setting, an exceptionally relevant tale of romance, socio-economic inequality, and of course, queerness.
While the first arc of Villainess is a triumph, it would be a shame not to see at least some of the developments from the extra chapters that lead into the second story, like (spoilers for the end of volume 2) Rae and Claire’s wedding and their adopted twin daughters May and Aleah. If we are lucky, perhaps they will appear in the final episode or, dare to dream, a second season (end of spoilers).
Now, onto the show itself. For those who, for whatever reason, have not read Inori’s masterpiece, I’m in Love with the Villainess follows Rae Taylor. A salary worker who dies and is reincarnated as the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. However, Rae has no interest in any of the game world’s three eligible royal bachelors and has eyes only for the game villainess Claire François. Armed with exceptionally magical ability, Rae sets out determined to secure a happy ending for her beloved Claire against the coming revolution and perhaps win her heart in the process.
Now, the opening of I’m in Love with the Villainess is the series' weakest moment in all mediums, which, considering episode one’s outstanding quality, only highlights just how superb the Yuri masterpiece is as a whole. Even with its need to establish the setting, characters, and premise of the series, the premiere managed to be an excellent introduction and set the bar high with lots of laughs, entertainment, and service between our two leads.
I watched the Japanese audio, and Yu Serizawa and Karin Nanami are fantastic in these roles, with Serizawa playing up Rae’s teasing adoration and borderline masochism at full blast, and Nanami explicitly giving voice to Claire’s arrogance and frustration. She even manages to deliver a perfect Ojou-style laugh to seal the character’s elite status and lean into the show’s use of otome tropes. And having the leads sing the excellent opening and ending themes is just icing on the cake.
Speaking of tropes, while Ironi’s original work is a genre-defying masterpiece that broke the Yuri mold, it is never afraid to play with the genre’s iconography and its otome game setting. Every other scene had another allusion, including to the book’s cover. As always, I am likely overeager to see connections, however intentional they may be, but the academy’s halls harken to otome staples, the bells and strings of the first scene's soundtrack conjured blistering memories of Strawberry Panic (perhaps a sacrilegious comparison to make but I digress), and even an areal shot of the campus was another check mark on my “Scenic Yuri” theory.
Now, as mentioned, I’m in Love with the Villainess has to establish the groundwork here, and narratively, these are the weakest moments, often direct exposition, with a few exceptions like Rae’s conversation with her roommate Mash about maintaining Claire’s attention. The narration is at least accompanied by relevant and creative, if perhaps limited, animation. But to their credit, these moments are succinct, existing only as long as they have to in order to provide the necessary information and get out of the way for what matters most: the characters.
Rae and Claire are front and center from the very get-go, and there is little time wasted in showcasing Rae’s intense bottom energy or establishing Claire’s elitism and bewildered anger towards Rae’s excitement in the face of Claire’s carefully calculated cruelty. It is a montage of silly and fun competitions between the two that had me laughing and smiling all the way through, as the Yuri was present in full force, and gives glimpses at the mutual obsession the women have for each other that will soon blossom into a wonderful romance.
These early story beats have a light tone and focus on the bullying, teasing, and rivalry between Rae and Claire, a dynamic that previously and understandably made a subset of readers somewhat uncomfortable. However, assuming the anime unfolds in a similar manner to the manga and light novels, the narrative will explore meatier, heavier subject matter and a far deeper lesbian romance, all without losing its sense of fun and adventure. The next episode or two will be incredibly telling - as the source material is perhaps the most profound and forthright depictions of LGBTQ identity in Yuri, and that all starts with a pivotal conversation that, if it is included, will be coming up shortly.
Overall, I am incredibly excited for this series. The first episode is everything I had hoped for out of an adaptation of one of my favorite works of all time, save the animation, which is average at best. While there is a lot more to see, and we will have to wait to know if I’m in Love with the Villainess lives up to its incredible potential and source material, I am extremely hopeful. We have one of the funniest, most thoughtful, and queerest works of Yuri transformed into a stunning anime project unlike anything that has come before and offers the chance at not just a new Yuri “gateway” but to continue the work of its source material in revolutionizing the genre.
Ratings: Story – 8 Characters – 10 Art – 5 LGBTQ – We shall see… Sexual Content – 3 Final – 8

My Top 3 Least Favorite Female Leads
This is going to be my ranking on my Top 3 Least Favorite Female Leads.
#3. Meilin "Mei" Lee
When I watched Turning Red back in 2022 (since I was the target audience for the movie), I did not like Mei because she comes off as annoying, unrelatable, and unlikable to me. This is just my opinion on Mei.
Now, what makes her annoying? She is narcissistic, dishonest, bad-tempered, selfish, and she has no sense of self-control in her emotions. I know she is a teenage girl going through puberty, but I genuinely find her annoying.
What makes her unrelatable? Her shallow friendship with her friends and all of her friends including herself are BOY CRAZY. I know they have some good moments, but I find their friendship kind of shallow to me.
And what makes her so unlikable? She disobeys her parents, lies to her parents, sneaks out of the house, threatens Tyler twice, runs away from her family, and twerks at her mom. And what is the worst part? She completely gets away with it SCOT-FREE. At the end, She just becomes more of a narcissistic brat who never learns to grow up. I know she grew up with a strict Chinese mother, but I just can't see her as a likable character.
