What art work?
(this is a korosensei x Wolf! Teacher! reader)
(3rd p.o.v)
‘Shoot, I’m late! Oh no, oh no!’ you screamed to yourself as you sprinted across the forest surrounding the old campus. As you gunned pass the beehive, snakes, boulders, through the bridge and past the river. You almost broke down the door to the entrance of the campus, before running down the halls, almost smacking into Korosensei, and to the ladies bathroom. Slamming the door shut, you let out a sigh of relief. Happy to have made it on time.
~RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGN~
The bell rang indicating the start of Homeroom, and class to get to their seats, and wait for attendance hail to begin. As you like to call it. Seeing as there would be a literal hail of anti-sensei BB’s sprayed everywhere.
(Y/n’s p.o.v)
I sigh as I lowered my head to get the adrenalin to subside. Once I was calm, I stood upright and fixed my bag. Walking over to the mirrors, I pulled out my brush, handkerchief, baby wipes, and my tinted lip balm. Laying everything out I got to work on fixing my appearance.
(Time skip)
My ears twitched a bit as I brushed out the fuffed or messy fur-hair. Doing the same to my tail. I was finally finished fixing and grooming. Letting out a hum of satisfaction, I placed everything back and walked out of the bathroom. Bag in hand I walked past the few vacant rooms used for storage on anything non-P.E. Walking past the 3-E classroom, I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the discussion.
First period:
Subjects:
Math
And Home etiquette
As I listened, I couldn’t help but grin at the equations on the mathematics questions. “Now everyone, can someone tell me the expanded solution of (-52) + 36 - (255) + -360?” Asked Korosensei. ‘PEMDAS in integers? These kids are lucky’ I thought as I opened the door, walking in. Everyone grinned at my arrival already knowing what was happening, for I always made daily appearances to help the kids out on questions in the subjects randomly. Korosensei sweat dropped as his permanent smile faltered a bit before widening. “The expanded form of the first equation is:
Negative 50 as tens, and 2 as it’s ones. Minus positive 30 as tens, and 6 as ones. The answer however is:
-50 + 30 = -20, 2 + 6 = 8 the reason it is subtracted instead of them being added is because of it’s different sign. Now we just take the sign of the biggest digit which is -52 and sum that u to the answer. Which is -12. The reason it is -12 is that if you try adding negatives t positives the equation sign in the middle will become its opposite. And the opposite of addiction is subtraction.”
I spoke whilst writing on the blackboard with a white chalk stick, smirking as I looked towards the class, then towards Korosensei who blushed. The poor octopus sweat dropped even more as he fidgets a bit. ‘Cute’ I thought before turning to the blackboard again and resuming my answer. “Now the expanded form of 255 - (-360) is:
Positive 200 as its hundreds, 50 as it’s tens, and 5 as its ones. Then negative 300 as hundreds, and 60 as tens. The solution would look like:
200 + (-300) = -100, 50 - (-60) = 110 and then there’s the only ones which is the 5. Simply add them together with the same quirks as before and you will get 15. The reason it is 15 is that the biggest digit is 110 which is a positive number. So now all you have to do is the last thing in the question.
(-12) - 15 = -27. Okay, now the reason it isn’t positive is that we can’t subtract a number smaller than it’s subtrahend. You kids get me?” I spoke with a sigh then turned to the class.
The Kids all smiled as they took down notes, even Terasaka grinned. Everyone looked up at the same time and beamed at me “Hai. Arigato L/n-sensei!” they all thanked me as I chuckled. Korosensei was having a fit as he complained about how come they understood my teaching a lot better even though he did the same thing. A gentle smile graced my lips as I turned swiftly, a little too fast for Korosensei to react on time as I pulled out an anti-sensei knife from my sleeve. Korosensei reacted with panic as he used his Mach 20 speed to dodge my attack. Although I wasn’t able to cut a few tentacles I was able to create a deep gash. Putting the rubber knife back I turned to the class and smiled “Welp that’s it for me. I’m off, have fun min’na!” I said waving to them. Everyone bed me goodbye as Korosensei stood there with bewilderment on his face before snapping back to his normal dorky and cheerful self. “Sayonara N/n-san!” The octopus bid as his smile widened again, the color of his body turned a light warm pink as a light visible blush dusted on his squishy cheeks. He regenerated as he waved one of his hand-tentacles in my direction. Letting out a light chuckle I waved to him as well before opening the door and stepping out. Closing the door, I let out a happy sigh. I checked the clock on the wall of the campus just outside the classroom “9:30 am huh?” I pondered as I walked off to the teacher’s lounge. Opening the door I smiled and greeted my other colleagues “Ohayōgozaimasu Karasuma-sensei, Irina-sensei” I spoke with a slight head bow. Karasuma looked up from his laptop’s screen “Ohayō L/n-desu” He greeted before looking down at his work again and continuing with typing on the keyboard. Irina, however, perked up and looked at me in my direction, grinning she puts down her table, got up, and ran over to me. Engulfing me in a big hug. “Ohayōgozaimasu L/n-san! Oh, it’s so good to see you again. I sure do hope your feeling well” She said letting go, her grin widening. I let out a halfhearted laugh. “Same to ‘Vic-san!” she smiled before going back to her desk. I went to my desk, which was in front of Korosensei’s desk but to the left of Karasuma’s desk. Sitting down, I plopped my backpack on my lap. Opening the big zipper I pulled out my laptop. Placing it gently on the desk. I pulled out my attachable mouse and a mouse pad. Plugging in and laying the pad flat on my desk. I went ahead and prepared things that I wasn’t able to finish, whilst turning on my laptop. While waiting for my laptop to finish loading I pulled out my checklist and checked my to-do list.
“To-do list:
Grab some mochi for everyone (check)
Grade and check papers (not done)
Give Korosensei the artwork-”
I paused my murmuring as I sweat dropped at the sudden silence ‘I was mumbling again- oh no-’. The taps of fingers on a laptop were gone, nor was Irina’s complaining and nails tapping on the screen of her tablet audible. Just silence. “What artwork Y/n-san?” Karasuma’s voice interrupted the eerie silence. I gulped “Uhm something I made over the 2 days of the week I was gone. “N-nande Karasuma-san?” I sweat dropped as silence was made again. ‘Kuso ̄ ‘ I cursed to myself.
What will I do or even say?
Show the artwork?
Stutter aimlessly?

1831 Thurs. 20 January
7 10/..
12 20/..
L
F46º at 7 10/.., soft damp morning with a little rain while I was out - out at 8 10/.. to the Muette gate Boulevard de Beauséjour and back at 10 10/.. - dressed - 1 5/.. hour reading Le Temps - breakfast in 25 minutes - 15 11 35/.. had my hair done - had 1/2 hour's nap - Letter from Mariana (Leamington) about 12 1/2 - at my desk at one - read my letter - dated 1/2 down the 2nd page from Warren's hotel London 3 pages and the ends and under the seal -
Mention of the death of Mr. John Charles of Newton Kyme - neither of the executors can act with her Mr. Charles (John late the banker) residing out of the kingdom and writes Mrs. Charles to Mariana ‘Mr. Raper you know from his conduct is banished [from] the kingdom’ Death of your old and faithful housekeeper Mrs. Tatham - William Milne not well - inquired after the school recommissioned by Miss MacLean (my poor dear Sibella) Miss Clomels, Yorkgate, much pleased with it - expense till the age of 14 or 15 £100 a year and Mariana will make a sacrifice to send her niece there - of course as I ought to know I have not much to expect from her in the money way
Mr. Willoughby Crewe writes her that the people began to threaten in Cheshire - she had thought much of what I told her about returning to England - I shall most likely be at 'home in July which perhaps is the best place for us to be together in' such a chance as Scarbro' 2 years ago is not to be expected -
“If your aunt's health will admit of a return to England possibly she might sit down comfortably at Shibden - certainly such an arrangement would set you more at liberty than any other, and now that you are in such good luck as to society, and stumbling on eligible companions for seeing all you may desire of other countries, I would certainly have you follow it up - you will not be less inclined to go again, should opportunity offer, and if it should not, it will always be an advantage to both that even one has seen the world"
She thinks 'somehow' the continent will not be long open to us - will 'count the time like a school girl' to July - voila tout on this subject well it is all very well I must make my plans and then tell her them never expecting her advice to help them much - Lady, I mean Mme. de Polignac was a Parkinson daughter says Mariana of the last sister of the present Lord Rancliffe - niece to the Lady of Mrs. Salmon's brother Captain Barrow - from 1 3/4 to 4 25/.. wrote 3 pages and the ends, long, and under the seal, all very small and close to Mariana from 4 1/2 to 6 wrote page 4, and the ends and crossed page 1 and finished my letter to Mrs. William Priestly begun Monday the 10th instant (vide lines 1 and 8 of page 16)
Dinner at 6 10/.. - read the paper - came to my room at 7 1/2 - _twenty five minutes preparing napkin for my cousin came gently between one and two this afternoon - have wrote to Mariana, surprised to find her in London -
