how does shadow milk feel about saint vanilla? (love your art btw)

I answered it vaguely before, but Shadow Milk is very agitated and furious at Pure Vanilla for corrupting. If he truly was guiding his life from nearly the beginning, he certainly expected the outcome to be way different from what it ended up being. He wanted to break Pure Vanilla for sure, make him lose his hope and sense of purpose all at once, but while he was kinda hoping for an eventual revelation (a la Truthless Recluse), which he got in a sense—he was not expecting its outcome, the birth of the fatalistic, self-sacrificial Saint Vanilla, who proceeded to break his strings in retaliation.

Shmilk lost his body through other means, so it’s really not helping that he once again can’t do what he wants to the best of his ability. He wants to get back at him, someway and somehow. He wants his puppet back or gone or something. He hates his hands being partially tied, though—the lab’s a no-go after The Event, and there’s not a lot of dough-creating cookies crawling around… so there’s gotta be another way for him to regain his body (it is very possible but not finalized rn that Shmilk doesn’t have his soul jam), right? Something or someone who could use his… input, right?

I really need to talk to this with somebody but as I got both of the newest costume (40k sugar cube down the drain BUT THATS FINE), i went to take a look at the mini story that comes along with the costume AND LET ME TELL YOU THE WRITERS COOKED. I always had the impression the smc costume was just a redeemed version of him or better yet a pre-corruption one but BOY was I wrong. ITS LITERALLY AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE/SWAP AU AHSHDJ 🥹

The way that in this universe, smc never stray away from the truth even though he has witnessed the harsh reality of it and instead of rejecting it and turning to deceit, he still chose to embrace it (echoing Awakened PV). He is now know as the Sage of truth and teaching his knowledge to anyone who wishes it. And PV OH HE CANT CATCH A BREAK. Like the implication that he witnessed the cruel truth of this world but he didn’t had a support system to help him digest all this info and therefore he became Truthless recluse OH MY GOD😭.

both Sage of truth and Truthless recluse interactions are just so so FREAKING GOOD. Their personalities bounce off each other so well and they have such good chemistry i literally started kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl 🤭

I won't lie I was a little disappointed when I learned that they're based off of an AU, I would've loved to see a glimpse into who shmilk REALLY was, but it's still so good 😭 My poor baby truthless recluse all alone on that mountain

I do love thinking about the potential conversations they'd have in that au though. The way shmilk addressed PV made it seem like they've seen each other relatively often, and I'm so curious what their first meeting would've been like