Again, why is she so annoying, unrelatable, and unlikable? Because she is literally the OPPOSITE version of me.
I know there are people who genuinely like Mei and relate to her, but I just couldn't because of how she acted.
The only thing I like about her is her bedroom. It has my favorite colors pink and green and its cozy.
Now onto the next one!
#2. Princess Ariana De Sacramise
I hate Princess Ariana De Sacramise so much. She's a shallow Mary Sue who collects men like their Pokemon (yes I watched BlackLightJack's two videos yesterday), treats them like animals, manipulates them, and only cares about their looks. Yes I said it, she is WAY MORE shallow than Mei and her friends! I'm not even joking right now, she is a grown woman who is more shallow than four teenage girls who like 4*Town. Like, she ONLY cares about physical attractiveness of MEN.
The creators depicted her as some "hero" you're supposed to root for, but in reality, she is a villainess.
Also, she is a MASSIVE hypocrite.
BRUH, SHE IS LITERALLY DOING THE SAME THING TO MEN AND DOESN'T SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN! I CAN'T WITH THE DOUBLE STANDARDS THAT THE CREATORS HAVE SINCE THEY'RE ALSO WOMEN AND THE ARTIST IS A PEDOPHILE!
Finally, we have the one and only least favorite female lead!
#1. Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar
I didn't loathe Charlie in the first three episodes, but after episode 4, It just made me LOATHE her so much. I couldn't stand her anymore. She is a delusional friend who doesn't care about her friends, inconsiderate to their feelings and needs, more annoying than Mei because she acts very happy ALL THE TIME on certain situations, doesn't kill Valentino to rescue Angel Dust, and acts like a SPINELESS CRYBABY AS A GROWN WOMAN! I REPEAT, SHE IS A GROWN WOMAN WHO IS A SPINELESS CRYBABY! NO GROWN ADULT SHOULD BE ACTING LIKE HER BECAUSE THAT MAKES THEM MORE IMMATURE AND SELFISH! ESPECIALLY WOMEN BECAUSE THAT JUST REINFORCES THE STEREOTYPE OF WOMEN BEING USELESS! I HATE SEEING WOMEN BEING SPINELESS CRYBABIES!
She is the absolute worst female lead in animation history! She is everything wrong about what a female lead should NOT be! A SELFISH. INCONSIDERATE. DELUSIONAL. SPINELESS. BRATTY. CRYBABY. That's why I LOATHE Charlie Morningstar!
The reason she acts like this is because she is Vivienne Medrano's horrible self insert.
How can anybody stand her bratty behavior? I cannot stand her anymore...
I LITERALLY CANNOT STAND HER ANYMORE FOR BEING SUCH A SPINELESS WOMAN SHE IS!
SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO HUMANITY! HOW CAN ANYONE STAND HER WHEN SHE IS A SPINELESS GROWN WOMAN?! NOBODY SHOULD BE LOOKING UP TO HER AS SOME ROLE MODEL, ESPECIALLY KIDS WHO ARE IN THE FANDOM WHEN THEY SHOULD NOT BE THERE!
STANS WHO BLINDLY WORSHIP HER SHOULD GROW A SPINE AND STOP BEING SELFISH INCONSIDERATE SPINELESS BRATTY CRYBABIES LIKE SHE IS!
Some people call her a Mary Sue, but for me, I call her a SPINELESS CRYBABY. I have to say all those things because I just can't stand her anymore.
EDIT 7/23/24:
I changed and expanded my reasons why I loathe Charlie Morningstar so much.
EDIT 7/24/2024:
I expanded more reasons why I loathe Charlie so much since I rushed it last night.
EDIT 7/26/2024:
I explained why I hate seeing women being spineless crybabies.
EDIT 8/06/2024:
I crossed out "narcissistic" because I was pretty harsh on Mei. She's only a teenager who still has a lot to learn after all.

*clears throat.*
(apologize in advance for any mistakes english isn't my first language)
Alright. Here we go.
Look, I haven't watched MLP in a LONGGGG time. But recently with all the stuff I missed our and since the fandom is still pretty much alive and well I decided to take peek by peek in the seasons I haven't watched.
Until I came across, these guys
And I have so much to say.
I didn't write a script for this or anything so I don't know where this rambling is going so I just ask you to bear with me for as much as you can, okay?
Look, watching the Young Six episodes I've experienced one of the things that angers me the most. SUCH. WASTED. POTENTIAL.
You're telling me we got whatever the hell is G5 when instead we could have gotten THESE GUYS???? THESE COOL, UNIQUE CHARACTERS THAT ACTUALLY HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY THAT MAKES SENSE AND HAVE SI MUCH POTENTIAL TO BE ONE OF THE SICKEST LORE ARCS IN MLP???
I homestly don't know what Hasbro WAS THINKING in giving them so little screentime. There's so much I have to say but I'll try my best to keep my thoughts organized.