"It is impossible ever to count upon anything like fixity in their case, quite as much so as in my own - as to myself, nothing is more settled than when I wrote last - no communication has as yet passed on the subject of returning, between my father and me - but you shall know all as soon as you can - I have no reason, at present, to think my aunt will not be able to bear the journey; tho' it is probably enough, if she does not go next summer, she may never go at all - However, perhaps the chances are, we shall make the attempt - as for my traveling schemes, I see your uncertainty, but I do talk, and must talk of them, because I cannot calculate upon being able to remain comfortably in England - even you yourself, weighing all things justly on the balance, will not, I think, be for my staying longer than necessary beyond the time where we have been as much together as circumstances will permit - my aunt may do very well at Shibden - rien à dire contre - quant à moi, c'est une autre paire de manches - I do not expect the chance of Scarbro' encore, and only ask for 3 weeks, because I think you would have a right to claim the time certain - But we shall see by and by comment tout cela doit d'arranger - as for my 3 possible, just possible traveling companions, I do not count upon any one of them; and all would be very temporary - Lady S- [Stuart] (Gordon) may perhaps be persuaded to go to Spain - Miss Mackenzie is still, I believe, at, or not far from Naples and Miss Pickford is I know not where - and perhaps, after all, [your wid[?]] is as likely as anybody - je n'en sais rien - sufficient till the day etc. etc. and I shall not pother myself by attempting to fin[al] anything till the time comes - I shall be delighted and satisfied to see you, and this will be enough for me -
Poor dear Sibbella! I have lost the ostensible and now, I find, the real object I cared to wait for here; and, I confess, I have felt more than usually unsettled since my last return - I can understand the regret for [totality] - It is a serious thing, more serious than we sometimes fancy, to lose anyone to whom we have been long accustomed - I refuse going anywhere in an evening, for I am not in a humor for it and morning visits I make as seldom as I can - Mrs. Hamilton promised to introduce me to Lady Granville; but she has not yet been called upon for the fulfillment of her promise; and I am in no hurry - now that my mind is almost made up to be off from here in the summer, I am indifferent about things that would otherwise have interested me much - nous verrons - I am not much above concert-pitch; and now that I have done enough of at my accounts for the present (expense of last year not much above thirteen-hundred) I am seriously meditating a return to my little apartment, and turning back to something more mental than the commonplace of rue Godot - By the way, 13 hundreds are more than I wish to spend just now; but, in the status quo, I am quite sure I cannot make less do - economy goes for something in my not visiting this winter, tho' I am not sorry to have this excuse to make to myself"
Mention Kinnersy having changed 5/. for transmitting the money - 'the accounts I have from Briggs are much better than I expected - all my rents were paid' - remember hearing 'my poor dear friend speak of Miss Clomel's (Yorkgate, London) school'. She at one time wished to have her nieces there - 'It is a nice situation, from all I remember about it, a very likely one to suit their people' ask the age of 'Mariana Lajeune' - 'I am glad you think her such a nice girl, and shall be anxious to hear what you determine about her - at her age, she certainly has no time to lose' - ask after Steph - fear she can expect no great advice from that quarter - will inquire about Mme Thomas rue des filles St. Thomas no. 23 Mde des modes - mention have several 2 or 3 times met a lady I should have fancied Mrs. John Raper had I not beheld her to be at St. Bues in Cumberland. Beg Mariana not to forget her French and if she sends little Mariana to Miss Clomel to 'beg that this language may be particularly attended to' - all the rest of my letter chit-chat of no consequence
my letter to Mrs. W. Priestly - chit chat - had received her letter on my return home 'for which I should have made a point of thanking you immediately, had my mind been more at ease' - she would see by the papers the death of my poor friend Miss MacLean 'for the nearness of which I was strangely unprepared - Deceived to the last, she herself was not aware of the real state she was in, till the last 3 or 4 days; and the 1st account that met me on my return was that of her death' - Congratulation on the Sutherlands being returned to Crownest -
'I can easily understand and join in their sentiments on this subject - I am accustomed to give you credit in matters of both of feeling and of judgement; and it is not in this instance that I should be inclined to dissent, in spite of the opinions, the wishes, or the interests of others’
say 'I had a very interesting tour last summer - a week on the Spanish side of the mountains and at the 1st Spanish town found the contrast between the French and Spaniards as striking as that between the French and English on first landing at Calais - from Narbonne to near Marseilles disappointed with the shores of the Mediterrtanian but M- Toulon and Hières made us regret that our arrangements did not allow of our going farther' -
I find my aunt surprisingly well - she had behaved admirably during the revolution, having been much calm and composed than many younger and stronger people - she says she never felt alarmed but once, and that only for a little while when Marmont threatened to blow up the whole street if they did not instantly cease making the barricade, which, however, was completed in the night - we had no fear during the trial of the ex ministers - 100,000 men under arms - sense enough' -
All as quiet here now as the P-s [Priestleys] themselves can be at Lightcliffe - mention Laffitte’s being ruined by the revolution - conclude with
‘I know your time is a thousand (crossing on the 1st page) times better employed than in writing to me, and therefore and therefore only I do not expect to hear from you very soon - If you wait 6 or 7 months, perhaps you may have an opportunity of answering in person - Do not name this to any one but Mr. Priestley because our plans are at this moment not fixed, and therefore not mentioned even to our friends at Shibden - I am too much accustomed to trust to your discretion to doubt it in any case - you may see us both - it depends this time as I told you it did 2 years ago, on my father - I fancy you can read my crossing without much difficulty - I did not wish to write the last sentence where Mrs. Bagnold could read it too easily - my aunt’s kind regards to yourself (had before joined in mine to Mr. Priestley) - and my own, too, and believe me, my dear Mrs. Priestley, affectionately and very truly yours A L- Anne Lister’
dated ‘Friday 21 January 1831’ - from 7 1/2 to 9 1/4 (coffee at 9 20/.. and came to my room at 10 55/..) and from 11 to 11 1/4 wrote all but the first 22 lines of today - did not talk much to my aunt tonight - read her what M- [Mariana] wrote on the subject of our going to Shibden , and said, I took it, that she did not particularly advise but said nothing at all against it - spoke as if hesitating on the subject - but my aunt herself says she thinks it best on all accounts to go - Soft damp disagreeable day - a little rain in the morning while I was out - and gentle rain from about 2 p.m. for a considerable time - F48º now at 11 20/.. p.m. and damp, wet night - raining a little - rainy night -

Lieut.-General A.W. Currie, Corps Commander, taking the salute. Maj.-Gen. H.E. Burstall, Commander of the Division, and the Divisional Staff being immediately in the rear of Lieut.-Gen. Currie on the reviewing stand. Upon the arrival of the Battalion in Hennef, 13:30 Hours, Batt’n. Hdqr’s was located in the office of a manufacturing establishment on Frankfurter Strasse, and Hdqr’s officers were billeted in a large Chateau nearby. The Men of “A”, “C” and “d” and Hdqr’s Companies were assigned to billets they were to occupy during their stay in the area. These billets being in private homes of the civilian population. “D” Company proceeded without delay to the village of Happershass, where they were to be on duty as Outpost Company. 3 O.R’s from lave. Appendix No. 10. HENNEF 6 G 90.80 Germany 2-L 14 On this second day of the stay of the Battalion in this are the Officers and men rested in their billets, recovering in a measure from the hardships of the march. Conforming with Army Orders issued to the Burgomeister and from him to the population in general, many civilians have reported to Batt’n. Hdqr’s. for the necessary Identification Passes for use in the local area. These passes being a description of the holder and having further, his or her photograph attached thereto. The Schloss is a huge and very fine specimen of Architectural Art of an earlier period, and is built entirely of stone. Its is surrounded by a beautiful park. When one has seen the Castle and Grounds he is immediately struck with the thought that it is emblematic of the utmost in luxury and convenience. The Batt’n. Headquarters Officers have appropriated the entire Castle and appurtenances for their quarters, having installed themselves in the Sleeping Chambers and using the Breakfast Rooms, Dining Rooms, Drawing Rooms, Billiard Rooms, etc. at their will. The Castle maintains a large staff of servants and consequently the order of the house is of the finest and our Officers are living, as is their due, in every luxury. In a large forest in the rear of the Castle Grounds Dear [sic] and small game abound and the Officers of the Battalion secure a great measure of enjoyment from their hunting and shooting expeditions. 24 The Battalion continued training as per Syllabi attached. 4 O.R’s on leave and 2 O.R’s returned. Appendix No. 20. 25 “‘A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL’. Christmas Day dawned bright and clear, with just a touch of snow upon the ground, which gave the vicinity a very “Christmas-like” appearance.
The members of the Battalion were in excellent spirit and thoroughly prepared for anything the day might bring forth. The Officers of the Battalion made every preparation for a fine Christmas Dinner and the men were awaiting it with very keen anticipation. At the appointed hour the tables in the different Company mess-rooms, especially selected for the day, were teeming with good things to eat, and they assuredly presented a most pleasant sight.
“A” Company Mess-room was located in a large hall in the Northern section of the town. “C” Company enjoyed its dinner in a very picturesque theatre in the centre of the town, while “D” Company had theirs in one of the schools the town affords. “B” Company being on duty as Outpost Company, had arranged to have dinner in one of the schools in the village of Brohl.
