I have been watching the show.

Overall it's been an enjoyable watch. It just confirms a few things for me that I have always known but it's more noticeable here.

I think the first two episodes were a little more intimate. I have always known JK and JM share a close bond. I mean BTS as a whole do so I expect the closeness.

The show has further reiterated my belief that Jimin has a patience of a saint and can and will get past anything and everything. He is also extremely aware of how people feel around him. For instance in the first two episodes, it's pretty obvious he understands that JK doesn't know how to keep people engaged/entertained unless people are thirsting over his body or if he is drinking and signing songs. No offense but doesn't have the charisma to hold audiences intrigue. Also, honestly he looks so skinny especially in the episode 3 that I was a bit confused what everyone was raving about. He isn't as big as people make him out to be lol. All those comparisons posts of how big JK is and how small JM is so funny to me. There are literally like a few centimeters different between them. Yeah he is a bit more muscular but honestly he looked skinny in the new episode. JM then knows he needs to step in and bring in the chilled and entertainment vibe and he does while dying.

I don't think BTS fans understand how much Jimin brings to the team because they are so busy trying to argue about everything Jimin related and trying to make it look like Jimin is nothing without BTS. Literally, these episodes make it even more obvious to me how instrumental he is to their success. He is entertaining, knows when to step in, when to pull back. Like they are so lucky.

I think I have always thought about this but JK is kinda rude. I don't mean with JM because I think there was a bit of banter going on with them but he was rude to V. JM literally had to tell him off when they were go carting. I get that it could be his humour or him trying to be funny but honestly it came across rude. I don't understand why shippers are using the moment. That's not sassy. That's actually rude and if I was V I would be offended. Luckily JM pulls him back and he changes his tune. Can you imagine if he wasn't there as a buffer? God these solos and shippers are so dumb. Jimin is the one that treats your favorites well lol literally. Also the thing that's been obvious and continues to be obvious is that JM is still the one they both buzz around. He is obviously the one that keeps them both grounded because sometimes neither of them have any sense. Once again I go back to the same thing I mentioned before. They don't know how fucking lucky they are haha.

Overall the episodes were good, a bit chaotic. I don't think JM and JK are estranged like people think neither do I think V and JM are. They still share a close bond it seems. It was nice to see them all.

Watching AYS, it just confirms my bias that JM is a great individual with an amazing sense of humor, incredible people skills and just overall a good guy.

jimin's ability to be so aware and patient is why i love him so much. that's the type of person i need in my life personally, so i'm so drawn to his behavior. watching him on ays really just makes me love and appreciate him more.

jimin appears to look so small at times copmared to other memebrs because of his body proportions. someone can have the exact same height and weight as another person but look either tiny or massive in comparison to them. jimin may be only a few centimeters shorter than jungkook but because he has such slender limbs and narrower features, he looks a lot smaller.

jimin is also literally the perfect entertainer. you have too little (jungkook) and then too much (taehyung) and you have jimin, who is the perfect balance. his persona he has on camera is a lot more natural than the one taehyung uses and it really helps to ease everyone into the episode. it also helps bts shows feel a lot more real and personal. it's like watching a hidden camera show rather than a planned program. also how jimin go more for the entertainment route with shows like run bts instead of trying to win everything like jk does. it provides a good balance for the group

bts was honestly really well crafted personality wise and when you take into account all the members strengths and flaws, they end up balancing out really well. it feels really natural, and you can tell they've all rubbed off on each other to the point where every interaction seems almost perfect for the moment

i think jk has been seeming rude to a lot of us recently is probably because he was babied so much. there's a reason authority hands out consequences for poor behavior and it's to teach whoever that what they did was not okay. jk, having grown up surrounded by people that coddle him, probably did not quite learn these things in the same way. that coupled with his newly inflated ego really put a new perspective on his behavior.

i honestly think that bts are all close in a family sort of way. the way they get jealous of each other but still support one another, the way they joke around, their skinship, the way they will not talk to each other for weeks and then come back and be fine. i'm like that with my siblings and relatives so it really just makes sense for them to be that way

"Are you on BeReal? You can post real photos to real friends," a student suggested. "With BeReal, you can express yourself authentically and connect with others without feeling that they judge you," the student continued. Due to the fact that I don't post "fake images to fake friends," I didn't need to "be real," but what the heck? I just joined to see what Gen Zs love about it. I don't get why we have to take (usually) unflattering selfies in front of closets, walls, and desks.

Authenticity and individuality are big things for Generation Z. BeReal encourages users to be vulnerable and build meaningful connections through features like journaling, anonymous sharing, and personal growth challenges. The app also provides a safe space for users to talk about their emotions and thoughts due to its focus on mental health and self-care. This makes BeReal's impact on this demographic palpable. BeReal resonates with Gen Z's values and beliefs because it's about being true to yourself, embracing your uniqueness, and rejecting societal pressure to conform. Young people are encouraged to live their lives with purpose, pursue their passions and dreams, and to be unapologetically themselves by this movement. Not to sound too judgmental, but we are talking about the same generation that idolized personas on Instagram and Tik Tok with all of their "bad habits" to filter, edit, crop, and post content to gather likes and monetize "fun".

Does this mean all social media apps post fake stuff? Well... No, all other social media apps don't (always) post fake content. Some users may feel pressured to present an idealized or curated version of themselves, rather than allowing authenticity and vulnerability. Unlike other social media sites, BeReal focuses on genuine self-expression and connection, while other platforms might emphasize likes, followers, and curated online personalities. That being said, the use of social media is subjective and everyone experiences it differently.

My previous article questioned the copycat culture of social media. Most of the content "creators" try to either copy a successful dance/challenge or comment on other people's videos. I find it utterly boring and non-creative, but apparently, joining such trends brings followers and eventually income. This is why it is critical to encourage creativity and originality by recognizing and rewarding original content that goes beyond simply replicating trends. For now, BeReal doesn't seem to be a platform to monetize content, but give it time. Originally Instagram was about capturing the moment, but now it's the land of whateverness.