First things first, we'll need to talk a little about G5 or "Make Your Mark" series or whatever. I personally enjoyed the movie, though the story didn't make much sense (we'll get to that later) the characters were pretty nice, the songs were catchy and the animation was mwah. I didn't bother to watch all of the G5 series, because- (pardon to all who enjoy it) it's so. Freaking. Boring. Like I know there's a pony girl that's supposed to be a traitor among them but then grows onto being their actual friend and there's a villainess and that whole conflict and yada yada yada. But honestly there just isn't anything I found enganging in the entire thing. I can't explain it, it just feels- off. I know I probably don't have much right to talk, cause again, only now I'm diving into the mlp again after missing out A LOT, but I just can't bring myself to like that series.
Now, the whole School Of Friendship saga in the G4 series with our beloved Young Six, I know some people had some issues with it and it didn't please everyone, and while it does have some flaws and is certainly not perfect, you can't deny there was lots of potential. (I'll try to not overuse that word I'm sorry)
I personally, really liked the concept of different creatures from different cultures coming together and forming the perfectly diverse friend group. Episodes like The Hearth's Warming Club and What Lies Beneath were particuarly really fun, it was nice to dive into their cultures and backstories while also watching the six of them be vulnerable in front of one another and grow closer. If only they had more screentime and more deep episodes like that, they could have been in the top 10 found families in cartoons.
Now, just some other reasons as to why I think they're interesting characters and should've gotten more than what was given to them.
Because
1- Their whole deal is that they're not all ponies, that they're all different species. We get to learn lots about their different cultures and customs. It would've been such a good way to teach children about acceptance and respecting differences while also being entertaining. Especially in a school enviroment.
2- We got not one, but TWO male characters in the group. It would make little boys that are interested in mlp feel more comfortable and valid for it. AND those two males also have distinct personalities and their own active roles. Gallus being sort of the leader of the group, and Sandbar being the only pony therefore the one to stand up for his friends.
3- While they're supposed to be the new represantives of the elements of harmonies, their personalities are still interesting and different from the Mane 6.
Onto that, I really like how it's implied they could be the next helders (or whatever its called) of the elements of harmony. Given their special connection to the tree, how similiar they are to the previous groups (Mane 6 and The Pillars) and how Twilight LITERALLY LIFTED THEM UP AS WELL WHILE SHE SPOKE ABOUT HOW THE ELEMENTS WILL LIVE ON, it would've been such a cool concept.
Onto that, I wanna talk a bit about each of their characters too and how I think they could've been dealt with.
Gallus is the element of magic, but unlike Twilight who's all open and confident-spoken about friendship and all, Gallus is probably the one in the group that's the most closed-off and dislikes getting all cheesy. It would've been interesting seeing his development as the helder ot the element of magic. AND ESPECIALLY since he doesn't have magic in the first place, since Twilight and Starwirl were unicorns. So maybe he could make posions? Get powers someway else? Many posibilities
Sandbar is the element of kindness, but unlike Fluttershy he's extrovert and down to making friends. His overrall personality is that he's constantly very chill-going and nothing seems to ever upset or annoy him. So it also would've been interesting to see how that pattern would break, especially because of his element.
Yona is the element of honesty. She's probably the one that has the hardest time adapting to the Equestrians among the group, and even tried to act like a pony instead of herself one episode. It would've been interesting to see how her element of honesty reflects on how she should be true to herself, especially since her Yak culture comes a lot with honor.
Ocellus is the element of genority, yet, unlike Rarity, she's a lot more like Fluttershy, being timid and insecure, while also being smart and well-read like Twilight. It would've been nice if her development with her element would be gaining confidence in herself and being generous to others that way. Especially since she has a fear of being like the old changling queen (forgot her name) so imagine if she just turned out to be the opposite of her. Instead of selfish and cruel, being generous and kind.
Smolder is the element of loyality, but also like Gallus, she's also not into getting cheesy. But what I find imteresting about her is how she tries to keep her tough, agressive persona (since thats how dragons are) yet it is revealed she's actually interested in cute, fluffy stuff like tea parties and dresses. So it would've been cool to see her growing confident in admiting her interests, therefore being more like Rainbow Dash, who's always confident on herself
And last but not least, Silverstream is the element of laughter. But what's hooking about it is the fact that Silverstream herself probably hasn't KNOWN what laughter is for a long time, having to hide under The Storm King's rule. She's very talkctive, creative and extrovert, like Pinkie Pie, but she also has her trauma that haunts and intimidates her, unlike Pinkie who usually faces her fears headfront. Another great development story.
So just hear me out, okay. I don't care if MLP is over. I don't care if there's G5.
We. Need. A. Young. Six. Spin-off. Series.
I know it sounds crazy, but I genuely think this idea could work out if it was handled well enough, and Hasbro could make some good money out of this.