Each of the mess-rooms was decorated in a most pleasant and “Christmas-like” style and tended to heighten the then very high spirit of the men. The tables were loaded with Apples, Oranges, Nuts, Ginger-ale, Cakes, etc. and from the serving tables in the rear came the most appetizing odours of Turkey, meats, vegetables, Christmas Plum Pudding and other items to be served as the dinner progressed.
The men took their places at the tables in a very business-like manner, the different platoons being kept together, and then began what was their first Christmas dinner and also, in all probability their last one in German Territory.
Lt.-Col. L.E. Jones and ad Staff Officers and the Officers of the different Companies were in attendance at each of the dinners of the Companies and during the progress of the dinner Lt.-Col. Jones made a short [entered in pencil] speech of good will, wishing the members of the Battalion a “Very Merry Christmas” and every prosperity for the coming year, which as he remarked would be the one year that would never be forgotten by any one present or by the world in its entirety, being the Anniversary year of the Ending of the War. He again complimented the members of the Battalion upon their share of the conflict and expressed himself as being more than pleased with their conduct in the past and present.
At the close of his address the men express their appreciation of his remarks by rising and giving him three of the most hearty cheers and a “Tiger”.
At the close of the dinner the faces of the men showed, very glowingly, their entire satisfaction. Altogether the occasion was carried off in an excellent manner and it will be one that will never be forgotten by any of the members of this battalion.

CANTLON'S CORNER: HOCKEY NEWS AND NOTES OFF SEASON Volume 10
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - After a vote by its membership, the NHLPA has approved the NHL's decision to move to a 24-team playoff format to bring to a conclusion the 2019-20 NHL season. With that announcement coming earlier this week, it capped off a seven-day period of a great deal of hockey activity. PLAYER TRANSACTIONS Some AHL players have confirmed their decision to head to Europe while several others are patiently awaiting the NHL's final decision about their season. Ex-Pack Brian Gibbons (Salisbury Prep) is said to be close to signing a deal with HC Lausanne (Switzerland-LNA) after spending a part of this past season with the Charlotte Checkers and 50 games with the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL). Gerry Fitzgerald of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms has signed with Vasterviks IK (Sweden-SHL). He joins Vile Saarijarvi, who split the year with the Tucson Roadrunners and the Grand Rapids Griffins. He heads back to Finland to play for Lukko Rauma (Finland-FEL) making 17 players in total who have moved and 13 of 31 AHL teams who have lost players. In the college ranks, Cam Wright of Stonehill College (NE-10) signs with Amals SK (Sweden Division-2). The signing makes 29 college players signing in Europe and a total of 156 college players to sign pro deals in North America and Europe combined. Jeff Kopek of Gunnery Prep (Washington, CT) commits to Utica College (UCHC). COLLEGE HOCKEY The WCHA's University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers announced late on Friday that effective immediately the school was canceling their Division I hockey program. The program has been a Division I team for 20 years and have had an active varsity program in Division I and II, plus an ACHA club team for 31 years. It was the only program in the Southern portion of the US for years until Arizona State launched a Division I independent program four years ago. The team was coming off a horrible season, 2-26-6, the worst in the nation and in the program’s history. In fact, over the last nine years, the program has struggled to amass a record of 54-230-22 over that time span. The hockey program started in 1979 and won ACHA National Club titles in a three-peat from 1982, 1983, and in 1984. They won two Division II national titles in 1996 and 1998. From 1986-1999 the Chargers bounced between Division I (originally in the NAIA conference) and Division II, but after the NCAA eliminated Division II level hockey, they made it to the top tier again. Despite the poor on-ice performance and terrible gate receipts, averaging just 1,419 last season (47th among 60 Division I teams), they also had the second-worst capacity of attendance at a meager 21.5%. Even though the school knew the numbers issue, they said last year they were planning to build a new on-campus arena taking them from their home rink, the Von Braun Center, which is also the home of the SPHL Huntsville Havoc. The most famous graduate of UA-H was ex-Hartford Wolf Pack goalie, Cam Talbot, who's now playing for the Edmonton Oilers. The first player to make it to the NHL from their program was forward, Jared Ross. of the Philadelphia Flyers, a few years before Talbot did. Among the other notable alumni are, Jay Woodcroft, the current head coach of the Bakersfield Condors (AHL), former Bridgeport Sound Tiger goalie, Scott Munro, who is now a goalie coach at Trinity College (NESCAC), and Dennis Skapski, the father to former Wolf Pack goalie, Mackenzie Skapski. The WCHA conference was set to lose seven schools after the 2020-21 season to form the new CCHA conference. The league is now down to eight teams. The last Division I program to exit was Wayne State in 2008. As UA-H leaves, Long Island University Sharks announced they were entering D1 hockey and becoming the 61st NCAA program and would play this comings season as an Independent. Like everything else, COVID-19 has infected the expected expansion of Division I hockey over the next two years. The University of Illinois was scheduled to make an announcement in March that they were going DI and going to the Big 10 conference. The WCHA was getting closer to announcing it will become the first true Western US states Division I college hockey conference. Sadly, this may not be the only University to cut back on their D1 hockey program. There may be many other program cuts as two WCHA schools in Alaska are likely to merge at some point this summer as a cost-saving measure. Some media reports state several Division I teams, particularly at state schools, and due to expected budgetary and health concerns are dropping non-conference games involving flying across the country in close quarters. UCONN, who's was looking to make an announcement next week in releasing their complete schedule according to Hockey SID Bill Peterson is still on schedule as planned. The season including its only major travel to a Christmas tournament in Milwaukee to be hosted by the University of Wisconsin. In addition to the host U-of-W, also participating in the tourney is UCONN, Arizona State, and Clarkson University. The hope is that safety will be less of a concern as far as travel by late December and the New Year. The Huskies are scheduled to host the Ohio State Buckeyes (Big 10) and the Arizona State Sun Devils (NCAA Division I Independent) at the XL Center and open the season at home against the Sacred Heart University Pioneers (AHA) in October. PRO HOCKEY While the AHL has ended the 2019-20 season and the NHL is closer to reopening in a 24 team playoff format with details still being worked on. Among the major issues is travel both to-and-from the United States and Canada as the border remains closed by mutual consent until June 21st. There could, however, be an exception that would apply to hockey players. The National Hockey League and NHL Players’ Association do not believe Tuesday’s extension, according to published reports, will alter their plans as they continue to work toward resuming the 2019-20 season this summer. The optimism comes from the belief that the border only remains closed for “non-essential travel,” which is defined as tourism, recreation, and entertainment. It affects the NHL and the AHL who are now trying to plan the start of the 2020-21 season. The NHL has seven Canadian franchises, while the AHL has three. Healthy people may continue to cross the border for “non-discretionary” reasons – for work and employment purposes - and NHL players and team personnel would be classified into that category according to two pro hockey sources familiar with the issue. Most non-Canadian players on Canadian NHL clubs hold a work permit, which would qualify them as temporary workers and allow them to cross the border during the pandemic for a limited period of time as specified under the border closure guidelines. A similar work visa exists for Canadian players who play for US-based teams and in the mutual consent decree by each government would naturally apply to Canadians here. Players from Europe still have a serious hurdle to clear. One of the few worldwide universal restrictions in this pandemic has been flying to another country requiring a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Approximately 17 percent of current NHL players are from Europe, according to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. He disclosed in an interview on Monday that these players are currently enduring the COVID-19 pandemic in various countries in Europe scattered throughout the continent. The AHL has a significant European player population. Then there's the Canadian government's provincial pandemic guidelines which further hamper plans and adds another layer of bureaucracy to overcome. Alberta and Quebec both have canceled all inside and outside large public gatherings until September 1st. Alberta announced another set of requirements. In addition to being quarantined for 14-days, a quarantine plan must be presented to public officials for review. For the NHL it could scuttle plans to use Edmonton as one of its NHL hub cities for its Stanley Cup playoffs as currently being designed. The AHL and NHL both season was paused their seasons on March 12th. The AHL season was formally canceled on May 11th. The Wolf Pack 2020-21 schedule has only one game date set, the home opener is scheduled for October 9th and that is now not set in stone. The start of the 2020-21 season will most certaintly not begin in October. Read HERE in Thursday’s Providence Journal-Bulletin how if things were not tough enough, even the mere public mention of a facility being closed the rest of the year creates serious issues for the AHL. AHL AWARDS The American Hockey League announced Friday that Karl Taylor of the Milwaukee Admirals is the winner of the Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding coach for the 2019-20 season. Under Taylor’s guidance, the Admirals finished with