Even though I'm not saying anything novel, it's helpful to identify why social media users copy each other. In the first place, it's because of social comparison. On social media, people can compare their success, popularity, or appearance to others'. To fit in or feel better about themselves, people can imitate other people's behavior, posts, or styles. In addition, there's the infamous influencer culture. The rise of social media influencers has made copying others a common behavior, as individuals aim to emulate the lifestyles, aesthetics, and behavior of popular individuals. Another factor that contributes to people replicating trends is FOMO. Ther Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) can also lead users to imitate others on social media, as they want to keep up with the experiences that others are sharing. In some cases, individuals may not have the creativity or originality to come up with their own content, leading them to copy others. Last but not least, copying others on social media is also a way to feel validated. This is because they may feel that they will receive more likes, comments, or followers if they imitate popular trends or behaviors.

It's pertinent to note that while copying others on social media can provide temporary validation or a sense of fitting in, it can also contribute to negative feelings such as low self-esteem and a lack of individuality. Copying others could lead to feelings of inadequacy when one's own accomplishments don't measure up to those of others. It could also lead to feelings of being inauthentic and not true to oneself, which can further contribute to a lack of self-confidence.

This is why I find BeReal so boring and intriguing at the same time. Since individuals want to express themselves on social media, it's far better to express their authentic selves and find their own voices. Even better if we can communicate outside of social media.

Alatus was once told a story by his Master. A sinner who falls into hell is rewarded for his only good deed, choosing not to kill a spider. As his reward, a thread is lowered down for him to climb out of Hell. In the end, the sinner remains in Hell because he kicks aside others and the thread breaks. Alatus doesn't remember why his Master told him this story but he still empathizes with the sinner. He would have done the same or asked for this 'saviour' to extend their hand down instead. That way he could pull them down.

"Xiao? Are you okay?"

He slowly opens his jade eyes to see you hunch over, peering down above him, eyebrows furrowed together in concern as you reach down and softly tap his temple. He allows you to take a moment to do whatever you want with his face before he reaches up to grasp at your wrist gently, holding back on his want to rub circles into your skin. His reminiscing can wait for now.

"What is it?" he asks curtly, sitting up and resting his elbow on his raised knee. You pout at his curt tone but shrug it off as you take a seat next to him and lean your shoulder against his. You dig into your bag and pull out slips of commission papers and hand it over to him to read through what needed to be done today. A few Hilichurl camps needed to be taken care of, sabotaging a slime balloon, all tasks that seem mundane to someone who fought in a war. As he's preoccupied, you take a moment to look at Xiao's face. He's just the slightest bit unnerved whenever you do this because you always seem to know what's bothering someone.

"Were you dreaming of her again?" you ask quietly. The silence is a good enough answer but you nod understandingly. You never knew his Master personally but you did fight a long strenuous battle against her. From one look you could tell she was a manipulative and cruel woman. While it may not be very kind to say, you were glad that with her passing, Xiao would be free from her physically. But mentally...there were still some things to work out. But Xiao was a very reclusive person, especially with his emotions, so pushing him any further would only make him irritated and closed off.

"Venti and Zhongli are joining our party for a bit if that’s alright. They'll help out a lot with our commissions and travelling. I like Liyue a lot but climbing mountains stresses my shoulders out," you laugh as you change the subject to something less depressing. Standing up as you dust your clothes off before turning to Xiao and holding your hand out for him to take. He stares at it hard for a few moments before huffing and reaching over to clasp your hands together.

It has been so frustratingly peaceful since the war ended. He's not used to it and he can still feel the lick of cutting winds and the heavy pressure of rocks against his body when he sees the bard and funeral parlor consultant just on the horizon. If it were up to him, he wouldn't play nice with these two Archons but they're important to you so he bites his tongue until he tastes blood. He knows the Archons do the same. As soon as the two of them spot you both, Venti is already rushing and tackling you to the ground in his excitement.

"Traveler! I haven't seen you in ages. You need to come and visit Mondstadt more," Venti cried into your shoulder as you awkwardly patted him on his back. Always with the dramatics but you cared about Venti all the same. Xiao scoffed before flicking his jade eyes to meet gold as Zhongli stared down at him cautiously. Since the war ended, everyone seemed to have this warped idea that Alatus had some vendetta against the Gods and Celestia but he was fighting because he was told to.

"Xiao. It's good to see you again," Zhongli said to him. Xiao just nodded in acknowledgement. Even with this new mortal form, Morax never bothered to change his eyes. His gaze alone held the weight of the mountains he had thrown. If Xiao hadn’t been under one of them before, he might have crumbled under the pressure.

"Alright alright, Venti. I promise I'll drop by sometime this month but we still have commissions to do!" you laugh as you haul the bard onto his feet and swat his cape down from the speckles of dirt. He grins cheekily at you, linking pinkies with you to seal your promise, before suddenly lighting up as if he just remembered something.

"Actually! Before we start anything, I need to speak to Mr. Zhongli and Xiao. Super important archon things, you know?" Venti nodded to himself as the two mentioned people stared at him with varying levels of confusion. But Venti just waved their worries off and linked his arms with both men as he dragged them off to a more secluded corner with a surprising amount of strength, “We’ll be right back!”

"Do what you need to do but don't take too long," you called after the trio as you trailed off to the side, messing with your bag of commission papers and gear. Xiao hated that. He knows that these two Archons are your...friends.. but shouldn't you be a bit more cautious? Just because they have mortal forms doesn’t make them human, it doesn’t make him human either.

"Hey, there's no need to look so scary. There really is something important I wanted to talk to the two of you about," Venti speaks up as soon as you're out of earshot. It still gives Xiao whiplash whenever he drops the persona and switches back to Barbatos. "Since Morax is the only Archon I trust with this information and, while I don't trust you one bit, you're the one that's with her all the time you should also know. She's ascending to Celestia."

Barbatos gauges both of their reactions. Morax seems visibly surprised, his eyes slightly widened a fraction, while Xiao has no idea what that means. His Master didn’t exactly give him a history lesson on Celestia or Archons, just pointed to who was his enemy and dealt punishments when he failed.