Just bear with me. A spin-off series set on the timeline between season 8-9 aka, still on the School Of Friendship, focused entirely on the Young Six. We could still get the Mane 6, of course, but mostly as support characters. It doesn't have to be a particularly long series, (though maybe that could work as well IF handled with enough care) maybe just 2 seasons or so. And I'm not thinking like a slice-of-life or fun little extra kind of thing, I'm thinking of ACTUAL lore. Just more about how the tree and the elements work, and how these six students could grow into being their new helders. In each episode it becomes more and more evident to them and the Mane 6 themselves that they're going to be the next generation of the elements. So imagine once they all fully it figure out and talk about it, the Y6 suddenly feel this pressure about how they're supposed to live up to their teachers and fear that they have to be EXACTLY like them. So we see Sandbar taking extra kindness classes with Fluttershy, Yona taking extra honesty classes with Applejack and heck even Gallus is taking studies more seriously (especially since he's supposed to be the element of magic which again I find imteresting since he doesn't really have magic at least not the way Twilight and Starwirl do. ) So we could have an entire episode about the M6 getting through to them and showing they don't have to be JUST LIKE THEM nor The Pillars. They can be their own people.
Another main-plot idea would be having more villains, probably trying to test them or tear them apart (cough cough like Swift Foot from the idw comics cough cough) or maybe you could even fit someone as intense as King Sombra, or maybe even even the return of Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis in there. (I remembered her name yay)
And, of course, more onto their characters, flaws, backstories and cultures! I would love to see more about their people and customs, just as much as I would love to explore their traumas, fears, ugly sides and how they overcome it together (cough cough found family COUGH COUGH GAGS)
And another thing, I especially would've liked to explore Yona's and Sandbar's relantioship.
I MEAN LOOK AT THEM-
Don't they give massive beauty-and-the-beast vibes? I love how their colors and body types contrast with one and another, and their personalities aswell. Yona being loud, cheerful and clumsy while Sandbar is calm, thoughtful and carefree. I just love the big girl x soooorta small guy vibes and I especially loved how gentle and reassuring Sandbar was towards her in that episode. I mean, "I don't care if you're not a pony, you're the best Yona I know." SERIOUSLY? WHO WROTE THAT LINE? I'D LIKE TO GIVE THEM A HUG. And also, onto the spin-off series matter, it would also be a cool topic to explore. Imagine if some ponies/yaks are judging them for having a relantioship while being different species and they learn to ignore them and live past that??? I usually don't care much for romance, (always prefered friendship and found families) but this would've been a nice little arc and episode theme to see.
Lastly, (I'm almost done I promise) to the more technical/economical part.
Like I said in the beggining, I genuely think Hasbro could make some good money out of this. Firstly because it will be using the G4 characters and lore and not...whatever mess of a plot G5 is.
And secondly because, if they took the time to give them some cool power-up designs like they did with the Mane 6, I'M SURE the toys would sell.
I mean- JUST LOOK AT THESE COOL DESIGNS I FOUND ON THE INTERNET?? (not mine, credits to whoever made it, you ate that)
DON'T THEY LOOK LIKE A TOY SET THAT WOULD CATCH THE CHILDREN'S EYES ON THE TOY AISLE? OH YES I THINK THEY WOULD.
And if anything, they could be as bold as to make an extra Equestria Girls (well, girls and boys) series with them. I know it sounds kinda dumb, especially given the fact that I'm not sure about how that would work given that when Spike went to the "human dimension" or whatever he turned to a dog... So Smolder would also be a dog? Sandbar would be the only actual human in the group?... BUT I'm sure they could come up with some excuse to make it work. Give them some cool, colorful outfits for different events and I'm sure it would sell. And ESPECIALLY since with Gallus and Sandbar in the group, it could get the attetion of young boys aswell.
Anyways. That was it.
Uhm. Conclusion: Hasbro should hire me. I know what I'm talking about. I think. At least a bit.
And I genuely think this could work if only SOMEONE gave it the time and care.
I don't know how to end ramblings so uhmmmm thank you all for coming to my pep talk.
They deserved better.

Some Long Live Evil Appreciation
Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan has a tragically small fandom. I guess I’ll pop out from the abyss like a screaming and starving ghoul bent on taking someone down with me because I JUST FINISHED IT HALF AN HOUR AGO AND I AM DESPERATE FOR CONTENT!!!
This will be spoiler free. I just need to ramble.
Anyway, it’s about Rae who’s dying from cancer when she’s given a chance to stop her death by going into her favourite fantasy novel. The only catch is that she lands in the body of the villainess and now has to avoid that horrible ending. Oh and she has to somehow scheme her way to a magical flower that only blooms once a year and can only save her that one night.
As someone who loves villainess isekai anime, I can confidently say this feels like a love letter to it. We’ve got our girl accidentally befriending and making characters fall for her in her attempts to avoid her doom! On top of that, we have her driving the plot more and more off track as she tries to fix it! We even have antics so cartoonish that they could be cringe, but they circle back to ridiculously iconic!
It’s riddled with pop culture references that will age it but I Do not care for it is wonderfully cheesy and our protagonists definitely need a break from all the blood and gore.
I also really love the side characters. They don’t just mindlessly follow Rae, and most take a while to warm up to her actually. But the back stories and alternating POVs we get in contrast to Rae’s reader knowledge? CHEF’S KISS! PlUS THERES QUEER REP!!
And the love story? Seems like there might be a love triangle at first but it’s made very obvious very quickly that there isn’t one. That medieval alpha male mf never stood a chance!