the best record in their 19 seasons of play in the American Hockey League in 2019-20, going 41-14-5-3 (90 points, .714) and capturing the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as regular-season champions. Milwaukee allowed a league-low 2.24 goals per game and ranked seventh in scoring (3.35) – the third-highest goals-per-game differential (+1.11) in the AHL in the last decade – and established a team record with a 13-game winning streak from November 2nd to December 1st. Milwaukee’s special teams were outstanding in 2019-20 as well. They ranked second in the league on the power play (25.2 percent) and sixth in penalty killing (85.5 percent). Taylor, who coached the Central Division team at the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic, has sent nine of his Admirals players to the National Hockey League to compete with the Nashville Predators this season. The Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award winner was selected and awarded to San Jose Barracuda, John McCarthy, on Thursday. The award recognizes an AHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship, determination, and dedication to hockey. The captain of the Barracuda since 2016, after 18 games with four goals, McCarthy ended a distinguished 11-year pro career suddenly in December after suffering an ischemic stroke due to a previously undetected hole in his heart. Following swift attention from the team’s medical staff and physicians at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center, McCarthy made a complete recovery and joined the Barracuda coaching staff as an assistant on Dec. 27, allowing him to continue mentoring the San Jose Sharks’ top prospects. McCarthy, 33, played 577 games in the American Hockey League – all but 25 of them (Chicago Wolves) were with the Sharks’ affiliates in San Jose (2015-19) and in Worcester (2009-15) before he left with the team when the Pacific Division was created in 2015. He totaled 130 goals and 167 assists for 297 points in the AHL and is the Barracuda’s all-time leader in games played (275), goals (62), assists (76) and points (138). McCarthy notched four goals in 18 contests with San Jose in 2019-20. Originally drafted by the Sharks in 2006, McCarthy also had three goals and three assists in 88 career NHL games with San Jose. He was a member of the United States Olympic men’s hockey team in 2018 and co-captained Boston University to an NCAA championship in 2009. Six players were named to the American Hockey League All-Rookie Team on Tuesday. The All-Rookie team were Boston Bruins' forward prospect, Jack Studnicka (Providence), and forwards Josh Norris, and Alex Fomenton (Belleville Senators). Also given the honor were defensemen prospects, Brogan Rafferty of the Vancouver Canucks (Utica Comets), and ex-Wolf Pack Joey Keane of the Carolina Hurricanes (Charlotte) who was traded for Julien Gauthier in February, and Montreal Canadiens goalie prospect, Cayden Primeau (Laval Rocket), the son of former Hartford Whaler, Keith Primeau. The American Hockey League announced the 2019-20 AHL First, and Second All-Star Teams, as voted by AHL coaches, players, and media in each of the league’s 31 member cities. Two former Quinnipiac University Bobcats, one on the first team (Sam Anas of the Iowa Wild) and the other on the second team, (Brogan Rafferty of Utica). 2019-20 AHL First All-Star Team G – Kaapo Kahkonen, Iowa Wild (34 GP, 25-6-3, 2.07 GAA, .927 save percentage, 7 SO) D – Jake Bean, Charlotte Checkers (59 GP, 10 G,38 A 48 TP 3 PPG and 18 PPA) D – Brennan Menell, Iowa Wild (57 GP, 5 G 42A 47 TP, plus 8, 3 PPG and 23 PPA) LW – Reid Boucher, Utica Comets (53 GP, 34 G, 33 A, 67 TP, plus 8, 9 PPG and 7 GWG) C – Josh Norris, Belleville Senators (56 GP, 31 G,30 A, 61 TP, plus 9, 10 PPG and 4 GWG) RW – Sam Anas, Iowa Wild (63 GP, 20 G, 50 A, 70 TP, 7 PPG, and 35 PPA) 2019-20 AHL Second All-Star Team G – Connor Ingram, Milwaukee Admirals (33 GP, 21-5-5, 1.92 GAA, .933 save percentage, 2 SO) D – Jacob MacDonald, Colorado Eagles (56 GP, 16 G, 26 A, 42 TP, plus 7, 7 PPG and 14 PPA) D – Brogan Rafferty, Utica Comets (57 GP, 7 G, 38 A, 45 TP, plus 17, 3 PPG and 17 PPA) LW – Gerry Mayhew, Iowa Wild (49 GP, 39 G,22 A, 61 TP, plus 16, 13 PPG and 10 GWG) C – Alex Barre-Boulet, Syracuse Crunch (60 GP, 27 G, 29 A, 56 TP, plus 2, 9 PPG and 3 GWG) RW – Drake Batherson, Belleville Senators (44 GP, 16 G, 38 A 54 TP, plus 14, 3 PPG and 2 GWG) Each All-Star Team member will receive a custom-designed crystal award in recognition of his selection to the 2019-20 AHL First and Second All-Star Teams. HOCKEY NEWS Jim Rutherford, who has been the General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins since June of 2014, and who was also a former Whalers GM and a New Haven Nighthawk, and who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last year, now has an award named after him. The OHL unveiled the Jim Rutherford Trophy that will go to the OHL Goaltender of the Year. The first recipient was Nico Daws of the Guelph Storm. Remember potential Whalers future star, Hnat Domenichelli? He is the GM of HC Lugano (Switzerland-LNA). His son, Leonardo, plays for the HC Lugano U-15 team. Amanda Boulier (Watertown/Westminster Prep/Yale University) signed a deal to play for another year with the NWHL Minnesota Whitecaps (her third) and was named head coach of Duluth Marshall HS (MNPUB) varsity girl’s program. She was an assistant coach last season and started her pro career with the Connecticut Whale. Among her teammates is Emma Stauber, the niece of former Wolf Pack and Nighthawk goalie, Robb Stauber. She also coaches a Minnesota high school hockey program Proctor/Hermantown. Her uncle, Dan Stauber, coaches the boy's team. Read the full article

Liquor Tasting
Summary: Mari, being the awesome friend that she was, takes it upon herself to welcome Dia into adulthood in the most fun way possible. The Kurosawa her is not amused but the blonde makes an excellent argument that has her thinking twice.
Links: AO3 and ff.net
Come meet me in my father's office. Alone. I'll be waiting~
Dia looked at the message and read it again. What could Mari want this time? And why did she have to be alone? And when the hell did that girl leave the room anyway?
All members of Aqours were gathered together to celebrate the New Year. Though all of them decided to celebrate New Year's eve with their respective families, they all agreed to have a sleepover the following day. It was the first and probably last time in a while that they can be together like this with the 3rd years graduating and Mari and Kanan deciding to go overseas to pursue their own dreams.
Deciding to get it over with, the eldest Kurosawa carefully moved from her place on the couch, making sure not to wake her younger sister with her movements. She expertly navigated her way around the other sleeping members to get to the door. They were all gathered in Mari's entertainment room watching a marathon of u's concert DVDs. She was the only one left awake after the 4th live. She didn't even know how the others were able to even feel sleepy while watching the best girls in the world sing and dance. Then again, it was the 2nd day in a row that they stayed up late and most of them probably didn't get enough sleep during the day.
Dia had been to the Ohara Hotel too many times to count to know where the different rooms were. She remembered quite well where her set destination was since it was a place she, Kanan and Mari avoided like a plague in their youth. Mari's father was a nice man but they didn't dare disturb the man when he was there. Even with their young minds, they could understand that nothing good happened in that room since not a single person who entered left with a happy expression.
She could feel a similar feeling akin to what she felt in her childhood but there was no way she would be scared of Mari. Rather, she was afraid of what the girl had in plan. With Mari, it could literally be anything.
"Ciao bella~ I've been waiting for you." The brunette sighed at the greeting of mixed Italian and English much like the one who spoke the words as she entered the room. She felt a pair of arms wrap around her, the scent of coffee and expensive perfume waffling in to her nose.
"Mari-san…." she starts with a threatening tone, though made no move to detach the blonde from her. "to what purpose did you call me here for?"
"Oh Dia~ why do you have to be so formal? We're not in school and no one else is here. Let loose a bit." Mari finally lets go of Dia and walks over to one of the cabinets inside the room. "Today is your birthday and you're finally 18. So this calls for a very special celebration that only us adults can do." She looks back at her childhood friend and sends her a sly grin capped off with flirtatious wink.
"W-What are.. Are you talking about Mari-san?" Dia's face was now as red as her sister's hair. "We can't do that! Not… not that don't want to and you're very attractive but… but we're friends, best friends even and… and I don't want to ruin that with a one… one night…"
Hotel heiress was confused at first, having a hard time understanding though her friend's ramblings and stuttering. She almost laughed her head off when she did finally get what Dia was trying to say.
"No~ No Dia. That's not what I had in mind at all. Though I wouldn't mind doing that as well." Mari says with another wink. "This is my surprise."
She turned back and opened the cabinet before her with as much dramatics as she did when she opened the curtains when announce that she was Uranohoshi's new director.
"This is my father's collection but he gave me full access to it when I turned 18. And today, I'm sharing it with you. So what do you say Dia? Would like to sit down a have a drink with the 'very attractive' Ohara Mari?"
Her invitation was met with silence.
"Uhm Hello? Dia? Earth to Dia? Can you hear me?"
"Mari-san…"
"Yes?"
"You mean to say… you asked me to come here to humiliate me and get me drunk?"
"Well… humiliate you was not part of the plan. And I really wouldn't call it humiliating… more of entertaining. Though I guess the humiliating part would be there but it would probably be after we get drunk, not before. And we'll probably not remember it in the morning anyway."
"Mari-san…"
"Yes Dia, ready to get hammered?"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!"
"Aww…. You're such a Debbie downer. Oh wait! You're a Dia downer. I should write this down."
"MARI-SAN!"
"You keep on yelling my name like that and people would start thinking that we're doing something… indecent."
"MARI-" Dia let out a cough when she realized she would fuel the blonde's teasing even more. "Anyway, I would not be participating in any illegal activities with you."