"And what the hell does that mean?" Xiao asks as he crosses his arms. Venti appears for a second as the bard pouts before continuing.

"It's like I said. A mortal who performs great, heroic feats can ascend to Celestia and achieve godhood. Where they will watch over their people from above. I've only seen this once before so it took me a while to recognize the signs. But 1000 years ago, I helped a woman named Vennessa with her ascension and with the traveler's recent actions with winning the war. Well, you don't need me to explain the rest," Barbatos finishes. Zhongli simply hums as he cups his chin and absorbs what's just been heard. He doesn’t seem troubled by the news at all.

"Have you told her about this?" Zhongli questions as he looks towards the direction that you left. Venti shakes his head. “That would mean that she would vanish from this world."

“I know she loves this world. Whether she wishes to ascend or not isn’t my choice but I want her to continue her travels with that beloved smile on her face. But if she does choose to ascend, she will need our help," Venti stares at the two of them in a mix of pride, sadness, and determination. "Can I count on you two for your help?"

It's a complete white noise in Xiao's ears as his surroundings fade out. He thinks he can see Zhongli nod to Venti wishes, the ever calm smile on his face to match the cheery grin on Venti’s. What, now you want to become a God? Leave this world behind? That’s not funny. You made him give up everything. While in your eyes, your blinded hero syndrome, you think you've liberated him from a soulless conquest but he still has nothing. You still took everything away from him and your only compensation was to have him by your side until he left himself. But now you want to leave without a warning? That’s not fair. You don’t get to take back what you owe. He won't allow you to leave him behind.

“Did something happen? Did Venti say something unnecessary again?” you ask out of the blue. Zhongli and Venti had returned to their respective regions once your commissions were all finished. Since the three of them disappeared to talk Archon business, Xiao had seemed even more tense and aloof than usual. As if he was out of it? You knew that everyone was still suspicious of Xiao and they were angsty to leave you alone with him, but you knew Xiao would never do anything to hurt you. When he doesn't answer, you slowly reach over and you subtly nudge his head up onto your lap and look at him curiously. Before reaching down and cupping his cheek. He leans into your touch before turning his face into your palm and leaving a soft kiss. It makes you giggle at the ticklish feeling as you look at him so softly. It annoys him.

"You were never connected to the war and yet you fought against us anyways. Even when I killed so many people, why did you choose to spare me?" he asked as you blinked at him before giving it some serious thought. He went on a rampage and almost destroyed the world. It was fun. He doesn't have any regrets at all because he hated humanity. His own Master was human after all. But then you appeared and stopped him. A random outsider that wanted to play the hero. He thought it was cute. Perhaps he had underestimated the lengths someone would go to to save the world they loved but when he fell defeated at your feet. He said that this wouldn't change a single thing. He would still scorn humanity and what they did to him. He was so sure he would die there but you chose to extend your hand down to him instead despite what your companions felt. Even when the war ended and he had nowhere else to go, you offered him to travel with you. Nothing changed about his mentality, every person that chose to talk to him was quickly scared away with piercing eyes. Every conversation started would end in silence. Every touch would be met by the tip of his spear. But you would link your hands together with his and smile brightly, and he would always end up forgetting his trauma for a moment. You’ve... become precious to him.

"I love this world and everyone in it. You are a part of that world even if you tried to destroy it. It...didn't seem fair to leave you behind when you've suffered just as much," you finish but it only seemed to spark a wave of deep anger inside of Xiao. He quickly lurched up, almost knocking your forehead with his, before grabbing the scruff of your shirt collar and yanking you forward.

"Cut it out with that "love of everything" crap. It's revolting. So you're saying the people I killed weren't worth avenging? Do you think I'm so weak that I need protection? It's one thing to try and please everyone but at least have some awareness would you?" he snarled as he pushed you to the ground. He knew he was being harsh on you and you had every right to walk out and abandon him but you didn't. Of course, you wouldn't. You needed him as much as he needed you. You just reached over and tenderly reached your hand and placed it next to his. Damn it, why is he always the one stuck worrying about you.

"Then you want to protect me, right? Then don't break your promise. You left me alive which means you have a duty to live for me," he takes your hand in his and squeezes hard. Digging his nails into your own until crescents appear and tiny specks of blood appear so you know he's serious. He doesn't care how you interpret his words, just so long as you never leave him.

"Don't die on me, Hero."

It's been a few hours since the conversation so it's pitch black outside but Xiao was never one to sleep. Even if he could, his mind is too loud to fall asleep too. He's startled when you melt against him fully asleep. Honey smooth as you curl up to his warmth and cling to him like moss to a rock. He can feel his cheeks start to flush as his heart begins to pound against his chest. He can't breathe as his world is filtered through each beat that drums against his ears. He's not sure if there's actually something wrong with him or if it's just been a while since someone got so close and his instincts haven't left.

He's just realized it. He's feeling pain. The feeling in his chest is black but he can't claw it away. It's strange in a way that he can't explain it, that he's never felt before, that he's never felt the need to experience. His life had been warped by battle and a constant push to submit to his Master. They are all things he knows but the gentle words that come from your mouth, the bright eyes that hold the world, the horrible ice-hot feeling inside of him is so foreign yet too easy. He doesn't like it.

It makes him feel...clean in a way. Enlightened perhaps? His Master is long gone and it's like you said. He's free now. Free to make his own decisions and live his life how he wants to. He carefully turns over so as to not startle you away as he really looks at you. You look so peaceful in his arms, eyelids shut without worry, face slack without nightmares, breathing so softly against him. If you weren't so close to him that he couldn't feel the rise of your chest, he wonders if he would think you were dead. He stares at the lock of hair swaying back and forth with each breath like a starved man. The strange feeling doesn't stop. He hates it. It's everything that goes against him and what he knows and everything he should want. He's supposed to be the villain in your story, he should kill you right now-

"Xiao..." he hears you mumble beside him as you lean further into his arm. Damn it. How low is he going to go?

