This took actually 4 hours, 3 of them just trying to make the easy way work (spoiler alert - it fucking didn't), last hour I just gave up and fixed the textures manually.

yes absolutely, i imagine that too! conversely, i think mihawk would have a little bit of trouble adjusting his balance and reach with a body missing one arm, as well. it's interesting to think about how they both would be forced to change their fighting style, and whether or not they would exchange swords.

mihawk's been seen using yoru with just one hand so he could probably pull it off with shanks's body. also interesting to think about shanks tripping up on having two arms until he naturally slips into his old fighting style again--or would he? because there's also the question of muscle memory, right? would mihawk's body automatically do things that shanks isn't predisposed to doing, and vice versa?

the other thing i find intriguing about body swapping in one piece is the question of whether or not your haki powers would switch as well. they say haki is spiritual presence, so presumably your haki switches if your spirits switch, but if it's the kind of spirit that's tethered to the presence of the body? then consider mihawk having the strongest conqueror's haki out on the blues, or shanks being able to use observation haki at mihawk's level, practically being able to predict the future--or mihawk, able to counter with shanks's haki-kill technique. food for thought!

I keep seeing videos online being like "back in my day we wanted toys and things that were popular and people around us also wanted for Christmas but now my kid wants trendy things and an Iphone 15"

and ive seen it phrased so many times that their idk 8 year old is like "I need the iPhone 15 for Christmas and I'm you bought me the iPhone 14 for my birthday but now that's old and crusty" and acting like wow my kid is so spoilt and bratty kids these days suck like - YOU ARE THE ONE WHO BOUGHT A KID THE IPHONE 14 FOR THEIR BIRTHDAY?! THEY'RE 8. YOURE DOING THIS!

They act like it's the kids fault when really they're growing up with access to things they really oughtened to, and some of the other things are just "my friend thinks it's cool and the rich kids at school have it so I want it" like you millenial parent didn't do the exact same thing just with other things. I hate that they're making fun of the kids due to their parenting choices.

Sometimes I see Supergirl gifs of Lena and Lex and I get kind of... disappointed that they made that relationship so horrible?

Sure, Lex and Lena's relationship in comics is not the best. Their currently story is that he left her to live with her aunt and never spoke to her again after not being able to help her when she got sick. Then when he did he tried to hide her from the world of fear of not being able to protect her. She grew resentful of him after that and tried to kill him (which was so valid of her actually).

But it sucks to see that Lena so alone because besides all that, Lex loves Lena, she was once referenced as the only person Lex was truly capable of loving, and it sucks that they didn't let her have that.

Like, sure, he deserved to get shot for crying his ableist tears everytime he said he couldn't stand to see her in a wheelchair because he failed or wtv. But at very least he does lover her in his Lex Luthor way.

(then there's also the fact she's not disabled in that series, and as far as i know she also doesn't have her telephatic powers either so i wonder who that Lena was ever supposed to be lmao)

i hold myself to these expectations that I must know i was trans at like 5. but that's just not how it works. respect to trans kids who defied their parents, they deserve our support but not all of us could even know so young. I had to get puberty to realise that everything sucked and I had gender dysphoria that I could hide very well as a child. I fully experimented with trans things. I remember pretending to see what it'd be like if I had no penis. i really loved having a high voice, being short. but I very much tried to conform for years, trying to grow masculine, speed through puberty to get the end results, which just ended with me being unable to cry added with rather painful gender dysphoria.

I think it finally makes sense. why I couldn't actually do what other boys could. why I was committed to gender neutrality. I knew trans people, I knew the words, but I thought the pathway didn't exist. I also managed to disconnect from my body - I essentially created a fake personality that's still haunting me. I could never be myself because. I hated myself. I was, y'know, trying to do something that hurt me. I'm gonna try to stop thinking I need to have an obvious sign at a very young age. because they were there, I just shunned it when the word existed. I knew how to fit in but that didn't not hurt me.

one last thing because this may be the last time I discuss this (unless I find out even more which is honestly unlikely) I remember hearing out about SRS at a young age when my dad asked if any of us would ever get it. My brother was full dolls and dress up - I don't think he was enthused though. I wonder what I said. I wonder if I cared. I wonder why I hated blue and pink so much because they were gendered at around 11. I only found about the true meaning of nonbinary a couple years ago.

I wonder how my life would've turned out in a family that doesn't want me dead.