The love interest is unhinged in the best way possible. In the doesn’t save the world, but would burn it to save you kind of way! In a kill every last one of them kind of way that reminds me of my one and only Dimitri from Fire Emblem. Seriously, if you’re like me and seeing him feral post time skip unlocked something in you, this book has the dude for you!
Anyway, I gotta say that I really relate to Rae. I haven’t experienced illness like her.”, but when I suddenly became disabled as a teenager, I felt similarly angry when people asked me to show some grace and understanding to those who treated me like a charity case or something to be discarded when it became too hard for them to watch. When she talked about trying to hold back emotion to keep from pushing more people away, I was silent taking it in. Rae’s fury at being called a bitch for her anger healed a part of me. And her using that to fuel herself? I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW CATHARTIC IT WAS ENOUGH!
If any of this caught your interest, you should go read it. I NEED PEOPLE TO SHARe THIS OBSESSION With!!!
I’m off to brainstorm fanfic while I wait for the second book.

Why Doll perfectly exemplifies all of the strengths and flaws of Murder Drones as a series.
From the amount of posts present on my blog about the specific individual, it is rather obvious to assume that Doll Yurikova (I'm still convinced the fandom made up this surname) is my favourite character from Murder Drones and you wouldn't be wrong.
She just simply tickles my needy scratch for weird, cool complex villainess characters.
However, eventually I also realised that she more than any other character embodies everything that makes murder drones a great show and everything that detracts the show from being genuinely amazing.
Let's start off with the good, anything I say applies to the both of them:
Doll/Murder drones are generally cool, unconventionally attractive, have great potential (this point will be elaborated upon) and are very complex in both the themes that they bring to the table and the philosophical standpoints discussed.
Coolness factor is mostly subjective, but I am sure any Murder drones fan will tell you that the sci-fi/horror/mystery/romance/comedy show about sentient cannibalistic robots who fight against eldritch atrocities with Portal 2-esque music is an absolute blast conceptually and visually. In the same way the russian robo vampire who was previously a cheerleader before deciding to commit cannibalism to avenge her dead parents has swarms of fans simping for her.
Unconventionally attractive is determined by unconventional people, said people also have rewatched the show seventeen different times.
Now, regarding the great potential, although I've also elaborated the previous points, this is one that will carry over when discussing the negatives of both the character and the show, but as for positive, you can just feel that Murder Drones is so much different from anything else you have ever watched, it truly gives me haunted Ghibli vibes in the way the story plays out. It could really be amazing. As for Doll, every time I watch her in the show up to her death I just get really sad thinking about what could have been if she had a redemption arc or just a better life in general.
Murder drones has abuse as his main theme and how it circulates into destructive chains and Doll is definitely one of the more interesting examples of said theme, being part of the abused and mauled drone designation that became an abuser herself. I say one of the more interesting examples because her story is fleshed out better than someone else's, say Tessa or Alice.
And now for the negatives, we need to bring out the big elephant in the room:
The show is only 8 episodes long and they are writing the season one finale in the same way you would write a series finale since making Murder drones costs Glitch a crap ton of money when they could just lower the animation quality and allow the story more time to breathe (mind you this is also Liam Vickers fault). I just hate the 8 episodes 20 minute long formula, it has, in my opinion, destroyed modern show telling and I honestly can't bear it any longer.
Besides that, 8 episodes of 20 minutes means that Doll's arc has to be paced quickly in order to get all the other characters (particularly the main ones) and elements to shine and that unfortunately leads to the fact that both Doll and Murder drones lack the one thing that separates Doll from being a human being and Murder Drones from being an amazing show, and that thing is (drum rolls) the tissue.
To explain, they have the (exo)skeleton, the organs, the mandibles and all the things that would make a piece of fiction feel truly human, but without the connective tissue, the skin, they both end up just short of those standards and as a result I can't confidently say that they are truly evocative individuals. Tissue of course is a metaphor for quote on quote "filler" in regards to the show and "villain at rest" moments in regards to Doll and her arc. And let's talk about the ending of said arc because of its possibility of paralleling the conclusion of the show;
You can say a lot of things about Doll's death but one thing that's impossible to deny is the impact of her death in your mind, everything about its execution is just so brutal that it leaves you a lasting feeling in your body; in a similar manner, the show could end with an absolute gut punch that remains impressed in your mind for months to come.

My fav yuri couples / ships <3
(In no particular order)
No one asked for it but I'm bored and wanna do it, you guys can give me ideas for lists to talk about like that in the future too.