“What are you thinking about now? You just need to think about me. Don’t think about anything else...but me” Xiao sighs before he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into him until you're snug against his chest. Close to him, where he can touch you, where you belong. Not with Morax or Barbatos. Not with humans but beside him. He closes his eyes and nuzzles his head into your hair and he stares off into the distance. The feeling never leaves him for the remainder of the night.

"Ah! There you are. I was running around crazy looking for you," he turns his hair to see your flushed form pulling yourself up onto the mountain cliff, "When I woke up I couldn’t find you anywhere! You gave me a scare there."

He hates you. He hates you.

Words of his previous master ring in his ears, almost as if her very soul is wrapping around him as she whispers in his ear how weak he is. Ones with power that refuse to take what they want because they rather live in the comfort of nothing. Be greedier, take what belongs to you.

"Xiao?" you say as his piercing eyes stare directly through you. His Master always told him that she loved him. Even if he hated her he still clung to that false love. Of being wanted. Isn't love for a single person vile? Would feeling such emotions for one person instead of "everyone" bring you down to reality? It's not fair that you've crawled your way into his heart while you walk along in bliss. Now that he thinks about it. It was so simple. He just needs to monopolize your thoughts and love. This time it won't be as friends.

"I love you."

He'll pull you down to where he is. You extended your hand down to hell so it's your fault. He'll drag you down kicking and screaming if he has to. You left him alive. You have to live for him and by him. He's not letting go.

How do you think Ed reacted when Bart came back home? Do you think they fought, that Ed knew he’d be gone, etc.?

I'm sooo split about this because my brain was churning every episode of season 4 to figure out how/what Ed was up to and feeling

For a while, when I believed the Outsiders were going to have a role, I thought Ed didn't know. Bart doesn't want to add unnecessary stress to anyone because it's a simple (no it's not) mission! In n out easy peasy! So I thought the Outsiders plot would kick in when Bart's mission went off the rails, that the team would notice and do something to try to find him.

Especially with the ending of Rocket's arc and the beginning of Dick's, I thought there was good chance for the 2nd gen to get involved. I thought Jay realizing Bart isn't home would get Ed involved, or the double date of Jaime, Traci, Tye, and Asami would lead to them getting a notice from either Ed himself or Jay asking where Bart is.

If Ed didn't know, I think he'd be a mess when they get Bart back. I always think it hits way harder when a character faced with a personal betrayal acts opposite to what you may first think. So instead of Ed touching into his hot-headed worry and it coming off more aggressive to Bart's return (and I mean this in a "you idiot I was worried about you! How could you do something stupid like this!" Way where they're more emotional about it before thinking of the other's reasoning) I think Ed just crying and not having the words would be impactful

We've been talking a lot about Ed and the potential for him to have some form of abandonment issues or hating the idea of being alone and people finding you not worthy to stick by. So having Bart missing for weeks with the only lead being the footage Dick and Co uncover, it would seem like Bart just, didn't find Ed important enough to tell. (Which again, sure isn't the case, I think Bart just really didn't want to worry everyone)

So Ed not knowing, and seeing Bart worse off than when he last saw him and he's also slipping into his "speedster" persona (there's a fic and good Tumblr posts that talk about how the way Bart talks once in contact with the League is very reminiscent of his season 2 act), I'd imagine Ed would feel heartbroken firstly. A large wave of emotion, all those worries and doubts coming to the surface and being released. The worry that Bart isn't ok and the doubts of maybe Bart left for good or doesn't think you matter, just dripping off of Ed when he sees him.

They would need a long talk afterward, Ed wouldn't leave his side and would help Bart recover before even beginning to unload his mentality from the previous weeks. Bart would feel so guilty.

Now if Ed was made aware by Bart that he had something he needed to do, I think that's when Ed would react to seeing him again with a bit more anger.

That worry that Bart is leaving Ed for who Ed is, is dampened in his mind by Bart opening up to inform him. So he has the space to feel the aggressive worry of, knowing Bart is doing *something* but not being able to help or do anything about it.

Ed would fret over Bart seeing him again and would make him promise to plan out a backup in case he has something like this again, or let Ed come with him. Ed probably would've felt helpless and with his own sense of guilt as the days of Bart being gone continued and he can't say anything.

Either way, if Bart told Ed about his mission, they'd have a long, long talk afterward about taking more precautions. About how opening up is a good first step, but allowing help is necessary. That Bart shouldn't try to handle all on his own and should plan a backup despite what the Legion warned him of. That Ed is important and it's not that he's lesser, that he matters so much that's why Bart tried to keep him out of it. That Ed doesn't have to worry about Bart leaving him without a word, that Ed is not going to be alone again

I have a lot of thoughts about their relationship and how this thread could continue to season 5 (but with the HBO max n DC controversy and the Jason Spisak stuff....I don't think it's in the works)

social media truly is toxic for your mental health. I just went through my Instagram and un-followed around 130 people/pages over the last two days because I realized it wasn't doing anything for me to be connected with these people/accounts. I recently saw a meme, of all things, that said something along the lines of, "this thing isn't actually a big deal, you just secretly enjoy being angry." And this really got me thinking about something else I recently saw which was like, "social media companies have figured out that what keeps people engaged are anger and sex and so those things get incorporated into the algorithm to keep you scrolling and scrolling."

