GODDAMN SORRY this took a while cause i suck at putting thoughts together. i apologize for my obvious briefs bias i have more hcs for them than the son family despite loving them both :pensive: anyway heres some random stuff

briefs hcs:

all of the briefs are pros at non-verbal communication. i hc that saiyans have their own language (and also in my own Mind Canon they still have their fuckin tails) and a lot of it is done through tail movement/body posture/grunts/etc. etc so theyve all sort of picked that up. even bulma, who doesnt have a tail, is pretty good at getting across what she means without actually speaking. they still do speak normally but it comes in handy sometimes considering that both trunks and vegeta are prone to running out of speaking energy or getting very frustrated with words, so having another way to communicate works very well for them

vegeta is fffffffffffffffffffurry. without getting too deep into my own General Saiyan hcs (thats why i made a whole ass four subspecies!!) i think that the entirety of planet vegeta tended to be very hot aside from the part where the castle was, where the temperature would drop. meaning that saiyans working in the palace would grow thicker fur around certain parts of their body, and in the royal saiyans theyd be Especially fluffy. he kept it down on earth, but he has thick patches of fur around the bottom parts of his arms and legs. kind of like snowy boots and gloves! he also has fur that grows in on his neck like a lions mane.

future trunks is an actions sponge, vegeta is a words sponge. vegeta will pick up words VERY quickly regardless if he fully understands the meaning of it or not (completely inspired by 'THATS RIGHT BOYS... MONDO COOL' in z) and future trunks will unintentionally mimic the actions of people - around people he looks up to he might take a few small mannerisms from but this extends to copying the disposition of anyone; he's just very adaptive. this is the most obvious (and funniest) when he's around vegeta bc it really shows like. yeah damn that sure is vegeta's son

vegeta & bulla have an intimidating bastard smirk naturally. their natural smiles are pretty frightening and they have to put effort into a 'normal' one. this also extends to current trunks, his default smile is the Vegeta Bastard Smirk but he learned to have a normal smile quicker than his father and sister. future trunks has a slightly unnerving natural smile (the fact that his pupils are always drawn so fucking small makes me hc that he just has a very intimidating look of 'cat thats about to pounce on an unfortunate trapped mouse' whenever he smiles) but he learned to look normal even quicker than current trunks since he's around humans a Lot and is sort of their uh, Hope. don't want to look scary to the people who depend on you!

bulma has some fighting knowledge and mildly good ki control. vegeta taught her it as a just in case so that she'd be able to defend herself against Bigger threats if he wasn't there and also so she could raise her own ki to alert someone to her if she had to.

vegeta is extremely clean and can not stand to have things disorganized for more than like... an hour before he has to tidy everything up. every time he goes down to the lab and bulma is passed out in a pile of bolts and circuit boards it kills him inside just a little bit

future trunks has little concept of power control. since his timeline was always in danger it wasn't really an important thing for him to learn. the amount of mugs he's accidentally crushed is impressive

vegeta tends to not sound like he's asking questions when he is. he doesn't add the proper infliction to the end of his questions and just sounds flat most of the time. it's confusing to people who dont know him well.

im not even gonna lie, im a BIG fan of the chill demon panchy headcanon so i love the idea that the briefs have a Lil bit of demon in them but just dont know it ghjnkm

vegeta doesn't really get labels but he's bisexual & "debatably a man", bulma is bisexal & bigender transfem (sometimes shes Wamen and other times its like "gender? no"), bulla is a nonbinary lesbian, current trunks is a bisexual trans man & future bulma forgot to explain the concept of gender and sexuality to future trunks so he's a little confused on that front and his gender & sexuality are "i have literally never thought abt these concepts in my life but i think men are nice. i refuse to think about gender though" (i actually have two main hcs for future trunks which are either gay trans man or more-feminine-presenting nonbinary bisexual)

son hcs:

goku is Not as fluffy as vegeta at all, but he does have fur on certain parts of his body. namely on the back of his elbows + ankles, down his back connecting to his tail, and on his shoulders. its inherented from gine!

gohan is learning saiyan language from vegeta! vegeta acts grumpy about it but he's glad to have someone to teach. when gohan learned that most of the history had been lost he basically wished shenron for a big ol book on saiyan culture and gave it to vegeta just as an act of kindness and vegeta was like [in an angry voice but very touched] "Ok. Sit down. You're learning." by extension gohan is also teaching the rest of his family!

i will take ox king being actually non-human to my grave so like, chichi has horns and a very short ox tail! gohan and goten both have horns, but they're hidden by hair. goten's horns are bigger than gohans.