Gonna make more parts too <3
Rae and Claire (I'm in Love with the Villainess) (Canon)
My thoughts: Okay so I absolutely adore everything about this series like manga and anime and light novels are all so good <3 It even defeated my ultimate yuri series which is Bloom Into You and that's something. So of course Rae and Claire with their amazing and such an interesting relationship had to make a list here. I don't know why but something about them just fills me with warmth. The way Claire goes from absolutely not being able to stand Rae to falling in love completely is just so 🤌 Dare I say my fav yuri relationship 💖
Sorawo and Toriko (Urasekai Picnic) (Canon)
My thoughts: With my last posts no one should be surprised at the next pair because COME ON GUYS, they're the lesbians we need but never deserved fr... I love everything about them, girlfriends who are accomplices and explore a world with monsters and other fucked up shit while being absolutely gay and protective of each other. I adore them <3
Yuu and Touko (Bloom Into You) (Canon)
My thoughts: My first ever fav yuri (Can't believe Rae and Claire beat them though-) for a reason. Everything about this was perfect for me, characters, plot and just the writing in general. Yuu and Touko's relationship with each other kept me entertained for the whole anime and then manga. I don't know what to say except that I love them <3
Adachi and Shimamura (Adachi to Shimamura) (Canon)
My thoughts: THEM. I just think they're so cute and that's all. And I know a lot of people are gonna come and say "Omg Vex Shimamura doesn't care about Adachi like that, she's such an annoying person-" Shut up because I do not tolerate Shimamura slander on this blog. Girl went through a lot but she cares about and loves Adachi. "The end of her life was the end of mine" bitch stop I'm sobbing, if that ain't love then I don't know what is.
Mitsuki and Aya (The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All) (Canon)
My thoughts: Obviously I HAD TO add my green lesbians here. Mitsuki and Aya are the syrup to my pancakes and I'm so serious. Don't you guys just love it when two girls bond over shared interests and fall in love? Yeah me too 🙂↕ If you need some serotonin then just read it, trust me guys.
Himari and Yori (Whisper Me a Love Song) (Canon)
My thoughts: Himari and Yori are so 💖 I've been reading this manga since it first came out in 2019 and my feelings towards them never change. In every chapter they're just so cute and their relationship is just adorable and I just love them <3
Aki and Shiho (Whisper Me a Love Song) (Canon)
My thoughts: Since we're on topic of Whisper Me a Love Song, since the first time we got introduced to their relation I WAS HOOKED. Everything about them was just so interesting and their storyline only highlighted their love later on. Plus I think both Shiho and Aki deserve to be happy after everything so I'm happy they're girlfriends.
Kumiko x Reina (Hibike! Euphonium) (Not Canon)
My thoughts: It physically hurt me to put not canon there because why? 😔 Honestly when I first started watching this show I thought they're so into each other until my brother spoiled me that they're indeed NOT into each other like that. Still in my heart they're girlfriends no matter what. No one will ever tell me there was absolutely nothing between them. I'm obsessed with them.
Chika x You (Love Live Sunshine) (Not Canon)
My thoughts: All of you Love Live stans may criticize me for talking about them first since "There's so much more better Love Live ships-" No. Nuh uh. Chika and You are my absolute fav ship in all of Love Live for some reason that I can't explain. They're just so cute and I may be a sucker for childhood friends trope in anime 🫠 The whole jealousy moment in the anime was feeding me too much and now it's showing fruits of it (Me being absolutely OBSESSED)
Ayumu x Yuu (Love Live Nijigasaki) (Not Canon)
My thoughts: Since we're on the topic of the childhood friends trope, obviously Ayumu and Yuu couldn't be missing from any part of this list. They're just so good together that it's shocking. Ayumu going yandere whenever a girl is close to Yuu and Yuu being absolute women charmer being surrounded by girls in the club is giving me life. They're just absolute adorable together and with them I'm absolutely sure they ended up together somewhere in the future.

Confession: When I first saw you mention "I'm in Love with the Villainess" I had no intention to watch it because I confused it with a similar premise I had read a few months earlier and been meh about (isekai butler loves the villainess he serves), so I was confused when I saw the other anon mention that it was a girl's love series.
Long story short: I watched the anime in one sitting and am now waiting for all the volumes of manga currently released to be delivered. It is a great series and I need more of it.
i haven't gotten around to reading the manga/light novel (does anyone know which came first?) just yet, but it's such a good show fr fr T-T i feel like you never really hear characters say the word 'lesbian' in anime, even if there are girls kissing on the reg, so it was very refreshing to have multiple characters who both are and call themselves queer. ray and claire's arc is just,,, scrumptious as well. a protag who's convinced herself that she can love endlessly with no expectation of reciprocation + a love interest who legitimately believes she's made herself impossible to love is just,,,, what a fucking show. delicious delicious show if nothing else watch a compilation of the mc's english voice actor doing the goddamn most.
#i just really love the characters okay#it was a really good call to make ray very intensely in love with claire#but also just. kind of a bad person? if that makes sense?#not necessarily evil just very willing to pull out the old gaslight gatekeep girlboss mentality if it means getting the job done#her little schemes just make her so fun#and claire being someone who is both easily flustered and has a complex about specifically receiving love#alas#i am in love with them i fear#personal#casuallywatchingfromtheshadows

bruh i wish there was GL that was on the same level of fever dream as animes like sasaki to miyano or given .. maybe the good GLs just aren’t popular but i’m seriously upset that i cant find any good ones </3
the ones i find are usually bland— (and sometimes borderline problematic 😭???)— and they just don’t have the same kind of dumb humour or tense scenes you can find in straight romance animes. honestly a lot just feel like excuses to sexualise wlw couples…
a few decent ones ive seen are im in love with a villainess, bloom into you, and kase-san and morning glories, but they were all just kind of boring to me and just didn’t hit the same. like i need an anime that’s set out exactly just like some generic romance like horimiya or something.. but make the love interest a woman!
i live for lgbt+ rep in anime as a pansexual girl myself. as much as i like a lot of popular romance animes with straight couples, ones with queer couples feel more special to me. i also quite like a lot of BL animes, but it’s only really because of the queer rep and it just makes me wish i had a girlfriend as i’m watching it LMAO.
i swear ive searched the heavens and earths for GL animes that are at least over a 7/10, but i’ve fallen short.. </3
#please someone help me#like i swear BL animes cook so hard. yuri on ice? Hamefura BluRay S1 Vol 1 SS
I will translate the extra novels featured in the extra booklets given with the anime Blu-rays.