I had been following lots of political accounts—some were actual politicians in Congress, others were former politicians, some were advocacy, many were meme accounts, and many many were identity politics accounts. I think when I re-joined Instagram in May 2020 Instagram got flooded with social justice fervor, which then continued through the rest of the summer into the election of November 2020, followed soon thereafter by the Jan. 6 insurrection hysteria, and then again the following spring in April 2021 with the escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Things maybe calmed down for a bit during the summer until the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, then the Texas anti-abortion bill soon afterwards, then Covid Delta surge in October 2021 which then was followed for like a 3-month period between November 2021 and January 2022 of Covid Omicron surge. This was then capped off by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Basically, Instagram is now the place of doom-scrolling. I wouldn't say all accounts or content produced surrounding these events are bad either, in fact some of them contained good bits of analysis for all these events. That doesn't mean it's good to be constantly scrolling through there though. Like maybe if you were someone who doesn't extensively use IG or rely on it to stay in touch with people back home or with other long-distance friends, then you aren't actually on there that much so the algorithm's temptation isn't there to exploit you as much. For me, however, I never really stepped away from IG after it blew up with fervor in June 2020. I relied it on since I didn't really know anyone in my new city—and it's tough to meet new people when you're constantly busy with schoolwork anyway—so I was kinda trapped in my room (monk's cell?) through these whole past two years with Instagram being one of my few escapes. And when one of your only escapes is constantly telling you how bad the world is and constantly trying to apply sociological analyses onto every single thing, it really starts to make you feel like everything is hopeless.

And there it is—"you are here because you enjoy being angered, etc.". The algorithm gave me these pages to look at because it profiled me and found out how to keep me engaged. I don't enjoy being angry but social media likes you to be angry while on their platforms so you don't leave. I think part of truly being mindful is understanding when a space is actively working against your wellbeing and, if so, then you need to take action to either reconstruct that space or leave. I've done both. I removed a lot of people who I don't know from my feed and I've had a time limit on IG that I've been following for a few months now (probably February of this year).

There is something very weird. It's almost like if you aren't posting on IG, are you even real? We have our online and in-person personas and I'm not sure it's so good to compartmentalize our minds into these halves if we aren't being paid to do it. Probably the best thing to do is actually leave IG but I don't have the will to do that, just because I have so many people I'm connected with on there that I wouldn't have connection with otherwise. But maybe that's also the point? We'll see.

MATTER OF THE DAY

Thanks to everyone that's shared your thoughts on this matter with me and thanks to that person that brought this matter to my attention.

I haven't looked into it and I don't know how severe this issue is.

I think people have the right to believe in anything they want to believe in. Personally, I don't think Santa is real but clearly others do, doesn't mean I'm sane or that they are crazy.

I don't think discussions of this nature should be about who is right or who is wrong. Everyone's opinion is valid and holds true to their own delusions. Lol.

Frankly, I prefer this kind of ship wars to the slurs and abuses and they are distributing hard core porn now?? What is going on! Chileee.

I have never believed JK and Tae to be anything more than friends. At one point, I wondered if they were even friends at all lol but since they admitted to having had a falling out themselves at one point the topic is now moot.

Tae and JK have- had- have a really special bond. To me anyways. I always saw them as the evil power twins of BTS due their ability to come together to wreck havoc especially on Bang PD's scripts. Lol. I think I have mentioned this a few times now.

I smiled to myself when I heard them call themselves partners in crime. The bond is there no two ways about it- you either appreciate it for what it is or you don't. personally I love their bond. Can't stand their shippers but I love their bond. They keep the drama going for me- love it. Lol

The question has always been whether their bond is as profound as their shippers make it seem. I argue it's not and I will always argue it is not. Lol

I think it's only fair that they also question whether Jikook's bond is as profound as we make it sound. I really can't be mad at that. All is fair in love and war- at the very least we can agree to disagree.

I mean even Jikookers themselves question the extent of JK and JM's bond. Some think they are just very special friends and nothing more. I think I talked about this in my is Jikook real post when I mentioned labels and the degree of love between JK and JM?

We know JK and JM have a unique bond. The question then is how far does that bond go. Is it just platonic, romantic or something in between?

This is the question I was aiming to answer with my is Jikook real post. My objective was to try and dismantle all the nuances that keep us from seeing the 'truth' about Jikook- that they are real. At least the way I see them.

I talked about unrealistic expectations we have of Jikook, false conditionings that often leads us to see Jikook as something more than they are- the amplified Jikook. We get used to highlight reels of Jikook's interactions in edits such that we feel there is something wrong with them when we see them in real time.

I mentioned that Jimin's nurturing nature often also estops people from reading more into his relationship with JK. He is nurturing of everyone, JK ain't special- they argue, just as this person is doing.

I talked about Jimin's Idol persona, the facade of the boy in love with JK- Jimin's role within BTS since debut and how that can equally blind us into thinking Jikook is something more or less than they really are. I have a post dedicated to this topic sitting in my drafts so I will not go into the details of it here. Please look forward to that.

But this person's post touches on another aspect of Jimin's personality that I feel is one of the things that often keeps us from seeing his relationship with JK for what it really is- his inclination for professionalism.

I keep saying this, several times now, that Jimin's Idol persona to me seems well developed, elaborate and very elusive.

I have mentioned a few times how I think during Jikook break ups that they keep it civil and professional for the sake of the team and that you might not even notice the difference especially if you place high value on their skinship.

The skinship would be there, the cordiality and civility would equally be there- except for moments when they are fighting, that gets bloody. Lol. They are best friends at the very least. It is why it's important to reevaluate the metrics we use to determine whether or not they are a couple.

I wish I could dialogue with this person to understand her assessment of Jikook and what she is using to determine whether or not Jikook are a couple and what makes her think Tae and JK are. Know what I mean?

What makes her think Jikook were a couple before 2017? What makes y'all think Jikook are a couple at all? I would like to hear from y'all- but come at me with the skinship bit and I'll block you deadass. Lol

So on this person's post, I think I agree with her assessment of JM's persona but I don't agree with the Jikook have been broken up since 2017. And I think I understand where this is coming from... I think some of us do. Yes they had a few fights that year especially leading up to Jimin's birthday- August was it? but we all know JK more than made up for it with the damn GCFs. Lol. kindly visit the timeline, peruse as many content as you can and form your own opinion on it. This is just mine.

Are Jikook Jikooking all the time? Absolutely not. They are human too. They fight, they make up, they break up they get back together, they have introverted, extroverted moments, they go up, they go down- have bad hair days, it's all part of their dynamics I'm afraid. From my point of view of course.