goten also has a more ox-like tail, with a little puff of fur at the end. generally, gohan looks more saiyan-like and goten looks more ox/human-like.

although he keeps up his cheery demeanor very well, goku is still haunted pretty badly by like... everything that’s happened in his life. he still has frequent nightmares about cell & buu specifically.

gohan will freak out at worse, zone out at best, if he's even tapped on the neck. it reminds him of the whole 'getting his neck snapped on namek' so that area is pretty off limits to everyone

goten gets along really well with android 17. they both have a love for nature and 17s kind of like his chill uncle, so whenever he gets too stressed out or just needs a break you can find him face down on the ground outside of 17's place on monster island.

goku is really really good at remembering completely random shit. bulma uses this to her advantage whenever she's working and has him memorize random technology stuff. a week later goku can not remember what he had for breakfast that morning but as soon as bulma asks "hey do you remember what i told you last week" hes like "oh yeah sure i have no idea what it means but [blurts out three hours worth of technical garble]"

oh boy is this a headcanon that has a lot more depth to it than just a bullet on a tumblr post, but gohan has DID!

goku, like vegeta, doesnt get labels either, and does not even Try, ask him about any of it and hes like "i dont get the gender thing but i think lots of people look nice :)" gohan is gay and like vegeta, "debatably a man", goten + chichi are both bi nonbinary, & pan is a lesbian trans woman.

i have a general hc of ki mixing or shielding, essentially, if youre close enough to someone people wont be able to tell apart your ki and you can also 'shield' someone with your ki for a small amount of time. if vegeta has his energy low, his and bulma's energy are the same. same thing with goku and chichi! goten and trunks are near impossible to tell apart, and same thing with gohan and videl.

though goten and trunks are both protective over their younger siblings, gotenks is that protectiveness times a thousand. look at bulla or pan wrong for 2 seconds and you're going to have an angry gotenks in your face asking if you have any last words. i like to think that trunks and goten fused casually a lot, especially around the time where bulla and pan were young, so its basically goten and trunks own attachment to them PLUS gotenks' attachment to them as his own person combined.

i like to pretend end of z did not happen the way it did so uub, using nimbus, travels back and forth a lot. goku isn’t the only one who teaches him how to fight as goten, gohan and trunks all think of him like a little brother and love training with him!

cell, as cool of a villian as he is, definitely should have had a creepier final form. or multiple- just something that really drives in the fact that he's made up of other's dna & fuckin ABSORBS people. also his first two forms should have had a different absorbtion method other than the tail thing (not the drinking thing thats fine) it just feels.   Weird. not good

it would have been far more interesting to keep the bitter attitude towards vegeta that future trunks had imo... in super trunks was going through a Lot granted but the fact tht he wasnt more confrontational to vegeta being a dick to him seemed kind of off considering his attitude in z i just.. think it would be interesting and far better if they had more of a back and forth 'family but lowkey hate each other' relationship

Definitely. They traveled together for years (I hc that they aged normally, so they’d be like 13 by the end of Johto) so they pretty much always know what they other is thinking. Sometimes when they’re bickering Misty knows what Ash is gonna say and has a comeback before he even says it. Shuts him up quick lol. Also Misty picked up Ash’s “i caught a pokemon pose” but that ones actually canon. As i said they kno each other so well they both can easily read between the lines if something is bothering the other one, even from non-verbals. Ash isn’t as clueless as he seems so he knows right as well if Misty is upset

Ash asked her out. In his own roundabout lowkey tsundere way he did. he knew ho he felt but didn’t know how to explain it properly. So it came out kinda bad but Misty didnt care. Also she kissed him first. And Misty realized she was in love with him sometime in the Orange Islands, probably when she turned Rudy down. Ash realized when he came back from Hoenn to do the Battle Frontier, so he was about 14-15 by then.

Thank you for answering my question about Elliot's ancestry! Do you also have head canons about how his mother ended up being the way she was? Was she born that way? How does a woman from Egypt end up in America married to a white man, and being abusive? Is it connected, or does she happen to have a personality disorder that she would have no matter her cultural and marital background?

I honestly don’t put too much thought into Elliot’s mother because I highly dislike her and I don’t think abusers deserve my attention more than the basics. That’s not to say I won’t take the time for a more in-depth look into her at some point. We don’t know a whole lot about her history so I’m hesitant to plan out too much until I see if season 4 reveals anything more about her which I think it might since we’ve seen weird shots of Darlene with a haircut I’m guessing is meant to look like their mom so idk if it’s some weird trippy thing or not. 

