#I need a mini Claudie

using the tiermakers made by @americangirlstar and coming up with some interesting metrics for how the girls' collections are distributed. Samantha has the biggest one, despite currently being cubed (T_T), with Molly as a close second, partially due to all the reprints and re-releases she's had. Poor Claudie has the smallest collection by far.
even MORE info/observations under the cut:
i accidentally put caroline's cow under outfits instead of accessories, o o p s
Rebecca's last category is supposed to say "Somehow both clothes and furniture/accessories" - Rebecca's Costume Chest and Rebecca's School Play Set were both available at one point or another with the furniture/accessories as separate components and at a different point bundled together like in the pictures, and her Seashore Set always came with the chair.
NOT adjusted for reprints, re-releases, revamps that change the accessories (i.e. Addy's Kite-Flying Outfit/Flower-Picking Outfit aka Dress and Bouquet/Blue Dress, which are all the same dress but with different accessories) or adjustments under the same name (i.e. the four variations of Molly's dog Bennett)
best friends and their collections are grouped with the main historicals
some of these were kind of hard to determine what was "furniture" vs "accessories", so my general rule of thumb was:
Dolls: if what you purchased would include the doll itself, as well as mini dolls
Outfits: clothes for the doll - had to be composed of at least either a full body outfit OR shirt/pants - shoes/socks/hats/ribbons/etc that came with them are included
Accessories: shoes/socks/hats/ribbons/etc that needed to be purchased SEPARATELY from the doll or an outfit (i.e. Samantha's Elegant Hat and Muff was sold separately from her Plaid Cape and Gaiters despite always being pictured together) OR small handheld items, such as dolls for the dolls and other toys OR pets, as they're clearly meant to compliment the collection.
Furniture: obviously things like tables and chairs, but also big items like trunks or playsets, and small items, like table settings. basically if it could qualify as a household furnishing, it would go here.
Girls + Misc: Clothes or other accessories, life-sized edition.
Books + Misc: books, puzzles, games, you name it, as long as it's printed and for humans to use
??????: stuff that didn't fit anywhere OR i couldn't tell what it was
I couldn't decide where some items belonged - the horses are big and expensive enough that they should qualify as furniture, but theyre yknow. animals. which were all going in accessories otherwise, since they're clearly part of a collection complementing the doll and not just a standalone item.
The funniest case of this is probably Felicty's sister Polly, who could reasonably be categorized as either of those (comes with cradle, which is household furnishings; is clearly meant to compliment Felicity's collection, like the pets) OR a doll (cause she. is one.)

Letās hear it for the moms of āMiraculous Ladybugā! (cheers and applause). We have Marlena CĆ©saire, the head chef of the restaurant in Le Grand Paris with four amazing daughters (āRogercopā), Claudie KantĆ©, conductor of the high tech state of the art submarine traveling Startrain and now astronaut (āStartrainā), Tomoe Tsurgi, a no-nonsense and regal like fencer who doesnāt let her disability get in the way of anything (āIkari Gozenā), Nadia Chamack, news anchorperson and talk show host (āPrime Queenā), Anarka Couffaine, a modern day pirate lady who takes charge like the captain she is (āCaptain Hardrockā), Gina Dupain, badass globetrotting biker babe (āBefanaā), Emilie Agreste, the āloving and caringā matriarch of the Agrestes and (Iām adding these ladies cuz Iām sure they have fans) thereās also Amelie Graham de Vanily, who may have questionable morals, but is still sweet and appreciative to her son (āFelixā) and finally, Audrey Bourgeois, whoās trying to learn to be a better mom and with style! (āQueens Battle Part 2:Queen Waspā). Theyāre all so amazing! Letās see how the miraculous mother herself is doing:
*Qilin-What do know about Sabine? Well, sheās kind and helpful, she runs the bakery with her husband and seems to know kung fu too! (āTroublemakerā). Hereās another thing she does! Every morning, she wakes up, does a little feng shui, some qigong and prepares for whatever disaster Marinette might fall into (the last one obviously grew with time and became routine). Yup! Sheās well organized and graceful very polar opposite to her forgetful and klutzy daughter, but hey, Marinettes the guardian now and lifeās tougher on her than it was before.
To show her gratitude for all sheās done, Marinette takes her mother to lunch for a Mothers Day outing and during a bus ride, we see that Sabine as well has a certain āvisionā when it comes to solving problems and that she too doesnāt stand idly by letting injustice happen. Like mother, like daughter. Marinette realizes she forgot a gift for Mothers Day, so she lies saying she needs money to buy a magazine for a presentation sheās working on, Sabine gives her her purse and she gets off the bus to buy some flowers (cheaply, with her own mothers moneyš) and misses the bus when it leaves without her. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp!