I feel some people notice these things too and when they sense Jikook aren't in a good place they bow out and Jump ship- I don't blame them. They are shippers not supporters. What Jikook need are supporters not shippers- or maybe both, do you.

Could this person be one such people? DNF shippers? Given up on Jikook before the end of their story? I don't know. May be.

Jikook is not a fantasy that you ship. It's a relationship that you support. You can't escape into them. They are an ongoing love story- chapters close, chapters open, you just have to ride it out till the very end.

I think the challenge of their post for me is whether or not Jikook is a performance. Her post leans into the whole Jikook is fanservice bull especially in light of the recent photoshoot video which some are using as evidence Jikook don't 'click' when the cameras are off- the lies they tell on Beyonce's internet!

I think I have speculated on this and shared my thoughts on this whole Jikook is fanservice bit. I will delve deeper into it in my next post on Jimin's idol persona but as I've already said, Jikook is fanservice is equally a misnomer.

Yes Jikook does fanservice sometimes, but they are not fanservice. Fanservice is the cover for their relationship. It's their glass ceiling- nothing to see here folks just two snakes under glass. Keep it pushing. (Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Lol)

But you do raise a valid question, what is Jikook like when the cameras are not filming?

Is the mood of Jikook in that footage the general mood of Jikook behind cameras as Tuktukkers are claiming? They barely interact, JM doesn't pay much attention to Kook, yadda yadda yadda?

And the part that gives me a complex, that JK only interacts with JM when they are the center of attention. Huh???????????

Sigh.

I feel caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.

The theory you pointed out in support of this assertion isn't mine and I think I made it clear I didn't share the same thoughts on it. I said it was valid nevertheless. Chilee, this is hard. Lol

Yes JK is an introvert, Jimin is an extrovert, JM doesn't live for JK, all that is true and some Jikookers have said that too- so when you ask, if this is who they are when the cameras are off does that mean what they do when the cameras turn on is fanservice-

Personally, I'd like to know whether or not they see the tension in that footage as tension in the first place. Chileee I don't know.

I see it as tension. Not a very serious one though. So we'd have to agree to disagree on that one.

But the part I can argue, the part I agree with is Jikook aren't hyper super duper lovey dovey on each other all the time. They aren't cuddly all the time. They have their moments of quiet- Jimin seems like the more affectionate kind who'd rub all over JK in the comfort of their homes but still...

If you ask me though, I think Jikook are tamer on cameras than they are behind scenes. I always talk about the fear and panic in the members' eyes when they see Jikook gravitating towards each other- it's probably because they know the extent of Jikook's shenanigans. They know how worse it can be because they've seen it all.

And when JK panics sometimes when JM gets closer too you just know dude is scared perhaps because of his Mochi chick's devil may care shamelessly in love policies- Jimin wild. Bless him.

I did say also that Memories 2019 is equally eye opening. These were censored bits. BigHit was holding all of that and giving us crumbs- stingy mfs. Bless.

All that said, again I don't think Jikook are hyper lovey on eachother behind the scenes. Another part I diverge from that view is that this is not exactly off camera. It was just behind the scenes of a photoshoot. Something we've seen a countless times.

This is not BTS's first ever behind scenes photoshoot. It's just a different angle that's all.

They were working. They were at work. This wasn't an alone private space for them so they can't base on this to say Jikook don't interact when the cameras are off.

The cameras were rolling. We saw them interact, JM was interacting with everyone the way he always does on camera all the time except he wasn't interacting with JK the way he does all the time, grainy footage or not- I mean let's call a spade a spade and not a big fat spoon. Lol

As to why he was doing that- let's just say there are many schools of thoughts.

My thought as I've said is JM was freezing JK out. I think with anyone that's recognized and is familiar with Jikook fights, that mood is all too familiar as I mentioned earlier.

If JM was being courteous and not mad at his man then he would have kept it 'professional' and done the 'fanservice' bit with Jk as per usual just as this person is saying since the cameras were still rolling.

Jikook is not fanservice. They are real.

I have refrained from providing a detailed analysis of that '5 minutes' footage for reasons I will explain later when I do share my thoughts on that footage- eventually. Some day.

But my hypothesis remains the same that I think Jikook were fighting or had a minor issue. As to why they were fighting, chileee I don't know. The confirmation bias in me feel it had something to do with JM's birthday but honestly it could have been over anything at all- dumplings, microphones- we all saw that slap on stage, a certain Iphone notification perhaps, did JinMin make a secret VLive without Kook again? Lol

There are plethora of reasons, I can only speculate on a few. And I think we've all seen Jimin when he is not 'Jimining' with the others, JK included. Take his mood with Tae at GDA for example- since this is not a VMin post I won't go into it.

But it seems they squashed whatever beef they were having on stage when JM extended his hands to Tae and they shaked it out.

We've seen him and Suga bicker too- which again, I am not gonna to get into out of respect for their shippers but I can point you to the On comeback VLive early this year when Suga touched JM and JM mouthed Hajima to him- which I think had something to do with what was going on with him and JK at the time but that is besides the point. Every shipper for themselves.

I contrast his 'fights' with Suga and V to show you the difference between Jimin being professional and courteous and Jimin being rah rah. He was sat next to suga, talking and laughing with him but snapped the moment Suga held his back.

He did the same in the Dynamite MV Vlive, smiling and laughing with Suga but the moment JK teased him with the Yoonmin comment his countenance fell.

Jimin is not that good of an actor if you ask me. I have said he is very Kumbaya in nature, often makes compromises for the sake of the team but that don't mean he is a pushover or one to trifle with- he scares me when he is mad. Lmho.

The scene in that footage didn't look to me as that he was being nice and courteous to JK- is that y'all's definition of professional courtesy? Damn.

If they were having a lover's squabble then the 'icy' mood of Jikook we saw in that footage is not the general mood of Jikook when the camera's are turned off.

I have to state again that I don't know much of what goes on behind the cameras and most of the things we see sometimes are equally missing context.

That been said we have seen enough of Jikook 'behind cameras' and they are more intimate than we can imagine. A certain cozy selfie at the back of an abandoned truck comes to mind. Whatever they were doing at the back of the track wasn't intended for the cameras judging from JK's reaction.