ANYWAYS. Magda. What we do know. She has a very strong personality. One which worked overtop Edward’s more gentle push-over personality or more so I think she made him feel like he had to settle and keep the peace by giving into her. I think she withheld most of the physical abuse until after Edward died because I don’t see him sitting by at letting his wife burn his kids with cigarettes. I think any physical abuse, such as grabbing the kids too hard by the arm or smacking them or shaking them she was able to hide most of the physical signs and the kids would have been too scared to mention it. Darlene would have been pretty young and I think she started more on Elliot because she would have not known how to handle him (being undiagnosed on the a.utism spectrum and being picky about foods, textures, routines, noises). She would have gotten frustrated when he wouldn’t answer her (going non-verbal) and I think she saw it as a sign of disrespect. She would have continually berated Elliot for this. Calling him a bad son. That she didn’t deserve this. That he was worthless. A waste of space. That she gave him everything and this is how he repaid her. She would have hit him to try to get him to respond or to do as she asked. 

Quite frankly she was not someone who was ever meant to be a mother. She doesn’t have the patience for it and it made her bitter. So her with a kid like Elliot who was not the easiest child, just was a bad mix from the start. Elliot was closer to his dad who took the time to understand him, didn’t force him to speak or do things that made him uncomfortable. We see her taking away what looks like a gameboy and holding his arms down while she is smoking, no doubt about to put it out on his arm because he presumably was hyperfocusing on his game. We see her forcing him to eat something which clearly was making him uncomfortable due to sensory reasons. 

So as to your actual question. I think Magda immigrated as a young adult. Part of me lowkey HCs that she went to NYC first not NJ where she’d eventually start a family with Edward simply because it’s that big city dream. I have this random HC in my head that she was interested in acting and/or modeling because that just came to me for some reason but she’s very bitter about life so I would say she was unsuccessful. It seems like she settled down and Edward was the primary breadwinner with his big E Corp job while she raised the kids (poorly of course). I think she cares about money and nice things and probably made Edward feel like he really had to provide for the family so she could also maintain a certain lifestyle even if it wasn’t super glamorous. So I just see her seeing family life as more of a job than something special to be cherished. I DON’T tie her ethnicity into how she acts as a mother because that’s problematic for me. Lol. Some people are just shitty it doesn’t matter where you’re from. I also don’t see her having any explicit personality disorder. She could but I am not gonna try to diagnose her from a few scenes we got plus Elliot’s not the most reliable narrator we just know her treatment of him was bad enough that he developed DID. 

tldr; I just think she’s a very bitter woman who was never meant to be a mother and took out some of her failures in life out on her kids because she was unhappy. I do think her and Edward were happy at some point but she’s got far too strong of a personality and he would feel like he’d have to give in to things to keep her happy.

—who’s more dominant: I think they’re almost equally ranked on this, though since Kenny has much more patience than Bebe does, I believe he would be more passive about things than she would. Unless he’s sees something as unfair/unjust, he could be pretty assertive and confrontational so in a sense pretty dominant. But openly Bebe would be the more dominant of the two.

—who’s the cuddler: They’re both affectionate but I think Kenny would be more of the clinger here. He primarily uses affection to show his love. When it comes down to it though, he’s more physical than he is verbal. Bebe likes being showered with attention and affection from what I know, so i think this works out well for the both of them.

—who’s the big spoon/little spoon: Haha, honestly when these two come together their actions/choices are usually different from traditional standards. I'm pretty sure even though Kenny’s like SIX inches taller than Bebe, she would probably big spoon him. Often. He also lowkey prefers being held.

—what’s their favorite non-sexual activity: I think they would enjoy simple activities that would allow them to communicate without feeling claustrophobic. Something like, exploring areas they’ve never been before; slow walks in natural environments; the cliche car on hilltop- listening to music. They would probably take a lot of pictures together or of each other making stupid faces or just plainly goofing off. I’m sure they occasionally do movie marathons in their spare time. I also think they would enjoy a fair share of aggressive activities, as they’re each competitive in their own right. It could be anything from a Karaoke Duet to Laser Tagging, Ice Skating to out doing each other in Carnival games. Basically two extremes, really chill or no chill.

—who uses all the hot water: Kenny’s used to his water heater malfunctioning. He’s showered in cold water hundreds of times, I don’t think it would faze him much anymore. So. Bebe, no doubt about it.

