Honestly looking back, the lack of information and many questions surrounding Dark Choco is concerning yet intriguing if you think about it. He’s linked to Dark Cacao, one of the heroes who disappeared, yet he’s with DE and co, the antagonists. We know of him and the strawberry jam sword and his regrets which paints him in a sympathetic light with the possibility for redemption, we know that Pomegranate and DE are manipulating him to keep him in line but there’s always the lingering question of why?

Why on Earthbread would Pomegranate and DE go out of their way to keep Dark Choco within their ranks? In terms of Kingdom lore, he isn’t doing much compared to Liquorice and Poison Mushroom (tho I’m not really sure what Poison Mushroom really does). He can easily be replaced especially with the new fight loving genius Strawberry Crepe and that experimented cookie so what gives? What are we missing? What are the devs not telling us? What is making Dark Choco so important for DE to keep him under her grasp? Is it because of the strawberry jam sword, the fact that he’s Dark Cacao’s son or something else?

And speaking of Dark Cacao, we never got the full story about what happened back then and what happened to their kingdom. Did Dark Choco believed he killed his father or think that he’s dead and does he blame himself? Who was the one who trusted Dark Choco with their life in the flashback and who else were they referring to? (Doubt it’s Black Raisin, the silhouettes don’t match even with the lack of arm) what is the true story behind the cacao kingdom and the royal father and son? Did it even fall at all in the Kingdom timeline?

There are so many questions yet so little information to get the answers for them and honestly, the devs did a really good job at keeping info out while giving us enough to theorise. One thing I think is certain though, in terms of the major story (i.e with Gingerbrave and friends vs DE), Dark Choco’s going to be playing a very, VERY big role, maybe bigger than Pomegranate’s role and I hope to Millennial Tree that all the questions will be answered and at the very least, give Dark Choco some redemption and closure between him, his past and his father. Sorry for how long this is

The devs do a very good job at giving us information but leaves just enough gaps in between them so we don't know the whole story.

Why Dark Enchantress wants DC specifically on her team won't exactly be know unless the devs show her saying why. But I speculate why she wants to keep DC specifically is because of his insane abilities pertaining to swordsman ship. The people of the Cacao kingdom are said to be raised to be warriors ever since they are all little, Dark Choco was most likely not someone was exempt from being raised that way either, I imagine Dark Choco was actually pushed even harder than the rest of the people because he's the prince! Someone who will lead the people one day.

I mean, I could be missing something when I say this as I'm not entirely sure of the entire origin of the cursed strawberry jam sword so take what I say with a bucket of salt, but assuming Dark Enchantress was the one who made it, it was a trap for Dark Choco, his fate was sealed the moment he grasped the sword. I just don't think he realized that until it was too late and he had ended up hurting/killing his father (I lean towards more Cacao not being dead??? But we won't be sure until later ig)

Want to hear a fun fact of me, Swarmish being an utter dumbass ?? I didn't realize upon initial viewing the cookie Dark Choco attacked was Cacao. "Swarmish how the fuck did you manage to not see that the person Dark Choco was striking was Cac-" I KNOW I know I'm stupid I just apparently didn't look to hard at that image smfh so idk if I've made any claims of fucking uh

Dark Choco not hurting his dad (idk if I have or not but just in case) but if I did make any claims that he didn't, very sorry! That's my bad, should have looked at the image harder to realize who that was that was being striked cause tbh I thought he striked the unknown cookie and not his dad (idk why I remembered it in the wrong way this entire time smfhhhh)

But back on point

Another reason I think that Dark Enchantress keeps him is. Well..

To work her way into turning him into this.

I really hope they'll touch on this costume in canon though!! I just really want to see the sovereign be mention in the story mode

The only big thing I wish to see now is if they will ever continue the guild story whether that be in ovenbreak but I think it would be so incredibly neat to see the story be continued in kingdom! Considering the guild was made because Milk and Yam want to find Dark Choco so like. Devsis please I wanna know what happens pl-