We've had glimpses of Jikook when they are not the center of attention enough to have a fair idea of what they are when cameras are off and I don't think it is that mood we saw in that footage.

We saw them at Jingle ball bell, towards the end of 2019. We saw them in their own space doing what they do best- making us feel single as fuck. Bless them.

We've seen them at awards, we've seen JK eating Jimin's ear nom nom to calm him down- like I would have just bought him icecream to calm down his nerves or rubbed his back but whatever JK. He is your man; you know him best. Good for him. Good for both of you. Now come back and feed us.

And the bit about JK only laughing with JM when he noticed he was on the Bangtan Bomb cameras in that footage- now that's nasty below the belts phony ass ass! I felt that one straight in my chest, shit. Lol

Dude was in a doghouse it seemed and I noticed them stealing glances at each other and.... sigh.

I just think JK was looking for an opening to warm his way back into JM's good graces- it's really nothing we haven't seen before.... sigh.

This is 2020 that narrative of JK hates Jimin, JK doesn't like JM needs to stop. It's dead. Pack it up. Chileee, y'all tried it with this one.

JK is so fake and fraudulent he glared RM down till he stepped away from Jimin- again, in the very same photoshoot footage y'all swear to God is proof Jikook is not real.

Find it. RM stood next to JM. Looks up see's something- or someone. Does his tell- the hand to head thingy he does when JK glares at him over Jimin. He backs away inches from JM.

Cut to JK. Dudes a mood. Jin bumps into him, stares at him but JK wouldn't even look at him and then deadass looks away grumpyly- talk of professionalism. You doing great swidy keep going!

You can hide a relationship, fake it on God but you can never hide the intimacy. Taekook just lack that intimacy, I'm sorry. Even in that 'estranged' moment Jikook's intimacy was still there-

Even in whatever mood JK was in- which again, I believe was just due to their lover's squabble- JK still was claiming his man and exercising his right of authority over him. That's how you know they are not broken up. In my opinion. Chileee. I'm gonna get in trouble. Deep sigh.

Y'all think JK was hovering over Jimin because he was preparing to strike him down like a censored censored censored? Yea, he was preparing to strike alright- All the corners of Jimin's heart. Y'all better stop before I find you. Lol

As I've posited, JM I feel was mad as hell for whatever reason and wasn't in the space to be that person JK needed him to be- in that moment. Doesn't mean they are like that behind scenes all the time.

And before I get attacked again for causing drama, being toxic etc by Jikookers understand that I am just a delusional person shipping these two in a way that makes sense to me. Write me off as delulu, and go please.

Whatever ambiguity surrounds that moment, to me, Jin and RM's reaction to JK clarifies things a bit. Jikook were boiling hot. JK was still keeping an eye on his man. Lol. Bless them. That's my conclusion. I'm running miles with that. Catch me. Lol

I'm not sure how long that fight lasted but from the rain day incident I'm hoping it wasn't that long. Jikook are fine I believe- I hope. Summary: While Todoroki Shouto wasn’t necessarily the most outgoing person in the world, nor was he the warmest, you still couldn’t help but think that he hated you. After all, he gave you every reason to think so. So, what happens when the two of you are partnered together, and you find yourself talking about all the misconceptions you have of each other?

If there was one person who was the bane of your existence, it’d be Todoroki Shouto.

You weren’t really sure of when you started to feel that way about him, and, you had to admit, there were times when you felt bad for thinking so poorly of the boy. However, every time you’d try and start a conversation, you’d be met with either one worded answers or pure silence, which would then make you feel justified in how you feel.

At first, when Todoroki first started to ignore you, you thought that you had done something to insult him, which caused you to apologize profusely, not wanting to anger any of your classmates, especially since the two of you would have to work together eventually, so you may as well have a positive relationship. However, when you went over to him to apologize for something you weren’t even sure of, he’d completely dismissed you, turning to face away from you as if you weren’t even there. It stung, if you were being completely honest.

It hurt you to see him have such good relationships with the rest of the class. Hell, he even talked to Bakugou more than you, the boy who would consistently yell at him that they weren’t friends, and to leave him alone. You’d be lying if you said that you hadn’t cried over it a handful of times, purely because you weren’t even sure what you did to make him hate you.

However, you eventually got over the hurt and guilt, and instead made it your every day duty to annoy him in some way, shape, or form. After all, if he wanted to hate you, then he may as well have a reason for it.

You did everything in your power to make his life just slightly more miserable. If there was ever a time when he screwed up in heroes training, you’d make a snide comment about it, making sure that you were just loud enough for Todoroki to hear it, but not loud enough for your teachers to hear. When your midterm grades were posted, and you noticed that you scored higher than him, you’d tease him that maybe he should try harder, that you had barely even studied for that test.

Which was completely a lie. You did not sleep for at least three nights because of that midterm, but Todoroki didn’t need to know that.

If you were being completely honest with yourself, all of your teasing comments and snide remarks came out of a place of insecurity. You were insecure about just why Todoroki wouldn’t even look at you, why he seemed to hate you and seemingly only you. It didn’t help to see him hanging out with all of your mutual friends, having a good time, and even joking around with a few of them, to then dropping his calm persona and leaving as soon as you made your presence known. So, while it was a flawed concept, and you knew that it wasn’t nice to pick on him, you thought that getting any sort of reaction from him was better than nothing, even if it were embarrassment and annoyance most of the time.

So, when the two of you were paired together for kitchen duty that night at the dorms, it was safe to say that it was probably one of the most awkward experiences of your life.

Since all of the students in 1-A lived on campus, Iida and Yaoyorozu had created a chore chart for the rest of the class to follow, outlining the duties of the students while living on campus. Right beside the chore chart was a little sign up sheet, which you’d go to in order to get your chores assigned for the week. This week, you had been the first person to sign up for cooking duty, fully expecting to have to either deal with Bakugou, or have a pleasant night chatting away with Yaoyorozu. However, what you weren’t expecting was to come face to face with Todoroki, who seemed to already know that you were his partner for the night.