This story is in the booklet of Hamefura S1 Vol 1 and it is about Mary.
Series: My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Title / Character: Mary Source: Anime BluRay S1 Vol 1 Synopsis: Mary is working hard on her schemes to break off Katarina and Geordo's engagement. Translation: maboroshi-no
Translation below ⮟
Mary
Mary: …and it seems like there will be some official matters to attend to as well. Considering these, I am terribly unsuitable for such an important position as prince's consort.
When I, Mary Hunt, stated this with a troubled face, Lady Katarina also lowered her eyebrows in worry.
Katarina: If even you think this, Mary, then it will be even more impossible for me.
Despite making a satisfied smile inside after hearing these words, I still displayed a troubled face and said,
Mary: In that case, let's both break off our engagements and run to some faraway land!
When I took Lady Katarina's hand and said this,
Katarina: Thank you, you really are kind, Mary.
Lady Katarina said this with a happy smile.
While saying "Not at all" and shaking my head, I struck a victory pose in my heart.
Like this, my plan that consisted in planting in Lady Katarina's mind the idea, "Being a prince's consort is hard, I don't want to become one" has been going very well so far.
Since her brother, Lord Keith, and her mother, Lady Millidiana, had also taken an opposing stance to Lady Katarina becoming a prince's consort, at this rate, if things went well, I might be able to break off the engagement between that abominable Geordo Stuart and Lady Katarina.
Still, the enemy was strong, so negligence was taboo.
We would enroll in the Academy of Magic soon and I had no doubt he was planning on marrying her as soon as we graduated. I needed to do something before it happened! I talked even more about the difficulties of a prince's consort to Lady Katarina.
Katarina: Well~ The more I listen to you, the more it feels like being a prince's consort would be impossible for me. I wonder when Prince Geordo will break off the engagement.
Lady Katarina had said this after hearing my considerable overstatements of the difficulties of a prince's consort. She believed that Prince Geordo would break off their engagement.
When I inquired as to why, she was brimming with confidence as she replied, "Prince Geordo only considers me a breakwater that keeps women away, so once he meets someone he truly loves, he will break off the engagement right away!"
When I heard this, I could somehow maintain a normal face thanks to the facial muscles I had trained as a lady, but inside, my mouth was agape. Then this retort struck inside me: "No, this will never happen!" Prince Geordo was so hopelessly in love with her that he desired to monopolize her anyhow, it was just unthinkable that he would break off the engagement himself. But Lady Katarina didn't realize it at all.
Despite all the affection he had shown her, she firmly believed she was "just a breakwater keeping women away" and kept talking about absurdities like "Prince Geordo will have a woman he loves soon".
"No, Prince Geordo already has a woman he loves. This is you, Lady Katarina". Despite thinking this inside, I didn't tell Lady Katarina and just watched her.
Because having her not realize his feelings would probably make the breaking off of their engagement easier.
Mary: Let's break off your engagement to Prince Geordo and, if possible, run away to a faraway land.
They were the words that I have been telling Lady Katarina lately.
Lady Katarina seemed to think it was just a joke, but to me, it was very serious.
Prince Geordo might look like that, but he was a lump of monopolizing desire. If he were to marry Lady Katarina, he would likely monopolize her without any intention to let her go. If it came to this, I would mostly be unable to see Lady Katarina. I refused it.
Lady Katarina, whom I had met seven years ago when I was eight, who had changed my cowardly and unconfident self, was to me, Mary Hunt, a very special and important person. Moving forward, I had no desire to be separated from her.
And to that end, I needed her engagement with Prince Geordo to be broken. This was why I had fervently talked to her every day about how difficult it was to be a prince's consort.
Mary: I will take my leave for today. I'll come again.
When I said goodbye like this, Lady Katarina too,
Katarina: Yes, come again, okay?
She replied this with a smile.
I waved my hand to her, got into the Hunt family's carriage, and set out on my way back home.
Today, the nuisances… or should I say the princes couldn't come to the Claes' house because of some business, so I could talk extensively with Lady Katarina. It was such a great day.
Next spring, we would enroll in the Academy of Magic and things would become troublesome in many ways. Until then, I wanted to enjoy such comfortable times a little more.
Then, it would be two years until graduation. During this time, would I be able to break off Lady Katarina and Prince Geordo's engagement? And if I couldn't, would I find a way to somehow prevent him from marrying her immediately? I guess I still needed to investigate a lot of things. And I also needed to use Prince Alan to confirm Prince's Geordo movements. Knowing the enemy's moves was important.