As Sabine gets off the bus, sheās stopped by a (strongly implied to be) racist ticket inspector who rudely confronts her about not having a bus ticket or any identification cuz Marinette took her purse with all of that inside and takes her to Lt.Roger. Although, Sabine tries to reason both ways with Roger by reminding him that sheās an honorable woman and to just wait for Marinette with her purse as evidence that she in fact did have a bus ticket, heās too by-the-book to listen and the a**hole ticket inspector guy manipulates him to just arrest her when she starts resisting authority and he does so by handcuffing her. Sabine gets upset and is akumatized as Qilin, a Chinese mythological dragon lady with telekinesis and air powers. All while still handcuffed! I was wondering what being a dragon had to do with the injustice that was going on with Sabine and it turns out that one of the things it represents is āprotectionā like how Qilin was trying to protect herself from all the police, S.W.A.T. team and military that were coming at her using her wind powers like how theyāre said to sound like. Interesting, it doesnāt have much of the feel of trying to stand for justice as Sabine was trying to do, I was hoping for a fully akumatized Verity Queen (āLadybugā), but I guess since the idea behind the hostility of the situation was all implied to be about racism, so I guess it works that sheās akumatized as something representing it. Oh well, ĀÆ\_()_/ĀÆ.
Bomb #20, we get to know a little bit more about Sabine Cheng! From the Shanghai special, we got a mini backstory on Sabine and how she has a sister, a pet parrot (that Chef Cheng keeps with him), immigrated to Paris and had to change her name (Xia Bing) and now, we see she does other things aside from running the bakery, she also teaches a community Chinese art class! (where a certain lying little fox is one of the students). Nice to see how weāre expanding on the characters for the show and Iād like to see more. Especially the parents of Marinettes classmates of those that we still have yet to see. The big issue with this ep. was the whole racism that was the ticket inspector guy. Fans didnāt like that this didnāt directly voice the topic at hand and just used a visual for it cuz I believe this was because itās a childrenās programming show where itād be too controversial for this to be addressed, but given what we already saw in the show, such as abusive parenting, depression and the āNo means Noā stunt we saw (āFelixā), why shouldnāt we just lampshade whatās going on already!? The kids who were watching this since the beginning would obviously be getting older to notice these kinds of things in the world and even the tweens will mature to wake up to this kind of āafter school specialā type of episode thatās goinā on in the real world! Also, the way the a**hole ticket inspector guy and Roger handling the situation was done terribly too. The ticket guy was way too eager to have Sabine arrested showing what a sadist he is and abusing his authority by falsely making her look bad in front Roger and didnāt even apologize after everything was cleared up! With Roger, weāve seen him do a lot of screw ups on the force, but this takes the cake! He believed a racist prick over a decent woman and was trying to make himself look like heās in charge which just made things worse! Even not listening to Ladybug when even she tried to reason him and had no choice, but for her to use force on him to save the day. Not to mention nobody on the bus even vouched for Sabine when she was being arrested like the bus driver who happily ate her snacks she gave him and was a witness to her and Marinette getting on the bus with tickets and seeing Marinette get off or the handicapped guy she rightfully gave his spot to when an a**hole was in his zone and wouldnāt move! WTF!? The only good thing to come out of this ep was Sabine breaking free from her akumatization, like Alya and Nino did, cuz sheās a hard believer in justice when Ladybug promised to free her from the handcuffs sheās been begging to get off this whole time in exchange for stopping all this villainy and she agreed and thus didnāt need to stay akumatized. Goes to show Shadow Moth isnāt as strong as he thought he was and why weāll be seeing a new butterfly holder in the future.

alright, so. american girl order.... ohoho. i ordered the silly hannukah sweater because i love it So much and iād cry if it went away forever and i missed it haha. i also picked up the witch costume for the same reason, and... š„ corrine! so i can reqig her and make her my mini me haha. her outfit is.... okay. i donāt love how thin the sweater dress is, but thatās okay. i wonder if her meet outfit would be good to sell on ebay or something? i have no problems keeping it, but i probably wouldnāt use it, and iād rather someone who loves it, have it. than it take up space in my crowded storage lol. but i love her face!!! it looks So similar to mine, i might cry when she gets here haha. her eyebrows match mine exactly, iāve never seen that before and i got really excited. i think iāll keep her wig on until i get the right one (havenāt ordered it yet) just to chill with her.... and my ends are dyed right now, lol. itās green, not teal, but i was torn between them and desperately wanted to dye my hair with koolaid as a teen (remember when that was huge?)