While it wasn’t your favorite pairing to date, you decided to at least pretend to be a little civil, if not for your sake, then for the sake of your friend’s dinner.

Walking over to him, you took the apron from the hanger beside him, not even bothering to look him in the eye, “What? Nothing else was left for you?”

“I chose to be here,” He stated, his voice the same monotone that you grew a strong distain for.

Rolling your eyes, you finished tying your apron, moving to the pantry to grab your ingredients. “Well, don’t just stand there, why don’t you make yourself useful?”

The majority of the time you spent with Todoroki was in an uncomfortable silence, and from the corner of your eye, you could see his gaze occasionally fall onto your form. Whenever you’d try to catch his gaze, he’d immediately turn back to whatever he was doing in the first place, his shoulders stiffening ever so slightly. During those times, you’d feel your heart drop to your stomach, but you didn’t say anything.

It was when the two of you were standing at the stove when he finally spoke, nearly spooking you.

“So, have you finished the heroes law homework?”

Scrunching your brow, you turned your head to look at him, an unamused look finding its way to your face. “Really? For the past twenty minutes you’ve made it pretty clear that you didn’t want to talk, and now all of a sudden you’re looking for topics?”

You almost felt bad for responding so rudely, but when his stoic mask hadn’t changed, you found yourself only growing more irritated. Scoffing, you turned back towards what you were doing, not bothering to answer his question. Your blatant disapproval didn’t seem to deter him, however, as he continued to talk.

“Midoriya says that I should try and talk to you more,” He started, pausing when you let out a huff of disbelief, “Since you’re the only person I can’t seem to get close to,”

You gave him a look, almost asking if he were stupid. “Who’s fault is that? Because it’s certainly not mine,”

You turned away quickly, missing how his features softened just slightly, his pride wounded a bit from your uncooperativeness. As you moved to grab the dishes, he trailed behind you, grabbing things off the shelves.

“I didn’t mean to say it was your fault, I was just stating the obvious,”

That also was not the correct thing to say, he realized, as you let out a mocking laugh, brushing past him. “Well maybe you should learn how to word things correctly, then,”

His annoyance got the better of him, as he stepped in front of you, effectively blocking your path. “Why are you being so difficult?”

You looked at him, as if he’d grown a second head. “You’re serious?”

When he didn’t budge, you sighed, setting down your dishes before crossing your arms, “Look, you don’t have to force yourself to pretend that we’re friends, because we’re not. You don’t like me, and, honestly, I don’t really like you either, so just drop the nice act,”

That was certainly a surprise to him. Tilting his head, he voiced his confusion.

“Who said that I didn’t like you?”

“It’s pretty obvious, Todoroki,” You said, and, not that he’d tell you, but it made his heart flutter when you said his name, “You constantly avoid me, and if we’re ever forced to be around each other, you barely give me the time of day, only talking in short bursts. Whenever I walk into the room you get all silent and then leave immediately, as if that isn’t rude. Just because Midoriya wants you to get along with everyone in the class doesn’t mean that you have to do it, so let’s just go back to mutually ignoring each other,”

You tried pushing past him, only to be blocked by his arm, causing you to groan in frustration. Just as you were about to chew him out, you noticed just how close he was to you, almost as if you could feel the heat radiating off of him.

You sucked in your breath as he leaned closer to your face, close enough where you could feel his breath fanning across your cheeks.

“I don’t hate you,” He started, and you could tell your stubbornness was getting to him, as he started to grow agitated, “I’ve never hated you,”

“Hmm, so you do have emotions,” You mocked, moving closer to him, watching as he squirmed slightly, a light pink flush now dusting his cheeks, “Then tell me, why are you always ignoring me? Always acting as though I’m a nuisance?”

It seemed as though his cheeks were becoming inflamed at this point, with a bright red blush tinting his cheeks.

If you weren’t so annoyed, you would’ve found his reaction cute.

“I,” He started, clearly fumbling, “Well,”

Deciding that you had enough of watching him stumble over his words, you rolled your eyes once more, moving away from him and back to where you placed your dishes. However, before you could get too far, you felt a hand encompass yours, tying you to your spot.

Whipping your head around, you saw Todoroki look at you with a new emotion that you’d never seen on him before.

Closing the gap between the two of you, he spoke up, “I don’t hate you,”

“Todo—“

“I don’t mean to ignore you, but every time that you’re next to me, I feel my heart speed up, and I start getting all warm,” He started, effectively shutting you up, “Whenever I hear you laugh or even just talking about what you did last night I find myself being unable to speak. I can’t get you out of my mind and every time I try to say something to you, it ends up being cut off because I’m afraid that I’ll say something stupid. I leave the room whenever you come in because I don’t know what I’d do, and I feel nervous, and I don’t like it.”

Pressing your hand against his chest, you could feel his heart rate speeding up, and you felt your eyebrows furrow together.

“Even standing this close to you makes me nervous, but I knew that I wanted to get closer to you, so I signed up for kitchen duty when I saw your name on the sign in sheet,”

“So,” He said, looking at you with such an earnest look that you had to focus on something other than his eyes, “Do you believe me now when I said I don’t hate you?”

Feeling your cheeks begin to heat up, you ripped your hand away from his grasp, turning around and walking in a straight line, not having a plan of action. After a few steps, you turned around, noticing the small look of disappointment on Todoroki’s face. Biting your lip, you debated a few options in your head, before ultimately deciding on something.

Calling out his name, you pointed towards the dining room, “You said you wanted to get closer to me? Then c’mon, hurry up and bring the dishes over here and help me set up,” You looked away from him, rubbing your hands together, “We can talk about that stupid heroes law homework,”

Though you didn’t see it, you could tell that his mood had picked up, as he seemed to have a new burst of energy, moving over to you quickly.

As the night began to set in, and the two of you quietly talked, you realized that, perhaps, you didn’t hate Todoroki Shouto as much as you thought you did.