"Hate to break it to you Dia… but despite your belief, having fun is totally legal."
"Mari-san, are you aware of the legal drinking age in Japan?"
"18! I mean it's the same in every country right?"
Dia brings her phone out and taps away. A minute later she shows the screen to Mari.
"20?! But that too far away. Let's drink now. Nobody would know anyway."
"As I've said before, I would not be participating in any illegal activities. Besides, I don't understand the charm of drinking or getting drunk. From what I've seen and read, you'll feel awful in the morning and the taste is not even good." She was able to consume small amount of sake and wines in social gatherings her parents have set or brought her with. She was not a fan.
"But Dia, you're going to Tokyo for college! It's like a requirement in college to go to parties and get drunk. You're going to miss half of your life if you don't go."
"I'll live."
Dia was stubborn but Mari could match her well with this regards and she knew the latter would not give up so easily.
"But Dia, you're going to Tokyo University right? THE Tokyo University. The same one where most of u's went, including your idol, Ayase Eli."
Uh oh….
Mari did not just use the "Ayase Eli" card.
She can't let her guard down.
"W-well… yes. But she already graduated years ago."
"But her sister, Ayase Alisa, still goes there right?"
Damn you Mari!
The blonde probably knew she hit a nerve and continued with her attack.
"What if… you meet Ayase Alisa? You would want to be friends right? What if she invites you to a party with lots of alcohol? You would have to drink to impress her else you wouldn't be able get close enough to her to meet her sister. But if were you're first time drinking… you would definitely not last and embarrass yourself…. Your chances of meeting Eli will be-"
"Fine! FINE! You win. I'll drink with you."
"Yay!" Mari rushed towards her childhood friend and dragged her towards the cabinet not risking having her change her mind. "So what were would you like to start? Papa has a wide range liquor. Maybe some tequila or gin? These are quite popular drinks in college. But brandy is good too. Rum? Whisky? Vod-"
"Vodka?" Dia had read different accounts about Eli being a fan of vodka. Then again, she wasn't sure if this was true or just a allusion to her being quarter Russian.
"Oh~ you want vodka? Well these are quite strong but they don't have much taste. It'll be better have it mixed but I'd have to call our bartender."
"No bartender. No one else is to know about this."
"You want it straight? Shiny!" Mari then picks up a bottle of vodka and pours some of it's contents in two glasses.
"Cheers?" the blonde offers one of the glasses to her childhood friend as she raises her own.
Dia looks down at the clear liquid and sighs. She sets her shoulders straight and clinks her glass with Mari's.
"Cheers."

Finding inspiration
So I just want to blog real quick before I go shower. Just finished watching “The Voice” and this show is amazing. Definitely what I need in my life right now. I don’t know why I haven’t been really watching it much until now but I love it. It’s so inspirational, and I also love singing. I want to get back into music as well and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
So I actually got home at a good time today. Luckily work hasn’t been so crazy this week (knock on wood). It’s the beginning of the 2nd quarter so everything’s already been laid in with all the orders. The last week of the 1st quarter was crazy b/c we were getting all the 2Q orders in, but now we have some time to relax a little and let our orders play out, and then we will see what we need.
So anyways what I wanted to talk about was that I got home and took some time to finally look into some things Ive been meaning to look into, and that is a choir and some dance classes. Actually I already looked these up a few weeks ago just to get an idea of what I want so I was already familiar with some of the groups. But as of tonight I have decided that I want to audition for the New York Choral Society. They practice in upper east side on Tues nights from 7-10p which is perfect b/c I work in upper east side, and the hours are after work, and once a week is perfect. Also they are looking for experienced singers and I used to sing in choir in elementary school, high school, and college. It’s been a few years but it was something I really loved. Actually I almost changed my major from business to music during my 3rd year, but in the end decided not to b/c they said I basically had to start all over again as if I was a freshman with choral work and I did not want to do that. So yeah. Music is still and will always be my first love. But yeah I want to join a choir that is a little more advanced, so I just need to brush up and practice and audition. So yeah excited to do that =).
Along with that I would also like to get back into DANCE and I have decided to start taking classes at House of Movement towards downtown. I don’t want to join a team, just take some classes. I looked at their videos and some are pretty good. At first I saw some videos that were okay so I was all hmm I dono. But then looking at their site again today, and watching other videos made me realize that I do like their style and would like to take classes there. So I decided I will take my first one this Friday =). Might even become my new Fri night routine. But they also teach on Mon and Wed so I could go those nights as well. But yes definitely this Fri I would like to check it out =). Too bad though I didn’t decide to start taking these classes sooner bc it’s actually near where I used to live when I lived at my apt on W 34th. This studio is like on 36th or 38th st so I would have been close. But it’s cool still not too far. And again will probably go more Fri nights. So yeah.
So yes that is the plan! Glad to be getting back into some of the things that I love. And how exciting to experience them here in NY! Hope I can do both. Hope I can make it into the choir. So their season actually starts in Sept, as their site says, but there was a note today on the site that we can email if people are interested in auditioning. What I like about New York Choral Society is that they perform at well known places like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Alice Tully Hall at Juliard! That would be such an experience! So yeah we’ll see what happens with that, but definitely need to get out there.
Other thoughts, need to go soon but I want to start blogging more. I haven’t in a while b/c been so busy. But actually before I left Cali last weekend, which I will blog about in another blog later, my brother Brad was dropping me off to the Amtrak in Stockton so I could head to the bay to fly out of SF Airport. The last thing he says to me before we said bye was, “Hey do you still blog?” And I was kinda surprised he asked that b/c I haven’t blogged in a while so I haven’t been thinking about it. Then I said, “O yeah I haven’t in a while but I do sometimes.” And he says, “Oh yeah b/c I actually read a lot of those. It’s cool.” And so I was all, “Oo thanks dude!” It was cool b/c I honestly don’t even know who reads my stuff lol. It’s nice to know people actually read it. I know people don’t really use Tumblr anymore, they’re more on other things. But I like to write. I’ve gotten a bigger inspiration to write as well since I moved here and share more of my thoughts and experiences. So this is for you dude lol and there will be more blogs to come.
Okay well need to go shower and get ready for bed now. Gnite!
-Carolyn

Graveyard Gold with Mark Worman
Mark Worman here. The Undertaker, The Dream Maker, The Love Taker, don’t you mess around with me. Wait, I think that last moniker may harbor the vaguest hint of plagiarism. Yes, my legal team is advising me to cease and desist using that title.
OK, OK, so I ripped off Pat Benatar, so what? “It doesn’t matter who said them first, I am passing my wisdom on to you …” said Sir David Brent. All right, fine, I admit I don’t write all of my material, I may have borrowed a few lines from TV and movies, so what? Robert W. Thompson may have been credited with first inventing the tire, John Boyd Dunlop, the second, but you don’t need their names on a tire to carry you to safety, do ya?
I think now would be a great time to take the off-ramp from that slippery highway and get back to all things cars. And I’d like to start by sharing my thoughts with current and future readers of Mopar Muscle.
I admit that my articles are usually based on my highly subjective expertise (read: opinion), at least when it comes to what made this or that car great; or why this or that happened, when there’s no factual explanation available and that’s OK. I keep to the facts where there are facts to quote, and I gladly share my experience with all when it comes to the restoration of Chrysler muscle cars. But when it comes to opinions, well, that’s all they are, my opinions. So while some of you may disagree about what features on a Mopar most sear their indelible carbon tracks on your hearts, remember it’s all subject to one’s personal predilections.
I will quote from the brilliant Paul Simon now, “When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it’s a wonder I can think at all. And though my lack of education hasn’t hurt me none, I can see the writing on the wall.” Opening lyrics from the July 7th, 1973 #2 Billboard hit song, “Kodachrome.” While I’m not his biggest fan in the world, I sure do recognize raw talent and appreciate thought-provoking lyrics. In fact, the chorus of the same song, is what this installment of “Beyond the Grave” is about.
“Kodachrome … They give us those nice bright colors, they give us the greens of summers, makes you think all the world’s a sunny day.” Just swap out “Kodachrome” for “Mopar” and read along as I share my opinion on the old proverb, “All that glitters is not gold.”
In 1970, Dodge and Plymouth threw their collective hats in the ponycar ring — big time. The design cues of the ’70 Barracuda and Challenger revolutionized what a ponycar, a muscle car, should be and would be for generations to come. No question that even today, nearly 50 years later, they stand as two of the most seductive and stylish body designs in automotive history. However, the mindful and creative team of designers at Ma Mopar, weren’t finished — not by a mile.
Styling is one thing, engines and drivetrains, sales options, pricing, well that’s all part of the ride, pun intended. Color — vibrant, prepossessing color — that’s what Mopar may be best known for during the late ’60s and early ’70s. But as I said, “All that glitters is not gold.” Yeah, I know, I stole that one too.