iāve been wanting to sew and knit for AG dolls, but i only have lindsey right now and i am just... in love with her outfit. itās so cute. i would have loved getting her when she first came out. so i havenāt changed it yet, haha. i still need to see how much i can restore her wig, take some micromesh to her face shines, and tighten her limbs, but i donāt have any tools i need for anything. oopsies.Ā
i have a whole list of AG stuff i want to get from the store! iāve never been in person, and itāll probably be a few years until iām able to go, so online ordering for me right now. i canāt wait to get claudie and sew period fashions for her, like that tea/play dress i reblogged a while ago (still so captivated by that! i hope to make something even half as cute!)
i canāt wait to make doll clothes aha, itās my favorite thing to do. i also really want to sew the pomegranate outfit from the rosh hashanah ideas zoominag made about a month ago now. thereās a huge joann fabrics maybe 30 minutes from me and they had a large selection of fun prints, including fruits! iām hopeful to find a cute pomegranate print the next time i go. i also have a skein of ravelry red sock yarn from malabrigo that i might try and make a cardigan with, but weāll see when it comes in.Ā
iāll probably make another post about it, but iām stuck on a name for my mini me (not keeping corrine). i would give her my name, but mine is.... incredibly recognizable. i donāt feel comfortable putting it on tumblr or reddit, lol. something to research, i guess!
#my posts#didn't tag zoomy in this post but i will when/if i get around to the full outfit! the holiday collections are SO inspiring to me#i cannot WAIT to search for fabrics and patterns aha#i was an interfaith kid and our religious stuff was more food based lmao#we never dressed up or went to synagogue (or church for that matter) so i'm excited to give that experience to mini me...#my inner child is real and AG is Soothing me#i don't mind having others know my different accounts but tying it to my real life legal name is different yknow?

I overall like the redesign! I like the move to make each doll in the line more distinct from each other.
I also think the increased colorful hair options make a lot of sense - I know thereās a lot of adult collectors who donāt like the colorful hair dolls, but I think theyāre cute, and kids (the actual target audience) ADORE them. it makes a lot of sense to center that aspect a bit more. (Though Iām very glad thereās a mix of colorful and natural hair colors)
I donāt hate the lashes, but theyāre not my favorite in execution. I think the lashes look wonderful on all the WBU dolls, and I donāt know whatās changed where it seems hit or miss how they look on other dolls. Has the lash design changed since WBU??? I would also have personally loved to see some variation in terms of lashes - it seems like since the dolls are so distinct from one another, having only some dolls with lashes would have added to that. However, I would bet that AG did think of that, and probably did focus testing and found that their target audience (which are, again, kiddos) prefer the dolls with lashes ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
I love the idea of multiple meet outfits, I think itās super fun, even if I personally dislike some of them. I also LOVE that the dolls come with a cute activity book.
My first actual gripe with the redesign is the overabundance of light eyes. Brown eyes are beautiful, and most kids have em!
Additionally, as many of the dolls have moved away from the more down to earth ālookalikeā style dolls and now come across as more like cool characters with the funky hair (and even the light eyes, though Iāve expressed my displeasure with that), Iām not sure the branding of ātruly meā really fits super well anymore. Iām honestly really surprised they didnāt rename the line with the redesign, but I think it would still make sense to do so. Moving instead back towards something like āgirl of todayā (though thereās boys now so they might need something different) would make a lot more sense for this new line. I expect most kids wonāt be picking out a mini-me from this lineup when they have all the super cool hair options (when I was a kid, the only jly I got looked nothing like me - I just thought she was pretty! So I certainly get it). I saw a post by @lesbiansamanthaparkington about this part of it earlier which clued me into this issue with the line.
Finally, my biggest issue with the line has nothing to do with the actual dolls, but with the timing. I think itās totally unacceptable that AG released the redesign right after Claudie, totally overshadowing her. I mean, she didnāt even get the cover of the magazine for goodness sakes! It feels like they didnāt promote her on purpose, which I hate. Iāll bet the profit margins on the TM line is higher but like. Thatās a dumb excuse. It leaves a really sour taste in my mouth for the whole redesign as a result, which totally killed the joy for me of seeing all the new dolls :/
What are peopleās thoughts on the new Truly Me dolls and redesign? Genuinely curious! I reallllly love a lot of the new dolls I think some of them are beautiful and I love that many of the new face molds were included, but some of them are a big miss for me and one of the outfits is sooooooooooo hideous. I do really like most of the outfits though and I think itās fun that thereās multiple outfits.

Methods sexy mini dress to dress just like a French girl this wintertime
As a delivered and carefully bred Parisienne, We've always been hit by the way Uk women therefore passionately stick to dress requirements. How drink dresses are for drinks, tracksuits are for exercising and nightdresses are just for sleeping. France women are precisely the opposing. Evening dresses make great beachwear, sensible pyjamas are better put on as a tux and workout is a mere reason to show out of your latest Isabel marant sneakers trainers. Neglecting to agree to a homogeneous is seen as refined, daily level of resistance: trends are just there to become reshuffled and reappropriated.