—Most trivial thing they fight over: If it’s a domestic issue?? Taxes..?? I’m not sure tbh?? Maybe, messiness?? Kenny has a habit of never putting things back in their rightful places. That might start an argument?? IDK???

On the other hand, if it’s a relationship issue, I believe it would be absence and or lack of trust from either party. There’s something about loving someone tremendously and then having them leave you with nothing but a letter; never seeing them for another fifteen years -COUGH- that could potentially fuck with someone’s psyche y’know?? Washing everyone’s laundry was actually one of his many  chores. Unless their washer broke down, which it would.. constantly. If this occurred the whole family would just collect their piles of laundry, and take it to the public Laundromat together. He’s just used to being messy- and then… tidy.

—who remembers to buy the milk: Probably Bebe. Kenny never… really.. got to buy groceries.. so.. In all seriousness, groceries weren’t a part of his chores, so he never made it a habit to apply this rule to his regimen. No matter who he lives with. He’s just used to missing a meal, so he doesn’t worry about it.

—who remembers anniversaries:  Both!! Even though Bebe sometimes acts like a t’sundere, she totally loves romance. And luckily, Kenny is the type to pay attention to things that matter to his S/O’s. I think they’re both romantic’s and know how to woo each other well. So all that’s left is WHO SAYS “happy anniversary!!” FIRST.

—who cooks normally: Well, Kenny passed Home Ec with flying colors, and he’s actually a decent cook so. I suppose Ken would?? I can remember if Bebe was bad at cooking or not, but i think she tries anyway. Which Kenny finds extremely adorable, whether she fails or not.

—how often do they fight: I honestly don’t think they fight unless the problem is UNAVOIDABLE. I think they both kind of don’t mention anything until it get’s really bad. Like “well shit. you almost died, i think this might be a sign…”

—what do they do when they’re away from each other: I think they’re either working or indulging in their favorite hobbies. There’s also that whole concept called a social life, friends and shit. Crazy, I know!! It’s so weird how their entire existence doesn’t revolve around each other and that they haven’t surgically SEWN THEMSELVES TOGETHER. They’re such a strange & quirky couple!!!!

—who is more likely to pay for dinner: Kenny would try to pull that chivalry shit, because my boi is a gentleman, but if Bebe wants to be an independent  woman who doesn’t need some hobo’s money, then Ken won’t fight it. He likes being pampered anyway.

—who steals the covers at night: Kenny is a pretty calm sleeper. He doesn’t move much, and he doesn’t really snore either. He does get hot easily, and he sometimes has recurring nightmares, he’s also a light sleeper but that’s about it. I think bebe wins this round. Ken wouldn’t mind this though, he would probably pull her in and big spoon her cocoon fortress.  

—what would they get each other for gifts: Ummmmmmmmm. I think Bebe would notice how he’s constantly tense and probably book a spa day for him. He’s never been to a spa, so I can imagine him being very uncomfortable at first but then ADORING it afterward. Kenny on the other hand would put on a costume from a her favorite movie character and make up their home to look like her favorite scene and play out her fantasies, no questions asked. “oh, you like drama bebe?? i’ll give fucking give you drama.” ( the movie could be about WW3 and HE STILL WOULDn’T GIVE A FUCk. “this is a little weird but sure babe i’ll cosplay hitler.” )

—who is the dirty talker: As I’ve said before Kenny’s more physical than verbal. He is a sexual person, but he’s MUCH more LUSTFUL if he loves/cares for the person. I think Bebe would probably take the cake here. Whether or not she does indulge in dirty talk. He really only does it upon request. ALTHOUGH…. If you get him drunk, there are no limits, he’ll say things that would drop Bebe from 1st to 10th place.

—a head canon: They text each other sweet, positive and fluffy messages when they’re away from each other. Just in case the other is having a really bad day.

Hyrule Warriors headcanons

General HC:

Takes place between Twilight Princess and OoT. The reason Lana knows of the Twilight Princess story when it hasn’t happened yet is because she can glance at the future and the past alike because MAGIC.

The reason they can talk to each other while battling in extreme opposites of the battlefield or the sort is fairy magic, a spell that binds the members of the team and also lets them know when one of them is in danger or hurt. The same magic allows them to communicate with the opposing side if they wish to.

Cia and then Ganondorf made use of a dark magic brand of the same spell for their purposes.

The OoT scenarios take place somewhere along the seven years before Link awoke. The Skyloft scenario takes place centuries before the actual Skyward Sword story happens, on the early days of Skyloft, and the Twilight Princess scenario is an alternate timeline. The Wind Waker one takes place AFTER Wind Waker but before Phantom Hourglass.