Graveyard Cars just finished one of its most beautiful restorations. That’s saying a lot, considering some of the formidable contenders from our past. I’m sure many of you reading this have witnessed our restorations of some of the most valuable and rare Mopar muscle cars on the planet — like a 1971 ’Cuda 440+6, four-speed, Shaker Hood in EV2 Tor Red or a ’69 Daytona, one of only 503 ever made. Recently, we brought back a 1970 Coronet R/T, 426 Hemi, convertible, four-speed — one of only two made and the only one left in existence. Not to belabor the point, but the list goes on and on. Nonetheless, this stunning example of the famed ponycar, will melt your heart and satiate your senses.
Let’s break this gem down by the numbers and remember, a Body Code Plate, aka Fender Tag, is read left to right and bottom to top:
V5X Y05 26 EN2 N42 N85 N88 P31 R35 C55 G33 H51 M21 M31 N41 V1X A01 A62 B51 C16 C26 FF4 HRX0 000 A28 060716 E86 D32 JS29 U0B 173369

So, as you can see, this Challenger isn’t only rare, it’s also a beautiful balance of both muscle and luxury. Fortunately, it was a very complete car to start with, but that’s not to say it was without its hidden sins. We had to replace front inner fenders, front floors, rear step wells, under seat pan, trunk floor, trunk floor extensions, quarter-panels, and multiple patches due to Midwest rust.
In the end, we were able to save much of the original interior, chrome, and trim. With the options this car has, it’s a dream to drive. Air conditioning, power windows, speed control, and all the time you’re riding on rich Corinthian leather. OK, maybe not Corinthian, but it’s leather. Sorry, I was channeling Ricardo for a moment.
Now returned 100 percent to its original, assembly line condition, this car is ready to give its owner another 50 years of fun and stake its claim as Graveyard Gold, without the glitter.

This quarter has been the best 3 months of my life.
It started before school even began. I got flown back home by Amazon where I had my internship, and had a fun time with my family. I then got flown back to Seattle by Microsoft for an interview I totally did not expect to land; I was even treating it like a mock interview for practice. I got put up in a fancy-ass hotel for 2 nights, which worked out perfectly because I wasn’t even moved into my new house yet. I went out to some nice (and expen$ive) meals on Microsoft’s dime, made some new friends, then went back to start band.
In summary, I have flown between the bay area and Seattle EIGHT TIMES this quarter without paying for a single flight (and many meals).
Home from Amazon
Back to Seattle for Microsoft (nice-ass hotel and meal with friends)
Home for Facebook (with a nice hotel and fancy-ass dinner in Atherton with Mom)
Back from Facebook
Home for Google (with a fancy-ass hotel apartment and dinner at Town with Dad)
Back from Google
Home for Pac-12 Championship (charter flight)
Back from Pac-12 Championship (charter flight)
I also got to go to Atlanta with the band and we’re going to the Rose Bowl for New Year’s!!!!
Aside from all the free travelling I’ve got to do, I also had a wonderful quarter in Seattle. Somehow my classes were all super easy this quarter so I never had work to do. I only had 4 assignments total for Data Viz, each taking between an hour and a day, so I’ve only worked on that class for like 20 hours total all quarter. Security was also super easy, and I did all the labs with my friend so it really didn’t feel like work at all. Swearing was just a silly fun class that I also had with a friend. It was super nice because I had friends in all of my lectures so it never felt like I was actually in class.
Then after classes I would have lunch with friends every day (between 3-4 of us each day), so I was constantly hanging with people. My schedule was Data Viz with one friend, Security with another, that friend and I would meet up with our 2 other friends and go out to eat, then two of us would branch off and go to Swearing. Often after that we’d go meet up with our other friend and hang out until band, and of course band is pretty much just hanging with 240 of my best friends for a few hours. There were so many social functions during the quarter, so I had something to do and people to see pretty much every day. Also all of my assignments were also done with friends so I really felt like I never had anything to do.
Another aspect of this perfect quarter: band. My mom and cousin came to see me perform in October, and my dad and sister came to my senior game in November. I lucked out and this quarter we went to the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta for 3 nights, where we got hours and hours of free time which never happens on a band trip. It was pretty much a bowl game but only the best people in the band got to go. Then it was also an away trip for the Apple Cup, and one of our busses flipped over, which is terrible. BUT SOMEHOW EVERYONE IS ALIVE WTF WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT EVERYONE SURVIVES A BUS ROLLING 270 DEGREES ON THE FREEWAY WITH NOBODY WEARING SEAT BELTS. This happened on Thanksgiving and people literally left their meals to bring my band some of their Thanksgiving dinners, and it seriously returned my faith in humanity. Everyone was so kind, and my band handled it so well and we all got soooo much closer because of it. We truly are a band family, and this event really put things in perspective. I am so thankful for everything and everyone.
We all thought we were gonna lose the Apple Cup, but that night the team won the game FOR US and sent us back to the Pac-12 Championship. I can’t even describe how amazing it was being in the hotel, having just performed our halftime show BY SINGING IT IN THE LOBBY because we couldn’t make it to the game, and then knowing we would get a chance to perform the show for real in Santa Clara. We were all so happy to be together, happy to be alive, and happy to get another weekend on the road with each other. My whole family and best friend all got to come to the championship game because it’s near where I grew up, and they got to also experience us winning the championship game and earning a spot in the ROSE BOWL. This is the absolute perfect end to my time in band and at UW. My rookie year we didn’t get to go to a bowl, and I remember feeling terrible for the seniors who had to end with that. Then my 2nd year we were so good we won the Pac-12 and then played Bama in the CFP in Atlanta, which was the coolest experience but I was still kinda sad we didn’t get to go to the Rose Bowl, since going to Pasadena is every band person’s dream. So ending my tenure in band performing at the Rose Bowl, the one football game that televises the bands’ performances, marching a 6 mile parade, for the first time in 17 years of my school’s history, is just the coolest thing I could possibly imagine. Everyone hypes up the Rose Bowl so much. We aren’t even allowed to say the name Rose Bowl to avoid jinxing it (except in Louie Louie where we sing it every time we play the tune), so it was wonderful to get to say “Rose Bowl” without fear for the first time with my family after we won.
This quarter was also amazing because the third day of classes I got an offer for a full-time position with Microsoft, which was my first choice company and the only place I had interned at the time. This entire quarter I knew where I was going to be after graduation, and that took so much stress off of me. When I got that news I began having an existential crisis because I couldn’t believe how perfectly my life was working out. I feel like everything has just been handed to me. I’ve had some hardship, but it’s been pretty minor, and just enough to give me perspective and make me appreciate my life and everyone in it.
My second existential crisis came in October. It felt like pretty much all of my friends were into each other and I was the only one who didn’t have someone who liked me, which really put a damper on my self-confidence. I was feeling shittier than I had in a really long time (I’m usually pretty chill with myself and my boy situation - or lack thereof), and it was really weird to feel that way. That weekend was the Colorado game. At that game I reconnected with a clarinet player who I had met at the Pac-12 Championship in 2016, then again when I went to Colorado on my away trip last year, and then we had run into each other on the streets in Vegas. UW was the one away trip they had that year, and I didn’t realize he was still in band because he had just graduated. Turns out he’s doing his masters at CU so he’s also doing a 5th year in band. We reconnected at the game and when our sections hung out after the game, and I ended up giving him (and his friend) a tour of UW and talking to him for a really long time after. He offered to make me 3D-printed W beads for candy, so we kept in touch initially with that. We started snapchatting, and eventually texting, and we have been having super long conversations since. When the bus flipped he even was about to call me to see if I was okay, but I texted him right as he was dialing. He was going to come visit me the weekend of the Pac-12 championship, but since we ended up going he couldn’t, so I agreed to fly to see him. I just so happened to have a week free in between the end of classes and my only final, so I booked a flight to Colorado for that weekend. We skyped and he said he likes me as more than a friend and I said I do too so now this is going to be our first date. I may be crazy flying 1000 miles to go on a first date, but I need to see him again before I go to Europe to figure out what’s happening between us. He also wants to take me flying (he has his pilot’s license) but we’ll see about that. Everything has just been so crazily coincidental between us. From me first seeing him when I walked into my hotel room at Pac-12 and all of the clarinets were hanging in my living room, to us being the primary points of contact for the clarinets on my visit to CU, to literally running into each other on the streets in Vegas (and me being really sad thinking that I wasn’t going to see him again), to UW being the one away trip for CU this year and him actually doing his fifth year, to that game being at the perfect moment in time when I was the most vulnerable and most desperate to talk to a guy, to me having the perfect break with nothing to do in between classes and my final. Literally everything worked out so perfectly between us, I can’t even believe it. What are the odds. So yeah in 2 days I’m flying to Colorado and we’ll see how this goes.
I guess I’ve been having one existential crisis a month, because I had my third in November after the bus crash, for obvious reasons. The universe works in crazy ways.
And now I’m on my fourth existential crisis as I piece all of these things together. My quarter worked out so crazy perfect I can’t believe it’s real.

Goffstown ended their spectacular regular season in Salem against a very strong Windham Jaguars team on Saturday night. Despite dropping their final two contests, the Grizzlies did win 14 games in the regular season for the first time in their program’s history. Windham jumped out to a 4-0 lead and the hole was too deep for the Grizzlies to climb out of and overcome, but that’s not the whole story.