Simply look at Caroline de sexy mini dress Maigret, Lou Doillon or Charlotte now Gainsbourg: all of them master the ability of effortless combine. As for the wintertime season, it could a no brainer for all of us: in a nation that beliefs intellectual style over sexiness (and exactly where, let's encounter it, macho culture causes it to be impossible to demonstrate cleavage at the street), we all tend to end up being rather protected up all year long. Christmas trendy is merely a continuation of the usual design, give or take a shawl or two. And the great news is, anyone can get it done, even in the event that they've by no means set feet on Gallic turf. This is how.
Going skiingWe hate the thought of wearing a part of clothing mainly because it's useful, which makes wintertime dressing challenging. We hate skiwear, however we love to skiing! The aim is certainly to make no matter what you put upon look like a stylistic choice let me give you. I remember visiting the north pole within a Claudie Pierlot bomber Beam, jacket and a complementing beanie hat-Bans. I think my Inuit instruction is still having a laugh at myself. On the inclines, you can quietly accessorise: state, a Jessica Marot beanie hat, using its trademark material plate that bears a literary juga. This way, you are able to tell the entire resort that although you are able to barely stand on two skis, your understanding of existentialism is flawless.
For aprĆØs-ski, never end up being caught deceased wearing a fleece jacket. Instead, go for baggy 501 jeans below which you can privately wear dense tights. Set those with an oversized sheepskin jacket and a customized scarf simply by fantastic indie label Cardiovascular Heart Center. And conceptual sunglasses. Also, tanning is definitely tacky; prevent it at any cost. Your skin will be glad in a 10 years.
New Year's EveIt's OKAY to have a great time, just as long as it shouldn't show an excessive amount of. Partying, like party clothing, is extremely modest. We want to signify "fun" by selecting a single, decadent element. For instance , this could be you a chance to pull out individuals lamƩ apple green Pierre Hardy pumps you bought upon sale and haven't handled since. Naturally , if you do therefore , never set them with a dress: as well obvious, muy bien sƻr. Rather, try slim, high-waisted dark jeans, a slouchy blazer and a hint of cleavage. You are able to throw in a hint of luxury, as well. I personally like my baseball glove clutch simply by Perrin Paris, france for its minor S& Meters connotation (also, it is wide enough to keep a pair of ballet flats pertaining to when I await a taxi cab for one hour in the freezing cold).
Going to operate the snowWhen it comes to snow, long sleeve midi dress Paris is much like London; snow instantaneously becomes black blend. This is where the similarities end, though, since over right here, French ladies forget completely about pumps and choose solid man classics -- I specifically like these cooperation brogues through the Broken Provide and Adieu because distinctive rubber bottoms that prevent you from breaking your neck when you rundown metro stairways. You can enable yourself to put on trainers occasionally, but only when they are impeccably white (for which I suggest Crepe protector).
No matter how cool it is, by no means touch a Michelin Man-style puffer coat. Here is what I actually do instead: We wear a complete, mid-season clothing, say a shirt, a jumper and a jeans jacket. We top everything with a big man's coating (AMI's little size functions perfectly to get a medium-sized woman). Alternatively, should you be broke, you can purchase a giant, classic man's fleece trench coat that you keep close with a leather-based belt. And tell everybody it is CƩline.
Shopping for Xmas presents Xmas shopping. Picture: instagramThis may be the time to check out Frenchcore, or Gallic normcore: both low-key and shamelessly decadent. Put on Stan Jones trainers, mens trousers, a thin, cashmere or merino jumper and envelop your self in the largest faux-fur coating you can find. Also, the mega-warmth of the coat (which it is simple to take off) helps you adjust to the constant modify of temp between the roads and the shops. Remember to consider canvas carry bags (preferably with a pretentious cultural statement) with you - plastic-type bags really are a no-no.
We especially like designer Etienne Deroeux pertaining to his easy-to-wear, masculin-fƩminin fundamentals (pictured), ideal for running around just like a vache folle.
Christmas grâce à the family members JacquemusChristmas may be the time you find away half the Parisiennes who are around you actually originate from a town the size of my wallet. In my case, it intended travelling to an Austrian hamlet called Kleegraben to visit my elderly grandma. In any case, it really is a time if you have to appearance chic however, not trendy towards the point of terrifying all of your relatives. You need to look reputable enough to prevent any queries regarding your like life, lovemaking orientation or nightlife practices. Tell your self you are in a nouvelle vague film: I like to put on a long, buttoned-up white clothing, a big cashmere jumper and flat footwear. And inform myself We am Ould - Karina. Simply no visible make-up, minimal jewelry and a minimal ponytail is definitely mandatory -- for which you make up with really special Bardot hammer. Le Moine Tricote is definitely a preferred of my own - quietly conceptual knitwear pieces which will get parent and selfie approval.