Darunia only met the fake Zelda because he thought it was the long-lost princess of his time but it took just one look to know (Even if it HAD been the actual Zelda) that she was too old to be that child that fled Hyrule Castle Town less than seven years before.

Cia/Lana’s tribe where the ones to make the Ocarina of Time, Door of Time, Pedestal of time, Spiritual stones and the such.

When Ganondorf is walking down Cia’s castle and sees the statues and paintings of the different Links in history, he is legitimately creeped out in a way he wouldn’t have thought possible and from then on he can’t even look at Cia in the face without getting a shudder.

Linkle became Impa’s honorary little sister after the end of her quest.

Link HC

Link is non-verbal

When in council  and sometimes during campaigns, he signs at Proxi and then she translates what he’s saying to the rest.. 

No one in the gang ever questions it. Ever. They all just accept it.

If anyone’s a jerk about it, Impa takes action either verbally or straight up punching them in the face if they’re VERY rude.

He and Linkle are cousins. Linkle’s compass actually IS a relic for the hero but their grandma gave it to Linkle because “Hey, Link already got the triforce mark, mah gurl’s going to get the compass, IDGAF”.

Despite Impa’s distrust of Sheik before she learned the truth, Link did trust them from the start. Either because he wasn’t aware of everything that didn’t click in their story or because he instinctively felt they were there to help.

The scene in the courtyard was not the first time he saw Zelda, but it was the first time she saw him. Aditionally, the first time their eyes met.

He’d been lowkey crushing on her for a while but covinced himself that it was just the normal veneration one has for an ideal, as would be fitting for a soldier.

Zelda HC

She was basically the Queen by the time the War started but people were still calling her Princess out of habit and she never corrected them because, well, they’ll probably grow out of it right?

The Royal family was part of the Sheikah Tribe since the days of OoT Zelda, where the princess at the time was accepted as part of the tribe officialy.

As such, OoT Zelda had scrolls and books about the Tribe, it’s techniques, it’s history and culture, which were still in the royal library after all those years. HW Zelda found them as a child and trained and learned all she could on the topic. 

She also found the Goddess Harp, but no registry remained of why it was called that and she only knew it as the harp of her ancestor.

The story of how OoT Zelda evaded Ganondorf from years and aided the Hero of Time is kept a secret from everyone outside the Royal Family; but it’s what gave her the idea of Sheik when things got ugly.

She didn’t exactly fall in love with Link at first sight, but she felt the connection between them, as did he. She developed a great admiration for him upon seeing him defend herself and Impa despite being still just a trainee when many a fully-armored soldier hesitated to act.

Admiration that just grew as she watched him fight from uder the Sheik guise. Admiration that turned into something tugging at her heartstrings when she realized how desperate he was to find her. She hadn’t thought anyone besides Impa would be so worried about her.

Zelink HC

At first, the gang is comfortable with Proxi doing the talking for Link, but Zelda starts learning the signs on her own when she has time to spare (Which is rare tbh what with the war and everything).

Link sometimes exchanges comments with Proxi about what he’s thinking and she learns fairly often not to say them out loud if it’s something embarrassing but then oh snap, Zelda learns the signs too and so she catches Link “Whispering” at Proxi stuff like “Wow Girahim’s hair looks even more stupid than usual today” or “Gods, I am so done with these Re Deads” or “Dammit, Proxi, I keep glancing over at the princess she’s going to think I’m a creep”

She can’t bring herself to tell him she understands him for like two weeks after he signs that because she doesn’t want to embarrass him.

When she finally does tell him Link is so happy he doesn’t even think of the implication at first, though. It only catches up on him after and thankfully she isn’t around to see him turn red and bury his face in his hands and freak out a bit.

Zelda insists to communicate through signs and though Link is fine with people talking to him, he appreciates the effort she’s making. 

Link teaching his personal signs to Zelda, correcting her hand posture.

The two of them haivng private sign conversations but Link confessing to her that he likes it better when she talks so she now only uses them if she can’t talk for whatever reason.

Of course, Impa eventually catches on and she wants to learn too, if only to know for sure what they’re saying to each other.

Lana catches up too and then she spent like three or four days studying sings frantically because well yeah, she’s accepted the whole Soul Bond thing but that doesn’t mean she likes the idea that Zelda can understand him while she doesn’t.

Eventually, all the gang starts picking up little signs here and there as well to the point where they can more or less understand Link but he only takes signing from Zelda. On ocassion, Impa, Lana or Linkle.