After playing maybe the worst two periods of hockey (the third period at Keene and the first period last night) during the entire season, the Grizzlies seemed to rouse from their brief hibernation and played solid hockey for a pair of periods. Which may have come just in time as the tournament begins on Wednesday night when the #7 Kingswood Knights host #10 Portsmouth-Newmarket Clipper Mules and the #8 Oyster River Bobcats host the #9 Merrimack Tomahawks.
Max had a huge goal for Goffstown in the game, to get the Grizzlies believing in their game again. (Photo by Charron)
In the first period last night the Grizzlies were beaten to best spots on the ice over and over. Windham came out exactly like I thought they would, flying around the ice, trying to run over everything that moved, and going strong to the offensive zone. Windham’s Phil Tsoukalas scored a pair of goals in the opening period, both were unassisted. The second of Phil’s goals came as a Goffstown power play came to an end. The Jaguars cleared the puck the length of the ice and the puck bounced off of the end boards just to the left of Kyle LaSella. LaSella, and a hustling pair, Noah Charron and Phil Tsoukalas all got near the puck before LaSella could secure it and somehow Tsoukalas put the puck in the net. With the score 2-0 Windham and the Grizzlies looking like a prize fighter looking for his corner, the Jaguars added two more goals in the final 32+ seconds of the period. Jake Aleksa scored from Matt Crowley and Tommy Langlois with 32.7 seconds left. Then on a rather mysterious handling of the puck kind of play, Matt Crowley somehow got a puck past LaSella with 0.01 left on the clock. The first period closed with Windham leading 4-0 and holding a 12-3 advantage in shots.

The Grizzlies looked as though they were a youth hockey house team playing a travel tournament in the middle of nowhere Quebec, and put into the AAA division, not that I’ve ever seen that happen.
There were two goals scored in the middle period, and Goffstown got both of them. First, Max Lajeunesse made a strong skating and stickhandling move from the left wing boards, down low, and out to the front of the net where he put the puck past Max Daly in net for Windham, at 1:32. At 8:54 Davin Granahan rocked Goffstown’s Eric DesRuisseaux from behind on the end boards and was issued a 5-minute major penalty and a 10-minute misconduct. Goffstown looked as if wouldn’t be able to take advantage, despite numerous chances, until Brett Branscum scored in a scramble out in front of the net.
Michael Fortin and Brett Lassonde assisted on the goal with 8 seconds left on the penalty. The period would end with Windham leading 4-2, but Goffstown had scored twice and led 12-2 in shots for the period.
Brett Lassonde’s skating ability could be a huge asset in the postseason. (Photo by Charron)
The third period was pretty well played by both squads. Windham got their shooting going again and threw everything at the net. Goffstown had all kinds of offensive zone pressure in the period, and twice got pucks past Daly in the net only to see them slide just inches outside of the post each time. At 6:03 Alek Tunik scored for Windham, from Nolan Cunningham to give Windham the 5-2 lead. Goffstown called a timeout and pulled LaSella from the net at 14:22 but couldn’t make a dent in the deficit. For the game, each team had 25 shots on goal with LaSella making 20 saves, and Max Daly saving 23 shots.
With the win, Windham secured the #2 seed in the tournament and Goffstown dropped from #2 to #4 with the loss and St. Thomas’s 5-2 victory over Lebanon-Stevens. As of publishing time, the brackets haven’t been released yet. So, Wednesday night Kingswood who went 8-2 down the stretch will play Portsmouth-Newmarket. Oyster River who shrugged off a 5-game losing streak over 13 days and won 5 of their last 6, will play host to Merrimack, a team that gave Keene and Goffstown fits and won their last 3 games to get in. The winners of these games will advance to the Quarter-Finals to play Keene or Windham on Saturday.
This week Goffstown played the two teams that ended up being #1 and #2 over the regular season. The Grizzlies lost by a combined score of 13-4 in the two games which doesn’t make it look very promising should they get by #5 Dover on Saturday night. Looking closer though, the Grizzlies lost two periods this week by a combined score of, 9-1, and I am hopeful that Goffstown got that out of their system. Recent weeks showed that such a breakdown was coming and hopefully for Goffstown, that has been identified and corrected. Defense wins championships and that has been a problem for the Grizzlies this year. Opponents have been allowed to get way too many good looks at shots and scoring chances against the Goffstown goaltenders in my opinion. That trend needs to change dramatically. At the same time, the Goffstown offense has been outstanding for most of the season. If Goffstown can defend their end well and use their offensive skills to possess the puck while creating chances to score, they could get to their third ever Semi-Final.

A MEMORIAL TO THOSE HURT AND KILLED YESTERDAY IN KENTUCKY,
Skip to content Witches Of The Craft® PRIMARY MENU We Will Be Closed Today But Back Tomorrow….. Good morning, my dear sweet brothers & sisters of the Craft! As you have probably guessed by now, we are off the internet today. Yesterday took a very heavy toll on all of us. I didn’t realize how heavy the toll would be till the names of the victims were released this morning. One I already knew had been killed at the school, her aunt called me. The other, a fifteen year old young man, my ex-husband worked with his father and knew him also. This area is a tight-knit community and it seems everyone is kin to everyone else or else we know each other. The girl’s aunt called me and I know she was looking for words of comfort. I tried to console her as the best as I could. But that school shooting had opened up old wounds for me and the words became very difficult to find. She asked if I could come and spend some time with her today and I am going. Her aunt is a good friend and you don’t desert your friends in their time of need. The story for her aunt only gets sadder. A little over a year ago, her husband passed away. I comforted her and consoled her during that. She told me that I was her rock and she couldn’t have made it through her husband’s passing without me. This rock is crumbled. I know there will be questions and I don’t know if I have the answer for those questions. The biggest question will be, why did this happen? Why was my baby girl taken from me? How do you answer those questions. These are all good people, why did it have to happen to them, that is the question that keeps going through my head. I know you have probably seen the candle light vigils on TV but the people who lost their children and those in critical condition are in a way angry at God right now. I can understand that completely. If I was in their shoes, I would be angry at the world. Most of the times the words come easily for me but not today. I dread going to the aunt’s house. I dread going to the prayer vigil. I dread the moments the aunt will turn to me for comfort. The only words I can think of is that there is pure evil in this world. The Divine creates us in Her own image and gives us freewill. Freewill is one of the greatest gifts she gives us. But there are those among us that cannot handle freewill. How some people use that freewill is different from others. I don’t know if they are born with an evil seed or something in their environment pushing them towards evil. But when that evil is released no good can come from it. When the evil is released, killing like we saw yesterday occur. We must mourn the lost of our loved ones and then we have to stand strong against that evil. For that is the truest test, standing strong when the world seems it has taken everything from you. If you don’t, the madman who took your loved one wins. You have to stand strong so that doesn’t happen, you mourn, you miss them but you must go on with life as they would have wanted you too. You have to live your life in their memory and their honor. The pain will be unbearable at times and I don’t lie, I have lost too many. But it does ease some. You have good days and you will have bad days. On those bad days, imagine your loved one, how they loved you and they wouldn’t want you to be upset and crying over their loss. I believe the answer to that question is no, they wouldn’t. Even though they were taken in such a violent way and before their time, they would want you to continue living your lives in their honor and their memory. Most of all remember, they are no longer on this plane but they are now in a much better place. A place were there is no pain, no suffering, just love. Love of the purest form. We all have the promise of one day we will be reunited with the ones we have lost. Think of that day, live for that day. When you are at your lowest, call their name. They will come and you will feel their presence. Their love for you will last an eternity and as long as you keep them in your hearts, they will always be with you. You never know what to say, sometimes words are not needed, just being there is enough. I am sincerely hoping that is the case today. I would ask that you say a prayer for the Holt family and the Cope family as they go through this very difficult time. Pray that the Divine gives them comfort and strength. Pray for those at Vanderbilt Hospital, that they will make a speedy recovery. Pray for all those who had to witness the horror of yesterday. No one should ever have to witness a thing such as those young people had too. Help them deal with every emotion they are feeling. Pray for us all in the days ahead. Pray that I can find the words to comfort a grieving family. Remember my dear, sweet family, hug your children and your loved ones tight and long every day. For in these days and times we ever know. I love you, Lady A To The Holt Family To The Cope Family Our deepest condolences, love & prayers Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. Alan Gouze :) the name of the man that has had my heart for a quarter of my whole life!!! Wow, and he adores me even tho I am 100% a clumsy, forgetful, emotional HOT mess...I'm reading your letter and responding back as I go. Even though my feelings were a little hurt that you said I'd be sexier if I didn't get emotional, I understand. Alan I am a little mentally broke, but I'm different. And thankful for that. Bc even if depression, OCD, ADD, insomnia, all of my health problems, pain, overthinking overcasts me; I still shine. Tyler said something to me at Applebee's when I saw him. He told me that one day someone will come into my life and tell me that my hair, eyes & smile glow. I radiate in the sunshine, and I'll know what they mean by it when that day comes. I am so hard on myself but I've had a handful of people- strangers and close friends tell me this. And I know it's true. I know there is more to me than usual. I still smile, I still shine. And I thank fucking whatever god is out there that my glow stays. My friend Angel that did reiki on me told me I've been carrying something since I was a child and that's the reason for my anger. It's someone else's burden that I have put on myself & the woman who read my tarot cards said something similar too. I really do have a little bit of poison in me but something in my soul, or even beyond my own existence, has given me this gift. As I get older, I become more and more scared that the reality of the world will take away my light. I smoke so much I can't even remember shit anymore. "Lose you." That's the song you told me to listen to and I'm sorry that I forgot but you bet your sweet ass the next day I bought it on iTunes and listened to it :) I'm sorry I float through life to avoid realism and pain. I don't mean to forget everything just the bad stuff but I can't pick and choose what my poor memory holds... Emperors new groove. Idr if I've mentioned it before this, but I saw it on the shelf in my room today. (I gotta take some pics of the apartment for you). I remember coming over right after all of the Jackie shit & finding out about your mom. Trying to overdose. You cried on my chest & you were so emotionally exhausted. I believe your mom was still in the hospital and we put a movie on in her bed. Emperors new groove :) it was snowing outside and it was the first time my mom blatantly was bitching about me staying the night w you bc her crazy ass drove by and saw my car at auburn hills, when I told her I was staying at Courtney's. I never felt so close to you like you let your guard down and let me feel your pain for once. Selfish of me to say but it was honestly beautiful to finally feel you so deeply. Connected and so raw. I feel like I use that word too much, raw, trying to explain myself to you but nothing fits better than it. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Speaking of the past. Alan at this point in my life idk and idc what was true and what wasn't when we were together before db (that's vals name for now on-dumb bitch.) but one thing I'm holding you to is honesty. I care too much about you and this relationship to see it as a joke where it's okay to lie to each other. Like you said that was the one thing you kept consistent of so please don't lose it. I respect you for your honesty. It isn't a trait people carry anymore. Good or bad, through manipulation, brainwashing, reverse psychology, mind games, everything that come with this fucking sick generation..I do not want to be apart of. I much rather be in the 50's than this day in age. I don't belong here. Mostly I belong in the water ;) can't say that it doesn't kill me a little everytime you talk about threesomes, fucking other women, having a 2nd gf. You need to stop with it. You take away my dignity little by little everytime you say some fucked up shit like that. Gotta admit, you were right tho. Out of FUN and fairness I'm sure one day in the future you can get my happy ass all buzzed up and in bed with another chick. Just don't give her all/special attention bc it'll strain our relationship for forever after that. This does not mean I am actually cool w an open relationship, you having another gf, or having sex with anyone else without me. Starting a new chapter. "Everything will be ok." "No one should ever see you crumbling"...that's the thing, trust me no one besides you sees me crumble. I don't talk about myself to anyone. I feel this void most of the days and I don't want to put a damper on anyone's mood. I never open mssgs or get back to ppl bc they dgaf about me or what I'm going through, think, feel. None of it. And I crave meaning too much, in everything, to be stuck in a one way friendship. I have wasted so much time and energy into ppl who are rotten eggs. They'll never be anything besides selfish i and I can't surround myself in that type of environment anymore. I'm killing myself slowly by not meeting my potential in life rn. I need more meaning. Not to make things more complex but the opposite. To feel full and complete by understanding shit all of the way. And ofc to make it through this terrible generation I was born into. I do see what you see baby...well for the most part. And I don't see the good in everything :p I know I won't always have someone to tell me life gets better. It has always been this way. I have taught myself this. Overthinking just kills me so much! Being a Virgo doesn't doesn't help that I overanalyze either! Fricken OCD-.- my brain sees & thinks things way differently than most ppl. Soul gotta be like 300:) I know you think differently too. I love my nerds ;) so sexy to me. Maybe that's why our souls just click. I am sorry I was quiet the other day. You knew I had something to say and I didn't say it. It wasn't the right time but it isn't a big deal so o don't want you worrying about it baby. Was I really that quiet and meh that you could tell? Or is it just bc you know everything about me?..-.- blessing a curse that you do! But I wouldn't want another man to try and understand me anyway bc I know he couldn't. It's time to stop living life for other ppl you say...idk if it's your 20's or what but I feel like I'm redefining my life again. Rediscovering who the hell I really am down to my core. I love YOU inside and out & to death!!!!!:,( pouty face. This is the most settling and amazing letter I have gotten so far. Thank you for these words I really needed it. I love you all the way through your tough skin and down to your beating heart Alan. Changing my diet is the least of my worries and it's awesome bc I'm going to get sexy af!:) I've been gluten free before. Not having cheese just breaks my lil heart tho lol. Yes my parents have fucked me up. But I workdue with it and try to overcome the shiftiness they make me feel. Ik I'm a pussy. But my dad has definitely fucked w my head and has never made me feel good enough. Maybe that's what I feed off of you and why I want you so bad. My mom is just an emotional crazy lady w multiple personality disorder lol. But at least they didn't hit me. Just verbally f*cked my shit up. "Do everything your heart desires" "even if I get out and we can't stay together 1 yr isn't shit to wait" do you understand how absolutely fucking amazing it is for me to see you say that? You're right everything happens for a reason and it'll all collide during the time it's suppose to. The stories held in the fate of the stars ;) "before we know it we'll be 30 looking back laughing." Nothing has sounded more fulfilling than that small, little sentence. I am studying finally! And I hope the pain fades away w my diet too:( my poor locked up bf has to tell me everything is going to be okay. I can't even say anything to compare to this last letter. You were too smooth with your words, and I can't tell you how refreshing it is for you to be away from me through out a whole year and wanting to stay faithful. We were blessed with each other . Keifer was right, never could stay away from each other. You will always have me too baby. I can't tell you how bad I need to hear this. You have helped me more times than I count. And for sure more than I have helped you. I can't say thank you enough for making me feel so much better . You're the wind beneath my wings <3 & the cheese to my cake. Thank you for loving me for who I am. I reread our letters last night an I am so proud of the man you are becoming. You'll have me sitting passenger cruising in your vehicle in no time toots. A place, school, income, a dog :), happiness, prosper, feeling complete. Taking care of each other, midnight runs grocery shopping. I love you with all that I got, every ounce of my being. And I hope I WILL always have you. You are stronger than so much of the race around this world. I am glad you are all mine. Love you always my sweet, handsome man. I never mentioned anything about the pics I sent. The picture after the 2012 one was when I went fishing w Anthony and t the other day. I'm pretty sure I took some pics of the water for you, I'll have to look. Ofc next one is me omw to see you. I put a wonderful alnatural big tshirt mirror pic on there for you since you're all about natural beauty:p speaking of I'm getting all new make up bc I bet that's why women age faster as they get older! We get words looking you guys get better and we carry your children wtf lol. The black dress is what I wore to Josis party, I sent the one and only picture I took at her party. Does exhaustion look sexy on me baby?:b. The last pic is from the gas station I went to after seeing you. The sky was soo overwhelming in red. There a w a double rainbow and it looked to rad & gleaming from the sky. It was beautiful!! I also wanted to show you my red robe that I have two of(: silky and comforting af, I can't wait to wearing matching robes with you:) lol do yoga, face masks, spoil or ourselves and one another as well. I can't wait to run my hands all over your body and give you a massage. Rob made me Nutella and strawberries tn, made me think about how bad I want to lick Nutella off of your body right now. I got wet from just thinking about it..mmm I'll take some sexy pictures tmmrw night for you. Happy I'm coming to stay for a whole weekend next week. You're my kryptonite and I love everything about you. Give me time so I can give you a kick ass amazing, inspiring letter next!!!! You rule my world. Forever and always sugs, you are my forever and always<3 3 am and time to crash. Hope you're having a kinky dream About it rn;) just ordered that vibrator off of amazon and metal kegel balls bc I guess they feel amazing. I can't wait to be with you. Like we always say, sex and a real bed. It'll be so soon sweetheart and I will have money for us to get a place as soon as you get out. Thank you for telling me to go wherever you astound me but life is just not the same without my other half. You're my soulmate I'd do anything for you. Being in southern michigan doesn't effect me as long as I'm there with you. You're my sunshine..goodnight love.

So anyways I got home and took some time to finally look into some things I’ve been meaning to look into, and that is a choir and some dance classes. Actually I started looking these up a few weeks ago just to get an idea so I was already familiar with some of the groups. But as of tonight I decided that I want to audition for the New York Choral Society. They practice in upper east side on Tues nights from 7-10p which is perfect b/c I work in upper east side, the hours are after work, and once a week is good. So excited to do that =).
Along with that I would also like to get back into DANCE and I have decided to start taking classes at House of Movement. This studio is like on 36th st so I would have been close. But it’s cool still not too far. And again will probably go more Fri nights.
So yes that is the plan! Glad to be getting back into some of the things that I love. And how exciting to experience them here in NY! Hope I can do both. Hope I can make it into the choir. So their season actually starts in Sept, but there was a note today on the site that we can email if interested in auditioning.
It’s cool.” So I was all, “Oo thanks dude!” It was cool b/c I honestly don’t even know who reads my stuff lol. It’s nice to know people actually read it. I know people don’t really use Tumblr anymore. But I like to write. I’ve gotten a bigger inspiration to write as well since I moved here and share more of my thoughts and experiences. So this is for you dude lol and there will be more blogs to come.
Okay well need to go shower and get ready for bed now. Gnite!