Aaah, but I needed to be careful so Prince Alan wouldn't realize that he loved Lady Katarina. Getting any more rivals would be troublesome.
Oh, that's right! It would probably be a good idea to decide on several candidates for our escape destination after the breaking off of the engagement. Prince Geordo was just so tenacious after all, so once the engagement was broken, he would probably not give up on Lady Katarina so easily. We needed to run to somewhere far away.
Where would be good? If possible, a quiet place where it would be easy to live would be nice. The Kingdom of Sorcier was a good place and I didn't want to leave it, but as long as we remained in the kingdom, his princely power would be strong. Maybe we should go to a foreign country instead? How about the neighboring country Sharma? We had friendly relations with this country and it was safe, and while the food was considerably different from here, I had heard it was delicious.
Lady Katarina was very fond of eating, so pushing this place to her sounded great.
Alright, I would select several candidates in the same manner and next time, I would have Lady Katarina look at them.
If I appealed to her with various good aspects, especially their food, Lady Katarina might get excited about them.
But if we were to move to a neighboring country, we would need as much funds as possible. As a lady of good taste, I spent my money moderately, so I did have a decent amount of savings, but once there, there was no guarantee I would find a job immediately, so I needed to save more.
Thinking about this, I had a lot to do. But this was so I could live together with Lady Katarina!
Like this, while I was working out various plans, the carriage had arrived at the Hunt's house.
When I got out of the carriage, my half-sisters were just gathered at the entrance.
My half-sisters seemed to have just returned from the place they had been to as well.
My half-sisters frowned upon seeing me but they didn't particularly say anything, so I just returned to my room.
These last few years, my half-sisters hadn't said anything unpleasant to me or been nasty to me.
I had become so much better than them and people now remembered me better, but more than anything, their unpleasantness and nastiness now didn't affect me in the slightest, so they probably didn't find it worth doing anymore.
Since the day I met Lady Katarina and received those wonderful words from her, since the moment I decided to raise my downcasted face and look forward, I had changed.
The cowardly and crybaby Mary Hunt was no more.
I was now the special and wonderful Mary.
Now, let's immediately write out the plan I thought of earlier.
I needed to investigate the specific regions we could escape to.
I gallantly returned to my room.

Ana, what would you say your top 5 anime are?
The only secure place shall we say is #1 but the rest really are not set in any particular order. Regardless, I've already answered this question a while ago but my opinions changed a little bit and these ones are definitely my favorite of all time.
#1 Bungo Stray Dogs.
My all time favorite anime is this one - Bungo Stray Dogs. It really hits hard for me because it just sucked me in immediately upon first watching it. I also really enjoy reading so being introduced to Japanese literature was just such a lovely bonus to me, so much so that I actually own two books which were written by Osamu Dazai.
If you've been following me for a while, this anime needs no introduction and you probably already knew that it's my favorite.
#2 Moriarty the Patriot.
Such an underrated gem...
Moriarty the Patriot tells the story of a math professor, William James Moriarty and how he wreaks havoc amongst the upper crust of British society as the secret Lord of Crime. He's a very morally ambiguous character who yes, does want to ultimately do good but his methods can be considered very extreme at times.
The anime is set in 19th century London and just the overall vibe of the show is immaculate. Every episode starts by setting the atmosphere which really gets you going, wondering how William and his associates will handle the chaos. His natural foil is the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and watching the two interact is a blast.
If you're in for anime which is packed with mystery, crime and some cool 19th century vibes, this one is incredible.
#3 Code Geass.
This is also another really popular anime that I don't think needs much of an introduction.
I've rewatched this show I think close to 10 times and never ONCE did I get bored. Keep in mind, I do NOT like mecha anime and this is one of two I've seen in my lifetime, the other being Aldonoah Zero.
Even so, despite my bias, it's still one of my favorites.
Literally everything is perfect about it and Lelouch is just... I'm speechless. He has my heart, I love that man.
All hail Lelouch!
#4 Re:Zero.
This is another one that had me on the hook since episode one.
I've always liked isekai anime but this one is just built fucking different. The author of this series really knows his craft both inside and out and I don't see enough praise for his world building.
Re Zero tells the story of a loser 17 year old otaku, Subaru Natsuki and how he got isekaid to another world. Since he's a dumbass, he thinks that he can have any ability he wants and that things will instantly go his way but Subaru is in for quite the rude awakening once he realizes just how horrible his situation is.
At the time of writing this, season 3 literally just came out and I am eagerly waiting for each new episode to drop.
#5 Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Horror packaged in frills and ribbons is my whole aesthetic and this show feeds right into that.
It really does look like a simple little magical girl show upon first glance but by now, it has received the almost legendary status that it has for a damn good reason. The story manages to make the usually cheerful archetype of the magical girl into something much more sinister and tragic, exploring some interesting themes along the way.
Feel free to comment or share your thoughts on my fav list. Some honorable mentions would be Naruto, My Next Life as a Villainess, The Case Study of Vanitas and definitely some more shows which I can't recall at the moment.
